Forhans Original Indian Food in Sunderland

We come here weekly for our takeaway. Service is always great and food is top notch and restaurant standard. We have tried other Indians both takeaways and restaurants and we keep saying..can’t beat Forhans!

Curry's couldn't fault . However naan bread is no bigger than a saucer and absolutely tiny . For the price ???????????.?.?

What can I say never disappointed I order from here and evertime perfect very fresh and piping hot .over yrs I've tried nearly all insunderland and this I'm my view tops the lot .bit expensive to others but you get what you pay for

No lamb?? The food was good but, no better than countless other local Indians (or should I say Bangladeshi, as that’s what they actually are ). ...... How can any credible Indian food establishment not include lamb dishes ? Save your money and go to one of many other excellent takeaways in Sunderland. Rasoi, Mumbai Silk, Chilli Mangoes , Bengal Spice. To name but a few. And how is anyone supposed to be able to read one of those menus on Facebook, come on, that’s just poor.

Best Indian in Sunderland. We live out of Sunderland so have to pay extra delivery charge, but the food is really good. Highly recommend to everyone

After seeing many good comments about this place and speaking to the owner about the food I decided to give it a try. After being told the tikka chips and Sri Lanka curry were a must try i opted for these owners recommendations and I was not disappointed. The tikka chips were absolutely sensational and the Sri Lanka curry was a great change from my normal Madras, it was fragrant and tasty with a nice kick of spice. The Mrs had king prawn Madras and said the prawns were lovely, nice soft chunky chips and a couple of great starters. The staff were a pleasure to deal with and nothing was a problem for them. I Highly recommend this place so much so I'm waiting for my second order now.

Ordered for delivery from here on Saturday husband had chicken Sri Lanka and rice I had a chicken tikka wrap which was lovely but bit dry I should have ordered garlic dip well worth the price tho and didn’t wait too long for delivery

The best Indian cuisine in Sunderland. Food is always fantastic and delivered on time. Area for improvement would be to accept card payment but it's still excellent.

Don't hesitate to order your food here, always perfect, tastes amazing every time.ant understand negative reviews. Can't beat the place. Tikka masala to die for!

All crap was a total disgusting meal would not recomend this take away to any one going to phone for a refund ttotal waste of Money

Found the ultimate curry. Forhans chef special madras hot contains mixed meats really hot so not for the faint hearted. Mix the special curry with a portion of their madras sauce and it is perfection. Tarka dhall to accompany a pillau rice. Heaven.

1st class customer service, i had a bit of a wrong delivery previously and got a plain nan instead of garlic and they have offered me free popadoms on this occasion,the food is also absolutely fabulous, well worth the daily special and very value for money

Been using Forhans for takeaway for a few months now, bit late with a review but this place produces consistently superb food and delivery has always been quicker than anywhere we've used in the past. Don't bother going anywhere else, this place would get 6 Stars from me if I could! Always had awesome Indian food from Forhans, the chef is a genius!

Ordered from here last night I had garlic chicken which was big chunks of chicken breast absolutely beautiful hubby had mixed balti which was jam packed with meat and lovely flavour special on every night

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight for the first time, speedy delivery friendly staff. Food was really tasty they have a daily special with loads of choice. Portion size more than I could eat, but well worth it. My new takeaway taste much better than my old one.

Called here for a takeaway as we had been to panto 1st time I’d tried it and wasn’t disappointed I had chicken buns onion rice and a garlic naan also pakora for starter it was absolutely delicious chicken melted in my mouth will definitely be back

Love their food.chicken Korma the best I ever had,everything else was delicious too.no water separating on the plate like every other take away. Won't go anywhere else now we found this one.

So thought I’d give it a go as Zeba was Always quality but the way I was handled on the phone was shocking TWICE and the Couldn’t give toss attitude stinks. Needless to say I went to Ruchi’s hylton road for quality service and food. Rubbish customer service from the off, shame as it’s always been great

First time visit to Forhans and won't be the last! Beef madras was very tender not rubberised like a lot of other takeaways in this neck of the woods!! Enjoyed the sheek kebab not too spicy & the naan bread was great big enough to mop up the sauce and left over egg rice. Roll on next Saturday for a deal 2 daily special, as long as we can find our way from Washington again(3 miles) lol

Finally tried this place after hearing rave reviews from friends and I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

Very tasty Indian food, doesn’t take to long for a delivery fab staff, they also so do a daily special and it’s a very clean shop.

This place was recommended from another curry addict even though it is at the other end to where I live in Sunderland and so far out compared to the 20 takeaways at my immediate disposal. But it’s all about the taste never mind the extra few quid to get it delivered. Have to say the tikka chicken madras was excellent as was the keema pillau and Tarka

Ordered takeaway due to all the amazing reviews on the Sunderland foodies group on Facebook! Bit sceptical ordering from new places but so happy that we did! Amazing food arrived quickly and prices are brilliant! There’s lots of deals to suit everyone. Would definitely recommend. Only thing is I don’t think they are on just eat so it’s cash payment only and I very rarely have cash. Apart from that would definitely order from there again!!

Absolutely unbelievable food. From starters to mains... I literally can't explain how amazing this food is! The prawns in the masala you can tell straight away how they are marinated and then cooked to perfection. Favourite takeaway now for sure. I would recommend highly.

Forhans has now been established in Sunderland for just over a year and in that time it has built a justifiable reputation for quality Indian Cuisine ,everything you would expect to find in a whole list of Curries as well as meals rarely seen on a takeaway menu ,

We drive over from Washington to get our Indian meals so very good never been disappointed been 6 times now will not go anywhere else

Eaten in some great Indian restaurants in my time but this beats the lot! Recommended to a friend just back from India and now she goes 2 or 3 times a week. Something to suit every taste and the staff always friendly and helpful. Great value too

Had takeaway from here last night and it was delicious I had chicken korma and it had chunks of white chicken breast that melted in your mouth husband had rogan josh and he said it was very tasty by far the best in Sunderland

Fresh, amazing quality food with an amazing flavour and taste, definitely my favourite Indians. You won't go anywhere else after you have been here.

Absolutely amazing the haralli is amazing yes it’s bright green but it’s so good, the rice is lovely and chips well cooked very good value for what got, kids love their food so that was a bonus no idea what the husband went for but he said it was very tasty
