It's a good place to people watch, butcher the staff are unnecessarily snooty and not what i would call convivial. Still play Winnie the Pooh audiobolks in the loo, though!

Lovely old-school Italian restaurant

I have been coming here for years and I have never been disappointed. One not to miss. Everything is beautiful.

It's a restaurant with a great atmosphere. We originally had a reservation, but the train was delayed and arrived 15 minutes late. The waiter was still very kind to arrange seats for us. Since I have never asked a waiter to recommend how to order food, the waiter also expressed her thoughts sincerely. We ordered octopus as an appetizer. The thinly sliced ​​octopus was paired with orange and onion. The seasoning was good and appetizing, but the octopus didn't feel very fresh and was a bit off-flavor. Sarah ordered the tomato cheese salad, and the cheese was cut into super thick and large pieces. , the watery cheese is delicious with tomatoes. White truffle pasta, the wide noodles dipped in sauce and paired with truffles is also a delicious dish; the steak looks ordinary, but it is delicious and full of gravy and meat flavor. Pink wine is delicious and girly. Overall a very good dining experience.

It is always a joy to have a meal at this restaurant in the west end. Food and service are always exceptional and very enjoyable to have lunch in the sun.

The place is very nice, but be careful that 2 coffees cost us 13 pounds. I don't want to know what food is worth.

My experience with Franco’s was from a couple months ago - the food tasted pretty good, service wasn’t great but the worst thing is I got the most painful stomachache I had in my life after my meal. Beware of the octopus carpaccio/ shellfish pasta.

This spot was absolutely magnificent- from the food to the service to the atmosphere and even the hand towels in the bathrooms! Our best meal yet in London. Our server Asha was the best!

My go-to spot in London for everything from business breakfast to evening cocktails with my girlfriends. Franco's has the absolute best classic cocktail menu with incredible alcohol-free options making it the perfect spot to enjoy some terrace drinks with drinkers and non-drinkers alike. The menu is true authentic Italian and alongside classic dishes and indulgent pasta they always have some lighter and healthy options which I love. However light a main a might choose, I will always finish my visit with their affogato which is, in my opinion, the best in London! A must visit for tourists and a firm favourite for locals.

Always 5 star treatment, just amazing.

We chose Franco's for a celebratory dinner and it was the perfect decision! The food was very authentic and delicious and the staff were incredibly welcoming and super attentive. I had spaghetti and my guest had the ravioli - the pasta tasted fresh and handmade. Great location too - we will be back!

Good atmosphere, nice vibe. Mid-level service, not the most attentive. Poor quality food and really small portions. The “platter” is more like a plate, certainly not enough for two people. Bread was somewhat stale. Incredibly overpriced for the quality of food.

We managed to get a table outside and enjoy the buzz of Jermyn Street. The restaurant was busy with a very good vibe. I had two starters whilst my partner went for pasta and a veal main course. All were excellent and served by very friendly and attentive staff with some good advice on the different Rose wines.

Franco's is reliably superb, in the quality of the food and drink, the service (truly impeccable) and the general ambience. It is always a pleasure to lunch or dine here. My guest was from Australia and is very widely travelled: she noted that this was, by far, some of the best Italian food she had eaten anywhere. We both had the linguine with lobster for the main course - it was delicious.

Oh wow. It is with deep regret that I have to write this review. I simply do not want other patrons experience be ruined. Do not go to Franco’s for their food. More precisely, their breakfast menu is sub-sub- par. I had their avocados on sourdough toast. OMG- was this bad: from presentation, to execution to delivery on a plate. I have not seen a sadder plate of food, I believe, ever. No effort, no gusto, no sense of what this poor avocado wants to be. [my local caff’ does a more elegant job for a fraction of the price!] - Service was slow (on terrace) but the street cleaning atmosphere at least made me feel alive and an in Central London. Lovely. In short: Avoid for breakfast.

Great service, great food(although wouldn’t go for desserts again as they are too sweet for me but it’s me), the girls who work there are very nice as much as other members of staff. Will be coming back, thank you.

We loved the tuna tartar and the beef tagliata with vegetables is a must try as well. The cavatelli pasta was great too and perfectly al dente. The expresso martinis were perfectly balanced and all the staff was really kind too.

Very Nice coffee and also the Hand Picked Crab Omelette was so good, but not good presentation to add it on the review.

Lovely experience!! We went here for my friend’s birthday and had an assortment of antipasti and puddings. Stefano waited our table and he was great. So kind, fun and prompt! Would definitely go here again!

Ever make that mistake where you end up at a way nicer place than you intended? That happened to me today at Franco's and they did a great job taking care of us even though we were not ready for that level of service. I had Lasagna that was great and the custom made pasta to make the kids happy. Sometimes an experience, even if more expensive than you planned for can be positive when a place like Franco's goes all out for you.

Random place for Lunch. Unbelievable food All the staff are super nice and friendly to help out and serve you. They will make sure u have the right food u need and recommend the best for you. Environment is super nice and had a nice outdoor seating. Food quality is exceptional. The pasta is great and taste right. Not salty and not too creamy. Soup is right with the spice. Prob one of the best Italian restaurants in town. Highly recommended

I found Franco’s on the latest biography of Francis Bacon when his PA was doing a little stop for a quick dinner bite before going home in SouthKen. The rest is history. The experience was remarkable. Service outstanding. Food Delicious. Atmosphere charming. I highly recommend it for any special occasion. I will definitely be returning soon.

Absolutely delightful sitting on the patio. I enjoyed a cigar from Davidoff across the street and had two excellent cocktails. The mule in particular was exceptional and was the best one I’ve ever had.

I had very a disappointing vegan meal - tomato pasta. There was very little tomato sauce and it wasn't well seasoned. Very dry and tasteless Poor value for money and I won't be back.

We went there last night with some friends who highly recommended this restaurant. Firstly, after about 20 minutes, we actually had to ask for menus then it was another good 25 minutes before anyone came to take the order. Again, this was having asked what was going on and please could somebody take our order, especially as many tables that came in after us, not only had their order taken, but we’re already being served their starters… preferential treatment? Then, and only then did somebody actually come and place some olives, nuts, and a basket of bread on the table. This was after nearly an hour. The starters eventually arrived and all seemed well. I myself did not order a starter as I can rarely fit in two courses… Let’s get to the main course, we all ordered the same thing, the veal chop main course which promised much along with a couple of sides. Eventually, our main courses arrived. I could see immediately that mine had not been trimmed at all and the fat on the outside not rendered down and whilst I understand, a little fat is needed for cooking and taste purposes what was left on my chop was quite gross, plus which upon tasting a mouthful was cold, as yet no vegetables served. Again after trying for quite awhile to get somebody’s attention, we mentioned that we were still waiting for our side dishes. By this time our friends had almost finished their meal we were all still waiting for the sides that had been ordered. When only 1 plate of the zucchini actually arrived, I had gone past everything and my friends and husband had finished and the main discussion of the evening was how disappointed we were. We asked to speak to the manager. And even he took his time coming over to our table, we explained all our concerns, and he nodded politely and said that he would adjust the bill accordingly. At this point, we advised him that whatever he was planning to do that he should most definitely not even consider applying the service charge. I asked him to take my plate away.… And no thank you, I would not like anything else and eat alone and also mentioned the missing other side dish which can you believe it still took another 15 minutes to arrive even though they could clearly see that three of the mains had been finished, and mine had been taken away so what was the point of bringing anything more. This was at least 30 minutes after the main course was served. My husband nearly lost it completely then and told the manager not to insult us by even bringing that to the table at this stage and our friends who had been many times before definitely complained that there was preferential treatment going on and generally this establishment must be short staffed. Thriving on past glory one wonders? We most definitely will not be returning, recommending and although our friends company was great the evening was ruined for all of us and in these economic times that is a real shame. We work hard to enjoy a Saturday night out and do not expect an establishment like this to be so deplorable. They did try to make it up to us by adjusting our bill, nevertheless the damage was done! I fail to see how this restaurant gets any good reviews and repeat custom. Our friends have also reported this on Quango , which it was booked through. Go anywhere else!!

Walked in without a booking and was swiftly accommodated. Service was impeccable. Food was outstanding. Atmosphere was welcoming. Would recommend the lobster linguine. Will definitely be back soon.

Myself and my family came in with high expectations after reading reviews and looking forward to traditional Italian cuisine, but were majorly let down and frankly upset after this experience. We were sat in the basement and the waiter for our section, a European man with a beard in I’d suppose his 40’s, and he made the experience probably the worst fine dining service I’ve experienced in probably 15 countries and all my years. We didn’t catch his name and he didn’t care enough to give it to us with probably this foresight, but he was arrogant, pompous, condescending, patronising, insulting, and truly rude at times. I saw him rolling his eyes and making faces throughout serving our table throughout our dinner service and I felt he even insulted my intelligence with snide remarks and did not appreciate this attitude as customers in a “fine dining” establishment. You could receive more courtesy and care from service at a street vendor or fast food restaurant than with this rude man at Franco’s. The food was not good enough to make up for the worst service in London. Do not come here if you expect to be treated with respect as a polite and paying customer.

Attractive room, busy and buzzing with business types for breakfast - but very disappointed that my eggs Benedict appeared not on two buttered muffins but on one slice of value white toast. A VERY STRANGE CHOICE by Franco's - I have never encountered that before. Did they run out of muffins? If so - how about explaining to the customer and asking if they would like brown or white toast - or something else? PLUS - it's a high end Italian restaurant - how about some nice focaccia instead? but good grief not a bog standard slice of white toast.....FFS.

Excellently executed menu - I particularly recommend the tomato pasta and the bread basket to get a taste of just how good the ingredients are! For a bigger meal, the veal cutlet is excellent too. The staff are very responsive to requests and pleasantly attentive and polite

The food was generally okay, with a nice but salty bread basket and tasty dishes like the burrata, pappardelle with mixed mushrooms and black truffle and risotto. However, the overall saltiness was a recurring issue. Unfortunately, we requested Diet Coke with our order, but it never arrived. The waiting time to place our order was quite long, despite asking for assistance twice. Understandably, lunchtime can be busy, but it seemed the establishment to have been understaffed.

So, we knew it would be pricey, but then you expect something a bit out of the ordinary don’t you. Well it wasn’t. The burrata dish for example was uninspired to say the least - a few basic components assembled on a plate. That said the veal in the vitello tonnato was perfectly poached and tasty; just a bit overpowered by the capers and anchovies. The ‘classic lasagna’ would have been more at home in a classic trattoria and needed a good 10 minutes before it was cool enough to eat safely. Then the coffee - which you expect to be great in an Italian restaurant of this calibre, but again we were disappointed. While the service was generally attentive, this may have been more due to wanting us in and out in the shortest possible time (for example, the first course arrived before the aperitifs were finished and the between-course pause we requested was hardly noticeable). Would we go back? Well the good bits (including the casually elegant surroundings) didn’t weigh up against the rest. So, no.

As always, it is a pleasure to host my best guests for lunch or dinner at Franco’s . Wednesday was no exception. The food was superb and the service as usual very friendly. I love coming to Franco’s whenever I am in London.

The food is very qualitative. There is just enough for the quantity. The octopus carpaccio is very good and fresh. The staff takes great care. The restaurant is well located and the bread was really good!

Service was way below average had to literally shout to get any attention , getting the bill was another nightmare… and then the food , I got the Rossini beef, it was supposed to come with foi gras and spinach etc … the foi gras was tiiiiny barely a quarter of my thumb, so small that I only accidentally found it while turning over my steak Now comes the steak , asked for medium came medium well, cold , a bit chewy and off course tiiiny … for a 59gbp main course I was expecting a bit more in taste and portion I had to order a side for 7 pounds which gave me 7 baby potatoes The fondant was tasty but again portions are small and the vanilla ice cream was melting m .. I get the luxury restaurant spiel/appeal but this was just rip off in the context of to the quality of food service and the price charged

I have a had a cocktail of two in the past at Franco's but have never eaten there. i will again. While the food is really just great Italian staples the ambience and quality is excellent. The staff are attentive and adaptable. cocktails were excellent and the food served as you like it. My lasagne was very tasty!

This place isn't cheap but the quality is very high, so it's worth the high price. My starter was a beetroot salad with orange. Doesn't sound that exciting but beetroot and orange combine really well. Who knew? Then for my main course I had venison ravioli which was just superb. Nothing more to say. I also very much enjoyed my bread and butter pudding. The service was also great and the atmosphere was good too. I can't fault this place.

We enjoyed breakfast here. It was jam-packed full of people on a week day. It looked like most people where they for business but there were a few tourists like is. We ordered eggs Florentine and Oatmeal. Both were good. Coffee was delicious.

Are here on Friday 24th - service is very good the young man who served us was a really pleasant lad. Had the cured meats and beetroot and goats cheese to start with very good. I had the venison and my wife the lasagna which was lovely. Good cheese to finish. Really enjoyed it

Franco’s has always been pure class and this dinner was no exception. The perfect combination of understated Mayfair opulence and ambience, outstanding Italian cuisine, superb wine list and impeccable service. Had some of the best pasta in town with a truly authentic espresso to finish and an excellent glass of piedmontese white. Faultless service and friendly staff.

Friday breakfast. Delicious. Lovely coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, excellent tea. We had the full English and eggs Benedict. Both excellent. Friendly staff, lovely dining room. Will be back to try the lunch or dinner menu soon.

The best Italian restaurant in London with a very cosy and traditional environment and classic recipes made with a modern touch but unique taste. Antonino the Restaurant Manager always looks after us and makes us feel like home! You should definitely try the Vitello Tonnato and the truffle pasta . Especially when you get to have some extra shaved fresh truffle on top. Great place for private dinners on the lower ground floor too where is also the wine selection. 10/10!

Not sky high prices but overpriced for what we got. You are paying for the central location…nice premises and I’m not sure what else to be honest. Service was entertainingly bad. “What does the steak come with?” “A plate” bravo ;-) ooh ok well then please hit me with a little bowl of spinach for £8 please!

The best meal I've had all years hands down

분위기 좋고 모든 직원이 친절하고 상냥해요! 영국 음식 원래 이렇게 짠 건가... 라고 생각하기 시작했을 쯤 Franco's에 왔는데 여기선 입맛에 딱 맞게 잘 먹었습니다. 와인 추천 좋고, 파스타 맛있고 메인 요리 더 못 먹어서 아쉬움 제대로 와인 및 요리 시키면 가격 꽤 될 것 같은데 이정도 서비스와 맛이면 만족입니다 (사진은 왜 화장실 밖에 안 찍었을까요 어쨋든 손 씻을 때 휴지가 아니고 타월 주는 거 보고 너무 기분 좋았나봄)

Went for dinner with my wife during our recent trip to London after it was recommended by the concierge at our Mayfair hotel. The food was truly outstanding and the whole experience was enhanced by the beautiful service we received throughout by a very polished gentleman, I believe his name was Antonio. Truly amazing service and recommendations which make our night super special. We will be back!

Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and explained each dish that was presented to us, which elevated our dining experience. 🍽 We had the pleasure of trying a range of dishes from the menu, which consisted of a Selection of cured meats, Fresh hand-picked crab, Poached veal fillet, and ended with a creamy luxurious Pappardelle with mixed mushrooms & black truffle 🤌🏻 Franco's offer an extensive drinks menu, comprising of Signature cocktails, liquers, classics, scotch, and much more. Not forgetting the impressive wine list, bound to please anyone 🍷 Non-alcoholic menu Franco's have recently introduced a non-alcoholic menu, comprising of the finest natural ingredients to give you that 'feel good' sensation without the negative effects of alcohol. All the ingredients are designed to enhance your brain's natural GABA - thought to be the reason why alcohol is so popular. We really enjoyed this concept and would love to see this in more restaurants! 🧡 Lastly, make sure you head to the loo before you leave. On entering, instead of the usual background music, it had been brilliantly substituted with an audio recording of Winnie the Pooh & Paddington Bear, which I thought was the perfect touch to end our visit 🐻

We visited the restaurant yesterday. On arriving the lady who greeted us was very friendly and helped us put our luggage and coats away in the cupboard. We were shown to our table and left there. No wine list was offered and when I asked if vegetarian option was included in the set menu the bearded waiter looked at me as if I was asking something out of the ordinary. Within minutes of being given the menu we were asked what we would like, we asked for 5 minutes to browse the menu. The 5 minutes turned into 15 minutes and I had to get a waiters attention to order. The food when it came was delicious and all the food I could see coming out of the kitchen looked good. Again though as the food was put on our table, a wine list was requested and the chosen wine then took a while to arrive. No one asked us whilst we were eating if everything was ok. I had to again catch a waiters attention to ask for Parmesan on my pasta. The atmosphere felt ‘stiff’ as the bearded waiter hardly spoke and when he did, was curt in his response. His overall demeanour made us both feel uncomfortable and for this reason I would not recommend or visit the restaurant again. This is such a shame as the food and wine was outstanding. The dreadful service has affected the score, if this was good then 5 stars would have been given. It was that bad.

Awful service/ Truly awful. Went in for breakfast, had not booked . Place was pretty empty. Staff made me wait while they pretended to see if they could find me a place. After a while they did so. No one took my order for about 10 mins. Asked for extra hot coffee and got tepid Then my guests arrived, ordered coffee with milk. Coffee arrived no milk. Waiter made sure he avoided our gaze, but finally we got milk from someone else. Waiter, bearded young man continues to ignore us. Sat for an hour with just coffee and menus and no one cam to ask us for breakfast. the young waiter more concerned with straightening cutlery and salt and pepper. He has zero interest to ask about our welfare pr our order. In the end ran out of time and left. The restaurant lost money, they wont see me again and have this bad review. Will they care? I doubt it. Awful place.

We had a lovely 1st & 2nd course until we got the mains. Where the risotto was ok but not worth the £44. The staff were friendly and professional. The restaurant itself was great with a lovely atmosphere. Overall we did have a good time but the experience wasn’t worth the £125 a head we paid, at these prices the food itself must be just as good as everything else.
