Lovely restaurant, food was excellent!! Staff were so good, however slightly discourteous to our group as they forgot a couple of things throughout the meal and then were a bit disingenuous about us reminding/asking. Absolutely would recommend anyway though, lovely place to have dinner, just to be aware if going on a busy night!

Food...pretty blah, nothing to pull you back there. Italian bread starter wasn't even served warm, and the texture was like cake. Cocktails ok. Overall...disappointing.

my wife asked if we could have our dog inside... whomever she asked, told her that we can have only outside table. Then, when my wife , son, dog, and I have a 2x tables next to each other with 4 chairs, the whomever came out to ask us to squeeze in a small table which is not suitable for more that ordering drinks. I have challenged him if that suits four of us, and he was rude in his answer... So we walked away and ended up in a fantastic and real dog friendly restaurant .....

We had a really lovely meal here, we were told when we arrived we'd only have an hour and a half (we hadn't booked) on the table. Service was fast and friendly we were served primarily by Hector. The Italian breads starter with oil and vinegar was really nice and tasted high quality. I had the aubergine parmigiana which was delicious and my mum had the mushroom gnocchi which she said she really enjoyed. We'll definitely be back when we're in London again!

Booked today at 3pm for my 2 cousins and there 2 kids. We got turned back upon arrival because their alcohol license apparently does not allow kids in the restuarant kids past 5pm? That's fine, however, I was told that they tried to contact me all morning. Well I booked at 3pm, and had no calls. So not sure how the staff was trying to contact me all morning. Seems strange all families would be unable to dine out with their kids in Soho past 5pm? Very disappointing service.

Wonderful little restaurant in the heart of soho .. no complaints and this is a return visit. The staff and owner are genuinely friendly and the food very good , it was my nieces birthday and we mentioned it at the end of the meal , the next minute a gorgeous platter of cakes and fruit appeared ( not the token piece with a candle) it was a lovely touch . Cocktails are good too .. highly recommend ( oh and it’s dog friendly too) We’ll be back 🥰

Genuinely the best food I've ever had. Make sure to book a reservation, your time will be well spent here. I has the garlic bread and the beef and ragu pasta, with my wife having the chicken milanese. Both outstanding. Deliciously fresh and truly excellent value for money. Will be back as often as possible.

My husband and I came here after seeing it on instagram for our first dine out on our honeymoon. It is a small place , very cozy and the food is absolutely amazing! I have the chicken milanese and he had pappardelle beef ragu. The pasta is fresh made and everything is cooked to perfection. For desert we got the vanilla panna cotta with berry compot. Everything was delicious and we will be back as often as we come tk London.

Absolutely one of the finest meals I’ve had on any continent..fresh fresh fresh! Chateaubriand for 2? No steakhouse could do finer.

The food is food. This is my mom’s fav place. The one I do not like is the bathroom. It is so narrow! All in all it is clean.

We had an excellent evening at 40 Dean Street. The atmosphere was brilliant, the food superb and, although the waiters were up against it because it was so busy, the service was first class. Nothing was too much trouble.!!

Been here numerous times and highly recommend the lobster ravioli and mushroom gnocchi. It is slightly on the expensive side but dimmed, comfortable atmosphere is worth it. Around £30 per person including sharing one starter and dessert

My recent visit to Restart Forty Dean Street was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere was vibrant, the staff were attentive, and the food was simply divine.

Great service but the food was average and terrible value for money, it was £22 plus service for a pasta main course. The pasta was not cooked al dente.

Very disappointing. Came for my partner’s birthday. I had called and booked, making it explicit we had 2 small dogs and that we wanted a suitable table. I was assured that this was Soho’s most dog friendly restaurant. On arrival, we were given a cramped table directly next to the entrance and in the server’s causeway. There was no space for our dogs to sit and it was totally impractical. We then had to deal with an aggressive customer who said he hated dogs and verbally threatened me, saying there would be trouble if they got too close. The situation was quite chaotic and we decided to leave. The manager did offer us a free drink but the environment was completely unsuitable for dogs. And, honestly, the crowd was not suitable - you either have to deal with EDL skinheads angling for a fight in the street, or tourists grabbing to play and pet your dogs. Can’t comment on food as we didn’t have any. I’ve given 3 stars for the service because the manager was friendly and offered a free drink, but by that point it was too late. Conclusion: accepts dogs, but not dog friendly.

For us, it was a game of two halves. Whilst some dishes were tasty others were bland. Overall, we had an average experience.

Came to 40 Dean Street having seen them on Instagram - it did not disappoint! We were offered a complimentary glass of fizz as part of London food experience during June which was fun. Our starters were all delicious as were our main courses. I particularly enjoyed the lobster ravioli - rich and creamy. We were celebrating a special occasion and were given a complimentary dessert which was not only a lovely touch but delicious too. Would definitely recommend this restaurant. The prices were reasonable for the service, ambience and quality of food.

Favourite restaurant in the whole of London. I started going around 6 years ago when I got a dog and found it tricky to find places that were pet friendly. I've never had a bad meal here, the complete opposite. None of my friends have had a bad meal here either. 9 out of 10 times, the staff have been actively kind and inviting, the rare time I've had someone be a bit sullen, it's come as a surprise. The decor is beautiful - a bit old school, Italian charm. The owner is a really decent guy - knows his food and remembers every single dog who comes in. Based on my own experiences (I must have come here about a hundred times) I'm genuinely surprised this place doesn't have a higher rating. I've come here for my birthdays, occasion meals, brought friends and colleagues and not once have I had an even slightly negative experience. If you're not a very social person or don't like conversing with strangers - this probably isn't the restaurant for you. Whenever I have gone, there is a very easy, friendly flow of conversation with the tables around you. It's almost like you're not in London. I personally quite like it. They serve little bowls of chicken for your dog - mine is obsessed. We have to get a table where he can directly monitor the dumbwaiter, on chicken alert. However much I love this restaurant, my dog George LOOOOOOOVVEEES this restaurant. When we start walking towards Soho area, he's full steam ahead, powered by the knowledge that his fancy chicken awaits.

A lovely restaurant, we will definitely return. The food and service were exceptional. The tables are close together which I don't think is a problem unless you're sitting next to someone very loud. We were but didn't let it spoil the evening.

Fried courgette flower filled with ricotta was 5/5 but lobster ravioli for £29.50 was not worth it at all unfortunately, the sauce was tasty but the pasta itself was a bit bland. We paid £110 for lunch of 2 people including a bottle of wine but no desserts. I am not sure if we'd be back. No issues with the service & atmosphere.

Visited here with a friend whilst in London. The place was dead when we arrived, maybe 2 tables, and they asked if we had a reservation which we didn't. They then needed a few minutes to check (fine) then ushered us over/Beaconing using their hand like a referee would do for football. We were sat and then everything just went slow service wise, tables got bread upon seating but ours didn't. The food was okay, nothing outstanding. When we finished we tried to get the attention of the waiter discreetly with eye contact, body language etc, everything to try and get them to come to give us a bill, but basically ignored. (The waiter had a black shirt and neck tattoo if that helps identify the staff member) Eventually they came over to the table next to us to give them the bill and card reader, it's at this point I managed to ask for the bill (as he started to walk off) Another 10 minutes passed, he was busy serving other tables, getting drinks etc etc I asked him again and he looked as if I was asking for some special request. Honestly the food was good and the service from the female waitress who brought the wine over was great, but this guy was either having a bad day or needs some training.

Came here pre-show with friends for dinner. Service was friendly and attentive. Each of our meals were delicious. We had pappardelle, gnocchi, prawns, and chicken. It’s a small place so making a reservation is probably a good idea.

Amazing lunch, restaurant is quite small and was busy. Starters were epic and fresh and my main of seafood linguine was really tasty and packed full of fish. Washed down with Gavi !

Really lovely, fresh and tasty Italian food. I had the lobster ravioli and stuffed aubergine flower. The interior is super cute and it’s in a fun little area of soho. My only issue is that the service was really quite slow and took nearly 3 hours for dinner despite it not being very busy.

Came here for valentines day had an amazing time really blew me away with the service and how high quality the food was. Nothing felt overly priced which is a nice change with how tight things are at the moment

Thursday Evening 7th March Our server was Prince, who was absolutely amazing! All the staff are great, however Prince stood out the most. The food was also amazing - by far the best Italian I have been to in years!

After a bit of research for a dog friendly restaurant we settled on 40 Dean Street. So glad it took so long to find such a restaurant. What a fantastic meal. Two excellent starters in the bruschetta and mussels. The mains though were outstanding. We had a seafood linguine and the lobster linguine is the best I’ve ever had. Rounded off with a pistachio tiramisu and a salted caramel cheesecake. Washed down with a delicious bottle of valpolicella. And they looked after our dog too! Perfect and highly recommended.

Valentines early evening dinner, food quality was very good, particularly the lobster ravioli, reasonable choice of wines, service was good. Only downside it is a small restaurant and the tables are very close together, so expect to either listen to or join others conversations.

Always love coming here. It's usually just the two of us but this time we were a party of six. Staff are always lovely and the food spectacular. Location is brilliant for the centre of Soho. But do book well ahead as it does book up quickly.
