Fuller's in Southwark

Great traditional English pub fare coupled with a fine ale and finished off with sticky toffee pudding. What more could you want in London??

The most tragic experience possible. I can't say thoroughly disappointed I was with my entire experience. I don't often wrote reviews but people should warned about the potential to have this kind of experience. Cons: Food was not just disappointing but entirely wrong. We had the tart which was to be severed with a warm walnut sauce and salad..nada. Instead it was microwaved and severed with some form of wilted greens..no sauce. Definitely no walnuts. The green pea hummus was nothing of the sort. Cold semi mashed peas. Nothing added, it was dry and inedible. It too was to come with a spicy red accent to add favor...nothing. If both dishes didn't cost £10 each it would have be laughable. My beer (London lager) was sour, I'm guessing that no one has cleaned the taps in some time. My wife's "Mexican cocktail" was a tasteless watered down soda water and vodka drink, (the menu mentions Fevertree to justify the cost) again missing in action. Although we didn't send anything back or give her a hard time our waitress decided she was done and literally left while we were waiting for the bill... hilarious..zero service, food quality or value. I'm sure this gives you the general impression. £60 I will never get back.

Segunda vez que vengo a un Fuller’s en años diferentes. Acierto seguro. Comida típica inglesa. Los famosos pie están muy sabrosos. Recomiendo el Fisherman’s pie, riquísimo. El personal muy amable. Volveré seguro!

La qualità era sicuramente buona per un pub, noi abbiamo preso camembert fuso e burger col bacon, ma i prezzi erano lievemente sopra la media. Per il resto l’ambiente è molto tranquillo e rilassante.

Had the Sunday roast at 2 pm, only choices were beef or vegan. The meal came with 2 pieces of meat, peas, roasted turnip and potatoes, cheesy cauliflower, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The server was fine, the meal was not. The cauliflower dish was cold- not warm, not luke, but cold. The veggies were fine but the meat pieces were tougher than any shoes I have worn. The restaurant should be ashamed of the food quality- I did mention the cold cauliflower to the server, and 10 minutes later he asked if I wanted it replaced ( a bit late). Also the wine glass stem was chipped— poor quality all around.

Tipico pub londinese, prezzi in linea con quelli degli altri pub. Locale accogliente e divertente. Consigliato.

Arrivati dall’Italia per goderci una buona birra, il personale non si dimostra all’altezza... dopo aver preso e pagato tre birre grandi ci è stato detto che il locale stava chiudendo.

Malgré une réservation sur le site the mad hatter, le pub était fermé nous n’avons donc pas pu manger. Nous avons été reçu à la réception de l’hôtel, le réceptionniste ne nous a pas cru. Nous avons du lui montrer notre réservation sur notre téléphone. Dommage que l’établissement ne mette pas à jour son site internet. Sauf si vous êtes chanceux, l’adresse est à éviter

Have walked past many times and never been in for a pint but called in for breakfast recently. Full English and continental options. Full English was good with quality sausage. Pub looked good overall and will return for a pint soon.

We were just looking for something easy and tasty...that I exactly what we got. A good portion of beef served with vegetables, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. I cannot fault any of it. Traditional pub and value for money. The staff that were working this evening 21/04/19) were really friendly and welcoming. What a great find.

Non ho messo il massimo dei voti solo per la "confusione" all'ingresso anche se è una confusione tipica da Pub Inglese (tutti fermi a bere birra). Abbiamo mangiato al piano superiore e la cameriera italiana è stata gentile e simpatica. Sulla birra niente da dire. Il conto in linea con le aspettative. Siamo a Londra. Tutto è molto caro.

My husband did the pies and brew pairing. He loved it. I see why they are award winning. The curry and beef mushroom were the best! Their Fish and chips were great, try the peas!!

We've been looking for pubs in the areas which serve Sunday lunch - most are closed all day Sunday. Simply put - the roast was "OK". We weren't expecting gourmet food but even allowing for this it was a bit disappointing -- all the food was a bit cold and didn't seem freshly cooked -- this probably because the place was very empty so the turnover of food in the kitchen was low, The key question would be would be visit again for the roast - the answer is "No"; we will try other places in the area.

Went to kill a few hours between rainclouds and the train coming and thought this placed looked ok. The staff all looked like they wanted to be anywhere else than here. Ok, most people don't like their work but honestly, having such attitude in a customer facing role is just wrong. Im talking all of them. I was trying to negotiate from the bar to my table with 2 coffess (of course no tray was offered) and this waiter stormed past me, no ducking to the side to let me through the surge of people. TWICE as I had to go back to the bar to collect my other coffee with people just standing in front of it. Lazy, unprofessional and just unhappy. Couldnt recommend anywhere less.

Bottom line: Great and convenient option if staying at the Mad Hatter hotel. Good choices and excellent service. We enjoyed our meal very much on our first night in London. We stayed in the Mad Hatter so this was super convenient. Most important (besides food quality) was it was air conditioned!! Super hot in London in July 2018 so this is critical!! The menu was extensive and many of us opted for the pies which were excellent! Even the Tikka masala pie was excellent. Appetizers of focaccia and chips were excellent. Great choice of ales or wines and even some excellent cocktails. Has a great British pub kind of feel. I had made reservations online and it was super easy. The service was excellent. Donna was exceptional. Quick and really helpful with providing us tourist advice. Romano was also fun and excellent when we stopped in another day for drinks. Overall, we found our experience to be really positive and felt welcome as American tourists.

Absolutely no vegan options on the menu. I had to stay because I was with friends and it was very unpleasant not having anything to eat.

Since we were staying at the Mad Hatter Hotel, which is in the same building, we took advantage of eating at Fuller's on several occasions and thoroughly enjoyed their specialty: savory pies. The filling for steak pie and the fish pie were both delish, although I was hoping that the crust would have been a bit more flaky/buttery. Overall, thought it was great pub food and excellent value with very atmospheric pub decor.

My wife and I had a pretty hefty credit to the restaurant because we stayed at the Mad Hatter Hotel, connected to Fuller's, and couldn't use the last night nor cancel it. The hotel gave us the same amount as a credit to the restaurant. Our first day in London we had lunch there before heading out. I had the taster of pies and beer. I would recommend just getting a full pie and not the little ones, because I found them a bit heavy on the crust. My wife had the fish and chips and said they were nothing to write home about. The waitresses were very very kind and the service was great. We did have breakfast there every day which was quite good and is a very good option if you're staying at the Mad Hatter. We ordered some wings and sausages to our room as a snack and they were quite good as well. If you're not staying at the Mad Hatter, then we don't see why you would go out of your way to go here.

The pub offers typical pub food like Fish and Chips, which whilst not as varied as expensive restaurants was of good quality and proportion. The menu does have some unusual variation to other pubs and I suggest you look at the menu on-line. The drinks are really good as we found with the Sauvignon Blanc and the Malbec. For beer drinker there is a wide range of quality beer as you would expect from a local brewery. The service too was top notch with very friendly staff.

We were 3 to have a lunch on a Saturday. The pies were really good and nicely presented. The atmosphere is great, love the decoration.

I went for traditional Steak Pie and Mash with liquor. I actually got gravy with it by mistake but didn't complain because I like gravy anyway. I hadn't tried liquor before so I had fancied something traditional. The pie was okay but the meat was tougher than I would have liked. The gravy and the gravy in the pie was very highly seasoned, a bit too much for my taste. My partner had the Faggots but he ate most of it but he wasnt very taken with it. The price was okay so you couldn't complain but it wouldn't be our choice if visiting again.

Vi bodde på hotellet och var där ett par gånger för att dricka något. Trevlig stämning, liten och mysig. Fullers eget öl var huvudmenyn. Deras egen cider föll mig i smaken, liksom deras ale.

Este pub fue parte de la Mad Hatter Hotel, donde nos alojamos. El servicio era estupendo, y la auténtica comida de pub estaba delicioso. Siendo un antiguo californianos, que ahora reside en Francia, me quedé encantado de encontrar tenían cerveza de barril, Sierra Nevada y icey frío!

Pedí el muestreador de pastel (3). Sólo había dos variedades de la 7 en el menú (6 regular + una especial). Se explicó que habían sido ocupados ayer. Hmmmm. ¿Por qué no hacen tartas frescas cada día? Terminamos con pollo madras tarta. Llenar era bastante bueno. Partes estándar. El servicio fue mediocre. Pub de ambiente clásico.

Great Fuller's Pub, centrally located near Waterloo Station. Very good Pub food served in the Pub. Staff is pleaseant.

Our family had dinner here on a Sunday evening. It was our second time visiting here and service and food was exceptional as it was 2 years ago. Will definitely come back before we leave for home.

I was staying in the hotel over head, so tried the pub for drinks in the afternoon, and had breakfast which was included with the room.It's a nice pub with a good selection of Fuller's beverages. Nothing really special about the decor or ambiance. They had some outside seating by the curb, but construction across the street would make that unattractive to my mind. The breakfast was tasty and filling.

Great little pub with great atmosphere and authentic Asian food and even though they served me Peroni in a plastic cup I still enjoyed the evening ;)

We've been coming to the Mad Hatter for many years and have always enjoyed our visit. Our most recent trip was a very different experience. The menu has changed to focus on their pies with limited other offerings. Having chosen our pies we tried to order, only to be told the kitchen was closed for an hour because they were busy. No apology - just wait. So instead we try to order drinks to find there was no ESB or London Pride on. This "Pie and Ale" pub would be better called a "No Pie and No Ale" pub. An hour later normality was restored with new barrels and a working kitchen. The disappointment didn't end there though as the pies were overcooked, the mash cold, and the veggies soggy. Worst of all was the truculent attitude of the barman who served the dishes by slamming then on the table in a manner more akin to a prison warden. Must improve or we won't be back.

We had the Fullers Full breakfast one morning and it was excellent. We also had some beers one night and the selection is good - if you like Fullers beers.

We had our first breakfast in London here, and got the Mad Hatter Hotel special. There is a continental breakfast which has cereals, pastries, fruit, juices and a number of other foods. You can order other items from a breakfast list including a full English breakfast. Food is good and so is service. The pub is very pretty.

To anyone looking for a great traditional pie and mash meal washed down with a good ale then give it a go. You will not be disappointed.

Staying there for a business trip. Good service, kind staff, nice rooms, fair price,. I'll be back next time I am in London!

We arrived at The Mad Hatter about 6pm on a saturday and it was pretty empty - a welcome change from the heaving restaurants nearer Southbank. Decided to have a sit down and dinner. I had a lovely pie and my husband said his burger was "very nice" (high praise indeed). A good selection of ales on tap but obviously have loads of other drinks should you fancy something other than ale. It is probably packed on a weekday when the offices are open but on a saturday it was very pleasant.

We ate here around 8pm and were surprised to see it half empty (or half full if that's the way you read the glass) but that meant prompt service and plenty of seating options. House wine was most acceptable (in a pub that does multiple beers we may have been seen as philistines drinking wine but we did ) We had food - steak and ale pie and fish pie. Both tasty. Served with cabbage and mash (yes even though fish pie comes topped with mash) so traditional English food. The menu has reasonable choice. Specials had three options with 'smoked' something or other which suggests the chef has a new toy. Prices reasonable, around £12 for main dish. Would happily eat here again.

Food was good and not expensive. Great if you like pies! They do other dishes too, all of which were top quality. I'm not a Fullers beer fan but you can't have everything.

I ate here while a guest in one of the rooms upstairs. I thought the wine a bit expensive (by the glass) and the food acceptable but nothing special: I had the fish pie which I thought had less fish than desirable. I was then asked if I wanted mash or chips, to which I responded "doesn't it come with mash on top?". So I got my fish pie with mash on top as well as an extra bit next to the pie dish! The ambience was very good and it was well attended by patrons.

Just enjoyed a pie and burger at the Mad Hatter. Good portion sizes and the burger was very tasty and well textured. The pie was very full of filling in a tasty pastry too. The chips were especially good.

Menu is pretty much all pies, but the fish pie had a mash topping so OK for GF. Pretty quick service but very noisy as when we went (around 7.15pm) it was very busy. We only got a table because a large group had failed to turn up. Booking is probably a good idea.The food was OK and service average.

Good food ! The pies are really good ! A bit on the pricey side but as a treat it's good ! There is also a group of scifi people meeting there twice a month ! Live showing of football in the corner of the room or if it is your thing Dr who when the new series it's on ! The problem it can be noisy place to be especially on Saturday evening ! On week end there is some car parking in the next street !

I held my retirement do at this venue as it is great for large parties and is used to catering for them. They have a good selection of ales and a great bar menu.

There are Fuller's bars all around London. I frequented the one in Mad Hatter Hotel where I as staying so it was extremely convenient. Don't expect a large selection of beers. Mostly Fuller products are in stock. Atmosphere is OK. Nothing special. Quite lively in the evening. Surprisingly, food is not bad at all. Surprise: single malts are quite affordable.

Не думаю, что этот паб отличается от десятков других. Традиционные интерьеры, небольшое меню, все очень просто. То же касается качества еды и пива: не хуже и не лучше, чем во множестве других мест. Fish&Chips в пережаренной панировке, для любителей питания чуть более здорового - супы. Кому пожирнее - бургеры. Такой нехитрый выбор блюд. Но провести здесь полчасика за пинтой пива или эля приятно. Главное - не в пятницу вечером. Может быть очень много посетителей! Будьте готовы к тому, что пить пиво, стоя на улице, для Лондона нормально. Не всем может хватить места внутри. Из плюсов: еду и выпивку можно заказать официанту, а не самому подходить к стойке, как в некоторых других пабах.

Все отлично, жила в отеле в том же здании, напитки, еда, обслуживание - все очень понравилось! Кроме того - очень удобное расположение если не очень хочется отходить далеко от отеля.

I have been twice this week for dinner, Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th. Fist naight was burguer and London Pride pint. Second niight, a fish pie and another recommendation for beer (a stronger one) since they run out of London Pride. In both events, good quality, good service and real briths flavour.

En perfekt liten brun pub, bare 5 min gange fra Southwark underground. Der har de alle rettene en ønsker for et realt engelsk kjøkkenmåltid! Samt lokal og god øl. Ikke bare de vanlige pils-sortene. Maten var god og kom rask. Anbefales!

Best tour in the brewery and scenic walk by the river to Hammersmith. Excellent knoweledge of brewign technique. I have visited with my Mum who is an engineer - brewer. Dave, the guide is very funny and social.

Loved the wide range of Fuller's on tap, especially the London Pride and Indian Pale Ale. Cosy old pub feel in a busy area makes you feel very relaxed. Loved the ceiling paintings of the Mad Hatter.

Очень вкусная еда. В целом, не дорогое пиво..За 3 человек заплатили около 50 фунтов. При этом выпили по 2 пинты и наелись (пришли в ресторан этот голодными)Есть WiFi бесплатный, быстрый довольно. Ресторан выполнен в стиле средневековой Англии с элементами современности... Очень красиво!

Cute as a pub, as good as a restaurant, the Fuller's is located inside the Mad Hatter Hotel, in the middle of the magnificent London.The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, suitable for a casual dinner with friends.Here you can enjoy traditional English, the choice on the menu is not very extensive, but if you ask for "daily specials" you will be amazed. The price is good, the size is plentiful.Of course, here you can taste the typical Fuller's beer!
