Called in whilst visiting the park. The cafe is really nice looking like a pagoda. Had a very good latte and a very tasty brownie. Great views of the park from the terrace

We visited Frederick's cafe in Wigan Park today. This is a lovely cafe but the tea is a cheap tea and is overpriced at £2 for a small mug.

I arranged for a large family group to have lunch at Frederick's Pavilion cafe. The food was really good, the staff were very helpful both when making the arrangements and also on the day. Everyone so very pleasant. And we all loved the ice cream!

We love this place. We first visited last Summer for an ice cream and have been several times since. The Staff are so lovely and make it such a pleasant experience (rare these days). The kids love the novelty ice creams and so do we. We visited again today for Ice-creams and Hot chocolates. We had the Terrys Chocolate Orange ones, lovely. Highly recommend this place.

Frederick's is one of my favorite ice creams of all time. Even when the line is long in the summer, it moves along quite well and then I get my triple scoop in a cup...awesomeness!!!

What a lovely place! All the staff are really friendly and clearly working hard in these difficult times. A delicious choice of hot foods and drinks, ice creams and cakes. We all enjoy the calm, dog-friendly environment with stunning views of the park, especially upstairs. Perfect place to pop for a coffee and sweet treat, or even some breakfast/lunch. Highly Recommend!

I normally pop in for a coffee in the morning or the afternoon. Today I made the mistake of going in at (early) lunchtime. I stood at the till and waited, and waited, and waited – in total for more than ten minutes, whilst four staff faffed about – one at the coffee machine and three in the kitchen area. The one at the coffee machine brushed passed me to take a drink to a customer without any acknowledgement whatsoever, whilst a staff member in the kitchen stated to me, “I won’t be a minute”. Four minutes later I left. Unless you intend to eat something, don’t go at mealtimes. If you do, prepare to wait an inordinate time and develop your appetite.

Soon as you walk into this cafe, you can instantly see that its quiet and no staff in sight, and dirty tables! Was waiting at the counter, for a while, to be recognised by two young girls in the back eating and standing on there phones. After finally being served, I enjoyed my coffee, which was fresh and nice. Probably wouldn’t visit again by choice, clearly the management isn’t very good.

I was taken aback by the beauty of the pavilion itself but also the surrounding park. It is a truly idyllic venue for a quick pit stop or an afternoon chill out. I opted for the lemon meringue ice cream and I certainly was not disappointed, zingy and zesty. The staff were all very nice and accommodating, accompanying each action with a smile. A lovely experience and I will surely be returning soon!

On a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon we popped into Frederick’s for an ice cream. They were a bit pricier than many ice creams but well worth it. Lots of flavours to choose from and a variety of cones to put them in. The cone was totally filled with the very tasty ice cream. There is a choice of seating inside and out. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Ask them for the door code if you need to use the toilets.

Went for a walk in the park and took my son with me asked the staff for a napkin so I could wipe his hands then get some ice cream... I was very rudely pointed to where the napkins where and said I have to purchase something if I want to use them as they are for customers only wanted to wipe my sons hands cos he’d been playing then was going to get something.... won’t be returning again. Rude staff ....

Apparently the culinary delight of pie and Beans takes 25 mins to prepare. The beans were the temperature of a Siberian permafrost and the pie was the the temperature of the Sun, which made for an interesting combination. I complained and asked for my money back (which I hate having to do BTW) and was begrudgingly given me my money back. I probably would have not left a negative review if it was not for the parting shot about me wasting food as the server spooned the offending items into the bin. I would have left less than one star if this was possible

Could hear 2 of the girls talking about how it’s wrong to eat meat an when I said I could hear them and asked to speak to the manager one of the young girls said she was the manager and told me I was wrong for eating meat. Nice to have some prejudice against people just for eating chicken

We visited on a Sunday morning, it wasn't busy only 3 or 4 other tables in use. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 slices of toast. This took 15 mins to arrive. The toast comes with the butter separate to spread yourself but there was no knife. I asked one of the staff as they were returning to the kitchen who said she would get one, 5 minutes later still no knife so I had to go up to the counter to ask again. The toast was completely cold by the time I got a knife. A couple who had ordered before us still hadn't got their drinks when ours arrived. The man went to the counter to remind one of the staff. There were 3 staff serving (possibly more in the kitchen), their drinks were eventually brought over but were wrong. This cafe is in a great location, it is such a shame that the customer service is so poor.

Went for an ice cream on Saturday 25th March 2017. The weather was great so I could understand there would be a little waiting time. There were at least 4 members of staff. 1 young girl was serving ice cream and after each serving she had to walk to the till to take payment. No idea what the others were doing (at some point 2 of them were chatting in full view). From start in the queue till being served took 45 minutes!! Needs some serious managing.

If you're looking for ice cream, and a Pokemon gym, this will meet both your needs! Great place to get a tasty ice cream on a hot day, whilst playing your game! Wouldn't get any other food as it's very expensive, drinks included, but ice cream is worth paying for! I personally love the pistachio and tiramisu flavours together, but they are rarely in when I am, but plenty of other exiting new flavours all the same!

The ice-cream that my partner and I had queued for 20 minutes for, was nice, there could've been more of it, but it was nice. However the rudeness of the staff, and the state of the pavilion was appalling. by that i mean that instead of them all being cramped behind the desk, they should've been clearing the tables as ice-cream and stickiness attracts wasps and flies in summer. I also used the toilets whilst we were there and they were disgusting, there was toilet paper strewn all over the floor and the stench of urine was horrific. Along with the tables, they definitely needed seeing to!

Cafe in a municipal park near to the town centre. A good choice of flavours available from a reputable local company. There are at least 15 flavours to choose from and these are changed on a regular basis. I had lemon meringue flavour and my wife had mint choc chip. A choice of cones too and a very creamy italian style ice cream. Sat outside to take in the view of the park.

Quality ice cream with a lot of choice of flavours - having the option to sit outside is also a bonus on a sunny day. The setting of Mesnes park also adds to the relaxing experience. The prices were also a lot more reasonable than I was expecting, another positive. I would recommend it, unless you're bothered by having kids around - there were quite a few in when myself and my wife attended, although it was a weekend.

As usual Fredericks ice cream is always good, even though the choice is smaller than in the Chorley shop there is always a great choice of flavours and something different every time. But on a recent visit I was very disappointed. It seems young staff who were clearly doing their best on a busy Sunday morning could do with more help. Tables were not being cleared and we had to do this ourselves to sit down at a table and the toilets were very unclean, no toilet paper and one was blocked. It's only April so if it's like this now what will summer be like. The young girls behind the counter were run off their feet and never stopped whilst we were there.

I'm a big fan of Frederic's ice cream but the experience at the Pavillion was disappointing. The building is lovely from the outside but inside is a different story. Very modern interior which is fine but tables, floor and chairs were dirty. We stayed there for approx. half an hour and I haven't seen anyone clearing or wiping the tables which were sticky and full of empty ice cream cups/napkins/wooden sticks. It's a shame for this charming building...

I went here a couple of times in the summer and I really like the new café and park layout.
