Fresh Fare in Richmond upon Thames

Second time I have ordered a dish and they have sent something different. I won’t be ordering from here again and recommend you don’t either.

I would have left a higher score, but I am so frustrated that this restaurant never reads the notes on orders. I have ordered several times from you and each time give a few very clear requests, which are never acted on. And instead I am left picking out ingredients from food, which family members can’t eat. Please in future read the notes on your orders, or make it clear if changes cannot be made.

Missing the Sweet and Sour Sauce for the chicken balls

the beef dish and the chicken balls don't taste right like the meat is off.. and food came cold too

Completely dry Pad Thai. Had absolutely no sauce on it. Portion sizes way too big and quality of food far too poor.

Took 20 minutes too cook and deliver. Food wasn’t cooked well… been using this place weekly for 5 years but lately it’s been poor and smaller than usual. Sadly I won’t be using again and having to find another place to order from. Goodbye. 😢

I received my order 2hours and 25 minutes after ordering. I had called the restaurant 3 times, who repeatedly told me it would be 20 minutes, 3 times in a row. Eventually they gave me the phone number of the delivery driver. My order was over an hour later than the expected time, and I would like a full refund. Entirely unacceptable.

Told us it had arrived 30 minutes prior to us calling, when we called they said the driver was just leaving the restaurant. The food was undercooked and tasted funny and the majority of our chicken was raw from the chicken balls to the sweet and sour chicken and the Thai green curry. Do not recommend. You will get sick.

Delivery was super quick and food was delicious!

The quality of food is deteriorating, I ordered once last month, the food was well-cooked, but this time the food wasn’t well done, and was flavourless.

Avoid this place like the plague. Will call you when your food is due to be delivered and tell you they can't come because "all the roads are closed" after waiting an hour and 20 mins. Disappointed some friends but they've now died of starvation waiting for this delivery. Google wouldn't let me put -10/10 so I'm putting it here. Best part is they told me the foods ready! Thanks for the hunger tonight was truly an incredible experience.

A two hour wait for a couple of portions of noodles and some spring rolls. Completely unacceptable.

This is now the 2nd tine I had to wait for over 2 hours for my food to be delivered, really unacceptable and win’t go there again. When I asked for my money back this time as a result , they were not interested to do this despite this very very late delivery. Stay away from Fresh Fare as they are very unreliable!

Food was not the same as the night prior. Was drowned in sauce and wasn’t their usual standard.

Ordered 21:10 delivery said21:50 that changed to 22:10 then too 22:30 food arrived 22:35 was with driver for half hour when I’m only in Hampton 10 mins away. Was all soggy and cold. I use this place 3 times a month at least and always say it’s great but today was just terrible. Applied for a refund and got nothing back. Not great as I’ve been using this place for 3 years now. May have to go elsewhere especially as the prices are going up… £7.79 for 4 small bits of cold prawn toast???

wrong dish delivered & food lukewarm

Lovely flavours, but the chicken was boiled and had a rubbery texture. Also, far too many onions bulking the dishes out and not enough sauce.

Fresh Fare is always fantastic and delivered early. Particularly recommend the chicken balls, Szechuan fried rice and hot and sour garlic chicken

Thai menu not very authentic, but very tasty nonetheless, portion sizes by far the best in the area Most Thai food venues in this area are very expensive and not value for money Freshfare are great value for money

Fixed a slight problem very quickly!

£28 for two pieces of haddock, one large chips and a curry sauce. Fish itself was nice, unfortunately the batter was thick, mushy, under cooked and inedible. The chips were cooked though but not crispy and tasted of plastic, the curry sauce was actually very nice. Will just be visiting again.

The lunch box deal at Fresh Fare is great value - any 'main' from a wide range on the menu, served with either steamed rice, egg fried rice or noodles. Huge portions. And a can of soft drink as a bonus.

Awful or terrible. Take your pick. Chicken and chips were horrid and the chicken pie was nearly incinerated from the inside out. Chips were clearly frozen and then fried until they resembled pieces of wood. Should have read the other reviews because this was once a great fish and Chip shop. And so expensive!!

The food is really tasty BUT the main for my ordering was their fantastic toffee bananas but tonight they were beyond disappointing! No toffee at all just soggy banana fritters. Such a shame as they were what set this Chinese apart from the others.

Best Wonton Soup and Hot & Sour Soup!

The food was very delicious and decent price but it was so very late! Luckily still warm on arrival but if we had known it'll be another 45 min on top of the initial 45 min delivery time we definitely wouldn't have chosen them.

We ordered at 18:28, delivery option "asap". The distance to the restaurant is only 950 m. The delivery time was stated 19:15 at first, the food finally arrived at 20:00 which means 1,5 hours after ordering.

I used to consider Fresh Fare as my go-to chinese in teddington/twickenham. Used to recommend and really rate them. The fish&chips is dreadful. The chinese is massively overpriced and huge nosedive in quality. Overcooked, old, mushy, rotten, ancient frozen rubbish for both the chips and fish. Absolutely awful. The chinese food, which is what they used to be good for, is now horrifically overpriced. Literally almost a tenner for a fried rice. Portions are smaller, ingredients less fresh, worse tasting. So disappointed that what was a go-to for reasonably priced and fantastic, well portioned, meat and veg and chilli heavy chinese is now utterly rubbish and double the price. Don't even try it, don't even roll the dice. Untill they change how they price and how they serve it up, don't go.

Food was handled well (no spills on the soup and sauces) plus the arrival time was prompt.

Like others have said, I used to go here and it was amazing. So I was looking forward to getting a late night fish and chip dinner. Why did I not trust my gut insctinct the moment I walked in? It was obvious it is now in new hands. The place was dirty, decrepid, and the food wasn't even in the heater/fryer as you would normally expect from an F+C shop. However, we ordered anyway. I ordered cod + chips, my wife had dumplings. £24!! It was only after we got home that I remembered they had an offer for £10.99 - what happened to that? The fish was disgusting - mushy and tasteless. The chips went from everything from barely cooked, to over cooked. And it was cooked out the back by someone I could just hear shouting. My wife's dumplings (£8) were something that had obviously just been heated up and you would have got something better in Iceland for £1. How disrespectful can you be? To serve up this utter sh1t, charge so much for it, and not even have clean premises. They are just there to grab your money. Even the lack of response from the owners to all these bad comments tells you everything you need to know. Discraceful. If only I had trusted my intuition, or even looked at the reviews to begin with. It is such a shame! A once beautiful local chip shop now turned into a dump of a business. Shame on the owners. If there was ever a business that deserved to close, this is it. You have been warned.

Prices are insane - prawn toast isn’t even one slice of bread for £7.70!!!!!!! Four tiny squares!!!!!Couldn’t taste any prawn either just grease and sesame seeds - chips and battered sausage fine but prices are not worth it, used to be a favourite place but not at that cost! Shame

1 portion fish and chips and one of Sui Mai £25??? It should have been covered I. Gold for that price. And the fish was very poor quality. Shame we did not read the reviews before we went to this place but we will make sure not to return and will not recommend to anyone. The lady who served us was nice though.

Chilli fish was all batter, chicken and vegetables were tasteless.

food arrived hot which is the only positive thing about this order unfortunately. the chicken balls were inedible as they were dripping in oil, there was almost no meat in both main dishes ordered and the chips were all the tiny and hard ones that no one eats. will not be ordering again.

The food was okay but I have had better. The portion of large chips wasn't that good it was like a small portion. I think that the value of money for the meal was a little bit expensive .

Estimated delivery time 19:00 - 19:20. It is now 19:50 and still not here. 30-50 minutes late! The restaurant is engaged. Can’t vouch for the food.

Got entirely a different dish, received beef noodles when I ordered chicken noodles. I had to scrap the entire food. The rest of the food was below average.

Was initially told order would arrive between 8.15 & 8.25 then app told me food was on its way at 8.22 called restaurant at 8.45 as the app was telling me food had been delivered when it hadn't called again at 9 food arrived at 9.10 and driver told me he picked it up from restaurant at 8.45so someone was lying to me!

The app said it was delivered and it wasn’t. It was cold when it arrived and 40mins beyond when expected despite 2 calls to Fresh Fayre. It’s our regular place to order from but after tonight I am not returning.

What I like about this place apart from great food and service is that if you leave a note for the meal like I did asking for extra chilli or a change in something they my actually make it. No one else does. Well done. Great meal.

2 hours late and not even tasty

Great food. Just a bit cold again on arrival. Hampton area. Should not take more than 6 mins to Sri eat the time of order but took 14 so guessing more drop offs.

Delivery time was put back by 30 mins from the original 45 min delivery time. And even then it was 20 mins late (although on Just Eat app it said it had been delivered, which it hadn’t). When the food did eventually turn up it was cold. I don’t think waiting 1hr 40 mins is acceptable, considering I placed the order early in the evening 5:30.

Really late and arrived barely warm. It was a busy night and the delivery was uncharacteristically late. I had to call 3 times for an update.

The status changed to enjoy your food at 18:45 but the actual food turned up at 19:00 hours . I phoned to ask where it was and was told to wait another 15 minutes as it had just left 10 minutes earlier. If this is the case the food hadn’t even left and it was showing delivered. The food was very disappointing

Took nearly an hour to come. I had Haddock and chips, was OK, nothing special. My Husband had a couple of Thai dishes that he said were delicious. Maybe stick to what you're best at!

Chinese Curries. Suddenly fancied a chinese curry, but sadly it was not nice. My home made chinese curry is much better. I will order again, but not their curries.

Everything was fine except the stir fried 3 (seafood) which was horrible. The fish smelled bad and the octopus was so tough I could not bite through it. Shame as food is usually so good.

It's fine because it arrived hot ready to eat just as I requested. Weather is bitterly cold and it's a little bit further than locals so that I appreciate but include free crackers if your going to be that late (up to half an hour I think it were) please. Thanks.

Good quality food but more expensive than other providers and arrived late having already been marked delivered in the app. Had to enquire to be told it was arriving late. Seemed very odd to mark delivered first when they knew it hadn't been.

I am ordering weekly from this place. The food is tasty and price is more than reasonable. But tonight while seating at the table with my husband and my 3 years old girl I found in my dish(luckily in mine and not my daughter) a piece of needle, iron something very thin and sharp. Imagine if my child would’ve ingest that! It’s appalling! I’m scared of eating now, I’ve put everything in the bin. Just eat is offering a £10 refund only for the dish I’m complaining about. It’s just appalling, I can’t

Had a problem with this order as the courier was lost and delivered cold. After calling the restaurant (I use twice monthly and have for 3 years) I was handled like a valued customer and resent my food warm. An hour later but I’m happy with the way the situation was handled. Still the best Chinese in the area. I live Hampton station road.
