Popped in this month for a bite to eat and was happy with the customer service didn't have to wait long for our food Really enjoyed . Family had a great time and will be popping again to try there desserts Our server Tiffany was very polite service with a smile is what all places need

The food is great but the service time is poor takes 30 minutes for someone to take our order and total an hour for the food to even arrive to us.

Party of 5 for our friends son 15th birthday, got there for 4.30pm as planned, sat in the seat in the photo opposite (just as full as well), ordered drinks and meals and chatted while we waited. About 5.15, we noticed a couple who came in after us getting served before us, we said nothing and 5 mins later our meals started arriving. The others in the party had theirs so I sat there for about 5 mins after which a waitress passed so I asked about my Lasagne that I ordered. Off she went, stopping to take another table's order on the way as it was filling up there by now (must have been at least 5 tables occupied by now). Another 10 minutes went by without an apology or reason for the delay before I noticed the manager (I think as she wasn't in uniform) carrying my meal, by now, the rest had finished their meals and had shared their Pizza's with me. As she approached, she said 'here's your Lasagne' (still no apology) to which I replied 'no thanks', she turned on her heals and headed back without a word. The waitress who had taken or order had gone on her break and was horrified when she came back on duty and heard what happened. She approached us with an apology assuring us the orders had gone through. I now know why I don't go there often.

Do not go here! Recommend either the nantgarw or Cardiff branch. Firstly, after booking we had to wait 15 minutes for anyone to seat us whilst staff were stood around laughing and joking with each other or stood on their mobile phones. Secondly, food came and the pasta was horrible. It was watery and bland and half the pasta was cold! My partners burger was taken to the wrong table and placed there. A server then went back to that table took the burger from another family and placed it in front of my partner. Only half of our order arrived at the table and had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the rest to arrive. When there’s just two of you and only 2-3 sides ordered it seemed beyond. Once a manager - I’m assuming - was told about the complaint with the pasta we saw them laughing about it before coming to the table. The service and food is disgraceful. Honestly stay away.

The food was delicious, cauliflower bites were amazing the steak was cooked to perfection by chief Sam and chicken burger was delicious and the milk shake was delicious, amazing atmosphere staff can't do enough thank you for a lovely evening

The restaurant was busy when we arrived but that didn't spoil our experience, we was shown to our table and given a menu , straight away we ordered our drinks , a few minutes later we ordered our food my oh had the meatballs and his steak that was cooked prefect and to finish he had a milkshake, I had chicken and pasta amazing service and food yet again Thank you so much

Never again will I come here again. The staffs attitude was quite abrupt and rude. If I wanted attitude off the staff manager included I would have gone to Karen’s diner. They really need to touch up on customer service. Also the loos were very dirty too. The boy who served us just didn’t seem like he wanted to be there and it clearly showed with his attitude.

Let’s start with a positive Nice greeting and seated quickly. Downhill from there, we were expecting a full restaurant as it’s half term but it was quiet with lots of empty tables. From what we could tell there were 2 staff serving tables. We waited an hour for someone to take our food order. My 3 year old granddaughter always has the macaroni cheese, it’s her favourite so we ordered that. I ordered vegan wings, vegan pizza and my husband had the calzone and daughter had the pasta. The macaroni cheese came first, the little took one spoonful and wouldn’t say anymore, my daughter commented how different it looked to usual and I tasted it and it tasted exactly like Heinz tinned macaroni. Looked like it too. We called the lady over and asked if the recipe had changed and she said no. We explained it is a favourite of granddaughter and the pasta is usually smaller in size and sauce tastes nicer. She checked with chef who said it definitely wasn’t a new recipe and wasn’t from a tin. The lady got the menu for granddaughter to choose something else. We could see the adult meals sitting on counter (pass) and there they sat, they were joined by more meals and they still sat there. No one came back to ask what we wanted to order for granddaughter to replace the macaroni cheese and no one brought our food, 25 minutes passed as we kept trying to see where any staff were. A table were given their food from the counter and sent it back and then ours came, mine was cold (pizza) husband and daughters were warm. Still no meal for my granddaughter as no order had been taken, the lady realised she hadn’t taken a new order and asked what she wanted, we said she can share ours now as we will be finished by the time hers is cooked and cools down. She was apologetic, offered some fries. We declined. No one asked if we wanted drinks. We had to find cutlery on other tables. It is my granddaughters 3rd birthday today, and we spent over 2 hours in Frankie and bennies for what was a dire service, and awful meal. So disappointing. This month we ditched Cardiff in favour of somewhere a little more local. The restaurant was very clean and tidy and we had a choice of seating. We ordered the Hotdog, Double Bacon Burger, New York BBQ chicken and Brisket Fries. This is the first time in a while that we all really enjoyed our meals. My Burger was cooked to absolute perfection and one of the best I have eaten in some time. The Brisket Fries were amazing. We will be back here again as one of our family favourites.

The nicest Franky and Bennys in the area. Enjoyed the hunters chicken and my youngest had the meatballs (they were huge). You also get 30% off mains with a cinema ticket. Absolute bargain!

A faultless experience, the service & food was of an excellent standard, it was very busy but felt really relaxed in there due to the efficiency of the team, the place was also spotless, credit where it’s due, this is one very well run restaurant, definitely will return in the future.

We used to visit Frankie and Benny's so often for breakfast it was a standing joke in the family. NOT ANY LONGER. On the last visit we ordered Eggs Benedict. The whites of the eggs were raw. We sent them back but the replacement eggs were no better and now the ham was scanty and dried out. On the previous visit we chose full English. The sausages weren't tasty as they used to be and the bacon was cremated. You are no longer offered butter but given chemical full spread which is not very pleasant on toast. The lunchtime offer was little better when we visited in August. Portions are skimpy and not very well garnished. It used to be a favourite for family celebrations but we are looking for a new venue.

Before Covid we would pop to Frankie and Bennies on a regular basis for breakfast, there was nowhere better for quality and value for money. Bottomless coffees, fresh, well cooked food and real BUTTER! Now, the last twice we've been the breakfasts have been appalling. Bacon extremely over cooked, eggs undercooked, not once but twice during a visit after sending them back and then being told that thats the spec they are told to cook to, scabby pieces of ham, no coffee refills and the only option for toast is Flora margarine 🤢. Very, very disappointed. Will not be returning.

We called here while traveling to Cardiff, I ordered spicy meat balls which had no spice. I also ordered breakfast tea which was luke warm and didn't help the tea bag give it's flavour. The venue music was that load I could hardly hear what my partner was saying!! The food came in a timely fashion. Thought it was very expensive and sides were very small for their price

Absolutely disgusting service. Waited 20 minutes for drinks, ordered food at the same time, some food came but 2 others didn't which meant the 3 people had more or less eaten before their meals were serviced. They were busy making take a ways whilst we were waiting. I discussed my disappointment with the waitress who was very nice it wasn't her fault. We then ordered 2 more drinks only to be told 10 minutes later there was no passion fruit then the drinks turned up!! I thought the service was disgusting every time I go there something happens, I will not go again neither will I recommend and write frankly the bill was 95 quid minus the 2 pasta meals but I want my money back!!!

For a chain restaurant it’s pretty expensive for what it is but that’s a company issue not a restaurant issue. I have food allergies and they’re very accommodating to that but I have also done takeaway from them via things like justeat a few times including their “ghost kitchens” and it’s just awful - like seriously don’t bother with ordering it on the apps. Let’s talk food. I have never had a bad meal here. (ignoring the terrible online app experiences and just focusing on actually sitting in the restaurant) . I’ve never sent anything back or ever had a quality issue. Inside the place it’s comfy enough, the food is always hot and the wait times are reasonable. what kills the internal atmosphere for me is the birthday routine where they blare music and turn the lights off. Great someone’s kid is having a birthday the other end of the building, that doesn’t mean I want my conversation interrupted and to be sat in the dark. I imagine this is a company thing but it’s a terrible gimmick and that plus the price is why I usually try elsewhere first and go here when my go to places are busy.

Food was ok but took ages! Really fell down when it came to bar service! Ordered drinks on arrival and 45 minutes later we had to insist we had our drinks. Young guy behind bar seemed clueless and the cocktail we ordered was a mess. Staff constantly seemed to be urging some response from him but he seemed as though he couldn’t care less. Spoilt the visit!

Half Term Pizza Making Workshop 30/05/23 - Definitely recommend! Leo & Lacey love Pizza, so what better way to start the day than getting involved in a slice of the action, where they created their very own masterpizza!! Tracy was awesome, welcomed us and made us feel part of the F&B family! Leo & Lacey donned their Chef Hats and Aprons, enjoyed choosing their own ingredients, decorating their pizza and were entertained by an activity pack keeping them busy while the pizzas cooked in the oven with Chef Dave on hand to ensure they were cooked to perfection!

We hadn’t made a reservation, but when we arrived the restaurant wasn’t that busy there was plenty of empty tables, we were found a table immediately and didn’t have to wait to be seated. We thought the air conditioning was on as it was really cold in there. When we asked we were told the air conditioning wasn’t actually on it was because all the doors were wide open. We had our starters at a reasonable time, then it took over a hour and eventually having to ask the waitress, how much longer would it be before our Mains of Pasta Carbonara, Pasta Arrabbiata and a garlic flat bread would arrive, The waitress who was nice but seemed a little lost inquired, when she eventually came back to us, she said they were plating it up now, we were about ready to leave without food at this stage but thought okay if it’s being plated. It actually took another 15 minutes or more before it arrived minus the garlic bread, we had to ask for that and for Parmesan it wasn’t offered as you would expect when ordering pasta. We were sat right by the kitchen and it seemed that they were so busy with takeaway meals that the people in the restaurant were not the priority., Takeaways seemed to be the main priority, we joked we would have received our food quicker if we had ordered it for delivery. We saw a few drivers collect, deliver and return and leave again with their next deliveries. We did observe that burgers and hot dogs were being served quicker to some diners but I also heard one waiter apologizing for the delay with another couples meals and when we were leaving another elderly couple stopped us they had been there just as long as us and hadn’t received any food at all. We felt so sorry for them as the ladies husband wasn't feeling very well by this time and they were frustrated with the extremely long wait for their food.

An awesome evening and the deputy manager is brilliant . Well worth a visit the food was amazing I would recommend the salmon and desert was lovely.

After waiting 35 minutes for our main course, we had a bollagnais that was all pasta and no sauce and a cajun chicken wrap with 4 small stripes of chicken that wasn't even a quater of a breast with 2 drinks and one garlic pizza the bill was £29.90 . Not good food, not good service and not good value . We used to go every weekend but won't be going again.

Been to the Restaurant a few times before which was great. This time however. The menu has changed and limited variety. Meat balls were dry and tasteless. Beer tasted a bit funky and my Daughters carbonate was like a microwave value meal. Won't be going to this chain again. Was expensive for poor quality food. On a Plus side. We visited for a birthday meal Tuesday evening. It wasn't much warmer inside than outside! We shivered while awaiting our food and left our coats on to eat. Lovely family evening, our waitress Laura was really accommodating with our daughters nut allergy and service was prompt.

Food was nice but the wait was ridiculous. Arrived at 7pm, didn't get asked to order until 7.20pm. then we waited 20m for starters, and another 25 for mains. Very unimpressed with the service. Kids screaming everywhere and kitchen shouting top of their lungs.

We came tonight for a family meal. All the staff where excellent from owain at the door to the amazing bar staff Tom. Our waitress Lucy was fantastic nothing was to much trouble. Food and service was spot on even on a busy Saturday night.

We were staying in the Travelodge & stopped here for breakfast in a fairly large 9-strong group before heading off to a family christening. In spite of the party size (& no prior booking) I was impressed that they were able to seat us promptly....

Lovely desert to finish off but if your ever wondering what to order get the double bacon cheese burger with streaky bacon and Monterey Jack cheese, always hit the spot. The service there was good and very friendly

We regularly visit Frankie and Benny's in Merthyr not only because we love the food but service the staff provide is second to none. Nothing is too much for them and they go out of their way to make sure you are happy with everything....
