Fortune inn in County Durham

Went for my partner's birthday meal and the food and service was fast and amazing. The waiter especially did a wonderful job, was incredibly polite and helpful but not intrusive. Heavily recommend the honey and chilli chicken, which I will definitely return to have again. Other than the food, I found the toilets were the cleanest and nicest smelling I've ever seen in a restaurant.

The food is AMAZING!! It'd be difficult to find somewhere better close by. Staff are attentive and go above and beyond. Will definitely be back soon and definitely recommend you giving this place a try.

Nothing wrong with the food but if you think you can charge SIX POUNDS to deliver.... I'd love to know what these people are smoking

First time takeaway from the Fortune Inn and it was fantastic. I’m gluten intolerant and the staff were really helpful with my needs. I had King Prawn in ginger and spring onions, plenty of massive tasty prawns and all other ingredients really fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely be back.

Just had sunday lunch 2 course, menu, lots of choice....but food ,service was the best weve had ever!! So 2nite we tried takaway(cba valentines out ripoff) was a gr8 meal, got loadz left. Will freeze in a bit& have nxt wk

Salt and pepper chips, best I've ever had. Chinese chicken curry, tasted like porridge. Had no taste whatsoever.

Always ordered from here since it opened and been satisfied until tonight. Delivery came an hour and 15 mins early so was sent back, when it arrived at 6, 05 i asked if it had been warmed up and delivery driver assured me it was re cooked fresh. Well all i can say it was disgusting and am sure it was the original order warmed up. Beef was tough and peking sauce was very different with horrible pineapple in it and cold. Will not be returning to this take away again, after all this time, i am very disappointed with our food tonight.

I asked chow mein with sauce, was given without sauce. Asked prawns with cashew nuts and was given a completely different chicken and prawn curry. Not only the wrong food but also Absolutely tasteless

Normally go here all the time but never again now. Phoned in to order, got my order confused and when I went to correct him started getting a real attitude then hung up on me, awful customer service

Meals here at first were fantastic and really everything felt freshly cooked but sauces have become very gloopy sadly not as enjoyable so have not been back

First time trying here tonight 2 adults and 2 kids ,, sat inside and the staff were lovley and food was best chinesse we’ve had yet,, really recommend nice and clean inside too x

Recently discovered Fortune Inn, had two lovely takeaway meals upto now, both lovely, quick service, unbelievably large portion sizes, and prices are very reasonable.

Called for food for delivery. The phone cut out at the end of the order bo joke when I say this but 300 calls later still going to answering machine food not delivered absolutely fuming and disgusting customer service big fat zero for this restaurant

Sadly ordered food from here . But never again . The main part of the meals did not turn up being the rice . Part of a set meal so pretty bad to miss that off . Not only did they send it without the rice and couldn't get the rice to me for another twenty mins even though I was told ten . But even the rest of the food came look warm in the first place not happy customer and will never be back. The poor women on the phone must have a hard job having to sort out the mistakes made by the rest of the team

Food came on time but some of order missing rang up then sent out what was missing but by then food was stone cold

First time ordering a takeaway and not disappointed, spicy curry with quality chicken not the normal mis shaped flat chicken you get from 90% chinese takeaways, will be booking a table to dine in. My only negative is delivery to shildon quite pricey at £6.50

Most of their food has been decent but the curry sauce is quite generic, the prices is the biggest downfall. A lot of stuff costs more than many places and that doesn't include any side (chips, rice, etc.)

Shredded chilli chicken every bite was like Chewing gristle omlette was nice rice was aslo good need abit more egg tho and you owe me a free bag of chips as mine was missing lastnight. 😋

Amazing takeaway service! Food is delicious! Fast delivery and food is piping hot. Found our regular Chinese takeaway.

The restaurant is unassuming from the outside, inside it and looks newly furnished. The food was delicious with great flavours. I had the Crispy Aromatic Duck with Pancakes to start, followed by Chicken in Honey Chilli Sauce, with a side of egg fried rice and salt & pepper chips - all dishes were hot and tasty, and I’d recommend them all. The service was good, albeit a little slow, with one dish being incorrect, though they were quick to rectify this. It was also challenging to get waiters’ attention for the bill when the meal was over. Overall a great experience and I would visit again.

Very bad service Needs to hire all the old staff Who have more experience I would not recommend this to anyone not enclosure family and friends.

Set meal for two delish, and enough to feed four people. Very friendly.

Bang on, really nice food, great to sit in with very friendly and attentive staff looking after you. Only thing missing was a pillow because i needed a nap after I'd finished. Will be back

I don't really do Asian food, but I do like chips, and curry, and salt, and pepper. And this has to be the best I've ever had, I even ate a little bit of pepper, carrot, rice, and I never do, it was just that good. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, which one was a tomato based dish, the other a curry, one with boiled rice, one with fried. The result was classing this as currently the best, by far, Chinese restaurant / takeaway in the area. The decor was amazing, makes me want curtains like theirs in my house.

Food was just OK. Plates were cold but food was hot just putting it on a cold plate was not ideal. Finished our meal no one came to ask if we would like more drinks or to see a desert menu. Even though waitress were stood chatting 6ft away from our table.Sign on bar said cash only but this is wrong as they do have card payment facilities. Tables were cleaned well and very quickly when vacated. Don't think I will be rushing back.

Tasteless. Drove past the place and was super pleased to see a new chinese place in Spennymoor. I always go to the Dragon City but they have been away for Chinese new year so I have been crying for a chinese takeaway. Our son drove up just after 5pm on a Sunday, I had stewing steak in the slow cooker but after 6 hours it was still chewy so I made the decision to try this new place. Sorry to say it was tasteless. I did eat most of it purely as I was starving hungry. We got chow mein, salt n pepper chicken some chips, curry sauces and BBQ ribs. It was just tasteless, cooked well enough just tasteless. Completely bland and slightly watery. I will not be going back which is a shame as when I drove past it I thought it is somewhere I could go with my Wife. My main question is, do real Chinese people own and cook the food? Never had such bland food before from a Chinese and slightly surprised to be honest, or would be surprised if Chinese folks cook the food.

Food was amazing. But it was to busy. They missed a meal off our order we got nothing for free even though we spent over 200 in the restaurant. People waiting for delivery's where stood over us looking at the table all the time. Waiters weren't very good. Very overpriced for the portion we got. I wouldn't be going back.

Brilliant Took my family out for a treat early doors in the restaurant tonight instead of using the takeaway Fab food as usual

Lovely food. Tasty, excellent quality. The chicken sweet and sour was possibly the best I have ever had. Definitely looking forwards to going back. The one bad review did concern me slightly, but we found everything super. Looking at his previous nasty reviews about other places I suspect it was more about him than anything else. Some people just seem to get off on being spiteful.

We have had 3 meals there with friends and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Also had take aways and find the food brilliant. Will visit again in the New Year. Eric

If they serve food the same as they send out for delivery!!! Well just don't bother!!! Go elsewhere as it's GARBAGE!!!! Hard meat, curry might aswell be outta Iceland Bork!!!!

Enjoyed our visit, service was great. Although it was cooked well the satay was not to my taste but I do emphasize there was nothing wrong with the cooking.

Excellent establish, often just call in for a quiet pint and a read. I had my Birthday dinner there, and they came out with a free birthday cake and candles singing for me. Very touched. And the food is devine and exceptionally priced.

Absolutely beautiful food and amazing staff who went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic night. We'll definitely be going back.
