Lovely owner, gave me my coffees for free.

It's a nice space, but the service could be friendlier. The coffee was OK, but nothing special. What annoyed me was that they have a contactless credit-card machine to collect 'tips' alongside the machine for payment. On being told the price, I accidentally tapped the tip machine (it debited £2 or so). They don't offer table service, so I really don't know why anyone would voluntarily add a tip to the already-overpriced coffee prices. The guy in the queue behind me said the same had happened to him on his previous visit. The machine is obviously positioned to deceive. It left a bitter taste.

The church parishioners and staff were so unwelcoming and unfriendly. One visit was enough to put me off for life!

Booked the downstairs hall for a kids birthday party. Beatrice is amazing! She responds to all emails quickly and answered all my questions. The hall was a bigger than I expected and it worked very well for 30 plus children. Thanks Bea for all your help!

One of the best soya mochas I've had in a very long time plus delish American style pancakes. Would happily head back here and spend the afternoon with a book drinking their coffee non stop. 😊

They have their doors wide open and all the heaters on in the middle of winter, in the middle of an energy crisis, with no thought for the environment. I asked about why and was told this is because they want to make sure people know they are open. I’m sorry but regardless of the cafe itself, that’s irresponsible and absurd.

I would not give any stars if possible. The people who run this place are totally dis-honest. Advise anyone booking spaces to hire to stay well clear

Excellent coffee, really good value. Also lovely croissants. Nice relaxed atmosphere and warm staff. Why go to a chain when you get something far better at an independent. Called in whilst visiting our son... wish we had a coffee shop like this where we live!

Cosy and atmospheric, this place is everything I want from a cafe. Friendly barista and delicious cakes. There are loads of power ports for laptops which makes this the perfect place to get some work done.

Love this place for stay and play and the classes, the only trouble is that there are like 4 steps, so you need a hand with the pram. Staff is lovely, always giving us a hand and the coffee n muffins are delicious. There is a toilet with a changing station, very helpful!

Great coffee and croissants. Decent breakfast menu. A good venue for random activities too (salsa, yoga, mother and baby classes etc)

BEST COFFEE AROUND. It's been a pleasure to get to know Nadia and the girls at Fresh Ground. I'd definitely recommend popping in to sample their wide range of cakes and the coffee is genuinely the best in the area.

I went there today , i order avocado on toast It was cold and not be able to eat, staff they were in their own world and got cold coffee and has to beg for my food after 10 minutes,.... Just waste of 9 pounds for a cold toast and avocado plus a coffee Plz do not go there.....waste of money Rude staff! Poor customer service!

Nice little cafe in a busy part of Battersea Rise. I attended a children's party there in the downstairs studio. A great space for it, so long as you bring your own entertainment.

Had a great visit here, the Full English was hearty and my friend who had the yoghurt and granola got an equally big portion, we were happy. Great coffee, my flat white had a bear on it! friendly baristas and homely atmosphere, will be back

I've been to Fresh Ground a number of times now, and I love it. If anyone's in the area I always recommend it to them. The coffee is excellent, there's a lovely atmosphere and the manager, Essy, does a wonderful job of making you feel very welcome. The vegetarian breakfast is well worth having, as long as you've got room for a generous portion!

Fantastic coffee shop! The barista's Esther and Nadia were great and really friendly. I loved the food and coffee that I had and it was great to see the team there enjoying what they do and helping to produce a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend

I cannot sing praises of this cafe loud enough!! One of my favourite spots in London for a reliably well made flat white and fantastic service. They have fun, friendly and attentive baristas who always have time for a chat and create a relaxed atmosphere. The terrace out front is a great place to catch the summer-sun rays, especially with an iced coffee

Food tasted like the colour grey. Waited 20 minutes for 2 slices of bread with nothing with it

Forgot feeding the 5000 this place couldn't feed 3 people. Waited 25 minutes for a chicken salad. Had to ask for my money back as my friends had finished. Their food was bland and tasteless. Hope this was a one off as the decor, coffee and cake selection looked great.

Great place in an easily accessible location. I've stopped by twice when I was traveling through London. I had tea and a croissant. Relaxing.

Probably the worst breakfast I’ve ever had, I didn’t want the full breakfast on the menu so had a word with the really friendly guy behind the bar and told him what I would like no beans no mushrooms no tomatoes just 4 rashers of bacon 2 sausages and two fried eggs one slice of toast and a latte.It arrived after some time,cold latte,4 tiny rashers of streaky bacon,sausages split in half length ways the eggs fried to death hard yolks like almost hard boiled and the slice of sour dough bread hardly saw the toaster. £12 wasted never again I must have payed extra for the grease

Great service and community space here at fresh ground, particularly from the regular evening barista who is always very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast food is fantastic if you ever get a chance to go and great coffee if you need an early morning boost...

Desde entonces, si estoy pasando por alto siempre probar Battersea y parada para un café para llevar. En términos de precio, aunque puede no ser el más barato de la zona, el inglés es abundante y el plato está lleno (a diferencia de muchos otros lugares! ). Un cambio encantador independiente de visitar una cadena de cafetería.

I have been living in this area for nearly 50 years and have walked past here often. When I finally discovered it, courtesy of a friend, I was absolutely bowled over, by the availability and affordability of coffee and food on their menu, the fabulous interior design, the courtesy and friendliness of the staff - and all on my doorstep! What a treasure! I love the vibe here, and will continue to visit!

Very Nice Cafe with a Great environment and awesome staff

Confess that having wandered in because the place looked a bit like a Wetherspoons conversion but I could also see part of the eating area from the pavement, it took me a few moments to work out that this is a church that has a history, is part of an International body and is enthusiastically evangelical. Can't remember whether they had free wifi but before my coffee and tasty snack arrived I had read most of the introduction of the Wiki entry and found the Fresh Ground website for this London base/church. The catering facility seems to attract a predominently young mother and robust retired ladies crew but on my visit there was also a pre lunch influx of everyday Clapham folk. Also there is a general (but not oppressive) benign earnest hospitality and interest in new faces. I did not feel awkward or uneasy but was surprised at how I had got drawn inside thinking that the name on the hanging sign was a subtle pun and that I was approaching a reconditioned ex-nonconformist chapel. No regrets but I didn't sign up. Nor did my visit coincide with the daily morning service or meeting.

It's a very nice place, I'm a Nanny look after twins so I like to go there to have coffee and let the kids play . The only problem is the lift , it's never working. I have a big buggy so I need to leave it outside and if it's raining it's a big problem.

Nice place but make sure you have a couple of hours on your hands. Two of our party have finnished their food whilst the other 6 of us are still waiting for ours an hour later. Very slow, very bad service.

I came here to get some work done. The interior and exterior patio are great. Very fresh, clean, comfy. Staff was alright. Ice latte on point. I got a basic salad with avocado which was fine but a little annoying they didn't take the avocado out the skin just essentially cut it in half so I had to scoop it out at the table which was work you don't want to have to do. The one thing I will note is that I was here around 13:00 during the week and as the day progressed you will encounter lots of mums, kids and prams. It's fine but just note it if you are looking for a spot to work just be aware.

For a trendy looking clapham brunch spot this place had promise, but my scrambled eggs were overcooked, smoked salmon was tasteless and promised sourdough bread was actually white bloomer. Boyfriend's smoky homemade beans were mixed in with Heinz! Won't be back.

Great space, staff and the coffee is amazing

This is a unique place. The coffee shop is the best, and open 6 days a week. On Sundays there is a church service 10:30 am to 12 PM. It is open to everyone.

The chai Latte is incredible and the staff are so great, there is nothing that is too much trouble for them. I got there regularly to work and it is always lovely, it can get a bit noisy as there are normally quite a few kids around but nothing a pair of headphones cant fix. the place is light and airy and amazing to sit outside on a sunny day. Love it!

Wonderful service as well as coffee. A rare occasion when a coffee shop is great both for families with kids and laptop users like me! Thanks to ample space, friendly staff and good wifi. Try ploughman's sandwich and/ or eggs Benedict.

Friendly, cosy, neighbourhood coffee bar. Great coffee and food. They have live music on sometimes and some books and toys for the little ones. Such a refreshing change from the usual corporate coffee chains

Shout out to Fresh Ground! Met some friends from America there this morning, we all agreed our mochas were good and our food was amazing. I highly recommend the Folded Egg on Sourdough with bacon and asparagus - wow!!! thanks Jason and team!

The cakes/pastries are appealing and often homemade, open for breakfast and lunch. The menu is fresh, with inventive combinations of salads, roasted vegetables, cheeses and meats. Time it carefully and you can even avoid the abundant prams and tiddlies! I opted for the hearty onion soup, served with a little pot of cheddar cheese & a wheatgerm roll. Delicious. The breakfast tea came in a generous pot with a large mug, the chocolate and cranberry muffin was not sweet at all, well made, dare i guess...homemade ? I had a homemade fruit scone before which was moorish. The staff are friendly and helpful. The decor is spot on, reminds me of "Foyles" the bookshop top floor cafe. Another menu which i shall have to work my way through. The smashed avocado on toast has my name on it.
