Found this place Saturday 26 September. The food is simply gorgeous. The Budda bowl is packed with flavour and is the best thing I have tasted eating out in the 12 months we have been plant based. Thank you so much. The lady who runs the place is so enthusiastic about food, a wonderful lady.

Visited here with family. Disappointed to say the least. Food was abysmal. Doorstep bread, half cooked, bland cheese sauce and I sliver of bacon? The place needed a clean. Food left in open. Not cheap

Open on Bank Holiday as expected, Four & Twenty is lovely and serves a nice cup of tea and cakes. Selection isn't too huge and they run out, which confirms that it's popular and fresh. Lively and enjoyable

Called in here for a quick lunch, service was attentive and friendly. A couple of things on the menu had sold out but we easily found other options - lots of interesting and fairly unusual things to choose from. Everything was really tasty and good portion sizes, unfortunately we didn't have desserts but they looked great too! The fried potatoes with the mucky ducky butty were a particular highlight.

My son and I were made to feel very welcome, as well as the dog! The Hash Bowl will go down in history as my son said it 'was the best he could have imagined and I will have to go back for another very soon.' GF and DF intolerances were catered for without any issues. A lovely atmosphere run by people who are interested in their customers and want everyone to enjoy their product. Thank you Sarah, a good start to my son's birthday!

The food here is a bit unusual and very tasty. Good vegan options and it's dog friendly too. Unfortunately the service let them down. We arrived 1.30pm on a Sunday. Noone explained the Sunday lunch options (ie set prices for 1,2,3 courses) and our main courses were cleared while our son was still eating. He finished 5 mins later and we waited and waited but noone reappeared (we were upstairs). We would have liked a dessert but after waiting 30 mins with still noone checking if we wanted anything/more drinks, we decided to leave. Such a shame because the waitress was friendly and the food was tasty. Felt like they just wanted us to leave so they could get home...

Been meaning to have a look at this place for a while. Took the opportunity to pop in whilst in Corbridge for the Xmas fair. Very welcoming and friendly, lovely quaint place, Wife had soup, delicious and I had haggis and potatoe pie, to die for! Will be popping in for breakfast after a dog walk this week. I especially like the sound of their ‘doorstop breakfast sarnie’

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
