Came here for a drink and some food and it was amazing. Best burger on brighton sea front. Head chef Stevie delivered it to us and clearly is a very talented man because that burger was sensational. Do yourself a favour and come here

It's a nice atmosphere for a few drinks in the evening in Brighton beach. Djs, bands, ... Depends on the day. I love this place

My favourite go to place in Brighton - opposite the sea front. Visited Brighton for the weekend with three friends and we had an absolute scream! The atmosphere here on a Friday night is electric, not moody, very cheerful. I cannot wait to return to Brighton and head here again. Fab place!

yesterday 11/8/24 we spent lots of money at the place just to be then treated like cacca by the security guard. We didn't want to sit in the pub, we were getting the beers from this place all day and drinking on the beach. When tried to use the toilet later that day, at around 22, the security guard prevent me from entering the pub, when tried to explain why I was trying to go to the toilet, he just started screaming at me while coming very close in my face, like some cheap thug. He was unnecessary aggressive to me, but not my boyfriend, due to obvious cowardly behaviour. Also, who prevent a woman from using the toilet? A savage! We love Brighton and will be back next Saturday and Sunday, but wont be back to this location, as at 40 years I like to spend my money where I am treated with respect and dignity. if kindness is there too, that's a very well appreciated extra. Thank you for ruining our evening over a toilet.

Just is and has always been the best pub in Brighton for chilling in the late afternoon sun (summer or winter) with pint or two. Delighted my son had his 21st birthday there exactly 39 years after I celebrated mine in the same venue!

This place is an absolute vibe, especially on a sunny day there is no better place to be. Good drinks, quick staff and great music. I really enjoyed their live open jam night and had a great time at pride. Shame there aren't many toilets as it is a nightmare when it's busy, especially the girls but other than that don't miss it!

Door man told me to “stop wasting his time” when I asked if I could pop in to use the toilet when I have a bladder problem.

Incredible pub on the seafront, amazing sunny patio with the most incredible views, a band played when we were there and everyone was up dancing! We will definitely be back!

Excellet burgers. Never eaten better before. Tender jucy beef, well-selected veg and spongy bun seasoned with sesame and... poppy seeds. Yummy! I can truelly recommend.

Excellent bar down Brighton seafront, not far from the town centre. Seated area with tables outside and has an upstairs balcony area which faces onto the sea. Friendly staff and has a relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly.

As a local, I’ve been coming to fortune for years as it’s the perfect place for summer beach times. Today found out they’ve started doing these burgers which are absolutely amazing! Really convenient not having to leave the sea front without sacrificing quality of food or service

Great bar have been coming for years and always loved it! Heard they had a new kitchen and tried the Brighton Beach Burger and wasn’t disappointed. Juicy and filling!! Would recommend!

I Visited fortune of War many times for drinks and recently for new food menu too. I had their wagyu burger which i had never tried before, And it was so worth it! The offer is realy creative for both people who would like more standard or exotic flavours. But today I got a chance to try something new -The Breakfast Burger. It was what you expect from english breakfast but in completely different form! It was creamy and crispy and closed in spongy ban. This option and all the others I can definitely recommend to everyone. Definitely I will be back soon ! Thanks to bar staff for nice cooling drinks in this sunny weather.

Fortune of war is my go to place on Brighton beach, lovely selection of beers with amazing service. Burger was delicious aswell, perfectly cooked meat and the bun was fresh. Thanks fortune 🙏🏼

Never really had food here and not really sure if they do food. But this one of the BEST sea front venues along the brighton sea front. Excelent atmospher durning the summer months, great vibe all day long. Recomened in the hight of the season

A more decent mobbed busy seaside bar. Always a good atmosphere. Service like today can be a bit chaotic, you wait patiently for a while to be served and some muppet just walks up to the bar and is served immediately. Still nice place for a drink or 2 and a great spot for the sun

My review should probably be read in the context of it being a sunny bank holiday Saturday.. but thought this was all a bit chaotic and the worst side of brits at the beach. Beer expensive, though I can live with that for the location, can be difficult to get a seat. Chocablock with stag dos that, by 6pm on a Saturday, had progressed from charming to lairy - a fight broke out at the entrance and think the security could have been more proactive to maintain a safe atmosphere. If you’ve got this far, may be a case of being more about my expectations than the venue, though I suspect I would have found better options locally if I’d had chance to sample more.

Went down to Fortune of War this afternoon with some mates, and after a few beers In the sun I was pleasantly surprised to find out they've started doing burgers!! Had myself the 'itallian day at the beach' which was a delicious marriage between pizza and burger - with Napoli sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella 🤌 shared some fries that came with some marvelous home made sauces on the side. 10/10 will be back again.

The food here was absolutely spectacular - the service was really quick and we even had a chat with the chef Stevie who was lovely. I had the Brighton Beach burger which had a really nice garlic sauce, pickles and lettuce. Fantastic food and a great location looking into the beach, this will be one of my frequent spots down at the seafront. Highly recommend.

I loved this place! Like an old ship inside, Cute wood windows that look upstairs to the sea. The heat of the sun basking through on a wild windy afternoon. A guy called Lawrence was friendly that was working that day, had time to chat, which was lovely for me. Also got some super cool things to look at regarding the sea! The pizza was nice and was a busy with people.

every time i come here i always enjoy my time and the vibes, the only thing i will say is sometimes the toilets can be really gross however apart from that this is my favourite place to drink at the beach

The pub location is perfect! Just on the beach, that’s the only good thing about it. But the price for 2 pints of Mango Ale cost £13.50. I think personally that’s pricey!

I love this bar, my daughter has lived in Brighton for a number of years, this is a super friendly place with great music. More importantly as a person who generally only drinks coffee, l love to sit and people watch whilst waiting for my daughter. In fact, I travel down from London early so I can spend a couple of hours there chillin' on my own. My daughter and her partner loves it too, so sometimes we are there drinking coffee ,beers and occasionally a pizza until it's time to get my train home. All l can say is, keep doing what you are already doing so well!!

Great location...on a sunny day top notch!

A good day can be had here when the weather is right and when the outside tables are there too, a good amount of food and drink options here and best time to come is early in the afternoon for lunches or other things. Would come back here on another trip in this location when needed as well.

We saw a guy in a striped shirt punch two guys and the bouncer refuse to kick him out - I said I felt unsafe and the bouncer said I could leave

Member of staff at the outside bar was a bit off, when I asked for a Coldharbour Lager (the correct name!), she said 'D'you mean Brixton?'. I didn't mean Brixton, no, because that's the name of the brewery. Then asked if I wanted ice in it... ice in lager???
