Great fish, chips and peas, perfectly cooked. Will definitely use again next time I am in Wisbech. Hard working staff too

Was looking for a decent fish and chip shop in the town on a visit but sadly did not find the standard I’m used to. Chips were good but lack of happy faces behind the counter and a soggy battered lump of cod and I did wonder if it was still fairly raw means this establishment didn’t make the grade in my view.

Traditional fish and chip shop, you know the kind where they have stuff already in the warmer and they put your salt and vinegar on. Customer service isn't amazing, the lady looked at me like she was going to beat me up (exageration!) but who cares, it's a traditional fish and chip shop. Just how it should be, please keep it up and keep these places going.

I'm sure that Frank's do serve great food, but the management is just very poor. I have a friend who used to work here and he said that he was treated horribly by they owners. They did things like throw his wages on the floor and tell him to pick it up and several other things. DON'T WORK AT FRANK'S!

Great British fish and chips cooked just how the should be. Nice friendly staff. we will always return.

Absolutely out of order! ! First time I’ve ever found it necessary to place such a negative review on Google. The batter on three battered sausage was inedible. Lumpy, rock hard and dark brown. Next day I went into the shop to complain and the same server was on duty. I told her of my reasons to complain - and she just laughed and laughed ! I challenged her as to why she was in fits of laughter, only to be told they’ve had no other complaints ! READ your reviews lady and realise that when you are serving food, look at it and DON’T sell it. And get some staff training on customer service. Two days later I went to The Jolly Fryer nearby - excellent all round .

Just back from a weekend in and around Wisbech and fancied fish and chips for lunch on Friday. We walked into Frank's quite late, about 2.30 and were welcomed with a cheery smile and shown to the restaurant. Spotlessly clean, the best fish and chips we've had for a long time and very very reasonably priced. Fresh and piping hot, not at all greasy served with a hot coffee. Perfect! The waitress was delightful as was the boss. They took time to make us welcome and we learned a lot about potatoes! Would definitely go back next time we go to Wisbech.

Always hot and freshly cooked. We like to eat in the restaurant as its excellent value and we get no washing up.

Had the most delicious gorgeous bit of fish I'd ever had. I had plaice my BF had cod. The size of the fish was huge. Chips were a bit scraggy but for 2 huge meals under a £10 including drinks we were very happy.

Came with family who were visiting from America.seating was plenty with room for a family member to mover around in his wheelchair. We were served promptly and with a smile. Food arrived such generous amounts on each plate very hot and extremely tasty. Will definitely have to visit the restaurant on a regular basis.

We used the take away service; quick and efficient. Exceedingly good quality Cod & Chips and exceptionally good value for money. The batter was crisp without run off oil and melt in the mouth fish. The chips were crisp on the outside and soft inside. Well worth a visit.

Would always choose this place for take-out fish and chips. Short wait and delicious piping hot food. They also serve rock salmon which most other local chippys don't!

Steaming hot fresh from the fryer cod and lots chips, mushy peas, buttered roll and tea. Usually queuing out the door on Friday.

El mejor pescado y patatas fritas en años. Luz masa fresco cocinado a la perfección sin pasada bajo la capa. Guisantes blandos no enlatado o congelado y sabían como Casa Madre, hecho de hace años. Las instalaciones son básicas pero impecables, así que no dejes que la primera vista te desanime. Teníamos eglefino, patatas fritas y guisantes con una taza de té para 2. Preciosa vajilla limpia blanca y el juego de té tenía 3 bolsitas de té! Muy inusual y sabía como té verdadero no es barato bolsas de catering. El pescado era caliente y estaba muy bien caliente. Nos ofrecieron una variedad de salsas, que son un producto de alta de marca no es un mercado barato de plástico insípido difícil abrir paquete. La chica que servía era luminosa y amable y te hacen sentir bienvenido. Me trajeron en un hotel regentado por una familia y venda pescado y este fue el mejor que he probado desde mi tienda de la familia. Así que no vayas en su primera vista de la estancia y disfrutar de una decoración básica de pescado y patatas fritas verdadero a precios muy razonables.

Cod and chips "open" yesterday afternoon sitting in the sun looking at the river... perfect. Thought both the fish and chips were really beautifully cooked, and will definitely make it part of any future Wisbech visits.

Buen pescado y patatas fritas, para llevar y sentarse. Siempre sabrosa. El personal a veces distantes, pero práctico aparcamiento exterior.

The best local fish and chips, large cod is huge and tastes sooo fresh, friendly staff are happy to cook this to order.

As the title states, this is a solid chippy. The chips were cooked well, but with a slightly greasy feel which affected the mark slightly for me.The sausages were battered perfectly and the curry sauce was typical of what you would find at a chippy.My only major criticism was the lady who served me gave the impression she didn't want to be there. It actually made me feel uncomfortable. This was the first time I'd come into Franks, although I have ordered from there before and I found it unusual that the front of house server wasn't too friendly or approachable. Obviously this didn't affect the quality of the food, but detracted from the experience overall.

We have had takeaways from Frank's which have always been very nice and decided to pop into the adjoining cafe to try this out. We had 2 sausages and chips and cod fishcake and chips and a pot of tea all very fresh and tasty and piping hot and very reasonable indeed. Charming waitress and extremely clean surroundings. Will call again they have lots on their menu.

Went Saturday afternoon as we were down from London again, fish and chips were lovely and friendly staff well done

Will wait half an hour and stick to Yu's kitchen in future. Large portions for sure but a bit pricey for the quality. Took me 10 minutes to get food home which was still piping hot. The down side is that the batter was soggy, no crispy bits. The fish could not be lifted to the plate as it fell into pieces. The chips had long since been cooked and both of us were left feeling sick through the amount of lard/dripping in the food. It took a while to get rid of the taste of lard, disgusting, will not bother again.

Best fish and chips in town regularly take ourselves and grandchildren here always spotlessly clean and great food good portions keep up the good work

Franks is awesome I personally think the fish is better than what you get at the sea side this is where we go now and have no plans to change this

הגענו בעקבות המלצה של חברה מקומית והטעם היה שווה את זה ! מדובר במקום קטן יחסית אבל מאוד פופולרי בקרב המקומיים. יש קצת תור אבל שווה את ההמתנה לטעם של עוד ומחיר הוגן. הדג והשמן טריים וזה ממש מתפצםץ בפה!

I have been going to Franks since I was a child, I'm in my 50s now, and you know what you going to get in my opinion lovely fish and chips plus scraps, long may it continue

They serve good quality fish and chips. Prices reasonable too. Parking bay outside just off roundabout.

Franks is one of the best fish and chip restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food is tasty and reasonable price. The staff are helpful and really friendly.

Excellent food quick service lovely and clean there was 8 of us the workers were really friendly and smiling they also explained to usPlaces to go. We explained that when we were children 60 years ago we would all go to Wisbech and pick strawberry at Wisbech st Mary and also pick strawberrys at Friday bridge they chated with us for a while as weWe're waiting for our food. The toilets ladies and end were very clean

Frank's serves the best fish suppers both I and my wife have had for a long time; second only to Lambros Fish and Chips in Dhekelia, Cyprus.

A trip to Norfolk isn't the same without a visit here we called in to meet friends and had the special fish chips mushy peas bread butter a drink for less than £6 a head they were very tasty

Hi I got fish and chips today and when I go home it was covered with hairs half way through I was hungry and when I saw the hairs I was sick and thrown the rest away and when I usually get fish and chips they are normally in a tray not on bloody paper where u are picking them offAnd the curry sauce was very lumpy

Since Franks have changed owner ship we do not go there any more it is not has nice has it used to be

The food, as I remember it from years ago, was brilliant. Fantastic portion - too much for me but my fellow diners finished it off! Three meals for less than £12 including drinks was a surprise - expecting it to be a lot more. That's the good, here's the but...The restaurant feels empty, very bland. Needs some colour. And the service is pants - no smile, no "how's your meal" (bearing in mind we received table service rather than ordering at the counter which we were expecting).Will return again but if the service is still poor it might be the last visit.

Service is without a doubt without a smile, food is mostly cooked fresh although in recent times has been greasy, if you can get past the fact that the staff are surley its ok, portions sre good, although the quality has suffered recently..

franks fish and chips are a wisbech institution. only one shop now, used to have three. the food is above average but the customer service is terrible! always has been! walking in and you get an abrupt "what's yours?" with a stern face! nice! it's as if the staff have been told not to smile!

It's a fish and chip shop with a restaurant area adjoining. This is functional and far from cosy, but clean and bright. We both ordered haddock, which was cooked to order, so arrived piping hot and with perfectly crisp batter (not too much, not too little) surrounding a large portion of quite superb fish, perfectly cooked. Excellent chips accompanied, and I had mushy peas as well. Excellent value. Talked briefly with the owner - son of Frank as I understand - and he is passionate about the quality of the fish he serves. It shows.

Frequently use this restaurant's take away for fish and chips. Good quality. Convenient for Horse Fair and Marina quarters.

Good Food, Good Service, Good Price and really nice and clean. Limited parking but sufficient as long as people park sensibly.
