Frida Cafe & Bistro in Camden

Popped in here off the cuff for an early dinner. We were the first in, but it soon started to fill up around us. The service was fantastic, the food excellent & the margaritas delicious!

Lovely little Mexican restaurant, small and friendly. Prompt service and decent food. Would recommend.

Very delicious food and great service

Un gran lugar para una reunión improvisada que rápidamente movieron mesas para acomodar a nuestro grupo grande. Los tacos de quasedilas de Margheritas todos buenos y sabrosos el restaurante se llenó rápidamente de lugareños y asiduos por lo que debe tener un buen seguimiento. Las porciones eran buenas y pedí una quasidila desde el comienzo a £ 8. 95 pero me dieron un plato principal a £ 17 así que esa es la única desventaja y la porción era demasiado, pero todavía estoy contento de apoyar a una pequeña empresa.

A few steps from overcrowded Camden. Good selection of meals and drinks. smiling and helpful staff. The food was very good, just missing a bit of mexican authenticity and originality.

Blown away. Just called in and wow what a great place. A small restaurant but packs a punch. Great service, I felt like I could ask them anything and they’d try snd help. The food came quickly and just green food done well with an authentic touch. Good range of drinks and I’ll be back ! I wish more small businesses would try this hard for their customers.

La comida llegó rápido y solo comida verde hecho bien con un toque auténtico. Buena variedad de bebidas y volveré! Ojalá más pequeñas empresas se esforzaran tanto por sus clientes.

Small place with exquisitely friendly staff, even though we hadn't booked they found us a table. Enchiladas are delicious as are the nachos. We didn't try their cocktails but they looked great. Price more than reasonable for London. Advised!!

Visited on a Monday night and the vibe was nice and peaceful. The music wasn’t too loud, and the service was fast and friendly. Lots of options on the menu, and ideal for sharing . The drinks menu was good. The food was very tasty. It was quite pricey but the portions are large, and the experience as a whole was good.

Absolutely recommended! We were in London for a week and had 4* meals here during that time. That actually says it all😃. Everything on the menu tasted good and the breakfast was great too.

More like a pub than a place to eat. Feel like I was outside London. The food was mid but priced very high. Service was so annoying. Kept getting touched up by the waitress cause there was no space when I was trying to pay

Visitamos Frida como parte de una larga estancia de fin de semana en Camden. Nos encanta nuestra comida mexicana y no tenemos muchos restaurantes mexicanos cerca de nosotros en absoluto. El entorno era realmente personal, el personal era amable. Los precios eran muy razonables, a veces hay un impuesto masivo de Londres que viene con comer fuera, pero no lo sentía aquí. Los platos principales eran encantadores. La comida se mantuvo caliente durante mucho tiempo. La única pequeña crítica si yo eligiera uno, los churros eran solo 4 y se sentían muy comprados en la tienda. He tenido churros en otros lugares y eran masivos y venían con una variedad de chapuzones. Absolutamente volvería de nuevo y recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquiera que haga lo mismo

I’d like to begin on a good note, the waitresses were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately, this was the only positive about Frida Camden. My friend and I ate here this evening for the first and last time. Sadly to say, there wasn’t much cooking that went into the dishes! From store bought tortilla chips (which take a matter of minutes to make, just by using flour tortillas, cutting them and deep frying) to beans out of a tin, salsa from a jar and Guacamole which I’m sure is bought frozen. I had a chicken burrito which I was unable to finish, it was that awful. Unseasoned shredded chicken which tasted like it was in a tomato stew, nothing was grilled including the tortilla it was wrapped in! I cannot refer to the people heating up the food as chefs, because it was clear they were not! My food was most certainly pre made and warmed up in a microwave. I’m not sure where these high reviews have come from, but please be advised this is NOT authentic Mexican food and to my fellow chefs and foodies you will definitely be able to suss them out if you dare to visit. I truly wish I could have given a better review, as I said the service was good, but the food was extremely disappointing. My advice is to hire chefs who are well versed in Mexican cuisine and do a relaunch to promote!

Despite circling the heart of Camden, it provided a cozy atmosphere - not too busy - at a fairly decent price. Some drinks were cheaper than the nearby Weatherspoons!! The food quality was delicious with more than enough meat filling in the burrito (not packed with rice), and the mojito cocktail pitcher was refreshing and had a good portion of juice and alcohol. The only recommendation would be to highlight the mexican culture on the menu more by labelling specific styles like barbacoa beef, and have similar song choices. Keep up the good work, highly recommended!

The breakfast was lovely! The restaurant is small, but very quaint. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We also felt the prices at the time were fairly reasonable for London. We would recommend for breakfast!

TBH this was the least Mexican tasting Mexican food I've ever had lol. The dishes had some like almost bbq or chili flavor added to them instead of spice. Which made the quesadilla taste like BBQ chicken rather than ya know a quesadilla. Lol

Had an amazing experience yesterday at Frida Camden! The margaritas were perfectly balanced, and the quesadillas and tacos were bursting with flavor. We also indulged in tequila shots and finished with the best churros we've ever had. The service was outstanding—attentive and quick. The chips with guacamole and salsa, along with the chili con carne, were particularly disappointing. Rather than being freshly prepared, these dishes appeared to have been hastily assembled using cheap, store-bought packets. Having eaten here multiple times when visiting London, my main impression stays the same. The staff are great, they provide a helpful service. Both food and drink are always flavourful. The actual restaurant itself is small however is very comfortable. I would personally recommend the different choices of Tacos they have on offer.

If you like Mexican food and aren't picky about vegetables, this is just like eating at a Mexican restaurant in the southwest USA. If you are picky about veggies in your food, they have some ribs and chicken wings, get those. The margaritas are killer good.

I have never hsd enchiladas with no sauce, they have always come with sauce. All the dishes looked the same. Sorry but not authentic.9

I had the worst take away I’ve had in a long time from here. Firstly it took an hour to arrive (I live 6 mins round the corner by car), then when it did arrive the burrito I ordered came in a foil box with no foil on the outside. The vegetables inside were mush and I had asked for extra sour cream and that didn’t appear either. I’ve had Mexican food all around the world, so feel like I know what a good burrito should taste like. But this place is expensive and bad. AVOID!

This place had the friendliest and most attentive customer service I've had in many years! Extremely nice staff that makes you feel genuinely welcome. Spicy and frozen margaritas were amazing, and so were the various dishes. Very much recommended!

The place is fine. Not the best Mexican food I had but it was good enough. It’s on Camden High Street so probably bit of a tourist trap.

The food was really good, I loved it. Friendly waitress and ok, good atmosphere right in the middle of Camden. I recommend taking a visit and trying some dishes out, I dont think you will regret it, I most certainly didn't

Fabulous. Had an American breakfast. Pancakes. Bacon , sausage, hash browns. Strawberry and blueberries. Lovely runny fried egg . Covered in maple syrup. Served by a very happy and friendly waitress. Great decor. Average prices for Camden. £13 for breakfast and a Groovy green freshly made smoothie £6. Would recommend highly.

If you are looking for a truly mexican cuisine, you'll have to visit Frida Camden. Its the best mexican restaurant I have ever been in. The avocado salad, chicken quessadillas and tacos were really tasty. Also, the waitress was really nice and sweet. Will come back.

Frida Café and Bistro is an excellent address in Camden! Mexican cuisine, healthy, many vegetarian dishes, complete menu with quality products. We enjoyed ourselves healthily (for once...)

Service was good but the food is sub par the chicken fajitas weren't anything to write home about, under seasoned, the pico de gallo, was in awkwardly oversized peices and lacked key ingredients, the guac was a bit disappointing too, if It was cheaper it would be OK but you could probably make something nicer with those fajita kits they sell at tesco. And it was more than £17, if it was affordable that would be fine but a sizzling pan does not make up for food quality :\

WARNING. Make sure the evening chef has turned up. We ordered at 6pm and our food looked nothing like the round plump chimichangas that arrived at the table next to us at 7pm. I did ask the waitress if the best chef was working as a joke but she didn't speak English and my Turkish is minimal. She got the mmm breakfast cook to speak to me. Slightly embarrassing. Shame as I'd have waited for food and I will be asking for a discount if I go back 🤠

Tacos are really delicious and nachos is very tasty as well. They are so good at cocktails. If you want modify your drink, they also help you with that. Definitely coming back.

Really disappointing chilli con carne. As i was eating i wished i had just bought a chilli from Wendys. Good service but the food won't see me returning.

A very quiet January Monday this was our first visit to Frida a local Mexican themed restaurant in Camden. There is something for everyone on the menu and our mains of a chicken burger and sea bass were fine. Both dishes came with sides though we had an extra portion of chips with a prawn starter which was very good. There are so many restaurants in Camden it says something that Frida has been in business for a while and they open for breakfast through to dinner. At £50 for 2 (no alcohol on this visit) we thought this reasonable value and we will return to try the fajitas.
