1st visit. Nice atmosphere,very clean. Lovely friendly staff. Coffee, cheese on toast with a wee side salad and crisps. Fresh and tasty

Excellent food excellent service. Homemade cakes and tasty hot food and sandwiches. Our first visit but we’ll definitely be back. We only had coffee and cake today but looking at all the tasty meals that past our table, we’ll be back soon for something more substantial. Coffee was very nice too

Great freshly cooked breakfast, good sized portion and a good selection on the menu, quick and friendly service. Will call again.

We went for lunch they sat us at a table just to the right of the front door, we looked at the menu's which are already on the table they looked scruffy worn around the edges, they had minw an my partners favourite meal on the menu which was cheese and onion pie which we both choose I asked the waitress if it was just cheese and onion or was it bulked out with potato she came back and said it had potato in it as it needs to have potato in it to make it fluffy which I find a feeble excuse for bulking out the pie and making it much cheaper to make, so I decided to have a beef sandwich on white bread with chu nky chips, it arrived looked ok until I started to eat it I opened the sandwich to see what the beef was like it had lots of gristle and fat on it but the worst thing was the bead 2 very thin soggy cheapest bread money can buy, very disappointing experience won't be ever going again they are trying to be something better than they are, shame

Excellent food and service We ordered Greek burger and veg Benedict from ‘today’s special menu’ and both were well balanced and filling. Service was pleasant and prompt. I would say, this is excellent value for money.

The staff range from great to down right miserable. The food is very average and expensive I couldn't eat the main ingredient in my wrap but no alternative was offered. The most surprising thing, and I haven't seen this anywhere for years a charge for brown sauce, tomato sauce, mustard etc, my friend asked for mustard which arrived the equivalent of a teaspoon for 0.50 outrageous.

Visited on a Sunday and had such a lovely time with a friend. The food was great and the waiting staff were so friendly and polite. Only downside is we were left with empty plates in front of us for quite a while, but it didn’t effect us too much given how great everything else was!

Excellent service and nice food. Clean environment. Nice environment. Not to busy. Toilet was ok but for drying your hands you could only use paper towels, they would not go in the bin as it was overflowing.

Nice food service was a tad slow, good sized portions on some of the food we ordered. Nice choices on the menu and not too expensive. A little cramped tho.

Lovely little Cafe for a quick bite or drink. Great Vegan and Vegetarian options, and just a fab choice of breakfast/lunch dishes and drinks! Wraps and burgers here are just amazing, delicious even. Was quite busy when we went, but service was super quick and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Also great if you have a sweet tooth, unlike me unfortunately, as they have an amazing choice of milkshakes, ice-cream and desserts! Definitely going again!

Breakfast was good ,little pricy for what it was but the content was good quality .The toast was good quality bread but think been in a warmer after toasting for too long , it was very dry word was naff.The coffee was as pretty poor if i want wishy washy coffee for a pound from Mac Donald's it rated better , it wasn't great for £2. sorry look through my revues your one of only 2 to get a slating , I think the content had promise sausage was very good bacon it was OK . I will try again but start using more coffee its not that expensive.

Always a delicious meal at Fresh. The staff are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The prices are very reasonable. They serve alcohol too. Perfect for Saturday lunchtime/afternoon. You won’t be disappointed.

I have been here on many occasions, generally for breakfast. During lockdown myself and family had takeaway breakfast on a number of occasions. It is definitely the best place in the valley for takeaway breakfast. Fast service, well packaged takeaway. Breakfast is always delicious.

Visited today with my husband for the first time since covid 19 lock down. The food as always was delicious, ultimate breakfast for him and caesar wrap with a side of skinny fries for me. The staff are friendly and welcoming, we felt very safe and comfortable with the protected screens that are situated between each table. Excellent food excellent staff, especially the handsome man with a wispy hair and well groomed beard, he is a credit to the establishment. However I feel the website could use some work as I struggled to get on to the menu to view what I could eat before I arrived. Would I visit again? probably

I Visit here regularly with family and friends I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. Great menu with a large choice for everyone. Having seen a previous comment on here regarding the gentleman who was disappointed with his scone all I can say is we have had many scones and cakes here which we have always found to be fresh. We have always found it to be clean, a lovely atmosphere and the staff to be very welcoming. I would highly recommend people to visit here and see for themselves

This was our first visit to this establishment we called on a Saturday afternoon there were a few people in but not crowdedI ordered a scone and latte and my wife was having an Earl Grey with a slice of coconut cake she enjoyed them. My coffee was hot just as I like it , I can't say the same about the scone it was solid may have been left over from the day before.whould I call again I don't know

This little place is busy and we have had some good food here but this time it fell short. We arrived and 2 other tables who came after us were served first. That did not help. The menu was varied and I do like the meatless options. The soup was ok but the sandwich was a disaster. Dry and not a great filling. I had some salad that was bland so I left most of it leaving hungry and disappointed.

What a fantastic place, excellent food with excellent service to match ..very friendly great selection of food and drink. Will definitely come here again. Highly recommended

Friendly attentive staff without being too pushy. Good choice of food. Could have done with a little more choice for a vegetarian, but the avocado and poached eggs I had was delicious.

It has been a while since we ate at Fresh. Pleased to say it was better than ever!An amazing variety of specials, all fresh and home made. Recommend the Luxury Belgian Hot Chocolate, chocolate heaven.Welcoming staff, fairly priced, all served with a happy smile. We will definitely be returning again, very soon.

Popped in for brunch on a a Sunday morning, having driven up to do an escape room at Lucardo. There’s not much open on a Sunday morning in Rawtenstall and this place was heaving, and rightly so - we each had a delicious and very generous breakfast bagel. The breakfast tea for one was so big I couldn’t finish it. Would come back here when we’re next in town.

Always got to try the cheese con onion pie wherever I go as a good one can make your week. This one did. Gorgeous flavour, lots of cheese, pastry delicious. Chips lovely too. Followed by a gorgeous cake. Yes it's busy, yes it's a bit cramped, yes the staff get overwhelmed at times but so what, the food is lovely and it's packed because it's great.

We eat here regularly as there are not many options for breakfast in Rawtenstall. It’s a small cafe, with tables packed in tightly, so not really suitable for buggies or those of a larger size. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the lunch menu changes regularly. We go for breakfast so there is a standard menu - full English (various sizes), fruit, croissants, eggs (various), porridge etc. There is also a good selection of teas, coffee and juices. Some weeks the food is great, others it is over cooked or the smoked salmon is chewy. There is just no consistency. However, they do serve the best hot chocolate in the North West.

We’ve haven’t been here for over a year since moving house. We can only assume it has changed hands. Not as good - crockery/cutlery was dirty. Staff not very friendly. Food/coffee not bad and the reason for three circles and not less! Shame 😟

Great place for food at any time but my particular favourite here is the breakfast. You can reserve a table which is a good idea as breakfast time is very popular, packed on a Sunday.

Stopped in whilst after visiting Lucardo escape rooms just down the road. This is a great place - lovely staff and excellent food. Don’t leave without a slice of cake!

The food is really nice. The menu is varied and is all reasonably priced. Some of the staff were rude, and the service was slow.

The food here is fantastic with plenty of choice, so much so that we keep returning to try different things. Service is friendly and presentation of food is very modern and aesthetically pleasing. The fact that this cafe is nearly always full just shows how great it is.

Thought we would try somewhere different for lunch on our visit to Rawtenstall, and we enjoyed it. The food was good & well presented, great coffee, the staff helpful & friendly Will definitely call in again when in the area.

I called in for breakfast and had a bowl of granola which was delicious and very attractively presented, Greek yogurt was brought when i asked for it and it also came with a little bowl of seeds, pot of honey and mini bottle of milk. Lovely atmosphere and service. Good choice of other breakfast dishes my companion had crumpets with butter and jam and both had a cappuccino!

This was my first visit here and I must say that I loved the coffee with a choice of strengths and the menu was a breath of fresh air in this little town. The décor was well thought out; quite a classy color combination. The menu was varied and not the traditional choices. Salads and sandwiches were beautifully plated and enjoyed as I did not see much being left. A choice of smoothies was a nice addition with various types of ice cream. Service was friendly. Prices were average. I will make a point of visiting here on my next visit. A great find in this town

Fresh is in such a good location and serves great food. The only down fall I would say is that it is to small for groups. You could only in about 4 to a table max and defiantly couldn’t fit a lot of mums with babies

This cafe is very busy at lunchtimes. We reserved a table, I am glad we did. We had the special wrap and ciabatta, both lovely. My small grandaughter enjoyed chicken goujons and chips. My decaf latte made with almond milk was wonderful.

We attended a Mexican themed evening which was disappointing for many reasons- Live music advertised- didn’t happen-Wide vegetarian choice promised- V limited.Deserts v ordinary-Bill extraordinary and definitely not worth it .

Called in here for breakfast. It was very busy with tables crammed in. Had to move tables as the one we sat at was reserved. Moved to a table which was so close to the entrance for the kitchen it was dangerous for both staff and customer. Eventually got another table. By this time we had ordered our food and received our drinks. Half hour later we were still waiting for our food. There was much checking to eventually be asked if we had actually ordered - well we had told a waitress who had written it down. It had obviously been passed over so we told her to forget it and left.

Dropped in on spec. Service good. Menu quite varied. I had one of the specials which was a braised beef offering,plus a beer. Prices are reasonable . I think it benefits from being smaller and more welcoming than similar establishments. I’d certainly return

Just love the Deli. It starts when you walk through the door.....usually someone says - 'hello' with a lovely smile! Must admit, like it so much, take my visiting friends for breakfast, l meet friends for coffee and lunches and have been to their special 'theme' dinner evenings and now learnt yesterday, they are opening Saturday evenings......hurray, what the town badly needs (in my personal opinion of course).It is a small, intimate space with a fantastic choice of foods and everything so well presented on the plate too. Wines and beers available also which is a welcome touch with lunch. Specials board daily and excellent choice of ice-cream if that is your fancy - not mine! Ha ha!Give it a try, sure you won't regret it.

This is our First visit to Rawtenstall and the Fresh Cafe Deli.. We was very impressed with the quality of the food,very helpful and friendly Staff. It is a very good venue,where you can take someone for a special day out.There is a relaxing atmosphere.All food is Fresh made. There is a good choice of food on the menu,and well presented. Not to be missed!!!

Having called in for lunch one afternoon we noticed some leaflets advertising specials evenings. We decided to give the Italian Night a go as £22.00 per person for a three course meal it seemed good value. We both had the fried chicken livers which were excellent. Followed by Penne Arabbiata and Penne Salmon. Again both were cooked and seasoned really well. The Arabbiata was packed with flavour and plenty of chorizo. I've eaten this in other Italian restaurants and it hasn't been half as good as this was.The service was great also, a very pleasant young lady called Lorna.

A great start to the day at Fresh... the food was tasty, the service was quick and the whole atmosphere was what I expected from a business located in the Bank St area of Rawtenstall. Will return and would recommend.

I have been a regular customer of the Deli for several years now, and previously very satisified but I regret to say that in many aspects the service and quality have declined significantly - all it would seem in the pursuit of maximising profit. In general the place has become more crowded with less space between tables (consequently much noisier when fully occupied). There appear to be fewer service staff at peak times and although they remain friendly and helpful when they can be, they also appear to be more harassed and pressurised, resulting in service which is not good, slow and sometimes inexperienced.On spec we went for a Sunday breakfast on 7th May with my daughter and young family ( hence 4 adults and 2 children). Sunday opening is at 9.30 and we arrived at 9.40. The place was full with some tables marked as reserved - the waitress however managed to find us a table as someone was leaving just as we came in - all well and good we thought - sadly not so.I normally love this little cafe and its food so it gives me no pleasure to write this but rather than go overboard with detail I'll just summarise the main problems we encountered :-After seating us the waitress did not attend to us for at least 20 minutes after which she came and took our drinks orders and food requirements.A further 20 minutes later the drinks arrived15 minutes later the waitress came over very apologetically to say there would be a delay because they had been trying to cope without a chef but one had now been foundTen minutes later she came back to say that they could not complete orders for two Eggs Benedict dishes ....because they had run out of Hollandaise sauce.Fortunately we had had a lot of catching up to do as a family so we were talking for one and a half hours after sitting down before our meals arrived - several of which we noted were not to the usual standard we have come to expect.We did not feel that complaining would improve things as the staff themselves just looked too harassed and all we wanted to do was have breakfast and get on with plans for the rest of the day, so we left quickly after settling the bill which was reasonable if everything had been OK but gave no recognition of the poor service - in fact the girl on the till apologised that the kitchen staff had lost our food order and asked us to recall our orders so she could tot up the bill.So in summary; very slow service, harassed staff, overcrowded, food not up to the usual standard. Sadly we have heard others make similar comments over the past months, so I feel this is not a one -off and we will take some persuading to go there again.Cafe owners please note - I think I am right in saying that most of your customers were happy in the past and would be in the future to pay slightly higher prices to have pleasant efficient service from calm and friendly staff, with great food in an environment with better personal space and a relaxed atmosphere. So making a profit need not be at the expense of cramming customers in, having smaller portions of lower standard food and stressing staff and customers alike

Called Sunday morning for breakfast . On entering the place was only 2/3rds full but all empty tables were dirty . A waitress soon approached us to ask which table we would like , and then in turn cleaned it for us . The table we choose was very unstable , and we had to turn the table to level it , meaning I was pointing out towards the main pass way for service and the route to the customer toilets, which wasn't most comfortable. However all the other tables were still dirty , small and very close together, and crammed in . We ordered from a limited menu and decided on sausage and bacon ciabattas . I ordered a can of Diet Coke and a large latte also .My cold drink came in a warm glass and was flat , when I made this aware to the young waitress she swapped it for me to the can of Coke I originally requested without question. When the breakfast came it was presented well , however wasn't over hot and the bacon was over cooked , which I do not mind , but my partner was disappointed. I asked for my sandwich to have an egg added , which I assumed would be fried , but came topped with scrambled egg . Odd choice , but seemed to work . The ciabatta bread rolls seemed greasy , and chewy like they had been microwaved. Other tables around us seemed to be waiting a long time for drinks and service , and the place seemed a little under staffed and unorganised , which with it being so small I was surprised at . Price was reasonable in keeping with the local competition, but the overall service and standard of our visit was only average .

Had the fabulous Garlc mushrooms, what can I say delicious, and my daughter had the cajoling chicken skewers which she really enjoyed.

Went here as a party of 8 adults & 2 children for breakfast and all the food was well cooked, hot & tasty, the staff were really nice and friendly. Looking at the menu and the various boards dotted around the walls showing what else you can have to eat during the day, this place will be a definite revisit.

Visited On a Saturday with my sister,very busy but managed to get a small table.Waited 15 minutes before we got our drinks. 0rdered two toasted sandwiches, when one of them arrived was missing tomato, took away then came back with mine, my sister' sandwich was cold and mine was hardly cooked. We were offered complimentary drinks and it was explained that they were very busy but if we had been told this at the beginning that there was a delay we could have had the option to wait or go.All in all we were there for 1 and half hours.I had visited before and had waited over an hour last time but thought I would give them another try.The waitress was very apologetic and took our drinks and chips off the bill but sorry I don't think I will be visiting again.

Very friendly service ,lovely food ,unfortunately the toilets let this place down .The one toilet is men and ladies ,the floor was wet and dirty ,the baby change mat was on the floor in a corner not suitable for changing a baby .

A busy Saturday was what we expected, but the lovely waitress who greeted us as soon as we arrived, unreserved, helped us out with a table. We were incredibly impressed with the way that the girl remained calm even though the cafe was heaving, full with customers. She gave us the time to settle down and have a look at the menus and get comfortable and she knew exactly when we would be ready to order. She knew the menu great and although there were a few questions to ask for the meal as to what preferences I would like, she kept it very professional. I am happy we got talking to her as she was like us, not local (she was from Wigan or Warrington) but she had a very good knowledge of the area and we went straight onto her recommendations of where to head to complete our day. We have booked onto the steak night as it was recommended and we had a look at the menu and it looks delicious! We can't wait to wine and dine with the delicious food and great company. Tables were kept clean and so was the cutlery. I was very impressed with the food, however the drink did arrive once the food had already arrived, but that was handed to us with a "I am so sorry for the wait" and it was completely fine with us! Food was reasonably priced considering the standard of it and the scones are delicious as well as the cakes. (Try the chocolate and the lemon drizzle - mmm!) Overall, a 5* experience. Thank you Fresh Deli and thank you to the waitress, you made our experience.

Visited today as a treat for Mother's Day. Overall the food was okay and freshly made but nothing special. The menu on the website doesn't match up to what is advertised in the shop which is a bit disappointing. We requested the bill and waited over 10 mins, l felt that the waitress was ignoring us. We had to ask again for the bill and had no apology for waiting. Not a very well organised establishment from my side of the counter.

Busy place with a lot of tables reserved on a Saturday lunchtime. Interesting menu & specials, nicely made food, pleasant if rushed service. Everything seems genuinely freshly made from good quality ingredients.

Popped into this little licensed cafe perched on the cobbled street that runs through the town. A friendly greeting from staff and prompt service. Our sausage ciabatta and smoked salmon and eggs on toast were delightful. I'm sure we will be visiting again soon.

A large mixed age family group went for a long lunch to the Deli Cafe. It was our third visit and each time the food has been fabulous, the service attentive and we have all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Stayed there with my mother in law as she lives locally , she said it's always great there. Delicious coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly and efficient service , reasonable prices.Well sized portions, bruschetta to die for! I will bring my husband here as I'm sure he would love to try few itemsOrdered bruschetta, garlic mushrooms( I would add some cream to make them perfect ) beef baguette and two coffees , bill came to £20- good value for money Cosy decor and loads of great looking deserts on display to chose from, maybe next time

Called in for a drop of breakfast. The cafe was 30% full but took 10 mins and two reminders to place the order. Sandwich on stale bread non toasted with coffee arriving after another two reminders. Lastly having your orange juice slammed on the table with out a comment. Once again underwhelmed and shall not be bothering again, the twin deserves better than this.

Met up with friends at Fresh and had a lovely lunch. Everyone enjoyed their chosen meal. The menu is varied, something for all. A delicious ice cream finished off the meal.

I was late for breakfast but early for lunch. I wanted something healthy and not carbs based. So I chose fruit salad which was really good. It came with little pots of yoghurt and seeds. I thought it also had honey but it turned out as syrup. Odd to me but am sure in Lancashire it is normal.

They do a wonderful breakfast here. Not the cheapest in town, by any means, but the quality of the ingredients make it good value for money. For example, the bacon had scarcely a trace of fat on it, and the sausages were scrumptious.This is a very popular cafe, and you may have a job finding a seat, but if you have to wait it is worth it. The downstairs toilet is spotlessly clean and a credit to the establishment.

We visit this place as often supply we can. It's very popular as the food is fabulous. Lots of home made cakes, macaron, ice creams etc as well as panini etc. The Sunday lunch is awesome- we managed to get this one Sunday on the spur of the moment - yummy!

Our large multi aged family group visited on a Sunday afternoon and had a wonderful time. We booked in advance and nothing was too much trouble. The menu is extensive and everything we ordered was thoroughly enjoyed. Look out for the amazing ice cream sundaes and milkshakes. We visited after a busy morning on the nearby ski slope that gave us all big appetites and were not disappointed. We would highly recommend a visit.

I have visited Cafe Fresh on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The waitresses are always friendly and attentive and the food is to die for. I would recommend booking a table at mealtimes as it does get very busy, which says it all really. Well done Cafe Fresh!!!

Probably the best lunch I've had out. Had mixed sharing platter and it was faultless. Carrot cake delicious as was the ice cream. The only crumble was slow service although they were really busy. Still worth all 5 stars though - will be back.

First impressions were really good, it looks very welcoming. It's very small so you may have to wait for a table, but they do accept bookings. Very varied menu and the home-made cakes looked really nice, but we didn't try any. Our choices were a little disappointing, not really what we expected from the menu descriptions. Will probably give it another try in the future.

Contrary to the review from KeenFoodie1976 I thought the food presented on the Tapas night was full of taste and well worth the money! The prawns were particularly excellent with loads of flavour and the chicken was mouthwatering. There were 10 of us there for my birthday and all of us had nothing but praise for the food and the night! The staff worked tirelessly to look after us and we all had a cracking night out.

Our second visit in two weeks, family run and a varied menu.we had soup of the day and a sandwich, you can have a bottle of proscetto if you want. We will return for high tea, before we go home.

I ate at the "tapas" evening tonight at Fresh having enjoyed a lunch there recently. To say it was poor would be an understatement. There was simply no attempt to be authentic, or to add basic seasoning. The raw pastry on the onion tart starter was disgusting. Tortilla simply should not include peas and peppers, but should include seasoning, however it did not. The chicken was beyond bland. I thought it was reasonably easy to impart flavour into prawns pil pil but apparently not, ditto with meatballs. At £22 per head this was not cheap and I feel rather cheated and ripped off. Will not be returning to an evening event at Fresh, what a let down.

My wife and I visited as we were passing as we fancied a drink. There is a car park right opposite. The cafe was crowded and we were lucky to get the last two seats, although things did thin out later. Having looked at the menu we both ended up having a snack, but we noticed there were lots of interesting choices. For example, the menu said that the soup is always vegetarian and gluten free.The decor is modern, and everything is very clean, with a toilet on the ground floor.Having been suitably impressed with our visit, we plan to go again and have a full meal.

Having been here numerous times and at first feeling delighted with the food and service and recommended to many friend ls - today will be my last visit. I popped in for a late lunch at the cafe had 3 other occupied tables, i sat at a table for four as it was the least cramped of the spaces available. As i sat down someone dropped something behind the counter and the mature lady sternly said in a raised voice audible to the whole cafe that the young girl had turned and backed into her ..think she was called Megan. The poor girl looked mortified and the lady continued to suggest it was her fault. It was very mean and poor behaviour to not control herself in front of the customers.I sat fo4 over 20 mins waiting to order , observing 2 tables arriving after me veing served first. The mature lady seemed to be purposefully ignoring me, the lady at the table next to me suggested that this was because i had sat at a table for 4 ?! Really is that an issue when the cade is quiet? I asked one of the younger girls if i could order, she took care of me and aside from telling me had to eat my cake with a teaspoon as there were no forks clean, she was fine.I don't however appreciate witnessing a rather stressed lady behaving in a manner i would deem deeply unprofessional and rude.Nice cake and food is not worth ot when the service is so objectionable. What a shame to write this review when i have had such positive experiences previously.

We visited Fresh as a spare of the moment choice on Saturday afternoon. To be honest we were very lucky to get a table as this table is very very popular, and with good reason. I would recommend making a reservation if you're thinking of visiting on Saturday. The food was excellent, with good sized portions. And I fished off with one of their fabulous juices. The downsides were that service was a little slow due to how busy it was in there, but we were in no hurry, so it didn't overly bother us. And also it did get a bit warm. The hostess opened the front door and that eased things, but I could see that if you were Seated at the rear of the cafe then it could become a little uncomfortable.

Visited a couple of times and the absolute highlight has to be the milkshakes - they are delicious. Lots of flavours to choose from and good value.

Lots of choice, never disappointed. A lovely atmosphere and, whilst always busy, never feel rushed. I would advise you to book in advance as it is quite compact.

Fabulous food and excellent service. A very small cafe so I would recommend reserving a table as it does get very busy.The Garlic Mushrooms are to die for.

Lovely food ... Always busy . Licenced too so nice glass of wine . They do some evenings and special nights but not sure when . Best to ring ahead for a table x

Had a light lunch here today. It was really busy on a random Thursday afternoon - so that tells you something. Ordered the halloumi wrap, which came with a little salad, coleslaw, herby mayo and crisps. It was lovely. Staff were attentive and pleasant throughout. A great little spot.
