Stumbled upon this coffee house on London Wall. Very good coffees and, although small, a great venue. Seating out side too

I enjoyed my breakfast at this lovely, homely, independent coffee shop. Really nice coffee and great almond croissant. Lots of character with cuttings on the wall. If you’re in the area then give this place a try and you won’t be disappointed.

The name may have changed but the identity of this City gem has not. Excellent coffee, unique environment, focus on quality not decor (I love the decor and some may call it quirky). The staff engage, they are real baristas and don't need a t shirt to prove it. Why oh why do people continue to buy large buckets of bad coffee in impersonal chains. Everything about this place is thoughtful and unpretentious and as such pure class. It's not trying to be something, it really is something. Thank you for being here.

I was looking for somewhere to get a coffee on London Wall as I was at a meeting in the Guildhall. I thought this place looked promising until I read the comments to other reviews from the owner. I can't believe a business owner could be so rude just because somebody didn't like their place, so now I'll go elsewhere.

Went for a coffee to be greeted by a miserable looking lady who asked - what do you want? After saying I was waiting for a colleague and taking a seat, told me they were closing at 2:45pm, that’s 3hrs before their published weekday closing time. Drank a terrible coffee, and lights off, tables cleared and shown the door at 2:45pm. I realise it’s been tough in Covid times, but please don’t take it out on your customers, after all they are your only source of income…

Fabulous coffee; great decor with little "jokes" on the walls. Just read the bad review (couldn't believe anyone would give it less than 5 stars) and wish I'd been there!! I couldn't stop smiling throughout my stay. Wonderful.

Just a perfect place. Great Coffee, served with a smile and a range of cakes and doughnuts which are properly made and delicious. But the pictures of all my comedy heroes on the wall are the real reason I visit. Legends like Terry Thomas, Blakey from On the Buses, Laurel and Hardy and Sid James adorn the walls.

First impressions were that this is a quaint place in the city of London holding out against the chain coffee shops that are nearby (when I first went a couple of years back). The thing is, they seem a bit defensive about this and almost treat their shop like a personal fiefdom, with an angry guard at the helm (is he the owner? The bouncer?) Anyway it’s one of those places you rarely go back to - nobody wants to have their 5 mins of freedom with a relaxing coffee while being watched or snapped at by the proprietor - he’s incredibly irascible and acts like his shop is a 3 star Michelin restaurant just because it won some little coffee award in 2014. Pleased to see there are loads more independent coffee places opening nearby which means this place has some healthy competition- let’s see how long they last with their awful customer service...

Coming from abroad to London several times a year, I always come to the Wild and Wood coffee shop for a delightful Monmouth coffee and some mouth-watering pastries in a cosy and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff is cheerful, discreet and delicate which makes you feel confortable. In this world of standardisation, in which nearly everybody is addicted to soulless junk coffee chains, this kind of place is a delight, a kind of "Twilight zone area" in which you can "shelter" and enjoy every moment. Thanks to the owners to have the courage of running such a nice place, it is surely a tough job but the result is a charm. FB

Coffee is superb - reason enough to make this a spot of choice. Atmosphere and set up is really cool, nice selection of treats and friendly staff. Kind of place you stumble across and want to keep secret but end up telling everyone about anyway because it was too good!

If you are a regular at any of the big chain coffee shops, but actually like good coffee, don’t go here if you can’t do it every time! You may never be able to go back to the chain variant! This is coffee how it should be, like fine wine, with texture, complex flavours and a lingering quality. I’m a big fan of independent coffee shops at any time and just occasionally you stumble across one that ticks all the boxes, environmentally, staffing , passion for coffee and most importantly quality of coffee and barista. Had a cake and that was also excellent, but the coffee was notably notable ! As other reviews state, they are not catering to the mass market, it’s small and they don’t do exotica like Decaf 🤔but what they do do they do very very well!

I work a few days a week in the building opposite and love to visit for a coffee and life changing cake whenever possible. Wild and Wood is a fabulous little cafe that has an Australian approach to coffee. No messing around with fancy multi syrup offerings - black or white, two types of milk. The end! It is unquestionably the best flat white in the city and if you can get a table - just enjoy being in a proper cafe that other people are enjoying too. I would describe it as being eminently instagramable but not for instagramers!! The people that work there are elephants with their memory – always remember the order despite serving hundreds of people a week. It’s a delight. Anyone that votes it down should probably just stick to Starbucks and they are most welcome to it.

OK coffee, nicely decorated. They didn't have decaf coffee and instead had lukewarm lattes and flat whites (tasted good but wasn't very hot?) Doughnuts looked nice but were quite stale. Service was quite unfriendly and they had passive aggressive signs about "don't sit here and only order tap water" presumably meant in a tongue-in-cheek way (obviously) we wouldn't do this but added to the overall unwelcoming feel.

I've been going to W&W for about 7 years now, since their old venue and I've visited them plenty of times. To me it's simply the best coffee shop in London: No BS coffees, just excellently extracted Monmouth coffee. I love the fact that everything on offer is fresh every day, all coffees are in a perfect temperature and the lack of fancy syrups or alternatives leaves the staff free to focus on making each cup perfect. I've tried their hot chocolate and it's also stunning: not too sweet, great temperature and warming. I have tasted the lunch offers as well and they are delicious. I love the decoration, at last a place with a personal touch that doesn't want to appeal to everyone. I've always liked the service, since their previous venue at TCR: friendly but not too personal, fast, efficient, professional. It's not the place to stay there or hours using your laptop or reading and that's fine, each place has its signature. Try the red velvet cake, the savoury croissants, the affogato and enjoy your food and drinks in vintage crockery and mismatched cup and saucer sets.
