Enjoyed a quick gelato sweet treat. Staff are very polite. The shop is also nice and clean too. Definitely worth a try if you have a sweet tooth

Went to Caffe Gelatto today and it was fabulous!!! We tried their amazing fresh pizzas to start and they were fantastic. Then, desserts such as gelato and cookie dough were brilliant, food was a 10/10 and so was the service, kind staff who were quick to help. Overall, great food, great service and good prices. I would recommend this place!!

Fab place. Great to be able to book a table as they are very busy. The hot cookie dough with ice cream is absolutely divine. Only problem is being able to finish it all. Tastes amazing. A lovely treat for us all. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff, lovely food 👌

Staff are amazing and good Ice-cream, deserts and coffees however the smell of grease hits you the moment you enter the door. It actually makes me feel sick. I would have walked straight out but my daughter loves the ice-cream. They’ve either recently stopped using their extractor or it has broken as it hasn’t always smelt like dirty oil but it needs sorting! Needed to wash mine and my daughter’s clothes as soon as we got home as we stank of grease! I will go back but will take food out if the smell is as bad as the last couple of times I’ve been.

We have been to this place a few times now. We usually have avocado on sour dough toast and eggs benedict with hot drinks. This costs around 18 or less. The staff are really nice. The cafe is warm and clean Brilliant tasting food with decent portions and great price. Highly recommended

Went for a last minute family tea-time treat. We often visit for ice-cream but were tempted by the varied choice of meals. Food was fresh, delicious and devoured! We took the leftovers home and left a little room for desert which was equally yummy. Staff were friendly, helpful and smiley which helped to create a lovely atmosphere. We will be back!

Not sure where to start, the unreasonably harsh reviews I have now read since eating here earlier today, the staff or the menu. I was looking for places to eat in Hull and initially overlooked this spot. However, I was able to find the menu online and was surprised to find out how big the café menu is, including vegetarian options. I'm guessing that most customers will go there for the homemade ice-cream, coffee and cakes. We were there for lunch and were far from disappointed. The pizza was of the standard of a good Italian restaurant and the Italian flatbread was excellent too. We both had to try the ice-cream while there which was as good as expected. Will have to try one of the selection of homemade cakes next time! The bill was very reasonable for what we had, good value for money. We didn't seem to have the issue a few reviewers have found in conversing with the staff who we found to be chatty and friendly. Anyway, can't believe this place doesn't have 5 stars on Tripadvisor. Have been to much worse places that do!

We have just returned from a lovely visit to Caffe Gelato - full bellies and happy faces! The choice was great, the price was more than reasonable and the staff were friendly and professional. We often visit here and have never been disappointed with the delicious desserts!

Ordered some food from here with my partner and the teenage girls that served us didn’t really conversate with me or greet me at the till, when the food came there was an item of food missing so i told the girl that brought the food that it was missing, she then went back to the till and was sniggering with the other staff and staring at us. She then came back to me and told me that i didnt order it when i clearly did, she proceeded to tell me that i had to come back to the till and pay extra for the item of food that i asked for at the start. All round rude and ignorant girls, wont be returning.

Cafe Gelato is a family favourite of ours whether it's one of the kids birthdays, a cheeky pancake breakfast, brunch with the girls or a bite to eat with the other half. We love it here. Since living in Hull for the past 5 years, we have never had any issues with any of our visits. The staff are always very polite and helpful. Today we had the lovely Smilte who we've seen quite a few times before and she's always been really nice. Today was no different. Had lunch with the Mr and as always, the food was great, service excellent and will never be a question about our return!

The food is fine but the attitude of the people there is crap. I ordered a delivery and some of it didn't turn up, so called and they insisted it had been sent and refused to do anything. They suggested I take it up with the driver who clearly didn't have it when I saw him. They just don't care. Don't order from here, there's plenty of other nice restaurants around.

I have had many lunches and deserts from here over the years and the food never disappoints. The staff here are very friendly especially the young, polite lady Megan who went out of her way to make my children feel special which isn’t easy in the current circumstances. She is a credit to this lovely cafe.

I have ordered a Phat Burger during the lockdown and it was the best burger I’ve ever had in Hull - even if it was delivered at home! Prime quality ingredients, fair prices, plenty of choices. Highly recommended

Ordered £40 worth of food from here the burgers where raw the mince still red in the middle wouldn’t even give it to my dog the waffle I ordered the banana was black rang the store several times they refused to answer JUST EAT has opened an investigation against them as for the staff their attitude is disgusting I’ll be sending these photos to the hull daily mail not so much as a “SORRY” from this vile disgusting place! AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES THE MINCE IN THE BURGERS IS RAW ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

We went there for a girls lunch out. The food was very good and we always go back because of the food. However, the staff needs improvement as they tend to be quite rude and unhelpful. Also I find leaving the cutlery on the table in the manner they do, quite unhygienic, and when I asked for new set, the staff was not happy about it saying that “there’s cutlery already on the table”.

It seems that they get the order wrong every time we visit, this time we had to ask where our drinks were as they had been completely forgotten. Previously we've had the wrong tables order. Or the wrong pizza. It's crazy how it's so consistent in its badness.

Visited with my friend after eating at a local restaurant & we just wanted a hot drink.We ordered 2 hot chocolates & when they arrived we had to take them back as they was not very hot, in fact only Luke warm. They was quickly exchanged. The staff not very friendly. Whilst was was sat chatting one of the staff dropped something we water in which splashed all over my friend. My friend issues a walking stick & as well has going up her arm was on the floor near her feet. When the staff came to take the empty cups away my friend mentioned about the water up her arm & also on the floor & the girl just laughed & walked away. I telephoned the next day & one of the staff that was on the night before was apparently the manager & she just said to her knowledge it wasn’t much water & would check the cctv & call me back, guess what i never heard from her again. Appalling service. The one on new land avenue is far better

My daughter had uses this place when she up at uni. So she took us when we went up other day. Food was great. Brought some tasty cakes home they were delicious too. Carnt wait for next visit

I went with my elderly mum, who walks with a stick and struggles to stand. Despite there being 7 staff on, she was ignored at the counter for ages and eventually complained at the lack of service. When our order came, the server had written “RUDE PERSON” in big letters on our receipt. A waiter then notice the receipt and swiped it off our table. When we asked for it back, he denied it existed! The manager apologised but we felt so humiliated by their treatment of my mum.

I came here with 6 kids and 4 adults and sat in a booth.Kids all had ice creams, waffles, drinks, and cakes. Total £36 for everyone.Really fast efficient service. Great portion sizes. Handmade wood fired pizzas from £6.50, really delicious.If you want to treat the kids without breaking the bank, you can’t fault it.

Gelato and ice cream fabulous Trip marred as no longer use loose tea. Tea arrived cold and with a bag half dipped within the cage for the loose tea. Staff very apologetic but very young and inexperienced. More support needed.

I have been here many times and it has always been ok. Myself and partner visited yesterday evening and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Ferero Roche pancake. I have to say that the only thing that tasted like ferero roche was the actual chocolate on the side. The toppings was litteraly strawberries, chocolate sauce (not hazelnut choc) and crushe up flake. Certainly not what I would expect if you call it a ferrero roche pancake. My partner had the reeces pancakes with a scoop of bounty ice cream on the side. The ice cream had a long thick black hair in it. We were mortified. My partner did take his plate back and was offered a new desert however it really put him off from there. At least we should have been offered our money back. The concern I have is that I did not witness the full tub of ice cream being taken aware and I suspect that it was still left there contaminated from the hair. We certainly will not be returning.

As a family, we love Frizza Caffe Gelato on Princes Ave. Their pizza is delicious and we love the gelato. Our kids particularly like the Unicorn Ice cream. My favourite is chocolate fudge brownie and also salted caramel. The atmosphere is always very pleasant with a diverse range of people/families and people of all ages. Babies, students, couples, families, elderly people...

Went on Weds with 2 friends. Ordered a pud with ice cream each and they were all amazing- Ferrero Rocher cheesecake, GF choc fudge cake & Reeses peanut butter cake. Utterly delicious.

Ordered Cookie Monster pancake. Turned up with no ice cream or no whipped cream and was cold. The pancake was stale along with crumbs of Oreo horrendously presented!!! Go to kaspas in town much better!!!!!

Order food tonight from here rather than the newland Avenue store. Food came cold and without the ice cream or whipped cream that we ordered on the side, as well as missing items such as Oreo cookies and chocolate sauce on the pancakes my boyfriend ordered. Also arrived nearly 30 minutes late. When we tried to call the restaurant to tell them they had made a mistake they did not answer the phone. Very isappointed, especially considering he prices they change! £7 for pancakes and they can’t even get the order right!! Will not be ordering from here again.

We've visited Caffe Gelato a few times but only for ice cream and coffee and decided to try the lunch options on this visit. The adults ordered 3 different burgers and 1 savoury waffle, my 4 year old ordered meatballs from the sides and baby shared bits from everyone's plates. Burgers were excellent, good size and great value for money, the 4 year old liked her meatballs and flat bread, the Greek waffle was good and a huge portion the only criticism of our food was that the savoury waffle was sweet, you'd expect a savoury waffle to be savoury not just a regular sweet waffle with savoury ingredients. We all had gelato and coffee for afters and no complaints there.

Came here with my family last night and ordered some cake to take home after we'd been out for a meal..the portions were quite small and the cake was tasteless..very disappointed. .john and jill

Popped in last Sunday for a bite. Had a very nice burger topped with pulled chicken and slaw and my wife had the veggie version and they very reasonably priced. Both were very tasty and my burger was twice as big and half the price of the burger I had at a nearby establishment the week before! Its not that it was massive, it was what I would call a normal size burger, but my £12 "Mini me" burger I had at Pearsons was minute!

We always love the ice-cream in this cafe but the espresso/Americano is really disappointingly bitter. Savoury waffle should taste savoury, not sweet like it did today!

Tables outside not cleared or wiped for ages. Had to clear own table. Food was nice but service wasn’t great. Fries came, then Mexican wrap 5 mins later then salmon waffle 5 mins after that. Ice cream was nice and large portions.

As we visit this cafe frequently; both for ice cream and for the occasional treat tea, we chose to bring our family here while visiting us from France. Admittedly, we arrived much later than usual as we didn’t realise they were open quite so late and therefore seized the opportunity to treat our guests to some great food. We ordered; some choosing sweets as mains and all was well. Some of the food arrived so we tucked in whilst others had to sit and wait ...and wait. Eventually, we could no longer politely wait and we asked where the missing plates were. No apologies were made but the food eventually arrived, apart from one plate which we again had to ask for. No apologies once again, only this time we were asked if we’d like it to take away. As we had ordered the food to eat in and enjoy as a family together, this made no sense. The food was nothing amazing though we ate most of it as we were hungry. The service wasn’t great either. We genuinely feel let down as we had been raving about this place. We will still visit for ice cream but will not be eating here again as it was a complete waste of money and was a big let down for us. A real shame.

What a lovely Surprise.....just having a lazy shopping day with my other half and she took me into here for a spot of lunch...Perfect!

Would like to recommend this place for their choice of vegan options, efficient service and willingness to adapt. As a new vegan I was recently encouraged that they have a number of savoury and sweet options I can eat and have a selection of different milks to choose from so I can still have a coffee or milkshake. The staff are fab and polite and it's lovely to see this side of Princes Avenue finally have an establishment that seems to be doing well.

I had the white chocolate and raspberry cake which was delicious, however I had to remind them that I had ordered a coffee as well this came after I had already finished eating.

This was my first visit here. My son & his friends go on a regular basis and suggested I try it. My partner and I had the Phat Burger with wedges, this was very tasty and great value too. We both enjoyed 2 lattes each and decided we'd try a pudding too. So I had the M&M; cookie dough with a scoop of vanilla ice cream & hot chocolate sauce, while my partner chose the peanut butter cookie dough which also came with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. We will be returning to try the many delicious ice-creams they have on display. There's something to tickle everyone's taste buds here so if you get the chance go and enjoy. Friendly staff and this place gets very busy but it's a must to try.

Went for dessert after a meal at another restaurant on Saturday

I recently came here with my mother as I'm a bit obsessive over ice cream and having visited this place's sister venue on Newland Avenue I was expecting a lot an it did not disappoint. So many flavours to suit any mood or taste. I had a lemon meringue pie and white chocolate ice cream mix which were so so good. The only thing I would say was the service wasn't 100% but they were extremely busy. My mother thoroughly enjoyed it and they do so many different flavours, there's no way you could be disappointed!

I went with a friend for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon. I've been with my daughter as well. I love the place. I love the savoury waffles! They make a nice change and they taste great. I love the coffee too. The prices are reasonable and I would really recommend the place.

We turned up at Caffe Gelato on Saturday with a group of 16 and we were looked after lovely by all the staff as they had to find a place for all of us to sit.

Took myself and four kids for a scoop. Friendly staff, spacious and tasty ice cream. Simple and Perfect! Will definitely go back and much preferred over the one on Newland
