Frites-Leith Walk in Edinburgh, City of

Waited 2 and a half hours. No updates beyond 'preparing your order' until it suddenly jumps to Delivered. No sign of a delivery driver, no attempt at a delivery. Be aware. There is aboslutely zero way to directly contact the location.

I’ve order frites yesterday and it was a medium portion with peri peri salt and melted cheese. It was great, however, the amount of salt that I tasted in almost every bite is unbelievable. I hope this is a mistake rather than the actual recipe the employees follow. The food is great and I will definitely try something different next time!

Having been to the Lothian rd branch a few times I thought I would be safe trying the Leith walk branch as I was in the area. I ordered the dirty fries in a small £5.95 the..... "Italian Garden An elegant escape to the secret garden! Cheddar and green peas topped with mouthwatering Italian sauce, drizzle of delicious basil pesto and finished with our fruity and nutty parmesan cheese" My order was quickly given to me within two minutes. I normally have to wait roughly 5-8mins at the other branch. The reason, my chips weren't fresh. They are hard and crispy and barely warm. They seemed like old refried chips. With like dry bits of ends of small chips, not many actual long chips. The cheese added was not melted, since no heat on the chips. Then a thick layer of cold Italian sauce made it even more colder , the sauce was extremely salty. Felt extremely thirsty after a few chips. And could barely see any parmesan. Barely any taste of pesto. After a few bites , it ended up in the bin. Me and my three children who sampled it didn't like it at all . Waste of £5.95 , unpleasant box of chips.

Over £4 for a small serving of chips with so much sauce I had to tip them out and wipe each chip off on a napkin to make them edible.

Really rude member of staff, large queue and she spent a lot of time eating and phoning someone at the back, maybe she was on her break but there was no one else there and it would’ve been polite to say it would take 15 minutes for instant food

We ordered two milkshakes with our food; only one arrived. Frites have no contact info on JustEat to correct this mistake. This has happened to us several times before ordering from here but we thought it might have changed. I am not going to be eating here again.

Tasty fries with tasty toppings. Pre set options and choose your own sauces. Good for a quick bite, portions more filling that you’d think!

Tell me you're Belgian without telling me you're Belgian: "I would love it if they had Andalouse or Samouraï sauce!". Very good chips, but these sauces should be on the menu to be 100% the Authentic Belgian taste !

I asked for Cheddar Cheese, got Gravy instead. As for the delivery, the map was inaccurate, which caused difficulties for the driver to find my place. Other than that, everything was fine.

Always get my weekend fix from Frites @ Leith walk. It’s my son’s favourite. Very friendly staff, escpecially Marwa who’s almost always here on Saturdays.

£9.00 for chips cooked in lard with canned chicken and brown source. How is that "Mexican"? There is no warning or notice that it's not real meat. Sad! Avoid!

I really don’t like the combination of chicken and fries. The fries don’t taste properly and together it’s actually not a nice combination at all.. sauces also not good tbh. Maybe even better with mayo and ketchup instead of this chicken sauce.. Sorry I wish I could have liked it.

I got wrong order. I ordered peri peri chicken but it was boiled chicken with no taste.

I used to go quite often but the recent price increases (now £6.85 just for a large fries with nothing on it) has put me off. I ended up buying a medium and don't think I'll be back unfortunately.

The food tasted amazing don't get me wrong- but the large was TINY for the amount we each paid. Paid £23 total for two tiny boxers, absolutely not worth it.

That was not a nice experience. The lady was not interested in doing her job. The fries vere raw and not tasty at all.

Peri Peri isnt really difficult to make something tasty. However, the pulled chicken was cold and looked like sick. Chips werent cooked long enough, soggy as hell from this watery tasteless sauce on the bottom. I hadnt eaten anything all day, but still I couldnt take a second bite.

Got one of the loaded fries with my daughter. Very good and pretty cheap.

La comida buena, nos pedimos las de pollo tika y estaban bien ricas. La dependienta tenia pocas ganas de trabajar y atendía un poco a desgana. Para comer algo rápido y llenarte barato es un buen sitio.

Takeaway fries. Let me say at the outset that these are very large portions. My partner and I took two L portions and barely managed to eat. Yummy Curry Slow cooked pulled chicken dressed with a savoury Yummy curry sauce, cheddar, green peas and garnished with fragrant coriander. And Peri Peri Chicken Poutine Slow cooked pulled chicken loaded with cheddar and green peas, covered with our signature gravy and topped with Peri Peri sauce. Very good and hot, despite the sauce still crispy fries. Minus: too much salt.

Nice crisp chips, and better than normal chip shop chips, but they were loaded with so much salt that I couldn't eat them. In Belgium they don't add salt to the chips at all, because the sauces contain salt. The chips in Belgium taste far better, and people can also add their own sauces, which would be preferable, because only the top chips in my portion had a little sauce over the top of them, and all the rest of the chips were bare. I was disappointed.

Very good chips! Some of the pre made options don’t showcase the chips well. Been on 5 occasions. Of those one was fantastic, 3 were very good, one was poor. Exploring a menu will find less tasty options in fairness. Staff lovely and friendly! Leith and Lothian road both provide good service. No dine in option.
