Fratelli's Docklands in Newham

I love this place. The owners are amazing and so friendly and kind and I’ve been coming here for years. The weekend staff really let the place down, or maybe it was one in particular. White female, slightly tubby with a ponytail.wouldn’t give her name but shocking behaviour. When I asked her why there was so much milk and could she put less (it was supposedly a flat white but literally contained a whole cup full of milk!!) she blanked me. And then when I went to queue up to ask for less milk, I was made to feel like crap. She shouted at her colleague in front of other waiting customers “Ignore her, I already made her coffee, don’t bother with her, there’s a huge queue behind!” The place felt like an Eastenders set, so embarrassing I walked out without my cup of milk (!!) and won’t be rushing back!! 🫣😳

I was there to wait for 4 friends to have coffee and have a meeting and the attendant was super rude, and very rude, he took my cell phone out of the socket and forbade me from using it, a cafe that I always go to eat and have coffee. Ridiculous, this bad service...

I visit this café daily, and it’s always a great experience! The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the service is excellent. The owners are incredibly friendly and make everyone feel welcome. A perfect spot for quality food and warm hospitality!

If i could give 0 stars i would, horrible service and rude staff!! Definitely not coming back there again

Great little coffee shop right opposite the cable car in E16…..great coffee and great staff…..whether it’s a quick espresso or lasagne for lunch, guaranteed to hit the spot

An incredibly rude experience when asked to leave during a work call because apparently you only have 30mins to finish a coffee. Won’t be back.

I come here almost everyday for breakfast, and have nothing but good things to say. The team are very personable and always remember the orders of their regulars. The quality of coffee is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing. There are good vegetarian options, as well as a vast selection of pastries, paninis, and hot food options such as pasta to cater to all tastes. The owners are very friendly and the whole team are friendly!

Extremely rude stuff!!! I bought a coffee and worked on my laptop at the table and … was asked to leave after an hour so that new customers can sit there. Not to mention there were plenty of free tables available!!! Literally never coming back. Such a shame cause that’s my local coffee shop.

Great ciabatta sandwiches including vegetarian options such as goats cheese and pepper and haloumi and avocado, and it’s lovely to sit outside across from the river. Reasonable prices especially compared to inside the excel centre

I am a frequent customer. I like the place, however I am increasingly disappointed with the employees at weekends. Today at 2.40pm we wanted to have a nibble and coffees inside while reading a book. The manager told us that we could only order takeaway because they were already cleaning before closing at 4pm (!!!) - when the real closing time is 4.30pm. She actually have the audacity to tell us we can eat at the tables outside where it was cold and rainy. The whole situation was stupid, and everyone lost: we couldn’t have a nice one hour reading and enjoying our coffee; and Fratelli lost 15-20 pounds… I hope the owners take note of this, as they will end up losing customers for good if this continues.

We were looking for a light lunch after our cable car experience, which ended close by. This cafe fitted the bill admirably. It does not look much from outside but the display of sumptuous bagels along with filled ciabetta was just what we needed. The service was first class, helpful and friendly. All at very reasonable prices. Well done. 😇

Lovely little Italian cafe. Good range of food, good coffee. Reasonable price and friendly service. There’s not a lot of options in this area but luckily there’s this cafe. Definitely recommend

I saw this café whilst on a job and from the outside it looked nice. Went there for lunch around 2 pm there were 3 customers in the joint, I ordered a baguette and a latte, paid for it and went back to my table and got busy reviewing some work on my laptop. Was surprised when I noticed the staff had simply placed my food on the counter for me to collect it. They were not busy and neither were they doing anything, seemed an issue for them to just walk over and hand me over the food. Another customer had the same thing happen to him and we just looked at each other puzzled with the attitude. Looks of the place don't match the customer service

Pleasant cafe/sandwich bar close to ExCel.

Freshly squeezed orange juice, amazing sandwiches and great ambience. This one is conveniently located a few steps away from home and is my go to place for breakfast, if you are in the area or staying in the hotels nearby around docklands, pay this cafe a visit. It’s a pretty nice place.

Great coffee and friendly service. Food is also tasty and much more reasonably priced than the Excel! The short walk from the Excel is definitely worth it for a much nicer atmosphere!

I went here because I was missed my uni lesson due to waking up late, and the chaii latte and veggie samosa were very good, and the cafe itself is nice and peaceful. The workers there are friendly too, would recommend.

Eat here regularly and always good and reasonably priced food. They only do pre prepared food like sandwiches though so you can’t get a cooked breakfast which is a shame

I love this little hole in the wall that we found while I was visiting London Comic Con with friends. It's very close and a huge recommendation if you're in the area.

I live nearby and I am so happy to have this cafe close by! Always grabbing the sandwich with chicken and goat cheese - it is delicious! Staff is very friendly and they remember always what I order, which is very kind. I fully recommend this place!

Nice baguettes at a reasonable price for London. We visited this establishment whilst at the Formula E in the ExCel Centre. We found the staff pleasant and the food tasty. I would certainly revisit.

It was a quiet weekday, slightly overcast with intermittent sunshine. Nipped in for a quick bite. Decent selection of paninis and variations of sandwiches, drinks, snacks etc. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was good, and the prices were acceptable. Pleased with my overall visit.

Much better than any of the places in Excel. Cheaper and no queue. Buy your coffee on the way in and it'll be drinkable by the time you arrive.

Poor service. Walked up to the counter even though I was alone the person behind the till shouted at me "NEXT" N good morning or what can I get you. Just " NEXT." There was a sign that the toilet is out of order, perfect. The food is generally good quality. The atmosphere is very basic. People smoke right outside and smoke in your face. For this location, it is very bad cafe. I rather go to Starbucks next.

cute little spot with lovely coffee + great for a study sesh. however, they usually close off their perfectly working toilet and have it available for only their staff and not the customers. by law, any establishment that serves food and beverages are to have a customer toilet. it's really unfortunate when i can't spend more than maybe a few hours here and order more coffee while doing my work because i need to use the toilet but it isnt available

Poor breakfast experience. Although I was eating in, they would only supply my cappuccino in a paper cup, despite the fact that there was a pile of crockery mugs on top of the coffee machine. I had to ask for a plate for my croissant and was given a saucer. No napkins were available and there was a sign on the counter stating "Toilet is out of order!" I suspect this was merely to discourage non-customer use, but I did not stay long enough to find out. No Wi-Fi was available. Needless to say I shall not be returning to this establishment.

This is an absolutely brilliant Italian cafe. The food is very nice, the coffee is excellent and the service is very good.

I ordered food and drink. However, their staff says that there is no toilet for the customers!!!! Unbelievable!!! They sell drinks and food without toilets for the customers!!!! Who can go and have food inside here without toilets? Nevertheless, female customers use staff toilets, but why not male customers? Are these staff racists? They whispered each other in front of customers and ignored my request. Sick!!🤮 Never visit again!!!

Lovely staff, food is fantastic, coffee is perfect.

I've been going here for almost 10 years. But it seems that it's getting more diluted in recent months. New management possibly/ less coffee per shot ? .... Popped back a few months later. Ordered a toasted mozzarella sandwich that literally had no cheese inside. They put a little bit on the outside to make it look like it was full but it was empty. To be fair the waitress was nice and swapped it for a proper one. Pretty sad though

Friendly, fast, efficient t and very tasty! And decent prices too. We stayed in docklands area and went here every day for breakfast for toasted bagels and baguettes, juice and coffee. Will definitely use again.

Nice place and I’m a regular and go twice a week. The staff are nice and friendly. Please don’t put your prices up any more and just slow down when serving your customers. It’s supposed to be a relaxing place to stop for coffee, not a factory line. It can also get messy at lunch hours restricting places to sit. Please clean more often and slow down the pace so ordered aren’t rushed and wrong. I love fratelli but as it’s getting busier it’s getting more expensive and you run the risk of losing your locals.

The small deli/restaurant is quaint and has a lot on display. What I can say about the coffee is that it's Not authentic Italian style of coffee which I was hoping it would be. Unfortunately, the pistachio canoli was equally disappointing. The only two things I liked were the almond croissants and chocolat du pain. In all, an underwhelming experience with food. The service was good considering the long queue but I guess for true Italian coffee, go elsewhere.
