Had a lovely welcome from a lady on reception . Shown to a table . Staff were very polite and cheerful , good service and prompt . Coffee was good . Well organised and clean . Enjoyed the ribs and pizza .

Off for a few days relaxing holiday. It didn’t start very well. A rather authoritarian ‘thing’ showed us to our table and tried to demand our order before we’d sat down. The place wasn’t busy, but the food took too long. The servers, including our table’s were too busy maligning people in their mother tongue. Everything was slow. So slow, we were concerned that our flight was soon to be called for boarding. I stood up to check the departures board and was barked at to sit down. We asked for the bill. She purposely took her time. So I stood up, placed cash on the table and was once again told to sit down.After I remonstrated her for talking to me like dirt, she threatened to call security and lose my holiday ! Won’t be returning

Called in for lunch to start off our mini break. The vegan options are really good here. We shared the bbq cauliflower wings which were lush, then the Mediterranean grain salad (lovely and filling but messy to eat because of the hummous…) would order again though! And the vegan pepperoni pizza. I nearly forgot the vegan garlic pizza bread! So so yummy! Tasted fresh and garlicky. Perfect! Food came really quickly and we were so satisfied we didn’t eat again for ages. This isn’t the first time we’ve called in for food before we fly and it won’t be the last!

Absolutely shocking! Before we sat down we asked how long the wait for food would be and were told it would be half an hour which was perfect! 50 minutes later, no sign of our food and we were due to board our flight so we asked for a refund. Quite a few people had a long wait and when their food arrived it was cold so they left. We did notice food sat for ages ready to be served. More staff needed and more organisation! Not a good experience when you need to eat for medical reasons.

We decided to go to Frankie and Benny’s for breakfast and it was definitely the right choice, as it was 4:30 in the morning in January and off peak it was nice and quiet. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely short haired lady and shown to a booth, given some menus and ordered after a few minutes, I ordered the big breakfast and my partner ordered the breakfast wrap, along with glasses of fresh orange and apple juice, the drinks came out within minutes, the pure juice isn’t stored in the fridge so it was room temperature but having ice cools it down nicely and they don’t overfill it with ice either. When our breakfast came out it was piping hot and delicious, just what you need before your flight! We both left full and happy, just over £30 for both of us which is pretty reasonable in an airport environment. It must have greatly improved since it had to shut down due to Covid a couple of years ago looking at all the bad reviews it has had over the years, as we didn’t have a bad thing to say about it! Only gripe really is that the pure juice is pretty expensive (£5 each for a pint glass of it) but like I say it’s in the airport so it’s expected, there is also more of a choice here than upstairs. We didn’t catch the name of our waiter but he sounds polish and he was great, very polite and asked if everything was good with our food. We will definitely return on our future visits to East Midlands Airport (providing they aren’t full up!) Thank you for a pleasant dining experience!

Appalling service in every way. We went to East Midlands airport on 27 July, ordered via the app (we were told only way to order) and food didn’t turn up. We chased and were told in prep. After 1 hour we asked for a refund and were told app hadn’t worked and food never ordered. To make matters worse, payment of £91.40 taken and refund never processed. Called twice but no-one at store can help so passed to customer care. Now conversing by email, responses slow and no urgency to sort something that must be visible from their IT systems (payment and refund receipt not processed) Now in November and still chasing for refund. I only wish I could give zero stars. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

What a start to our holiday. We look forward to dropping of the cases and enjoying a breakfast. I can safety say it was the worse experience we have ever had and we travel a lot.It took 20 minutes to take the order and another 40 minutes for food to come. It was cold so we sent it back. It came out again and was still cold. Several people walked out leaving their food before the Manager finally made an appearance. She said she had probed all the food herself and it was up to temperature. I said if that was the case it must have been sat there for some time. How dare you take advantage of a captive audience with shocking food at ridiculous prices. I DO NOT WANT TO BOARD A PLANE WITH FOOD POISONING 😫

I’m normally very complimentary but sadly this was the worst experience i have every received - The food was Rubbish - everybody’s poached eggs were hard - all app service only - plates were not removed for several hours and tables were not cleaned - how this can carry the Frankie & Benny’s brand i do not know !! we then went again in September later in the day and ordered - 1 meal arrived and we waited 20 minutes and asked were the others were only to be told that they had ran out !! they could have told us before the others had finished and to top it off they even included the missing food on the bill !! never again and to be honest i doubt i will ever go to Frankie & Benny’s again and i doubt the other 7 people will either Disgusting !!!

Shown to seats 20mins later no service after walking around and seeing a member of staff she said someone would be over. Order taken only 1 draft larger working. Ordered a bbq chicken pizza. Drink arrived 15mins later then food 20mins after that. It was warm at best cheese hardly melted. Shocking i couldn't be bothered to complain actually felt like just walking out dont think the staff would of even noticed. Over priced not worth it. Use the burger king instead.

we chose this as it’s normally family friendly. The staff were ok although most of the time a bit clueless we were greeted by an angry older lady. The restaurant was half empty after being told to use the app I had to queue at the bar as it kept crashing. I was told they had no chicken strips - which is mad as it’s a kids favourite, so ordered ultimate mac and cheese it tasted of nothing. My sons margarita pizza was totally burnt and the fries about three days old. We asked for the bill three times before actually receiving it and when asked if the food was ok I said no!!! and had an apology from a worker that had started their first shift. I chose this place as it’s normally family friendly and less ‘junk food’ but our food was absolutely awful. The manager was working really hard but if the quality of the food is poor there is little point. Maybe as the food is offered at the pass it should be checked. DO NOT BOTHER. East Midlands do not have a great number of restaurants to choose from it’s a pity this one is so poor.

I ordered a bacon bap and my partner a sausage, egg and bacon bap, both should come with cubed potatoes. We got beans which we wasn't asked if we wanted them as a replacement. Waitress was rude when told my partner didn't want beans, she just replied "that's how it comes today". My partner asked her repeatedly to take it away and just bring it back plain. She just stood there saying " what's the problem". She was making the problem worst with her surly manner. It was replaced plain eventually, and the tea came half way through our meal, when it should come before. My bacon bap was stone cold, couldn't eat it. Plates taken away without asking how it was. I’m writing this as a very hangry, wanted to be customer! Tried to get some breakfast before a flight at East Mids Airport when the waitress who seated us asked us to use the barcode on the table and app. Filled out the app for a three person order only for it to crash-twice. Then proceeded to ask a waitress to come over and serve us, they said they’d send someone over who never came. Asked a second time to then be moved table but no order taken, waitress just walked off again and didn’t even say if someone would come. Then asked another waiter to please take our order to be told he’ll come back!! 35 minutes later, our gate is boarding!!!! So now off on an empty stomach. Total and utter incompetence. So if you travel from East Mids, I do not recommend wasting your time here.

Greeted by a pleasant young lady, she immediately advised us there was no milk for tea and coffee and no orange juice and there was a 45 min wait for food. A male member of staff took our order, he mumbled at us, didn't smile and was completely disinterested. I ordered a salad, there was none available! Just myself and my daughter decided to order which eventually arrived after 40 mins. Food was ok. Departing for holiday, quick meal was expected, arrived at desk was told only pasta and pizza available due to failed delivery, we looked at the menu and thought that we would order our food on the plane as it's similar and cheaper and we would not have to wait 25 mins as we were advised. Went to the bar to get a drink, -told no Sauvignon Blanc, no draught Peroni or bottled Peroni, when questioning your team they said they did not get a delivery on Friday 11th (it is 15th today) . Having been in hospitality ost of our working life we are disappointed in the standard being offered, surely the delivery should have been rescheduled so customers would not be disappointed? This looks like poor management, we feel sorry for the staff having to handle these issues.

This is an example of where service staff don't communicate (or care about service standards). This is an airport so people don't have time for slow and disorganised service. The no.1 job for an airport restaurant is to serve hygienic and safe food; a very close 2nd is to serve people quickly. We were greeted pleasently by a staff member and seated at a table of our choice - one closer to the windows so the kids could see the planes. The staff member said 'your server will be along shortly to take your order'. 15mins go by and still no server (busy keeping kids entertained so the time easily goes before you know). Other people had arrived after us, we noted, and had already been served and had drinks. I went to ask the member that seated us. They mentioned our server will be along as soon as they've served food to their current table (they did not go and speak to anyone to check). 5 more minutes. Still no server. I ask again. They say they'll be along in literally 2mins. 5 more minutes. Nothing. I mention that we'll just leave if we are not served immediately to which another staff member says it may be quicker to order at the bar (nobody mentioned that as an option beforehand). Stood in bar queue for 10min before ordering. Food did arrive about 10-12min after ordering and was OK. Apparently a server came about a minute after I went to the bar to order (over 25mins after we arrived). Summary - you should not have to ask 3 times, threaten to leave and wait 25min for service anywhere, but especially in an airport restaurant. Good thing we got through security early or we'd have had to abandon the meal and potentially go hungry. A half hearted apology offered not proportionate to the negligence shown. Not professional or acceptable. Staff need better training and service standards.

After walking out of this restaurant the last time we were at EMA a month ago due to queuing ages then not been served we decided to give it another go as there was no queue and the restaurant was quiet. We asked the waitress for booth she marched us down to the back of the restaurant to a table by the kitchen door with ripped seats and the foam hanging out! After we refused to sit there she became more surly than before we were however seated elsewhere. She obviously managed to upset the next customers who we overheard saying as she seated them at the back of the restaurant 'are we not pretty enough to sit up front' which earned another surly look. The meal and the service was up to the usual standard but the beer swilling loud mouthed yobs using every expletive liberally is definitely not what you want to hear in a family restaurant and at that time in the morning. F&B need to sort this out before customers start voting with their feet.

Very simple, hungry 10yr old finicky eater. 8.50 sterling for plan weirdly greasy spaghetti not big enough to feed a baby!! We didn’t realise the size as we took it to go whilst heading for the plane. Robbed in public on a Sunday, does it get much better... wait it does, it took 20mins to get the weirdly greasy thimble sized pasta!! And that included a few minutes to find a plastic fork.... You have been warned.

I didn't expect a good breakfast but we needed something to eat before our flight. The traditional breakfast is £9 and tea is £2.60. I thought it was a bit pricey but only to be expected in an airport. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was lovely,the tomatoes and mushrooms were a bit cold but very tasty and the rest of the breakfast was very nice.

I presume we were fleeced because we were trapped on the air side of security at EMA. We had nowhere else to go. But, I think we would have preferred to have gone hungry. The organisation of the restaurant, if that is not too grand a term for what is basically a glorified "greasy spoon", is woeful. There was a queue waiting for somebody to seat people but there were also clearly loads of tables waiting to be cleared. Perhaps the staff should do some clearing down after customers leave? The menu looks the same as a standard F&B;'s except for the prices. Whilst sat waiting for my poor excuse of an all-day breakfast I calculated that the prices in this F&B;'s were over 30% higher than an equivalent high-street branch for a smaller portion, worse service and more disinterested staff. Avoid and go hungry. It's preferable. Alternatively, pay the extra for the exclusive lounge. Or, get ripped off with a sandwich on the plane. Sounds like Hobson's choice. Perhaps eat before you leave for the airport.

Stopped at F & Bs for Coffee and Toast this week at East Midlands Airport. Hung around for someone to meet us, the front of house gent met us and took us to a table. He was busy rattling cutlery in his pockets, not very hygienic!. We ordered Coffee and two toasted Muffins, the Muffins came within minutes and were just warm and had hardly seen the grill. The coffee came sometime later, it would have been great if our items would have all come together and Muffins been properly toasted.

We always look forward to breakfadt here, part of our family holiday routine, unfortunately that routine now has to change. Staff uninterested, tables not cleared, sat us (a family of 4 with a toddler) next to a table full of young lads drinking and swearing, not l9udly but audible to us. Ordered breakfast at no point were we told that there were none of the potatoes that are usually served, so imagine our super to receive break fast served with fries!!!!! No apology just dismissive oh we ran out. Drinks finally arrived after we had finished breakfast, then had to wait another 5 mins for milk to go with the coffee. A real brand damaging site for Frankie and bennys

Always stop here for breakfast before a flight and am never disappointed. Quick service - there’s a board that says how long you will have to wait once ordering and it’s normally about ten minutes. Gets busy so you often have to queue to get in but then you’re served quickly, so it’s not an issue. Friendly and helpful staff too.

Went here yesterday evening with my husband and son. We ordered the ribs and half a chicken to share. I went to start eating the chicken only to find it was stone cold in the middle. ( And I mean stone cold!) Another meal was brought out and new plates, the plates were dirty and they got another set which was just as bad, as the waiter approached I saw him attempting to rub off a mark. The food was very mediocre. The waitress said it was a new chef, but surely they know how to check if food is hot or not. The tables were sticky too. There was more than enough staff to provide a decent service. So not sure what's going on there. A lot of other restaurants were closed at this point, so didn't have much choice. But next time I go to the airport I won't be eating here. Hope this helps others not to waste their money.

This proved a good choice for us, service was quick and friendly, and although it was busy it seemed less hectic than the other restaurant upstairs. As we were leaving though there was a big queue for tables, so it could be down to lucky timing.

The only decent thing about this place is the lovely and very pregnant waiting staff who has a lovely manner.. So thankyou to her. We ordered 2 breakfasts in an almost deserted restaurant but was so cold we sent them back, as did the other couple next to us. Even when we got a fresh one it was still cold! So I'll go upstairs next time and pay a few pounds more but get better quality food.

We dined here Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was very busy. We had made a reservation and were seated promptly. A drinks order was taken shortly thereafter but they didn't arrive for 10 or so minutes. The starters and mains were served within a reasonable time as we made allowances for the number of diners in at that time. We will certainly visit again but not necessarily on Saturday afternoon.

We ate at Frankie and Benny's EMA on Monday lunchtime while waiting for a flight. Both my husband and middle daughter have been really sick last night/today, having shared a meal. I agree with comments above about the hygiene of one of the waiting staff. Will never go again. What a holiday!

We visited Saturday lunchtime whilst awaiting a flight, what a mistake. I started to be concerned when I watched a member of staff carrying food to a table leaning the plate of food on his shirt, I watched him place the food down leaving part of the wrap and mayonnaise on his shirt just wiping it off with his hand in-front of the customers, truly shocking hygiene.
