Fox and Hounds in Eastleigh

We knew this pub from many years ago, so were keen to revisit with my family. It is a lovely location. Nice welcome and got a great table - near the light, as requested, as 2 of our party are deaf. Majority of the food was lovely, although the asparagus was basically cremated and some things weren't available. Some of the issues were poor: * The coffee machine was being serviced, so there was no hot water for tea. And apparently no kettle or even a saucepan for hot water either. (Why were they servicing a machine on a lunchtime service???) *The specials board was not up-to-date, but even the supposed "up-to-date" paper copy of the specials were not available!!! (Really??) We're booked to go again in a month, so we will see if they improve.

Absolutely love The Fox and Hounds. We have been going here for years and always get great food and great service. Today was no exception. Lauren & Gab couldn’t do enough for us and even sang happy birthday to my husband. The food was fantastic, the belly pork was amazing. We’ll be going back soon to try something else from the menu.

Really good experience. The mushroom wellington and the 7 hour beef were excellent. Gabbie was attentive and very helpful. All the staff were. Will be going back

Tasty dinner and lovely service from Tony and the team. Our 5 year old loved that they sang him happy birthday and put a candle in his brownie! Brilliant dinner out, as always here.

Been for lunch a few times. Nice quiet atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is good although vegetable sides are usually frozen veg. Chips and mains are good though.

Looked after very well by Gabbie and Mia - both very attentive, and welcoming. Food was very tasty, good quantities, plates,and hence food, were hot. No salads were available, except as a side dish. Atmosphere, in Lone Barn, was very pleasant

Jackie was a lovely hostess, something was unfortunately wrong with my food, however it was corrected, lovely lady and lovely chats

Great family dinner today! Lovely service from Gabbie and Mia! Even brought out a birthday surprise.

Delicious food! I had the sharing camembert and then the soup of the day; celeriac and truffle - yum! Gabby and Mia were very attentive, and a great laugh, their know good service!

The atmosphere at the Fox and Hounds was very welcoming. The food was good and the service was excellent especially from our waitress Lauren.

Turned up around 7-8pm time with no reservation and was seated instantly (during half term) and with a dog. Service was quick and friendly. Worth subscribing to "Chef and Brewer" as they send vouchers now and then. Plenty of parking, overall great experience- but food quality wasn't as great as other Chef and Brewers. Maybe just a bad batch of chips and burnt buns was a one off? Only visited once. Lovely atmosphere and nice clean toilets.

What a beautiful little find this pub is 😍 gorgeous inside and out! Lovely staff and all very welcoming. We find it hard as a family to find the perfect place to eat as our youngest is so fussy.. but she said it was the best burger she's had! Hunter's chicken was a winner for us too. Gabrielle recommend the salted caramel sundae it was delicious 😋 We will be back very soon!

Food was okies, brought my little girls' meal out last... only the downside was the daughters chicken and chips n peas meal. The chicken was so dry and overdo she couldn't finish it. Service was a bit slow.

Came for Mother’s Day (a week late) Gabbie was amazing! So friendly and even gave me a desert plate that said happy Mother’s Day, and a sweet gift bag that was left from the week before.

Very nice restaurant with friendly staff, lots of different tasty food options, including vegan/vegetarian choices. Toddler friendly, too. The only very small negative point is that there can be quite a bit of a wait for food/drinks. We enjoyed it a lot and will definitely come again.

Awful! The service was dreadful, sat for ages before our drinks order was taken. Then waited even longer for anyone to take our food order. Staff were not especially attentive. Food arrived , very small portions, had rump steak which was ok but very few chips and salad. Came away still hungry. Mixed grill meat was dry and chewy. Did mention it and got told we will try harder next time.... Would not recommend or return.

We were served by the super friendly and helpful Lauren O. Possibly the biggest Yorkshire pudding ive ever had. We couldn’t finish our main meals but still managed pudding!!!

I took my mum here today for mothering Sunday, we have visited here several times, it a lovely place tucked away, great attention to detail on service, today we were served by Molly, lovely smiling lady, couldn't have done any more for us. For a busy service we didn't have to wait too long. Just one teeny thing, the ice cream was quite waterery, i.e., lots of ice crystals ,I'm a bit of an ice cream freak so probably other people didn't notice. But saying that I would go back as we both had a fab time.

Visited the fox and hounds on Sunday which happened to be Mother’s Day the staff were great made the time to briefly speak to me while they were working that was much appreciated

We arrived without a booking on Mother's Day and straight away we had a table in the barn greeted with compliments and smiles. Lauren O are waitress was very professional great service she had a lovely smile and also the other waitresses that served our table. Food was great I would definitely recommend to anyone to go there. X

Mia and Lauren provided exceptional service, super friendly and attentive. Food was pretty average (we all had roast dinners) bringing down the score but could not fault the staff

Came here for a Mother’s Day lunch which was delicious. Gabbie looked after us so well, and was really great interacting with our little boy. The rib of beef just fell off the bone which was so tender! Would def come back. Also a little treat was given to me as we left as a little Mother’s Day gift which was a lovely treat!

Every time we visit the food is great. Mother’s Day roast was awesome. Our server Molly was attentive, polite and brilliant with our 1 year old. Kudos to one of the waiting staff who got extra broccoli for our daughter after she refused all food apart from broccoli. Top notch!

Went for breakfast with the family to celebrate a birthday. Dee and Gabs were so friendly and attentive. We had a lovely time and enjoyed our food. Some ingredients were out of stock, but Dee and Gabs more than made up for it. They even brought out a little ice cream with a candle in it and happy birthday written in sauce for my grandad at the end! Will definitely go again to experience the fab service and yummy pancakes.

We met for a family meet up and it was a cosy and comfortable space. So nice and we had good food and drink and the order was quick, the staff were lovely.

Wonderful pub. Super friendly staff. Great all year round. We've been frequenting this pub on Friday afternoons, for many years. The staff a great and good for a laugh. We visited on the 22rd of March to celebrate my daughters 19th birthday, we were greeted by Shannon and shown to out seats and was made to feel welcome straight away, she explained the starters and was very helpful through the dinning experience. The food was excellent and service was fast and timely for a table of 10 people. Despite my daughter not liking any real attention for her birthday and not wanting us to make a fuss and sing happy birthday, the staff surprised her with her dessert with happy birthday wrote on the board in sauce and a candle in the brownie, a very nice touch. and even took the time to take some photos for us. I would like to thank the team and especially Shannon for her attention during our visit for making our eveing a special one, she even took the time to take some photos for us. ☆☆☆☆☆

Great value roast dinner. Great size portions and only £17 for the trio of meats. Gabbie our waitress was great and very accommodating.

The service was excellent, the food ok. I was however, extremely disappointed in the change in the main part of the pub and also in the barn. There is a carpet down covering the beautiful flag stones up, not in keeping and the barn was devoid of a lot of the farm implements that made for a wonderful place to sit and eat. In the main part of the pub, no atmosphere what so ever, again an awful carpet covering up the beautiful flooring. Devoid again of the items that used to be there. These buildings are old and should not be change to create a ‘modern’ look. Will not be going back disappointing

A hidden historic gem with lots of character and lovey food, we were looked after by Shanon and Dee who were very friendly, cheerful and attentive.

So it was a birthday for 11 of us we had a lovely table and plenty of room for us. Plus a high chair. Gab,Molly,and Mia did a great job looking after us with our drinks and food. Even talking to the children finding out what they liked. Most of us had Sunday dinner which was Delicious! And plenty of it. A free bottle of wine for the birthday boy which we got from the app. Worth down loading.👍 Thank you for a great birthday lunch and the ice cream with a candle for Happy Birthday song.

Booked a table for my partners 60th birthday for 6 people the food was amazing and all the staff even more so very friendly and helpful do yourself a favour and visit this place you will not be disappointed thank you to everyone 👏

Having had 3 successful meals here in the past this quickly become our favourite place to come for a nice quality meal for 2. Have just been this evening and what a stark contrast. The service was abysmal, the food felt rushed and not to the standard of our previous 3 visits. Its worth noting on our previous 3 visits we were served by Gabby who is amazing, attentive and friendly. We were left 40 minutes after finishing a meal with no-one asking if we wanted drinks, desserts or the bill. This is such a shame and has left a bad taste in our mouths.

Disappointing Sunday Roast :( Visited for the first time on Sunday early evening. Few items out of stock. Both roasts ordered were missing carrot and swede mash (not substituted) and Yorkshire pudding overdone (bit burnt and dry). Turkey and potatoes were tasty, but could have been warmer. Caramel sundae was one scoop of chocolate and one scoop of vegan ice cream (substitute as clotted cream out of stock) sadly only two pieces of brownie and no cheesecake pieces as listed, so might as well go for 3 scoops of ice cream for less price than the sundae (although the vegan ice cream was nice, the rich coconut flavour didn't really work with the caramel). Ambience of the pub was welcoming and easy parking, so will come again, just not sure I'd go for a roast as didn't think it was value for money with missing items and other items clearly not being as fresh as they could have been.

All I have to say is a 1.5 hour wait. The food never came. Drinks took half an hour which is totally unacceptable when we were sat about 10 feet away from the bar. No cutlery until after starters arrived. If a zero star review was possible I would leave one. I do not reccomend

Attended The Fox & Hounds on a busy Saturday night without prior booking and despite it being relatively busy, the Host Tony managed to find my friend and I a table. I was unsure what to have for both my main and dessert, stuck between a few different choices. Tony gave me recommendations for both courses which I went ahead with and so glad I did as both were delicious. It had been some time since I had last been to the Fox and Hounds but after my experience tonight, I will not wait so long to return. It was lovely food, service and atmosphere, all the staff were super friendly and helpful.

Chefs board was poor. Squid not crispy and under cooked Chicken was cold. Sausages not as described on menu, Waited 35 minutes for the food to arrive. Service was slow.
