Front St Cafe in Gedling

Asked for a bacon and Tom cob with the fat cut off, she basically cut my fat off and fried it then put it on the cob, so I paid £6.50 for a hot drink and bacon fat cob absolutely terrible

If you fancy the chance of an allergic reaction this is the place to eat. Wouldn't bother entering this place. Ordered X2 full breakfast asked to have one with no beans or tomato. Both plates came out with them on. One taken back and returned with just beans, plate taken away and returned with no beans this time but the sausages covered in the juice. Spoke to the lady at the till who had the audacity to inform me that they had cook the meal fresh within 2 minutes, it had taken 15 for it to be brought out in the first place!. Never wanted to give a refund and tried to say it was our fault.

Not very nice at all, big breakfast was not very big, bacon was just fat, sausages were frozen and cheap, the plate was massive but the portion size wasn't, hash brown over cooked, everything tasted greasy, I gave the 2 stars for the cup of tea I had.

This was the first time I had visited this cafe under its new owners and much of the praise I gave it before still applies with the same commitment to friendly service, value for money and general good practice. It is very much a family business and seems to have good appeal for young families as well as older people. The son does well front of house, while the open plan space leaves nowhere to hide for the parents in the kitchen, who take an obvious pride in the way they serve even simple meals. I had a cheese omelette, which was tasty and well cooked with an exceptionally well prepared salad garnish (see photo). There is a lot of competition for this market in Arnold, which is great news for visitors, but the owners of this cafe earn their place among their rivals. Their hard work and commitment to providing value food deserves the support of locals and visitors alike.

I have never had a breakfast so bad.. Made my belly feel rotten.. I will never return I'm never usually so rude but the cheek of serving me the food you did is a joke and I should have demanded my money back.

Been going here for years and never had a bad meal. Staff remember the kids and lollies and are just lovely people.

Went in this morning and the man who was serving had a right bad attitude probably know why but can’t say been in before and the ladies have been brilliant.

Paid £6.50 for this chilli con carne. Pictures actually make it look bigger than it was. Gobsmacked at how bad it actually was and at £6.50? Unbelievable

Myself, my mum and my auntie decided to give this place a try when we found out that it was under new ownership (it was quite a long time ago when I last went,when it was called Fat Boys). On our arrival we were greeted by a lovely, friendly lady (Kayleigh) who took our order. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Front Street Cafe and thank you Kayleigh for looking after us and keeping those cups of tea flowing.

This was our first visit to this cafe. The place is warm and friendly and clean. It was quite busy and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. It’s family friendly and has a good atmosphere. Myself and other half both ordered the full house breakfast and wow 😮 what a breakfast it was. The portion size was great you get 2XL eggs hash browns fried bread bacon sausage tomato beans black pudding mushrooms a choice of toast or bread and butter with either a tea or coffee. The food was so good and nice and hot, plus they know how to make nice tea and coffee. Would highly recommend. Just wish they were open on a Sunday too as I’d go back there again for my breakfast tomorrow. All of our food cost a very reasonable £6.50 each and for what you get portion wise it is great value for money. Definitely worth 5 stars 👍🏼

friendly staff warm welcome reasonable prices good food however since cheedham has left it's not the same the menu is more expensive and less of a choice and the portions are considerably smaller a lot of regulars have left since cheedham sold up old Fatboy cafe worthy of 5* but would say a mediocre 2 star now as it's definitely not same lots it's character and warming atmosphere I only eat there once every so often now it simply isn't the same

Staff has always been friendly not only that but the prices are amazing you can get a massive plate full for less than a fiver!

This little cafe is lovely. Always friendy. Massive portions and so much choice on the menu. Will always tweek things if theres something you dont like. Read the other review that gave 1 star and think they maybe mixed up with somewhere else. Worth a visit if you are in Arnold and want to support a small business.

This is by far the worst cafe I have ever been too not only did it take 40 minutes for 2 standard sandwiches they also managed to mess the order up forgetting sausages on a sandwich after being sat and ignored for half an hour a "waiter" came and asked if we were waiting on drinks haha, would rate lower but 1 star is the lowest.

Great value, massive portion sizes and all the staff are very helpful and always friendly. The kids love their ice cream made milkshakes. Could do with better sausages.
