Fox and Tree in County Durham

Wow, wow, wow. This was a very wonderful surprise to dine here. We were expecting average/ good pub food and we got restaurant standard wonderful food. The cod fish dish was exceptionally good, and the chocolate expresso ice cream pudding was divine. What a fabulous place…. and just wish we lived locally. The very delightful waitress made our visit even more lovely. This was the best meal we have had in the Durham area.

So lucky to have this on our doorstep. Wonderful food , reasonable prices , amazing staff. We visited for a birthday celebration and the waitress was excellent , we are quite chaotic when ordering but she took it all in her stride with a huge smile . Food choice is varied and all seven of us selected different food. The waitress must of overheard us saying it was a birthday and when the desserts were served the birthday girl got a surprise with a birthday message in chocolate , it’s these kind of small acts that make us support local independence restaurants. Five star all the way ,we will be back again and again and again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely amazing pub for food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere with wonderful staff. We came two nights running while on a family trip and ended up trying most of the menu, all of which was incredible.

Visited for 1st time after recommendation and was not disappointed, Firstly the pub has a dog friendly room so we were able to dine with our pooch. Great menu with plenty of choice and specials of the day which showcased local seafood freshly caught. Started with delicious nibbles, followed by a stunning main of cod loin- all main courses were spot on, well presented and hot which you don’t always get. Shared desserts were yummy. Great atmosphere, brilliant service and top notch food can’t wait to return. A must visit if you haven’t already been. Well done everyone 👍

The best Sunday lunch for miles. I will never be able to post a pic as it’s impossible not to get tucked straight in. Service is superb. Mother’s Day lunch was unreal. The lamb melted in your mouth and for being one of the busiest days for Sunday lunch it didn’t feel rushed at all I’d love to post a pic unfortunately not a chance as I was straight in.

Seven of us went to celebrate a birthday and all were more than happy with the fayre. Menus were varied with a specials board. The food was fabulous and served by very friendly and sociable staff. A good selection of drinks were also available. I've visited this establishment on many occasions and have yet to be disappointed with the offerings. Well done to all.

I attended The Fox and Tree as part of a large group of 13. Food had been pre-ordered, however, a fussy few made some last minute changes and the hosts were more than happy to accommodate. All food was served promptly and absolutely delicious. Will definitely be booking again.

Having passed the pub several times and heard mixed reviews, we decided to try this ourselves for Sunday lunch. The staff were polite and friendly but professional at all times. No complaints about the food, and we will definitely be back.

first time for a meal here and wont be the last, we had a lovely meal and service was excellent, a very well run gastro pub. certainly recommend the rib eye steak and proper chips. oh forgot to mention absolute vodka and coke.

Absolutely wonderful visit, the staff were superb from start to finish, shout out especially to Katie who was so attentive and professional and offered outstanding service. The food was amazing quality, we all ate from the chefs special menu, every course the 3 of us had were superb, my sister said her mushroom pasta was the best she’s ever had. The chef did a fantastic job catering for my diary allergy also and offered lots of alternatives and adapted the menu for me. We were looking forward to a lunch with my husband and father both disabled unfortunately there was nowhere to park in the car park. There are only 12 spaces not sure if there were any disabled spaces as all spaces were taken. Very disappointed as we had heard good reports. Won't be returning until this is sorted sorry.

Warm, cosy atmosphere. Staff were friendly, service was great and the food excellent. Parking was limited at the pub but there's a street across the road and down a few yards.

Visited this lovely pub for Sunday Lunch with a large group of friends. We had pre ordered our lunch choices as we were a large group. The pub has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere and service was super efficient and friendly. Everyone agreed that the Sunday Lunch was absolutely beautiful and there were clean plates all round! The selection of veg was really good, mashed potato was perfectly seasoned and creamy and the meat and gravy were delicious! It was perfection on a plate. This was our first visit but it most definitely won’t be our last!

If you're looking for a place to eat out in Seaham then look no further, we were dining there last night (11th of January) with family members and the food was superb, beautifully presented, a good and varied choice too, plenty of specials, a separate chef's menu as well as the main menu choice.
