Very tasty Sunday Lunch, service from young staff was impeccable.

Nice traditional pub, dog friendly, good range of beers, food is average.

Fantastic food, ive tried both the normal and Sunday menu, both are excellent.

Called in today for some food, had a lovely greeting by both staff. We were taken to a table in the restaurant. Ben took our order for drinks and food, both arrived in good time. Great food, and a good laugh with Ben. Will be back

Attentive and cosy with excellent food.

Stopped before walking in the country park opposite, has its own little car park and attentive staff. Dog Friendly pub, well kept toilets, mixture of locals and walkers inside.

Went to the Fox and Hounds for a Christmas dinner. The food was delicious, the service was good and it was good value for money.

Based upon the reviews we recently looked at, after many years of absence, we visited on Saturday, 2nd December and were greeted by Molly, a very friendly positive character who showed us to our table and ultimately took our order. We found the place to be warm, friendly and comfortable even though it was a very cold evening. We began with the crispy potato skins before moving on to the mains where my wife chose the chicken curry and I had the rump steak which we both really enjoyed. In fact, my steak could have been easily mistaken for a sirloin in that it was very lean, tender and cooked exactly to my request. As the night progressed, we began to appreciate the attention to detail of our lovely host, Molly. We can safely say that we'll be coming back in the near future. PS Very good beer as well.

Only a chicken and bacon baguette bit it was gorgeous.

I had lunch at the Fox & Hounds with my wife and son. We sat in the conservatory. The food turned out to be better than we had expected and the service was outstanding. Our servers were helpful and very attentive. Recommended.

Lovely friendly atmosphere, wide variety of drinks available. Food available didn't eat on this occasion but have previously been good pub grub. Dog friendly, good views, large outdoor area.

Dog friendly, Great food, great staff. We stumbled across this pub/restaurant and assumed it was Dog friendly, which it was. The food menu was great and the food itself was very tasty and a good portion size. Plenty of drinks options at the bar, and good prices. The staff are really friendly and even came to our table to give an update on the food even without us asking about it, so that was great. My only gripes would be: A lunch menu would be great. The food was delicious, but having a steak at 4pm is quite a lot. They could do with a dog menu, being so dog friendly (we saw about 6 other dogs), providing a menu with dog cream, sausages, and snacks would be great. although mine did like the pork cracklings.

I had coq au vin blanc which was fantastic, I think it's was a best, tastiest food I ever eat in the UK. Really recommend.

We had lunch there today, just walking in, so didnt book and was gobsmacked at the value for money food here, it was gorgeous, plentyful and the staff ( young blonde girl) were so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful food, by far one of the best Sunday dinners I've had.

Lovely pub with amazing food. Food did take an hour to come out but it was understandable, it was busy. Once it did, it came out lovely and warm. I had a halloumi burger and it was gorgeous and so were the fries and onion rings that came with it. Would definitely come here again. 😋👍

Limited menu - almost as though they do food but don't want you to eat there. Staff could do with some customer service lessons. Used to come here regularly but don't really bother now as gone downhill. Such a shame

Me and my husband had our wedding reception here and we couldn't have asked for anywhere better to host it! Liam and his team decorated exactly how we asked it to be! the food was lovely, fresh well presented Liam also took all dietary requirements very seriously and made sure there was food for me to eat as being 'vegetarian' his chef did an amazing job preparing that! The staff who catered for us on the 12th of August was all friendly polite very attentive and always on hand to help if needed! me and my husband would highly recommend fox and hounds for hire and will hire again for future parties anyone who's thinking of hiring you won't be disappointed with this highly skilled team Thanks to all the staff for the 12 of August!!

We spent a lunchtime sat outside in the sunshine having walked round New Miller dam. The food was excellent and they had a good choice of real ale. The staff were friendly and helpful...

Nice pub in the popular, but touristy, lakeside village of Newmillerdam. They do a very reasonable menu of pub grub and the section of craft ales is not bad also. The pub is dog friendly, which is good on the whole, but a popular location for lakeside walks means there can be quite a few dogs in the pub on occasion, and the dogs aren’t always that friendly with each other.

Been in a couple of times and it's a pleasant place to spend time and the drinks are OK if a tad steep.

Had a walk round the dam and called for lunch. Had the best baguettes ever . I had ham and cheese and my husband had brisket. With the skin on chips and salad it was a super lunch. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

First thing to say is that the portions for food were very generous (never a bad thing). The food was cooked well and the quality of produce was clear. We did order fries but were served skin-on-chips (different items on the menu - not ideal as my wife doesn't like skin-on-chips but I do, and they were nice just not what was ordered). The food arrived quickly (think most were drinking rather than eating and they were all outside in the lovely early evening sun of the Saturday we attended). It was a busy day so the diet coke we ordered came out of a recently restocked fridge and were near room temperate so be sure to get ice. We swapped an item on my meal and this was no trouble at all. Would highly recommend a visit after a walk around Newmillerdam but due to its location parking in the pub car park is like gold dust so be prepared to park in Newmillerdam and pay a small amount for this.

Place is nice but the food I did not like. I ordered something called beefrib or similar. It came with gravy, green pees and potatomousse. The meet was basically 90% fat. Rest was chewy. Pees were ok. Very uninteresting and frankly dissapointing.

Following a lovely stroll around New Miller Dam today, Thursday April 2023 went into this pub (with our dog) and had homemade pie, chips n peas with gravy and mint sauce. Absolutely fantastic meal. Various pie selections to choose from. Thursday is pie night from 4 pm onwards. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.

Both my husband and myself had the chicken and leek pie, but unfortunately neither of us like butter and milk in our mashed potatoes so we had to have chips, they came with skins on, which I find disgusting. The carrots were that hard you could not chew them, so that left me with mushy peas and pie at a cost of £13. Definitely will not be going back there again.

Not been here for many years After a lovely walked around newmillerdam called for a drink & a spot of lunch. Lots of changes to the outside seating area which are now fabulous suntrap. Lunch menu is is varied & great value We'll definitely call again

Been visiting a few times for Sunday lunch after a lovely walk round New Millerdam lake. Lunch used to be good. Unfortunately this time it seems that it's gone downhill. £15 for either roast beef or chicken. I ordered beef hubby asked for bit of both. I got 1 thick slice of beef, a Yorkshire pudding, 2 small roasts and a spoonful of mash. My beef was very chewy and one side was all fat which the dog got. Hubby got half chicken breast and a small slice of thick beef. Vegetables weren't brought out with the meal. We had to ask for them. Not much veg. Much smaller portion. Hubby had asked for extra gravy. Again we had started eating so food didn't go cold before gravy was brought. Vegetables were still quite hard. Don't feel that it's good value for money anymore. Next table to us did get 2 good slices of beef on their plate and stuffing which we didn't. When asked if everything was ok I said that I wasn't happy with the meal. Sunday 26th February.

Called for a meal on Thurs 26th Jan late afternoon and it was great and at a good price the meal was served hot and in good time well done to the staff

Absolutely lovely place, all our sunday roasts, Chicken, pork, beef, spot on. 😋 we had the two course with pudding. Jam rolly poly. All wonderful and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend highly. 👌 🙂

Bar staff excellent. On a hole everyone except me had a nice meal. Everything I asked for, out of stock very limited on choice after that. Rather upset as we spent well over £200 in total for our table. I ended up with chips, onion rings and a headache due to overly loud music, which started at about 830, left due to noise. Lovely pub sorely let down by kitchen and band/sound system.

It's a local pub has a bar pool table and serves food I didn't try. The staff are all friendly though.

Pie was overcooked and burned black, the mashed potato that came with it was full of lumps. Everything else seemed dehydrated and way overcooked. Is it really that hard to cook pub grub? Staff were really nice and the pub is in a beautiful location. I think if they employed a chef who could cook this would be a 4/5 *the mash is an optional (and regrettable) substitute for the chips with the pie

Really nice pub next to Newmillerdam with friendly staff. Food however was terrible. The pie was really dry and tough. The staters and sides were stale and soggy. Me and the family might call back for a drink after a walk but would not eat here again.

Really low quality pub food. Soggy, stogy chips, pie crust burned black, THE LUMPIEST MASH I have ever seen. Soggy salad. Garden peas were good

We walked around the damn n called in for tea and it was really nice the young girl serving was lovely , we did not wait long but it wasnt that busy ,reasonable prices too and portions were generous theres was also a teatime menu but we were just a bit late for it

Had a Sunday Roast recently. The meat was lovely. However, the veg provided was one small dish with 2 x cauliflower , 2 x broccoli a small amount of peas and carrots. Certainly not enough for 2 people. We asked for another one but was told will be chargeable. A few roast potatoes on each plate wasn't enough and needed a little longer to crisp, finally the menu said " home made Yorkshire puddings ". They certainly where not and tasted bland. Very disappointed unfortunately......

We had a good night on Saturday with friends. There was a live band playing "Cover Story" an older trio playing something for everyone.

Booked a meal here, lovely place. Food was excellent, she had Fish and Chips and I had Gammon, Egg and Chips with the juiciest piece of pineapple you could imagine! Chloe provided excellent service throughout and was very pleasant. Very reasonable priced too. There was a DJ on playing great songs too. Would highly recommend. 😃

Called in today for lunch, a very welcoming staff, a good selection of drinks available. I was surprised to find supplied by Bradfield Brewery. I chose gammon, my mate the sausage and mash. Both arrived in ample portions and were delicious, a very enjoyable lunch. We will return...
