Fratelli Italian Restaurant in Central Bedfordshire

Visited 31/10/24 for the first time. All aspects of the visit were exceptional. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be returning. In addition, excellent value for money.

It was half term and lunchtime. The atmosphere was pleasant without being too busy and noisy. Service was very good and we have always enjoyed Fratelli’s food.

Stopped in here after visiting family, food was quality. Everyone loved there meals and cleared their plates

A great Italian in the heart of Ampthill. A good menu and also Sunday lunch. Booking advised. Car park a few yards away.

We had our first visit here at the weekend, 3 women. At first we were a little overwhelmed with the noise, it was fully booked at peak time and quite noisy. Unfortunately we were sat next to a very inebriated couple whom were pesky. The staff recognised this straight away and we were swiftly and discreetly moved! Well done! Now with the food! We all found the food really lovely. Beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. The pasta was fresh, wholesome and of good size. And the panacotta passed the wobble test!! Staff were really attentive and friendly. All in all we will be back.

Rather Expensive but after sampling the Calabrese Pizza, I was too full to add a desert. Parking is pay & display down a side, easily missed location that is dodgy when trying to exit on to the main, narrow road.

Never a bad meal at Fratellis - it’s the best there is! We love it 🥰 xx

Called in on the off chance on a Sunday lunch, table no problem. Service great, restaurant is really pleasant.. lovely pasta, freshly made and piping hot! Will come back .

Went for a lunchtime meal with family, one of whom is vegetarian. The food choice for everyone was substantial and a separate menu for vegan/ vegetarian was a great idea. Service was very prompt, waiters very thorough and attentive. Lovely restaurant and atmosphere. Definitely recommend and return maybe to Chiccetti in evening as I've heard great things about the service and food in the evening also.

Met a friend for lunch. The food was lovely, a nice salad from the lunch menu with very tasty prawns. The service was just the right amount of attention and although it was a Tuesday lunch, it didn't feel like we were eating alone or that it was too rushed. A lovely cool lunch (it was very hot outside) will definitely go again.

A really nice Italian restaurant. We had the seafood pasta and chicken and mushroom cream pasta. Both were great.

Food was beautiful as always, huge portions so came back with the following days lunch 👌🏽 staff were very friendly and attentive and overall just a lovely setting. Love this place, would recommend to everyone.

Been here a few times and was looking to book a 10 cover for our group and was told £10 non refundable deposit and have to pre order a month in advance !!! You have just lost about a grand !!!! Doh!!!

Great quality food and relaxed ambience. Will definitely come back again!! The only downside was having to pay for parking at the back of the restaurant 👎🏼

Fratelli Italian Restaurant in Ampthill, Bedfordshire is one of the Best places I have dined. Here are my reasons. The food is yummy. The staff are Very attentive. Their service was one of the Best I have seen in the hospitality service. I normally don't reveal that I am a Google reviwer and just sit quietly observing. When I stood up to have pictures taken by their beautiful bar, one of their youngest waiters called Ben was happy to have a picture taken with me with a beaming smile. Their service was unique, no food went back to the kitchen. No request was a huge mountain chore from their faces, which I have seen from other waiters and waitresses in other places I have visited, especially when it's from the only Black person in the room. So in the end I had to tell them of what I do. When you visit Ampthill in Bedfordshire and are looking for a place to eat, Fratelli Italian Restaurant is your place. Thank you so much.

The meat balls were tough, it's was a lunch time so the atmosphere was muted, but the chef walked around the restaurant to get his coat or similar and the serving staff all huddled together chit- chatting. TBH I was told that it was a good place for a lunch meeting, sadly I was not impressed.

I play percussion on occasion at Fratelli's with a DJ, and the atmosphere is always brilliant. It's always very busy and everyone has a great time. I have had the pleasure of eating the food and that was delicious. BOOK in advance or you will be disappointed if you rock up.

Recently dined at Fratellis in Ampthill and had a pleasant experience. Ordered the carbonara and the spaghetti and meatballs. The carbonara was creamy and had that comforting taste you expect from a good Italian restaurant. The spaghetti and meatballs were hearty and satisfying. The atmosphere was cozy, and it felt like a genuine Italian family restaurant. Service was decent, staff were really nice and always ready to help Fratellis is a decent spot for Italian cuisine in Ampthill. If you're craving classic Italian pasta or pizza dishes, it's worth a visit.

Had dinner there on Saturday night. Birthday meal. Nice place but nothing outstanding. Bit of a weird set up 2 restaurants, same building, different floors, different menu. Bit odd. Nice meal but nothing outstanding and felt the price was high and mandatory 10% fair.

After eight years of visiting Ampthill, we finally tried Fratelli's. Why did we wait so long! Absolutely delicious food, with outstanding service. Would recommend in a heartbeat! 10/10.

Nice atmosphere and service. Pizzas are ok, but not great. Not an authentic Italian pizza, rather adapted to British tastes.

It started off well with starters & service. Out of our group of 10, we had 5 meals with issues. 2 were too salty, 1 was cold & 2 were dry. But that wasn't the worst of it. We were there celebrating my granddaughters 18th birthday. I brought in a home made cake i made for her, only to be told we couldn't eat the 18th birthday cake due to health and safety! Yet we were given a big knife to cut it to take away. I was disgusted by this ridiculous rule of theirs. Lighting a candle and providing a big knife was not a health and safety issue, but eating it was! Needless to say i won't be returning.

We tried this restaurant for the first time to day and all the food we had was amazing, one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in a while! Only thing I’d like to mention is the red cord in the disabled toilet isn’t hung correctly and needs to be lowered so it is touching the floor just in case a disabled person has an accident whilst in there.

Very nice meal, waitress was excellent, plus I was with family.

Food and service was good but in my opinion it was a bit expensive especially when a 'service' charge is added.

The venue was good and the service wasn't an issue at all. Our waitress was really friendly. However the calazone pizza was really under par. The mozorella cubes inside hadn't melted, the mushrooms were pretty much raw. The ham was ok. The other main was pasta and fairly bland. The starter were decent. I have to admit I wouldn't rush back and paying £65 for something I could get from waitrose for £15 was really disappointing.

Always a good place to go for great food and atmosphere

Visited this branch for my sisters birthday. Was probably one of the better branches we've been to good and staff wise. Ben, our waiter was amazing. Really nice sense of humour and very attentive the whole time. Another lady, possibly a manager was also very very friendly, great service honestly! Food was great too of course ;-)

It's a very nice Italian restaurant. In this review, I'm including upstairs, which has a different menu, but it's really the same business. Their food is great but very pricey, especially upstairs. The staff are nice but need to be more observant. The deals are badly implemented, so be careful and ask before sitting down how they work. Overall, I love the food so much that I'll be going back.

First time at Fratelli and we really enjoyed the food. The menu was varied. Very flavoursome. The waiter was very good as well and only came over when we were ready which was great. The drinks are a bit expensive but offset by the quality of the food! There are some discounts such as 20% off on certain nights. Make sure you mention it though as we forgot and hence paid the full price! Would go again though for a special occasion. The toilets are very clean, which is always a good sign. Lastly, there's a nice open kitchen which adds to the atmosphere.

We tried Fratelli’s on New Year’s Eve, so not your average day. The service was exceptional, polite, friendly and very quick. The food is also great, I had the lasagne which my partner who is much more of a foodie than I informed me is one of the best lasagne’s she’s ever tasted, so much so she regretted her choice of pizza. The prices are extremely fair for what you get. I do believe we’ll end up going again sometime soon. P.S there’s a pay and display car park 10 metres away from the front door.

Don’t go for a roast dinner. The service was great. Attentive and accommodating. My expectations were too high with a roast dinner on a Sunday. Good half chicken but the gravy tasted like Baked Beans juice and the potatoes were days old???! Don’t expect the roast to taste home cooked. Would come back but order differently for sure. Again, waitresses were great.

Visited this restaurant (Chiccetti's) as part of a works Xmas party. Can't say enough good things about this place. The staff and the owner were wonderful considering some of our group were celebrating a little more than others! Food was marvellous. Worth every penny. Thanks to you all. I will be back but on my own this time.

Exceptional customer service and high quality food where clearly the chef wants to impress. Visited recently with my husband and the place was packed on a Wednesday night. The staff were very polite and professional and the atmosphere was fantastic. Truly a little gem in the heart of Ampthill.

Food was excellent, very loud and hard to hear other on our table. Table wasn't ready for our alloted time and took ages to come back for the bill. Would come back but choose a quieter day to visit
