Food looked amazing Unfortunately it tasted of absolute nothing, i was surprised that you could actually get coleslaw so tasteless. Even the chips tasted of nothing.

Short 2 day break at Whitemead so we ate here on both evenings.First night we both chose the fish and chips which was pretty much what you expect at a Weatherspoons food was fine nice touch that the plates had been pre warmed which kept the food hot . Second night we both had the Foresters burger.Quick service as being out of season not many people there , burgers were tasty , prices not too bad would eat there again on our next visit though will also be checking out what the local pub has to offer food wise .

Stayed here and got takeaway for family of four, three pizzas and dirty fries. Waited 30mins as advised. Good service, food good. Only ate here once as lots of nice places locally to try.

While staying at Whitemead I decided just to grab a nice easier pizza from the foresters. Well I wish I hadn’t. It was tiny, the size of a child pizza in tesco. And I paid £11.50!!! Absolutely ridiculous! A couple of days later my family decided just to get a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast. While when they returned, one was missing the egg. How can u manage that. Continuing on had a pint myself there to enjoy the weather. Well, they defiantly need to train there staff. I asked for a lager top. The ladies idea of a top was making sure there was a head on the pint. Had to actually explain to the staff myself so they knew what they were serving. Further more on the first day here I saw there was a little booth outside with ice creams, milkshakes and hot drinks. Well I’ve tried to go a few times and stood there with no one inside but is clearly open with lights on and the windows open. I’ve waited and no one comes to serve, completely pointless having it there.

Southampton v Liverpool was advertised on the whitemead website. However another game was shown and despite pointing this out to the bar manager and showing him the website he wouldn’t turn it over the to premiership game! After explaining to him we would have gone elsewhere for our meal and drinks if we had known that the game would not be shown, he had no answer and wouldn’t turn the game on! Please do not advertise on your website football games you do not show! Very disappointed as a returning customer for many years. Whitemead:- Please do not advertise something you can’t deliver!1

Burgers looked pretty good but did not taste great, they were overcooked which didn't help. To be fair the chips were very good. It's convenient if you are onsite, it's a shame the quality isn't a bit better or we would have eaten there every night.

Some of our group chose the tapas options and three chose the burgers, which looked fantastic. We all had a lovely meal.

very handy if staying at Whitemead always able to sit down. No problem getting served. Self service on forks and knives etc and milk and sugar etc. Please make proper chips though not thin fries. Sausage at the breakfast was horrible. More butter needed with the breakfast toast only one sachet not enough. Two better.

Food and drink expensive, food not very good. Shame that the outside seating area had some flooding issues, especially as it had been completed recently

I’m surprised at the reviews here as we had a great breakfast on our last morning. Well set up for covid which does affect the atmosphere but staff fantastic. Everything was perfectly cooked and we all enjoyed it. We will try the main menu next time.

Well, where to start! Booked in for Christmas day lunch, having just moved to the area. We have eaten out on Christmas day, more or less every year for the past 20+ years. We paid £55 each for a 5 course meal, told to arrive around 12:30 to be served around 1pm. We arrived around 12:45, got a drink and sat waiting to be served. Things started ok, good atmosphere, everyone full of the christmas spirit and staff friendly. 1st course arrived, not bad. We then waited, along with everyone else, then waited some more, until we finally had our sorbet course, which was not that good! We then waited and waited, then waited some more until eventually, the main course arrived. My wife is vegetarian, so she had ordered the veggie option, which she couldn't understand from the menu as it was nothing like. My turkey choice, was to be blunt, a joke! When you choose to pay for a turkey Christmas lunch, you expect turkey to be carved from a turkey, not from a turkey roll joint and for there to be just 1 slice! The roast potatoes were over done and dry and the vegetables were not cooked properly. We ate the main course and waited some more. Eventually the sweet course began to arrive. An indication of how long everyone had been waiting at this stage, was the fact that some people had given up and started leaving. Either that or they didn't think much of the standard of the food! Sweet arrived and was ok, but then again, you can't really stuff up my cheese and biscuits! After this, a good many of the diners had left, but we carried on waiting for our coffees and mince pies. After asking repeatedly, I eventually noticed someone go up to the bar and pour their own coffee, so went and did the same, but it had to be in disposable cups! After asking again about the mince pies, eventually they turned up. We were at the venue for over 5 hours! We were supposed to be visiting family in the afternoon, but had to cancel because of the fiasco. I would have complained on the day, but chose not to, as we felt the staff were doing their best because we had been told that the head chef and sous chef had not turned up, which dropped everyone right in it. On Boxing day, I emailed whitemead, to voice our concerns and complain about the quality of the meals we had paid £55 each for. After almost a week, I had heard nothing back, so emailed Lauren again, asking her to acknowledge my complaint within 24 hours. Today, I still, have not even had a response. I will be going to see the manager of Whitemead and voicing my complaint to them directly as this was without doubt, by far, the worst Christmas day meal, we have ever had and I would NOT recommend the food here to anyone. The meal here was not worth £5-00 let alone the £55 each we paid and on top of that, to be ignored if you dare to put a complaint in! Not good Whitemead, not good at all!!!

A few of us booked a table for a christmas get together. The food I had was overpriced and what can only be described as VILE. I ordered an 8oz sirloin and asked for it to be medium rare. The cost of this is £17.50 and the menu said it came with chips, but for £17.50 I expected some peas, mushrooms and a tomato at the very least. What was served I would not feed my dog. A handfull of chips and a steak that was so overcooked it was difficult to cut through. The steak was not seasoned and I had to ask for tomato sauce to add a bit of moisture and taste to the meal. I would recommend that everybody avoids the restaurant and walk a few hundread yards down the road for a decent meal.
