Fowl and Fury in Cardiff

My recent experience at Foul and Fury was, unfortunately, one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had. While the food was decent, the customer service completely overshadowed everything else, turning what could have been an enjoyable evening into an unpleasant ordeal. We spent around £100 on food, so it’s not as if we weren’t supporting the business. However, the drinks at the restaurant were grossly overpriced, so we opted to bring our own after realizing this. When we began enjoying the drinks we brought, we were abruptly told by the owner that external drinks weren’t allowed. I understand that restaurants often have policies like this, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and, frankly, rude. Rather than politely explaining the rule, the owner chose to escalate the situation, claiming that it was “disrespectful” to drink external beverages on the premises. While he painted himself as the victim in this scenario, he overlooked the broader context: we had already spent a significant amount on food, and not everyone can afford to pay the extortionate prices set for drinks. What made it worse was the tone and attitude. Instead of showing empathy or understanding, the owner’s remarks felt like an attempt to undermine me personally, implying that my financial constraints were the issue rather than their sky-high pricing. This level of condescension is unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Overall, while the food was fine, the service left a sour taste that no meal could salvage. If Foul and Fury is serious about building a loyal customer base, they need to rethink their approach to both pricing and customer relations. Until then, I wouldn’t recommend dining here unless you’re prepared to pay through the nose for the privilege of basic respect. Rating: 1/5

I absolutely adore this place. Genuinely the best spicy chicken I’ve ever had (I’m now vegetarian but think about it DAILY) Their Mac and cheese is also unreal. Vegan chicken anytime soon? 👀. The owner is a lovely guy too!

Absolutely brilliant place. Without a doubt, every time I’ve visited the place I’ve been met with incredible service, respect, patience, and most importantly, delicious food. Every colleague there, the owner, the servers, the cooks etc are all as good as the last and they do their upmost to ensure that you leave Fowl and Fury with a smile on your face, even if you burn your mouth off. Ps, for the love of your God, please be aware of the rules, eg. No outside food or drink. You’re not the queen, you don’t get special treatment. Treat them with respect and best believe they will treat you with the same back. Five stars every time!!!⭐️

The BEST fried chicken in Cardiff or Wales (to correct myself) you can ever have for yourself. The Team goes to beyond and above to make sure the food is of top quality and the customers are well treated with respect. Not having Fowl & Fury when in Cardiff is an absolute loss.🔥

Plain and simply incredible. I love how simple the menu is because everything in the menu is done to perfection. The sando burger is easily the best I’ve had, UK or USA. The staff are super friendly and the Instagram page is 10/10 content! Can’t wait for the canton branch to open! Oh, also, those pickles…… forget about it! 10/10

Im absolutely appalled by the experience that I just received at this restaurant. We spent over £100 in the shop in the restaurant and we were treated with absolute disrespect by the owners for finishing off a fantastic fruit twist I had previously bought. We were treated as if we had committed a major felony and we were refused further service. The owner are clearly very greedy and want to squeeze every last penny out of you. I think that there was a slight racist element to their comments as we were approached before even entering the shop where they explained their guidelines whereas when another individual of welsh origin walked in, nothing was explained to him. I am certainly never returning and i urge you to do the same as this was one of the worst experiences ive ever had at a restaurant.

Went here a few weeks back and forgot to leave a review…the best tasting (and by far hottest) chicken I’ve ever had! Amazing service and food! We need more places like this to compete with all the pointless food chains that are taking over!

Hands down the best chicken sandwich I've had - and there is a lovely team behind it. Nothing compares to this, at least in Cardiff. Would recommend this spot time and time again.

The way we were spoken to was shocking—we were made to feel like criminals and were even refused further service. The atmosphere in this place is toxic, and it’s clear the owners care more about squeezing every last penny out of their customers than offering a decent dining experience. Their attitude was hostile and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, there was an unsettling sense of discrimination in how we were treated. Before we even entered, we were aggressively informed about their "rules," yet a customer of Welsh origin was allowed to walk in without so much as a word. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I won’t be returning, and I strongly urge others to steer clear of this awful establishment. There are plenty of better places to spend your money where you’ll actually be treated with respect.

Food is great. It’s basically popeyes style chicken but with their own spin on it flavour wise. The chicken is juicy very juicy & cooked through. Chips are insanely good & well cooked. My only complaint is the price & portion size ultimately they want around 3 strips for £11.50 but if I went to popeyes for very similar chicken I could get 8 strips for less than that. Burger is roughly half that. Chips can’t compare though. Amazingly good food but price is high for what it is & in this case the food was slightly overdone & the breadcrumbs were burnt.

Honestly some of the nicest chicken I’ve had in a long time, and the Nashville fries were perfection. Just be mindful of the spice levels, if you go as even the mild is hot! Absolutely lush food, lovely welcoming staff and will definitely be back again. I’ll even forgive being rickrolled! 🤣

Incredible chicken, what a place!

Absolutely banging little chicken shack in the mist of a fast food mini village (I'm not from Cardiff but there are like 30 takeaways all nearby) Couldn't decide what to eat one night and stumbled across this place online so thought it would be worth a visit and I was I right ! Menu really simple, staff really friendly and the food is delicious 😋 I opted for a chicken burger and chips, I'm not really a carb man so should of gone for the tenders but it was mega, the chicken was massive and flavoursome, not joking about the heat of this place, take it easy, I reluctantly went for medium on advice of the server and it was just right for me but I'm a vindaloo man, a group of lads on the table next to me had mild and were sweating buckets😂 Portion size was brill, tenders looked massive and cheap too! Deffo worth a visit, its rated as one of the best for a reason, staff are super friendly too, can't wait for it to be a chain😋

So medium is a little hotter than the Nandos black sauce, didn't fancy doing the one chip challenge again with a piece of chicken so didn't go hotter. Friendly staff, decent quality

I can assure you, unless you’ve been to fowl and fury you haven’t come close to having your taste buds climax. I’ve never had chicken so tender, tasty and satisfying. Better than any man. Lord help me. Just, just go. Now. You won’t regret it.

THE BEST fried chicken I have ever had ( Sando & Tenders), my go to place when I think about having fried chicken. The place, the food, the service, the crew and the owners are just amazing. Google is restricting me till 5 stars but they definitely deserve more than that.

Epic hot chicken! Straight out of Nashville! Cheese fries also awesome. You can tell it’s made from scratch. I don’t like pickles normally but here there were excellent. I wouldn’t change a thing. It made the sando!

The best fast food place in Cardiff (maybe the world…)! The chicken is the best. It is spicy so don’t be fooled and think a medium is the same as a nandos in terms of spice levels 😅 We have been coming for a while and it never fails. Amazing taste in music too, it just makes a sando go down even better!

came to cardiff from london to visit my friend and she introduced me to this place! honestly the best burger ive had in my whole life, no exaggeration. i love it so much that i have my friend to bring me it when she comes to visit me in london. the staff was super friendly too! hoping one day they’ll be a branch in london 🙏

Came with high expectation and paid a chicken burger and loaded fries for £19.50 total which is quite expensive as in my opinion food quality did not match the price. Chicken in the burger was really dry and made it tough to eat. The fries didn’t seem seasoned and not a lot of sauce so was a bit dry. Have to wait around 30 mins to get food. 🌶️ Staff were friendly though:)) Can get Popeyes spicy burgers and fries for half of the price of this and they taste much better :p 🍔 🍟 🥤

Take their spices seriously (even if you’re Asian… 😂). Food came out piping hot - the sando was 8/10 and the tenders were 8/10. A lot of flavour, too much if you don’t like dry rub on your tenders though.

Cool little spot not too far from the centre of Cardiff. I went for the nashville hot SANDO and let me tell you that was hot! 🔥 Listen to the staff when they tell you what heat to go for. Chicken had a great coating, lots of flavour. I really enjoyed the strips too. Well worth a visit! And will be back soon to hopefully try the wings. @bristolian_foodie

Delicious, fresh and high quality. The shop is incredbly clean. The staff are very friendly. A little on the expensive side but it's worth it for the quality you get. A nice meal as a treat.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place, I got put on to it about a year ago and haven’t gone to another chicken joint since, whatever they do to their food should be considered magical, this place is a must visit for anyone who loves spice or just good grub in general. The staff are lovely lads and ladies and always polite and professional, considering how the menu varies I’ve rarely had to wait more than 15 minutes for my food. Good very personal location as well with good vibes, definitely my favourite independent restaurant in Cardiff and would recommend to anyone. Two gorilla thumbs up.

I came in with food from outside because my fast was going to open in a few seconds so as I sit down I grab some chips from my bag and I take a bite and a worker comes and asks me to leave and while she was talking I was chewing my food and instantly a worker called Jaime comes and starts screaming at me and my friend then we don’t argue and agree to leave as we are leaving they barge my friend and he drops his food and they said they arnt going to serve my friend but as we leave they say they are going to serve him but I feel like this was a act of racism because me and my friend eating were non white race as my other friend was white they serve him with respect. This is absolutely unacceptable, I had to open my fast because of my religion and people like Jaime seem to be trying there best to prevent us people from doing this stuff. I also stated to him this was part of my religion. OUTRAGEOUS!!

Best Nashville chicken I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating! Loaded mac and cheese is real nice too! If you like spicy this is the place to be i can’t get enough of the fury sando🔥! Would highly recommend this place! Staff have been really nice and helpful! Parking is super easy. I travel from Swansea to Cardiff just for this food! Everything about it is unbelievable!

Been wanting to try this chicken burger for months and it did not disappoint. It was busy so about half hour wait for takeaway. Small space but has all you need. It’s not cheap at £10.50 for s burger but the ingredients are quality! Would visit again!

Well what can I say...absolutely superb Chicken Sando...I asked for a hot one, but was advised against it...I went for the Mild one as suggested, 🥵 enough...May got medium next time...as there will be a next time guaranteed...never been that impressed with a fried chicken burger in decades...gotta love this place...

We first found these guys when they were a resident trader at a Cardiff street food venue a couple of years ago. Being a bit of a spice fiend I wanted to give them a go, they did not dissapoint! We've been going ever since (not as much as we'd like too!). Ive had the mild, medium and hot sandos and tenders and they are always spot on! My go to is medium as it packs one hell of a spice hit bit is sooo tasty, you can pick out the spices and theres an undertone of sweetness, you wont find any better chicken in South Wales or anywhere outside the US (or perhaps inside- its that good!). Please do adhere to how spicy they say it is, the medium is super hot but the hot is another level- the spice is a grower so be careful! Not ventured to the Fury though- maybe one day. Their food isnt around long enough to take pics of! But for £9 is very good value as the Sandos are stacked with pickles, coldslaw, their homemade comeback sauce and a thick piece of well coated, spiced chicken. Weve dined in and click and collect most recently and its all cooked fresh and the owners are super friendly and you can really tell they are passionate at wjy the do. Its seriously good so please pay these guys a visit- 20 min walk from the city centre so not far really.

Me and my partner have been here SO many times, and we are massive fans. Don’t piss about and try to order really hot, it is not for the faint hearted. But the quality and taste of everything is absolutely incredible, and it cannot be faulted. Takeaway is just as good as having it in person, so enjoy

Honestly one of my favourite spots in Cardiff, one that I will rave about to anyone who will listen. The food is excellent, Medium really does mean hot, Hot means it’s going to really burn, and Fury means…well, you must have some serious disdain for your stomach, and I LOVE that fact. The guys that own the place Jamie & Natalia are legends in their own right, and the staff they have assembled (like some kind of Hot Chicken version of The Avengers) are an epic bunch too. The place may be small, but the antmosphere and the playlist is mighty. If my bank balance would allow, I would eat Fowl & Fury sandos five nights a week, but alas, it doesn’t. Go eat hot chicken in my stead, seeing as I cannot go five nights a week. Peace.

Best Chicken in town. I've loved Fowl and Fury since the sticky fingers days, incredible flavour, great quality and a no nonsense approach to spice! Since they've opened the new shop I literally cannot stop ordering as my go to takeaway treat and eating in is fantastic too. The sando is second to none but my favourite is the tenders meal (mild if I want a lil spice but to keep it chill and anywhere from Medium to Fury if I'm feeling like I need a thrill.) The staff are the best folks around, super friendly and the value for money is immense. Just go in or order it, you will not regret it.

Great local place with some of the nicest chicken, with the option to adjust spiciness up to painful levels if that's your kind of thing. Interior is small and plays constant pop punk, which is great fun but might mean you prefer a takeaway depending on your tastes (makes for fun nostalgic waiting music for me.) The cauliflower is a surprisingly great vegan option, I'd reccomend the cauli fury fries though the burger is also nice.

Best fried chicken not just in Cardiff but anywhere! The quality is always consistently brilliant whether you get takeaway or sit in. These guys are dedicated to all things fried chicken. You will be back for more.

I’m really not exaggerating when I say this is THE BEST chicken I have ever had (And probably will ever have!!!) You can tell from every item on the menu just how much care has gone in to every aspect of everything the team here at Fowl & Fury create, and it’s truly paid off! It’s somewhere I am happy returning to time and time again, recommending to people and bringing people who come to visit me there because they just have to try it! Always friendly and professional, the staff here are top tier. They create an amazing chill, friendly and clean environment with great vibes, music and food. It’s always such a happy feeling coming here. Food is always hot, (spice and temp lol) fresh and served in a timely manner whether you’re dining in or ordering take out from them! A place that is a must to anyone’s list of places to try!

Visited here yesterday for the first time. Food was really nice staff were friendly and welcoming. I had the tenders meal with a root beer. I asked for medium level spice when I was warned that their medium was very hot. I like hot food but this was mega hot, my mouth was on fire lol. Listen when they say it's hot. Overall it was banging and will definitely be back soon!
