Never had a bad meal at Fuego’s. Meatball Fajitas are delicious! Good value for money and the restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere

Always have a great time at Fuegos. Lovely and warm, great cocktails and drink selection, excellent food, cracking atmosphere and excellent Mexican food. I can't imagine a time that we don't go to Fuegos!

Visited on my birthday after reading the very complimentary reviews. They are totally justified. We had the early bird deal, 2 courses ( were intending to have 3 but after 2 we were incredibly full) and all meals were hot, flavorsome and well presented. The place filled up fast creating a buzzing atmosphere . The decor is beautiful with authentic touches.The 1.5litre Sangria was strong, fruity and great value. Service was perfect with pleasant staff. Probably the best Mexican l have tried in the UK. Definitely the best meal of our weekend trip. Would recommend to all.

Ive known Ryan and his brothers for many years and I've eaten here many many times over the years I had my 60th birthday party there this is one of the best run restaurants in Southport great service and staff and bargain prices also killer cocktails all in an awesome place to eat and party

Came here over the weekend. I had a baked quesadilla which I wasn’t to impressed with. Hubby had beef fajitas which he said lacked meat but enjoyable all the same. The wine was very nice although was £5 more expensive than 12 months ago! Staff friendly and attentive. We’d still go back but try something different.

Fantastic food and service, great value for money. All the staff were happy to help and the set menu was good mixture of different dishes.

We had great expectations, but a little ruff around the edges. Ordered Rioja wine this is the first time I’ve left wine had a very funny taste nothing like Rioja. We ordered nachos which were ok but had no salsa on them?? Main was a wrap very bland tasting with a bitter tomato sauce, not a restaurant I will visit again.

After a 6-7 week trip around Northern Spain and Portugal, enjoying some really great food, we returned for our third trip to Fuego's. Now this is how it should be done. Nothing came close on our trip to the food at this place. We had two starters and four tapas dishes all on the table at the same time. What a meal. Every dish was brilliantly done and left us wanting more; well not exactly we were stuffed. The two starters were the tacos and spare ribs. Both great dishes in their own right. Next up were the tapas. Green shell Mussels with bacon and beer, Sauté potatoes, King prawns in Salsa and last but not least, in fact my favourite dish was the Chorizo special. Wow, that last dish was something else. I first came across this restaurant many years ago when visiting the Arts centre and it was closed at the time. Roll on years later and I had a yearning to give it a try. So me and the Mrs had a stop over, primarily to visit this place. Then we had another stopover a few months later. Then we just had the most recent trip but on the train, just for a day trip. The staff both in the kitchen and restaurant are all very professional and pleasant and made the trip a completely enjoyable experience. In the words of that big fella, "We'll be back".

Great food and service, authentic Mexican cuisine and very reasonably priced. Will visit again next time we’re in Southport.

I have previously visited this restaurant and really enjoyed it, I even used my tastecard to get 2 for 1. Tonight I was visiting with my gran and asked to use my tastecard again. When I presented my card they said they don’t accept them. I showed them their restaurant on the tastecard website but still denied that they accept them. The restaurant should look to contact tastecard to ask them to remove them from their list to save future disappointment for customers. The staff couldn’t actually provide a reason why they wouldn’t take the card.

We had a wonderful meal and drinks at Fuegos. The staff were so attentive, friendly and polite. The food was delicious and the cocktails were great. The atmosphere is great in there too. I accidentally left a shopping bag by my seat and one of the staff members found us about 2 minutes away from Fuegos and gave me my bag back, fantatsic customer service, above and beyond thank you very much, really appreciated.

Thoroughly recommend. Mix of Spanish tapas and Mexican food to suit a variety of tastes. Food excellent with massive servings. Friendly and helpful staff and timely service of food. Lovely atmosphere. Busy even early on a Tuesday evening so recommend booking ahead if possible.

What a lovely place Fuego's is. Some of us where late for our booking and just after the deal time of 7pm because one of our lovely friends walks with a stick, the parking was all full near to the restaurant, and it was no issue they still let us order off the early doors menu. They made us lovely cocktails, which is never an issue for a big jug of what you fancy and even helped out our very fussy friend with a meal she loved. Thank you so much for another wonderful night out in your gorgeous restaurant. We will definately be coming again.

Visited tonight for a family meal have been several times and travel quite a way to visit. Food wasn't up to scratch tonight. The starter was gambo prawns was rubbery most likely frozen. Main meal was chicken and chorizo special not so special dish contained presliced chorizo from like a supermarket. When asked If everything was OK and told two separate waitresses not great food as the first waitress turned her back on us ignored our comments on the dish just walked away quite disappointing really. I ordered chicken fajitas came on a sizzling skillet I had to ask for a plate to make my tortillas on as I wasn't given one. Overall not best service or food tonight. No staff mature enough to deal with any comments or offer a solution to the issues with food.

The first time at this restaurant, it was good but did not blow me away. They sat us on table 1 right at the side of the cleaning station next to the kitchen.I order the regular Nachos Todos spicy beef nachos to start with. When I saw the size of it I thought it should be labeled to server two. It was very dry and came all lumped together. I ate the top of it, but leftover half of the dried nachos. Would have been better served with chilli.Main was the Gambas Catalan which was very nice and full or prawns. But again it was not fantastic. Would we return? Not too sure

We went here last night and had a fantastic meal! The service was spot on and was generally a nice experience. We were 2 couples and one couple opted for the tapas banquet 2 at £13.50 each and the other couple opted for the banquet 1 at around the same price. The tapas menu came out all together and the banquet 1 came out in 4 different courses. We opted for the tapas banquet to come out on their 3rd course and ordered some nachos to come out on their first (which really wasn’t needed). The portions are huge and they were all of a good quality. On the tapas we got some calamari, muscles with fried bacon and beer on top, huge king prawns, bread, potatoes and potatoes, chicken and jalapeños. On the banquet 1 they got some nacho crisps with this delicious cheese sauce, ribs which I have attached some photos of, nachos with all sorts in and chicken fajitas which made 4 large wraps. We had 3 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of Desperado and the bill came 2 £100 which we thought was very cheap. One of the couples had never visited a Mexican and was very wary but is now converted. Next time we visit Southport we will definitely visit here.

We visited here as a family of 6 and WOW we will most definitely be back again. Between us we had a range of dishes and they were all delicious! We were lucky enough to have the early bird menu and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes were massive. The sangria was amazing too! Consistently excellent. Always visit when we are in southport and have to say the food and service are always excellent. Anywhere that manages to stand the test of time for the last 15 years must be doing it right.

After a month of lockdown without being able to go out it was lovely to go to this amazing little restaurant. This was the second time we have been and it was just as great as the first time. Our waiter, Andy was so lovely and ready to help us in any way possible. The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced. And th cocktails certainly packed a punch (no complaints here). I would 100% recommend.

We did not leave disappointed. This is our favourite Mexican restaurant which we're happy to travel 80 miles to. The staff are really friendly, with great service. I couldn't finish my ribs main but got to bag up and bring home with extra 'secret' sauce which we love. Look forward to our next visit.

Mexican Restaurant with an authentic Mexican menu but also a good range of tapas.My wife chose Mexican and I chose Tapas. I had 4 separate Tapas dishes which was quite a feast (They had recommended that 3 should suffice). Tables were well spaced out to comply with Covid-19and there were plenty of sanitisers. Service was really good and we shall certainly go again.

Couples night out, and we love Mexican food. I can't fault the service of this place, we arrived 20 minutes early and got seated straight away. There is proper distancing between diners and hand sanitizer stations everywhere. The music is nice and the staff are very friendly.The food is very average, bordering on poor. Do not go here if you are looking for good Mexican food. Or a real margarita.The margarita is frozen packet margarita, not fresh-made. Very sweet, and underwhelming, but to their credit the staff asked me if I was happy with a frozen margarita before serving it to me and I said it was fine so at least I knew what I was getting. The Tequila Sunrise was much better and they have a decent selection of mid-range tequilas.The nachos tasted okay but they put the guacamle and sour cream under the cheese layer before baking, which makes it hot, runny and weird. We sent back the crunchy beef tacos because the shells were not properly baked. They tasted like supermarket shells straight out of the packet - hard and leathery. The chicken flautas were very nice - no quarrel there. For the mains, my chimichanga, which was meant to be served on a bed of 'salsa' came in a puddle of tomato sauce. It tasted like pasta sauce with a little kick of chili. And the pulled pork filling had a very strong bbq flavour, which I don't associate with Mexican at all. My partner's chicken enchiladas were the same; essentially, enchilasagna. It didn't taste bad exactly, it was just all very weird and unexpected. And underseasoned.The biggest disappointment was the rice, which looked and tasted like supermarket microwave packet rice, complete with odd little vegetables in it like green beans and sweetcorn. Completely bland.The deserts were very nice - banana chimi and churros, definitely the highlight of the evening.The staff comp'd us for the tacos we sent back, and we left them a big tip because they were absolutely lovely. This is a good place to go for a pleasant evening out, but don't expect to be wowed by the food.

If you want great food and an atmosphere to match it well this is the place to go. A very high standard of authentic Mexican food served by great staff who are always polite , efficient and friendly. Food and drinks priced just right. Can highly recommend and I’m sure you’ll not be disappointed.

Would give this establishment a higher rating if one was available. Fantastic welcome and service from the staff in a lovely authentic Mexican themed restaurant. The menu is extensive and not overpriced and neither are the drinks and well done to the chefs for sending out the best restaurant food we have eaten in a long time..... I highly recommend searching out this hidden gem you won't be disappointed with either the excellent service or food.

We visited with our 2 kids . Lovely atmosphere . Really helpful and hard working staff who assisted us with the kids choice of food as they can be a bit fussy with spicy food . The food was really tasty and good portion size . I was wary as one review had mentioned it was all microwaved food . Lovely quaint Mexican, fab decor. Went with young family and we all thought it was amazing. Great variety of food, kids menu was excellent. I had the chicken enchilada pie which was top class and husband had seafood chimichunga which he loved. Would definitely visit again

Another place supporting the Eat Out. Really nice to have a Mexican. Booked a table online which was great. I had the Mushrooms to start, the Chilli cream sauce was absolutely delicious, I wasn't to keen on the pieces of bread (I think they was toasted) not sure as it was a little hard, but overall starter was great. My main was the Fuegos Special, again that was fabulous, loved the spicy kick in the sauce. Had to try the Belgium Waffle, that was lovely.Overall, looking forward to coming back soon.Compliments to the staff and Chefs.

Went to fuegos 29th July 2020.We were greeted at the door and asked to sanitize our hands. We were out for our belated birthdays as two couples. We were seated and asked what drinks we would like. Very friendly staff, great location just off lord street. We had meatballs and nachos for starters which were absolutely fab. Mains we had fajitas, chicken and chorizo again stunning. Definitely best Mexican food we have ever had. We all went to Mexico last year and we were very disappointed with the mexican food there...but fuegos is absolutly brilliant. Do not hesitate to eat here. Its amazing. When we go visit Southport again we will definitely be back.

Had a great meal at this friendly and welcoming Resteraunt. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great lovely burrito and fajitas great sweets would definitely recommend you visit this Resteraunt.

Booked for 7 o'clock in the evening, glad we did as restaurant got quite busy around 7.30. We had the early bird menu, 3 courses for £12.95 with a good choice of starters, mains and dessert. We started with Creamy mushrooms, delicious and a large portion for a starter. Mains, I had the chicken and chorizo served with vegetable rice and a small side salad. Large portion and absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spiciness. My Husband had the chicken burrito on a salsa source base, served with a side dish of veg rice and refried beans, again delicious. Desserts were honeycomb cheesecake and ice cream, more options available. We sat by the kitchen and could see all the dishes were freshly cooked with the Chef continually cleaning and clearing as he went. Will definitely return next time we visit Southport.

Food was unbelievable, service amazing, chefs doing an incredible job in a tiny kitchen with so many tables and quality is spot on. Will definitely be coming back.

went with my mates for a 19th party but one of my friends look underage so they took the wine glasses of the tables even though we are all legal age and we felt awkward ordering alcohol as they presumed we were underage. waiters were all rude and the chefs kept staring at us. service was horrendous and ruined my night .

Couples night out in a place we have never been to after reading the trip advisor reviews. A a warm welcome from friendly staff. The food was pleasant and plentiful but there was nothing stand out special about it. Every time the door opened it let in a huge blast of cold air and people chatting in the door way did not help.

What a shame, this is a great place to eat. Food, prices and waiting service are all superb, but when we came out of the place all our clothes stunk of cooking smells. I mean really stunk, so much so that when we got home everything had to go into the washing machine, overcoats to the dry-ceaners. They have an open fronted kitchen here which doesn't seem to have caused any smelly problems on previous visits, but this time - Yuk! We were seated upstairs, {Saturday night 30th. Nov. 2019} so maybe that added to the problem? Presumably they have kitchen extractor fans, perhaps the filters need changing. Very sadly, we wont be going to Fuego's again because who wants to arrive home smelling like a kitchen bin.

Booked a table for 4 people at 8:15, we weren’t sat down until 9! And two tables of 4 walked in off the street and were seated before us!! Ordered chicken nachos and choked on a fish bone!! Nobody came to ask if everything was ok so I didn’t eat in there. They said sorry and took nachos off the bill but I didn’t actually have a meal in there due to that! Staff were nice but bad experience. Every other time I’ve been it’s been great.

Our meal was beautiful could not fault the food however after explaining twice previously and having mentioned online on the booking I was told that I couldn’t use my taste card, when we told them we had already told other members of staff they went to the kitchen where they spoke about us and giggled, later another blonde waitress with short hair (Becky) came back to the table and explained in a very patronising and rude manor how to use the taste card and if we were unsure to ring after we had booked online? Why when we have already booked a table online???

This little gem is down a side street. If you visit Southport this is a place if you like Mexican food you need to go. We would advise you book we visited on Saturday night and it was busy. The food is nearly good. The staff are so warm and welcoming. We will definitely eat here again would we re in Southport.

What a fantastic restaurant. Went on 14th September and we had the early bird deal which we didn’t think would be on a Saturday but it was- two courses £10.95. I had my favourite Nachos to start - they were the best I had ever had- they were warm but the dips were all melted with cheese all over dips - best nachos I have ever had. I then had a mushroom risotto- the nicest risotto I have ever had too- so very tasty- the meal was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were great - very friendly and helpful.
