Our 2nd visit to this lovely cafe. The cheddar waffle topped with hot salt beef, poached eggs and hollandaise was delicious. We both opted for a white americano, such a good quality coffee. Staff friendly and attentive, we will most definitely be back soon.

Always a nice welcome. Cakes are FANTASTIC. Good value for money. Lovely food and a relaxed setting. This is our Friday ‘go to’. Had afternoon tea in January too, really lovely and excellent value. Can’t think of one negative thing to say.

A mate of mine and I met up here for our semi regular breakfast / chance to put the world to rights, having never ventured here before. It was his suggestion and a very good one ! The service was friendly and prompt without being rushed. The food, excellent. I had the waffles with maple syrup and bacon and it was delicious - a superb blend of flavours and a good sized too..accompanied by a lovely latte. ( Which is extra). My mate went for the English breakfast which looked good (no grease) and his verdict was a big thumbs up. The ambience of the venue is nice too and I think this could be our go to place for future catch ups... Highly recommended.

My wife and I I absolutely love this gem of a cafe. The food is fabulous. I have no idea how the chef/chefs make everything taste so fantastic. Their bubble and squeak is to die for. Everything is cooked fresh and presented beautifully. All top quality ingredients I must also compliment the ladies that serve who always remember us and are very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend everybody to visit. Well done

A little gem of a cafe - delicious home-made cakes (the gluten-free carrot cake is to die for!), a choice of freshly baked sausage rolls that melt in the mouth (they sell quickly so get in there early) and an excellent cooked breakfast with quality sausages. Staff are always friendly and it’s very dog-friendly. Love it!

My wife had pulled pork on toast, My Granddaughter had poached egg on cheese on toast and I had haddock on cheese on toast with a poached egg and spinach. All three of us had special flavour coffees. Absolutely fantastic food. We have always had great meals there. Will be back.

Since opening, I now use this lovely venue for all my business meetings and my guests are always impressed! So last Friday,my wife and I came here for a breakfast treat and I decided to try the Belgian waffle with bacon and maple syrup! Wow, not very healthy but absolutely lovely if you have a sweet tooth like me! This place never disappoints and I would thoroughly recommend it!

We moved to Rayleigh a year ago, and have been to Fresco several times. Staff always welcoming and frendly, and never any problem with the food. Some nice, unusual things on the menu. Well worth a visit.

My wife managed to get away from her office for a hour to celebrate her birthday (no easy task!) so we decided to try Fresco which opened earlier this year on the walk to the one of the local primary schools. This property has had a couple of incarnations since we started to doing the school runs many years ago but has most recently been lovingly converted into a coffee shop / café. The transformation is amazing both inside and out. My wife ordered the poached smoked haddock on toasted Welsh rarebit topped with a poached egg and I had the hot salt beef with pickles and mustard. Both were delicious and highly recommended! My wife, who is American, had the pumpkin spice latte which reminded her of home and Thanksgiving. If you're looking for somewhere local and family run (with really friendly staff!) to enjoy breakfast or lunch definitely give Fresco a try. Tables can be booked which is useful too.

I was looking to join the Rayleigh club as a member after relocating from Wales and had hoped to play on the South course. I explained that I was previously a member at the Vale Resort and had a certified handicap (WHS). When booking a tee off time, I was advised this was okay when I contacted over the phone. The South Course was closed today and I asked whether I could book the East course instead. When I went in to do so, the gentleman in the pro shop advised that I wouldn't have been able to play the South Course as 'they don't recognise the WHS handicap system.' He further said that 'there's no way he can know whether it is valid or whether I am pretending to be someone else.' Instead of insinuating that I am fraudulently trying to play on the South course, he could have contacted the Vale Resort directly who could have verified my previous membership and handicap, irrespective whether they recognise the WHS system. I had hoped to play the South Course and potentially become a member. My late Grandfather had his wake at the Rayleigh club in 2015 and it was a special day of commemoration and I was very grateful to the staff that day for being so attentive and welcoming. This is in stark contrast to my experience in the pro shop today. In my experience, questioning the validity of someone's registered handicap is not the best way to encourage new members so I'll look to join elsewhere.

The oldest (apparently) coffee shop in Rayleigh lived up to the claim, and we do recommend a visit in all earnest. A cosy room with comfortable seating and friendly people serving enjoyable food. The menu is quite extensive and can be a trifle confounding to come up with your preference, but yes, there's every option. The coffee (much acclaimed) didn't disappoint. Having seen the menu, we will be back to try out the afternoon tea.

We visited on a Tuesday evening, warmly greeted at the door and taken to our table promptly. Our waitress Sarah was very professional and attentive, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and cosy.

This morning we went to Breakfast with Santa at The Cherry Tree in Stambridge. It was amazing! Breakfast was gorgeous and the entertainment was so good! All our family enjoyed it! The staff worked incredibly hard, they were so welcoming and it made the whole experience so fun! My boy wants to go again next year, and after this year, I am massively in agreement! Thank you The Cherry Tree! We will be back.
