Fortune Cookie in Kirklees

Ordered the chilli garlic special and unfortunately it had a really odd texture - very slimy and gloopy and it did not taste very good. The salt and pepper chips were lovely however as were the spring rolls.

Why is Kirklees council not investigating this takeaway? It stinks inside like rats. I'm sure something is wrong. Anyone else experienced that rats and mice smell?

I must say food has really stepped up, delivery was at a decent time too, wings and chips have improved and i also ordered the beef satay with noodles and rice wow I must say I really enjoyed it this time. Well done have seen improvements.

Not as good as the original fortune cookie in Leeds Hyde park. If you really want salt and pepper chips with wings then go there. No seating, you’ll have to eat in the car. For your wings salt and pepper chips, ask for a pizza box 😉

Ribs with 99% fat and hardly any meat, the sweet and sour sauce was watered down and probably the left over chicken which didn't taste like a Chinese should, extremely disappointing

My usual Chinese takeaway was shut and I hadn't read these reviews before ordering. Unfortunately, most of the food wasn't up to standard. The chow mein was overcooked and very dry, the chips were undercooked and soggy, and the prawn toast was flat and oily. However, the salt and pepper spring rolls, lamb ribs and chicken wings were enjoyed by another. I wouldn't order again, but they might.

The food was absolutely terrible! I could taste the dirty pan in the noodles. The sweet and sour chicken tasted off, i really hope i dont get food poisoning. It was inedible and taated dirty. The shop was very unclean i should have known better. NEVER AGAIN

Ordered salt and pepper chips with praws, they gave 2 small prawns with the chips in a big box, also asked for it to be extra spicy and there was no spice at all. The chips were just like normal fried chips hardly any seasoning considering theyre supposed to be salt and pepper chips. Dont order from here not worth it at all.

Ordered through deliveroo. Expected half crispy duck. Sent scraps, no cucumber or shredded onions. Wasn’t even half duck. Asked for refund from deliveroo and they refused. DO NOT ORDER

Came here after a few years, unfortunately the food isn't as nice as it used to be. Service was excellent but food wasn't up to standard. I remember the food being fresh; soft and fluffy chips, fresh wings, loaded onion and peppers, no sauce was really needed - it would go down. Now it's the opposite; dry hard chips, wings probably been sat there since opening time, out of a whole box of salt and pepper I found a tiny 1 inch shred of red pepper as the rest was just onions and chilli flakes. Needed a lot of sauce to get the chips down. Wouldn't recommend unless you're into noodles or something.

Absolutely disgusting and an absolute rip off! We ordered 1x sweet sour crispy beef 3x king prawn salt and pepper 1x salt and pepper chips All this came to £33.80 There were approximately 5 prawns in each box and all chips. The cheap frozen chips you get from a frozen supermarket supplier In fact there were enough chips in the boxes to feed all dewsbury, day light rip off. If I was still in dewsbury I would have gone Bach and humiliated them for what they provided. Fair to say it’s the worse pathetic food I’ve ever had from a takeaway. Do yourselves a favour and please go else where!

Sticking a bit of unflavoured chicken breast, obviously cooked separately, and shoving overly salted noodles on top is a disgrace quite honestly for chicken chow mein. Even though I didn’t pay myself, what a waste of money!!! You’re supposed to be able to cook aren’t you? If I could give minus five I would so forget any further orders.

I've always been ordered and loved their food. Now I'm not going to order from there anymore. Is been couple times I ordered the food and very disappointing. I don't know if they changed the chef but their food isn't same as before. It's awful and no worth of money. They always out of stock of ingredients and mess up of orders, very bad service. Shame really

Offered a mild vegetable Chow Mein, was given a hot Chow Mein with a lot of chili flakes and didn't offer to cook another portion or a refund. Avoid at all costs. They do not care about customer service. You would assume a mild is mild rather than packed full of chili flakes as seen in the below photo.

The best out of all the Fortune Cookies by far there curry sauce is the best, beats the Bradford f/c for sure

Food came freezing cold, when asked for help on call got told no. Over all experience was bad.

Operator lied. Waited for an hour. Then when i called, operator said, driver is out with the order, should be with you in 15 mins. Called bakc 30 mins later, only to overhear the workers, the order was not even made. Ridiculous.

Second time iv ordered and they have taken my order on just eat, cancelled the order an hour later and made it a pain getting the money back.

Literally doesn't make a difference what these guys do they always manage to get something wrong, and that's if you manage to actually get them to accept an order. Today I ordered for 6.30 delivery as that is when we will be eating, they have instead decided to send it an hour early, so now when we come to it's going to be lovely and cold. 3/5 time I place an order they straight up decline it despite living 5 minutes away, and usually comes half an hour to hour late everytime

Absolutely disgusting spring rolls was some kind of curry .spring rolls have bean sprouts , same with chop suey no bean sprouts big pieces of garlic green peppers frozen chicken pasty slimy sauce avoid worsed Chinese iv every tasted i would go to say who ever cooked the sloppy mess as never seen china

It's says open on Google. No one answering phone. Ordered on your website. Picked what i wanted, signed in (yorfoodie) , made a payment. And then order cancelled. No reply. My money taken out of my account. Refund to a wallet which I don't use. So refund to my account 3-5 working days. Out of pocket and no food. Disgrace. If you are closed, just update your opening hours and let the website know. Waste of time.

Ordered 2 chips asked one mild and one hot, and asked for extra veg, I received both hot and not extra veg and portions were tiny compared to what they usually do, rang up and the guy couldn’t really care less and did nothing to set it right, don’t waste your money here !

Delicious food from Fortune Cookie, I had some starters and mains and all were piping hot and were absolutely delicious, the mix starter is excellent and the Kung Po was a delight, order from here again definitely

Ordered 2 lots of Chicken Chow Mein and a portion of chips, best was the chips. The Chow Mein was dry and tasteless. Cheap in comparison to others but not worth it.

Ordered One starter at 10.50pm, rang them an hour later at 11.50 to ask how long, the guy was trying to tell me we only ordered at 11.30 however our call logs proved otherwise. He then said another 20 minutes. Long behold after 20 minutes food still hadn’t arrived & they was ignoring calls as line just kept ringing out. The food arrived 2 HOURS LATER bang on before their closing time. To top it off food was cold! Never again pals, there isn’t anything fortunate about this place at all

Disgusting food! Late Aswell! Do not order from here. Don’t waste your money like I did. Look at the pictures. Sauce is like water and the crispy noodle dish is dry and has 0 sauce. I regret not looking at the reviews. I love my Chinese but this has to be by far the worst I've ever had. The sweet and sour Cantonese chicken sauce was bright red, the green peppers and onions where stained this colour so the whole contents in the tub was just this hidious red colour. The noodles with bean shoots were void of any taste. Crispy noodles?..well open a packet of supernoodles and eat without cooking...would be a good comparison. £22??? For very poor egg fried rice as the rest wasn't edible.

this place is usally my go to but last 2 times its been slightly off, food was nice but came luke-warm / cold, we had pre ordered during the day to then have to wait till just before 6pm even though just eat says it delivered from 4.25pm. and to top it off the prawn crackers were not with the order even though i had paid for them, Ill admit its usually a good place but tonight it just really wasnt

Absolutely shocking food!! This place used to be alright but it is definitely 1 of the worst places to eat now!!! Chips were either fried in very dirty oil or were re-fried. Tables and chairs were shockingly filthy!!! Never will I ever eat from here again!!!

Brilliant Spicy Starters When Fresh!!

Everytime it speaks 5 minutes and takes 25 minutes it takes a lot of time

2 hour waiting time and then didn't answer the phone! The delivery driver then arrived with a attitude cos we complained about the waiting time think there bang out of order to be honest

Food is absolutely delicious and excellent quality. It is not greasy and slimy food like other Chinese takeaways in the area. On top of that all the food is reasonably priced. By far the best Chinese takeaway in West Yorkshire!

Food was pretty average , the Leeds town one is a lot better. Ordered over £100 of food from them today and asked for some sauces which they asked to be paid for. How tight is that and ridiculous £100 order and they can't give £2-£3 of sauces. Won't come here again and will be telling everyone about this experience.
