Mala calidad de la comida, no conocen la verdadera cocina italiana, mezclada con lingüina con espagueti. No sé qué es una focaccia. Ingrediente de pizza de calidad mediocre.

Mi novio y yo visitamos por NYE anoche. El ambiente y la sensación general del restaurante es encantador y como otras críticas han mencionado, hay una encantadora característica de patio en la parte delantera. Nuestra experiencia en general fue encantadora y aunque me sorprendió ver tan malas críticas después de nuestra visita, puedo ver algunos elementos del mal servicio. Llegamos y nos sentamos en la mesa que habíamos reservado y estábamos sentados sin problema. Tuvimos una ligera espera antes de que alguien viniera, pero esto se esperaba debido al NO. Cuando el camarero vino pidió una orden de comida, así que pedimos pedir bebidas también y se disculpó porque nadie ha tomado nuestra orden de bebidas. Después de esto, la comida y las bebidas llegaron extremadamente rápido, que era encantador! Y no se sentía apresurado. La comida era preciosa! Tenemos pan de ajo con tomate, raviolis y lingüina verde. ¡No podía faltar la comida en absoluto era encantador! Luego esperamos un poco para que alguien viniera con la factura y luego de nuevo para la máquina de tarjetas, pero no me importó, ya que estaba ocupado para NYE. En general, una experiencia encantadora y sin duda volvería. Todo el personal era muy amable y como digo, el servicio fue bastante rápido con comida deliciosa!

Nos decidimos por el menú temprano como nuestra elección de principal era parte del 'trato'. La comida era promedio, servida por mano de obra barata sin experiencia, sin embargo, no había nada barato en la factura final debido a la 'letra pequeña' en el menú temprano y bebidas caras... . La única gracia salvadora fue el buen ambiente y la gran compañía.

La moderación estaba visiblemente muy ocupada. Nos hicieron saber que puede haber una espera en la comida. Entendible. El servicio fue el mejor que he tenido. Finlay nuestro servidor durante la mayor parte de la noche era impecable. Un activo absoluto para el negocio. La comida era perfecta. Recomendaría 100% y estará regresando

ATROZ - ¡EVITA! Mesa reservada para 4 personas, 8 pm, sábado por la noche. Confirmación por correo electrónico recibida. Llegué para ser informado de que no había mesas, ya que habían tenido demasiados walk ins! Dijo que la gente tampoco había desalojado sus mesas. Cuando pregunté por qué no nos habían contactado por teléfono o correo electrónico, me dijeron, lo siento. Claramente no les molestó cuando dije que dejaría una mala crítica y la señora se encogió de hombros. ¡Nos ofreció un vale! No lo pienses, ya que no volverá. Otros comensales detrás de nosotros también fueron rechazados. Necesito aprender algunas habilidades de servicio al cliente y al negocio. Absolutamente impactante.

Llevé a mi familia, grupo de 8 , hijos y nietos en una tarde de sábado ocupada y me impresionó claramente. Todos disfrutamos mucho de nuestras comidas, el personal era muy bueno, trabajador y entusiasta, precios muy razonables y el ambiente era genial. Las pizzas eran bastante excelentes y sobre la base de esta visita recomendaría encarecidamente este restaurante y debo confesar que estoy asombrado de que las críticas de algunas otras personas son quizás, menos favorables. Existe un cargo automático del 10 % por servicio y no estoy en general a favor de tales cargos, pero en este caso estaba más que feliz de pagarlo y de hecho lo dije a nuestra camarera. Sin duda haría una visita de regreso cuando en Gosforth de nuevo.

He estado aquí un par de veces y siempre ha sido bueno, pero esta vez no tan bueno. Bastante mediocre. El servicio fue bueno por el joven negro cuyo tercer turno así que lo hizo bien. Yes I should have paid attention to the other reviews. It’s such a shame as the restaurant decor is lovely and it has a nice courtyard area. Started well with a couple of nice cocktails and order taken quickly. However after 45mins tried to serve our mains (both pizzas) when the starters hadn’t even arrived. Took them back and 15mins later finally served the starters (bruschetta and calamari). Both ok but not fantastic. Pizzas arrived again and they were very dry. Suspect they were the same pizzas keep warm under hot lights. Overall disappointing.

Service was very poor. Took 15 minutes for our drinks order. We ordered starters and mains, no one checked back on our food at any point. Food was good. We were full of our mains and it took 40 minutes for them to be cleared even after putting napkins on to plates. Then had to chase down for the bill. They brought the card machine with the bill too which doesn’t give us any time at all to organise who is paying the bill. Server was not young either so can’t put down tk being young or inexperienced. Such a shame as the food was lovely. Some serious training is needed i think.

I’d been wanting to try this place for a long time because it looks really nice. Unfortunately the reality didn’t match the expectation. We were one of the first parties in and yet it took them about 40 minutes to take our drinks order, which they then proceeded to lose. The food was nice, we had a pepperoni and a díavola pizza, a carbonara and a chicken Milanese. We ordered a second round of drinks with the meal and although I clearly and deliberately stated to the waiter twice which flavour of J2O we wanted (because it wasn’t the same flavour as the first) he brought the wrong flavour. They obviously don’t listen. Or give a monkey’s. I notice they also add a 10% service charge which is pretty brazen given the utter lack of it. Won’t be going back.

absolutely disgusting service, waiter slapped down glasses cutlery and knocked table every time he went by, they forgot the main menu and blamed it on the large table they were serving. avoid this restaurant at all cost, absolutely disgusting

Left without food for over a hour and a half. When we asked the staff why we are waiting we were told that they were serving the bigger table first even though we were in and had starters delivered before them. Service was very poor ended up leaving food and walking out

Service not great felt more like being in a fast food cafe than a restaurant. Staff came across stressed and witnessed a disagreement between a waiter and the pizza chef. Had better Calamari from Lidl, the prawn starter batter was underdone but the prawns were nice. The main a pizza and seafood pasta was good however the pasta portion was small. Also non optional £6 service charge. Very average and probably a lot better locally.

Overall very disappointing food, tasteless pasta and mushroom starter had horrible aftertaste. One of party had pizza, but not a lot you can do wrong wit that. Very quiet and no atmosphere

What a waste of our time! We got there at 1pm and both ordered a pescatore pizza which was overpriced for what it was! It was not much tastier than an M&S one, considering their pizzas are supposedly homemade. Although the younger staff were kind and polite, the older Italian ones were rude and they were making innuendos all the time - very offputting. They were also very unhelpful and seemed p* off when other customers were asking for some extra sauces for example.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere nice to eat in Gosforth and decided upon Fortuna. I booked ahead and asked them for a table in a quieter area as both me and my friend are hard of hearing and wear hearing aids. As we arrived we noticed how noisy it was and pointed out that we’d asked for a table in a quieter area (something they obviously hadn’t even bothered to read)! There were several booths free that we find work well for us as the sound bounces off the sides. I was told that we couldn’t have one of those as we were only a party of 2 and they were for 4 and that they were fully booked so we took a table nearer the kitchen. The young servers were very pleasant and we ordered a bottle of wine, an older man who I since learnt is called Antonio and seemed to be the boss came to take our order, we did pleasantly mention the problem we have in hearing in noisy venues, he asked if I’d like him to turn the music off to which I said, yes please, but it was obviously meant as a sarcastic remarks as then went on to say ‘and what about the other customers who want the music’ he did though turn it down which did make it slightly more bearable! I ordered steak and my friend salmon, my friends salmon arrived and also my steak but not my accompanying chips. I waited and waited but people were just passing me by. I eventually stopped Antonio and explained I didn’t have my chips, he went over and immediately brought them to me without any apology or explanation as to why I’d had to wait for the rest of my meal! My friend said her salmon was lovely, my steak was okay but the tone of the been set by the rudeness of Antonio. We asked a very pleasant young lady for our bill only to find they had added on a 10% service charge so we asked to have it removed! Because of that Antonio came over to ask what the problem was, he was obnoxious and rude when I pointed out the problems we’d encountered and mentioned that I’d had to wait for my accompanying chips so he said he’d take the cost of the chips off (which he did), no way did that make up for his rudeness. I also pointed out that the booth I had asked to sit in had not been occupied all evening but he chose to ignore me! If you’re thinking of giving this place a try then DON’T!!! Funnily enough we held my granddaughters christening at Miller & Carter in Gosforth, the next day, the food and service was outstanding - Fortuna go and visit and see what proper service is!!!!!

I was absolutely shocked to read other reviews here, I had to check it was the same restaurant that I visit regularly. Apparently it is, but I am really surprised at the reviews of others. I call into Fortuna on many Saturdays, often with my 4 year old daughter. We are always enthusiastically welcomed by the lovely staff - the Maitre D (whose name I shamefully don't know) is superb, and my daughter loves that he welcomes her with "ciao bella". My daughter (with many other children) loves watching the pizzas being made, and the guy who makes the pizzas always waves and smiles. I will review here my most recent meal today, but every visit has been of the same high standard. My daughter loves the carbonara, she always has it and it's always perfect and absolutely to her taste. Today, I shared the frito misto and a salad with my fiancee. The food was superb, the fish in the frito misto was perfectly cooked - calamari are so easily over-cooked, but on every occasion it has been outstanding in Fortuna and today was no exception. The halloumi salad was also beautiful, a basil-based dressing compliments this salad really well. I can definitely recommend Fortuna, which is why I eat there so often.

The service was HORRENDOUS. Ordered 3 cocktails and 1 coffee. Took 45 minutes to arrive after chasing it up multiple times. The manager brought us the bill and said we needed to pay as they’d had ‘loads of runners’ recently. I’m not surprised they’ve had ‘runners’ as the service is so embarrassingly slow. She proceeded to blame the new guy in the bar as to why the drinks took so long. We paid and left and she came sprinting after us shouting ‘have yous paid’. Won’t be going back.

From the moment we arrived (late), we were welcomed and served by wonderful friendly staff. We had a lovely table in a bright and 'buzzing' area near the open pizza kitchen. Cocktails were fab and food excellent. I am coeliac and the risotto was perfect and my sister-in-law's pizza looked very tasty (which she confirmed it was). After our very tasty meal, the staff pointed us to a very friendly Sardinian gentleman who, as well as ordering us a very speedy taxi, introduced us to a Pizza Chef who had lived in Dumfries for many years (after we advised him we lived in Dumfries and Galloway). He walked us to our taxi (directly outside) and we were told by the taxi driver (who, was great) that he was in fact the owner :). We can't wait to return with our husbands as it was an experience we wish to have again in the near future. Well done all at Fortunas - we look forward to seeing you all again.

I booked for our anniversary as we had passed the restaurant several times and thought it looked good. When we arrived we were ignored standing at the door for 10 minutes before someone came over - We said we had made a reservation but were just ignored and the staff member disappeared to see if they had any free tables to ‘try and squeeze us in’. Drinks arrived relatively quickly and the food followed. Very average and while we were eating the staff were moving tables around very loudly and shouting at each other. We felt really rushed the whole time like they needed the table back even though my reservation said we had an hour and a half. We asked to takeaway some of the leftover pizza and when the waitress brought it in the box she put it right down in front of me on top of my open phone (We were looking up something on my phone and she didn’t give me the chance to move it) and just walked off. When we asked for the bill, after not being offered dessert menus, the person who was taking payment (Not sure if he was a manager or the owner) did not say anything and was giving us nasty looks - Not sure what we did to deserve this! I saw other people paying their bill getting little chocolates but we were not given anything (We didn’t care for the chocolate it was more the fact that they’d gone out of their way not to give it to us for some reason). Overall, this experience ruined our anniversary and we wish we’d chosen somewhere else where the service and food was better with friendlier staff!

We visited on a busy Saturday early evening and this place met all our expectations, friendly staff and delicious food with decent portion sizes 👍🏾 I had the calzone and asked them to spice it up, it had the right amount of kick to it.

What a load of rubbish, disgraceful value for money. We used to love Adrianos and regularly go to the Fortuna Cafe, so thought we'd give the restaurant a try. No early evening mid-week special? Thought that was why it was quiet. So, prices are high, okay product must be good. Nope - poor quality, no flavour and small portion. And that's why you're so quiet. Come on - go back to Adrianos quality please. We won't be visiting again until things change. And we really wish we'd read TripAdvisor before going this time round!

Booked this for my husband birthday last minute, They where very helpful when booking, Only when it was booked the price per head went up to original price which I felt a little robbed. The room hire is a little overpriced too considering the price you have to pay for food £25.00 per head for buffet is ridiculously priced.
