Food Village in Luton

Not sure if it was our skin color but me and mom went after a long drive from Memphis we walked in there was a waiter at the front didn't greet or smile just said one moment then a smiling lady came towards us and seated us I'm assuming she was the manager anyhow Patricia was our server I ordered long island and water mom ordered sweet tea she brought out 2 waters only she asked if we need menus we said we was getting the bar she said help yourself we did and she never came bk to check on us but instead Continued CONSTANTLY checking on other tables that was a different race had to flag her down to tell her we were ready to pay she just looked and said hang on came bk after 4mins keep in mind they were not busy plenty of empty dirty tables the bar food was ok lettuce on cold bar was brown we basically wasted $49 for 2 good cups of water and a not strong long island never again

The food was good, but the staff did not know the soup of the day.

It was very busy when we came the last two mornings and appeared to be rather understaffed even so our server Erica went above and beyond and gave us excellent service , she had a great attitude and made sure we had everything we needed . We will definitely be back to see her .if you stop in definitely look for her you won't be disappointed.

If you want good service with a friendly smile go visit DEE she sets the tone and atmosphere the only reason we come is when Dee is available we need more people like her, most of the servers walk around on their phone but DEE makes every experience worth coming back......

All I can say is wow Dee is thus far the best server I've ever had hands down at any restaurant I've ever been to ..The she was very attentive and we never had to ask for one single thing , it was my wife's birthday and she definitely treated us with the best positive attitude our drinks never ran dry and her energy and positivity was perfect,I've been to this location a bunch of times but never have we been treated with such a friendly positive attitude,we will be back to see miss Dee, she made our experience the best we've ever had keep doing you miss Dee your angelic and it shows absolutely love her butterfly and ambitious tatts definitely a beautiful soul, the other servers could definitely use a pointeror 2 she loves what she does and it shows....we will be back again next week for the best hospitality thank you

DEE is AMAZING, so very helpful made us and our family feel right at home we usually don't come often the last couple times we have bad experiences with servers, but DEE made all the difference its nice when you go out for your birthday and someone like DEE made it such a memorial experience.....everyone ask for Dee you wont be disappointed

Food was a little bad today. Service was good and was clean inside.

Always been a shoneys fan since a child. I eat the slim Jim every time. And onion rings. Glad I can still experience this goodness.

Okay, I am aging myself. But, I was pleasantly surprised to see a full bar inside Shoney's now.

Hot fudge cake is a staple and it's as good today as it was when I was over 40 years ago.

Our server was not nice and had an attitude and my food cold not warm or hot. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!

My wife and I first went to a Shoney's in Myrtle Beach back in 2014 We raved about their breakfast buffet for 10 years always wishing we would be near one again. But we live in New Jersey and just don't have any near We visited Nashville 2 weeks ago and lucky enough a Shoney's was right across from our hotel. Love love love there breakfast buffet Non better From the best bacon, grits, eggs, French toast strips, cooked ham, fruit, salad Doesn't get better

Food was great service was terrible

Service was super slow. Took several minutes to be greeted at the door. Once seated it took 10 minutes for our waitress to come over to ask for our drink order then about 5 to get the drinks. We couldn't tell if she was just overwhelmed, new, or not very good. There weren't many people in the restaurant either. We got the buffet. Food looked old and dried out. Gravy had a thick film over it. Mashed potatoes were hard on top. Chicken dry. Salad bowls empty. We went at 6pm so it wasn't like they were close to closing either. We ordered the steak. Took 20 minutes for them to bring a medium rare steak out. Steak wasn't bad. We didn't even go for 2nds the buffet and food weren't good enough. We had to track down the waitress to get our check and pay. We will never return here and won't recommend it.

I loved how good the food is and how the food is ALWAYS changing so you never get bored of plain food and the decoration is really good alot of cool stuff that keeps you on the edge

We've been going to Shoney for a long time and in a lot of different locations. But this Shoney is one of the best I've ever been to. Ever thing was great.

Don't order the Chicken Tenders they are so dang little. And you only get 5 tiny pieces. You get a ton of French fries compared to the chicken tenders. If you ask for extra dipping sauce they look at you like your crazy. The servers were very slow.And I was in there at a slow time of day. It was maybe people at 4 or 5 other tables. I'm talking maybe 2 or 3 people at each table.

It was fairly good food, decent price, with great service. The environment, not so much. All the chairs and booths were pretty beat up. Don't take your date here... but then again, don't take your date to Shoney's in general.

Great, but tables need refinished. Had paper on them and that made better but part not covered was sticky!

The food was good but, the service was not good at all. Atmosphere was ok...but not great. Our waitress wasn't very friendly, and she didn't return very often to see if we needed anything. It was our first time at a Shoney's, and we were quite disappointed.

Nice place to stop in. Food was decent, service was OK. Lots of Homeless outside, roaming around in a daze 🥴 and seem to be on drugs.

Husband's fish sandwhich was not a sandwhich. The fillets were luke warm and over cooked. Our friend's omelette had barely cooked peppers and onions on top of the egg instead inside the omelet and my Philly steak ended up being chicken Philly without a bun. They ended up putting it on bun but no onion or peppers. Disappointed.

There are so few Shoney's Restaurants left in operation in our area (Georgia) that we were happy to find this one in Tennessee. The employees were nice and the food was delicious.

Pulled up parking lot only had 3 cars there. Soon as u walked in the door the floor is nasty. asked why it wasn't packed was told because school was back in. No..it's Saturday school is always out on Saturday and not to forget it's Labor day weekend. So whatever our waitress was fine. It was the other waitress the darker one with the attitude. Don't know why she had one with us but I wish her well.overall the food was okay the salmon was good. But after today I have no need to ever go back 8/31/2024

Cold beer at a shoney's are you kidding me!!!!

Sounds like they're working on issues we had..... hopefully they continue to stay focused on good business... for the owners sake

First time going to a Shoneys and I wasn't sure what to expect. It has a salad bar/buffet and a small menu. It's just really average/ below average food.

Food was fresh and hot. 2nd time I have been there. Erica was our server, she was awesome

Spoke to the owner and after the conversation with him I understand why his employees do what they do and why this happened. A simple healthcare dept visit will take care of it, I wish you all the success with the team you’ve hired, you deserve every single thing that happens t witnessed 1st hands the following health code violations - Employee was observed using the restroom AND left the restroom WITHOUT washing his hands - employee was observed handling ready to eat foods without gloves immediately after not washing his hands - 2 employees were working without hair net , they were observed running their hands thru their hairs, lifting their shirts and touching their torsos In plain sight (hostess stand). They were then Observed picking up from kitchen and from food buffet ready to eat foods and served guests the food - the manager was alerted to this situation and did nothing to correct or rectify . Did not provide them with gloves or instructed them to wash their hands. Employees were observed serving and setting guests on dirty, not wiped tables. Instead they were using paper to cover tables instead of simply wiping them clean - food from buffet was left outside of the ice , outside of the sneeze guard cover for longer than 1 hour. Food was later restocked BACK into the buffet - this level of ignorance and Negligence is so severe it borderlines in criminal. Please please do something about it

The food just isn't what it used to be. The staff are friendly however.

The food was good. A few things, like the hotdog, were amazing. The brown gravy, not so much. Ribs are chicken wings were okay.. nothing spectacular. The broccoli soup was fire. Our server was good and on top of it.

Ordered a meal to go and it was half of what you get if you sit down but I paid the price of a full meal. Glad I didn’t order online because the prices are higher. Lesson learned: sit down, order, take a bite and get a to-go tray. The mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like it was from a box or package and the greens had a funny taste. No complaint about the taste of the chicken though. Not sure if I will come back to this particular location.

I recently visited Shoney’s in Nashville for breakfast early on a Sunday morning, and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The restaurant brought back memories from the animated show Rick and Morty, and it definitely lived up to the hype! From the moment I walked in, I was seated quickly and greeted by my cheerful waitress, Dee. She was incredibly helpful, always making sure my coffee was topped off and even gave me a cup to go. Her positive energy set the tone for a great meal. The food was self-serve, with a wide variety of options, including multiple types of grits, which I loved. The portions were generous, and the plate sizes were just right. The brown paper table covers added a cozy, homely touch to the ambiance. The restaurant itself was clean, including the bathrooms, which had nice hand soap. The lighting was perfect for a relaxing morning, and I appreciated the upbeat atmosphere with the staff being visibly happy, even dancing at times. The only minor downside was that some of the seating could use a bit of upkeep, as there were a few stains. However, this didn’t detract much from the overall experience. All in all, Shoney’s in Nashville provided a wonderful start to my day, and I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Highly recommended for a satisfying breakfast!

Was out of town visiting family, enjoyed the food as always.

Friendly service with good food.

It's a very busy place, our waitress was awesome. Its Nashville so no telling what walk of life you will see, this Shoneys is very welcoming to all. Good food in a loving atmosphere, Welcome to the South. This is how we roll.

My food was horrible. My meal was overcooked so severely that even the manager couldn't recognize what it was.

Maybe I went there on the wrong day? The buffet sucked! It wasn't a good selection for 14.99. I'm not going back!!

My husband and I were traveling through Nashville and, having eaten and enjoyed Shoney's when we had them in Texas, I had hoped to introduce him to Shoney's. We read reviews first, and I prefaced my request to go there by stating we could give it a chance. (Some of the reviews are not good.) We never had a chance to try the food. Upon walking in, I noticed the rug and floor in the entryway were sticky. There was no employee at the front..okay but the place was not busy. We were there at 6 pm. There was no sign directing us to either wait to be seated or to seat ourselves, so we chose to wait. We spotted two wait staff and waited for an acknowledgment of any kind...eye contact, a nod, a waive... got nothing. One employee had a horrible scowl and walked past us three times without so much as a look. The other was toward the back but looked our way, so we waited, thinking she had at least seen us. Nothing from her. After a few moments, we determined that our initial poor impression of the wait staff service was sufficient information to make a decision that we weren't going to pay for that type of customer care even if the food was good.

I will have to admit even though the rest of the experience was not so pleasant, the food was actually amazing.

Dirty tables all over. Only maybe five customers in the whole place. Food was old nothing fresh. Even the meal that was ordered to cook was old meat. Never go back.

Buffet was ok but not great. Food was kinda stale. Chicken strios hard. Waitress was ok.

Well let's see came in for lunch around 12:30 was seated in a timely manner went to the buffet bar to get lunch still serving breakfast the pan for chicken only had two pieces in it some of the items looked as though they had been there not stirred film on top had to ask the manager for chicken they had a pan sitting back where they cook it just sitting there she had to get it and bring it out by the way the manager was super nice when me and my friend got back to the table after our first plate our silverware and drinks were missing the table cleaner must have thought we left and clean the table wow! The manager did apologize sorry don't think I'll be back anytime soon. P.S didn't see any deserts?

Host was above and beyond helpful. We wanted the breakfast bar but we're running late getting there . They were taking it down as we were walking in. We told the host what we were there for and he went and made sure that the breakfast stuff was left out for us. He also had stuff brought back out.

The food was ok… some items weren’t as fresh for a buffet. The waitress came to the table once and we had to flag her for napkins and again for the check. Staff weren’t very friendly with speaking or that southern charm we look for when traveling.

It was across from La Quinta hotel where I stayed at. The waiter gave me a menu to look at. The food there was really good. I didn't do the buffet meal but next time I'm in Nashville I will order the buffet meal.

Went Sunday morning, man it was busy. The let us set at the bar and eat breakfast. It was a lot of fun. The food is good.

Surprisingly, this Shoneys buffet breakfast was so good. The biscuits was fresh and wonderful. They made pancakes and your type of eggs in the back. They were also was hot and fresh.

They had a pretty nice breakfast bar! All you can eat. It was a little pricey though.

The bacon was overcooked and the overall meal was mediocre. The restaurant was understaffed, with only one person managing the breakfast bar and serving tables. The only highlights were the mimosas and the other guests I met.

A family waiting for a table ahead of us left after waiting 15 minutes for a table with no one else in line. That should have been my cue. Plenty of empty tables too. After we got seated, my husband chose the breakfast buffet so he ate right away. Twice! My simple order off the menu took 20 minutes. I gotta admit: the food was good, tasty. However, the service was the issue. I never got the straw I asked for. No jelly for my toast. My hubby never got a coffee refill. This is an airport location so time was a factor. That’s why service should be a major focus here. The manager recognized their failure & comped my $8.99 meal. But I would glad pay if the service was worthy.

Waiter had an over flow and manager stepped up making our dining one to remember. Thanks to managers like him, you will do well.

Still a good place for breakfast. The lunch buffet is pretty good, but not thrilling. However, the other day they had slow cooked pot roast that was actually really good (I piled it on my mashed potatoes.) I'll be back for that. I was sad there's no dessert offered at the buffet. Not even ice cream. I don't need dessert anyway.

Worst place to go to eat ever!!! we ordered 3 drinks lady came back with 2 drinks we didn’t even order and said we are done making drinks now but you can have beer. Food took FOREVER to come out an and half later we got 2 of 3 meals.

Shoneys was awesome this morning. Food and service was on point.

There was food on the seat and trash on the floor, in the middle of the aisle. It was a used napkin and small empty container. Two employees, with nothing in their hands, looked down, saw the same thing and didn’t pick it up. What else don’t they care about? Your food, perhaps? Not wanting to risk it, we left without ordering.

The food is low quality. Our waiter was trying his best but over worked.

Came in for breakfast buffet. Stood in line at the door for 15 minutes before we were told that was the line for people who had already put their name down on the list. Buffet was really good but our server was the worst. 20 minutes later she arrived with our drink order. In order to get our refills, I had to walk over to the bar. Our server only came back to the table to present us with the bill. Never took our dirty plates, never asked if we needed anything. It was just three of us we had a coffee, sprite, and adult coke. If we go back I'll make sure just to sit at the bar. The music being played was way too loud.

Quick and easy place. One if the last places that have an all you can eat food bar

You can't go wrong with all you can eat breakfast bar! I highly recommend a server named Erica! She has the most professional demeanor. She is kind, courteous, and really sets the bar for service. She is usually on the bar side, and if you're in town and stop by shoneys, you really must go see the waitress with purple hair and glasses! Thank me later ..

We had a great young man as our waiter who took excellent care of us.

Walked in to a less than half full restaurant. It took 10 minutes to be seated. It took another 15 for a menu. Waiter immediately asked me if I knew what I wanted. I said know and I think it made him mad. He ignored me for 15 minutes so I walked out. When I walked out my waiter was hobknobbing with another server and a customer. 45 min wasted. Maybe they were just racist against white people.

What a disgusting experience!!!! It started with a dred topped server too busy messing with the other tall thin server ignoring the guests. Then poor Patricia comes dragging in to at least ask to give her a moment. The menus were filthy, covered in stick on food. The buffet looked just like they had dumped out Banquet frozen meals. We waited over 25 minutes including the 10 minutes where part of our meal just sitting on the pass bar getting cold. What arrived at the table was beyond disgusting!!! Poor Patricia, we turned the two of three meals that arrived down on the spot and walked out. We will never attempt to eat at a Shoney' s ever again!!!

Tendency to be very busy early. Unless you order the buffet your food order comes out slowly.

Buffet didn't taste good, server treated us like she was too busy to come to our table and had stomach issues for hours after eating there.

The food is OK on the breakfast buffet but whatever you do, do not use the cheese sauce it tastes like butt

Hi Shoney's crew! Me and my wife came from Canada to Nashville for CMA Fest and stayed at a hotel across the street. We decided to come and try you guys out and couldn't have been happier! We had the plentiful buffet. From the friendly staff to the hot, tasty food, cold crisp salads, and decent atmosphere, we REALLY enjoyed ourselves! Some other reviews were pretty critical, but I think they're expecting a Michelin star restaurant. The price is right, and everything was perfect (for us anyway). We will certainly come back if we do Nashville again. Thanks for the great experience!!

The buffet was better than it should have been, the food was fresh, the fried chicken was consistently good and the mashed potatoes with gravy were the best part.

Edited 6/7/24 May, 2023 (5 stars) Burgers were great, staff was excellent! Music was a bit louder than normal but we had a nice dinner. Newer remodel, very clean looking. No cash at this restaurant but I’m sure there’s a reason for it, didn’t ask. We will definitely go again if we pass through again. __________________________________ May,2024-one year later (1 star) Very different visit this time only a year later. I wonder if the management has changed. The restaurant was very dirty. I went to the restroom and we ended up leaving before we even ordered. One year, like night and day. Will not go back unless you hire back the person who was managing from a year ago.
