A very good Polish restaurant in London in the Wood Green district. Tasty and home-made food. Solid portions. The service provided by Mrs. Cecylia is at the highest level, as well as the homely atmosphere. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

The giant guy who's basically FOH was brutally cold and ride to our group for my mums birthday :( and made a super sour and awkward experience. Seems he absolutely hated us the moment we stepped in Food was extremely average given the price (£70 for 3 mains and soft drinks) Would NOT recommend and think they are getting away with murder given the prices/attitude and food quality. Real shame and put a massive downer on the day. Won't be going back. Also don't order the goulash, seriously

Thank you to this wonderful couple for their wonderful hospitality. It was great to fight with the oxen in Lodz and Lodz. The food was also good and the atmosphere was great. We will come back to you as soon as I come to London.

The food was delicious, very large portions. Truly a place worth recommending and going with family or friends. The atmosphere and service are of a high standard. If you are wondering where to go to eat, choose this place right away!

The Polish restaurant Zakopane in London had a less than ideal location, with lots of rubbish surrounding the establishment. This detracted from the overall ambiance of the place. The customer service was also lacking, with one staff member in particular making me feel unwelcome during my visit. On a more positive note, the food was a highlight of the experience. The soups were delicious and the portions were generous. The mains were decent, and I particularly enjoyed the lovely local fruit drink that was offered. One area that definitely needs improvement is the cleanliness of the toilets. A nice clean would go a long way in enhancing the overall experience for patrons. Despite some drawbacks, the tasty food made the visit somewhat worthwhile.

I went there because the place was recommended to me. I gave it only two stars because I was expecting something completely different.

We love the mountains, Zakopane and the local food. And at Folk House Zakopane you can feel this atmosphere and taste.

I first went here years ago, and had a great meal then, years later I came back to visit with some friends. It was just as good, if not better because I ordered more food. Portions big, prices very reasonable, staff great and the icing on the cake was being in the presence of one the strongest men on earth. No seriously, the waiter/owner holds world records, ask them. 10/10 will visit again, hopefully sooner this time.

I don’t relish leaving negative reviews but the quality of food was shockingly bad on my visit. Barely edible, bone-dry chicken. Tangy vegetables clearly on the turn. We were the only people eating there so to complain felt uncomfortable. It’s a shame as the other reviews here are great and I was looking forward to it!

Great atmosphere, great trout, pieorgi, sour soup, yummy and I recommend the Ciupaga drink, everything is tasty and fresh.

Choćbym chciała dać więcej gwiazdek za samo jedzenie, bo jest całkiem smaczne, a porcje duże, to widok pełzającego między półkami z alkoholami prusaka ( wygląda jak karaluch ) mi na to nie pozwala. Mieszkając w Londynie miałam niestety nieprzyjemną okazje się z tym borykać, więc doskonale wiem jak one wyglądają i jak szybko się rozprzestrzeniają. Rada dla właściciela, nie depczcie ich bo wtedy ich jajka się roznoszą.

Walked past this place so many times before booking a table, and wish I’d done so much sooner. Everything was fantastic and left these two New Zealanders eagerly awaiting our next visit. Go with an appetite!

Everything was great apart from hard chair/ bench to sit on; a little cushion would do the job.

We visited on the spur of the moment and there was no menu outside so we didn’t know exactly what to expect. Between us we ordered the goulash, a chicken schnitzel and pork chop. It was all delicious and the portions were huge. We plan to go back to try more of the menu!

Only my 2nd time having polish food and I have to say its always delicious. I got the pork shank, mashed potatoes and cabbage and it was amazing. Staropramen on tap is ice cold and delicious, this place is top notch really good.

Tasty. Big portions. Nothing extraordinary.

Great food, full portions. Menu leans towards all manner of pork, cabbage, cheese dishes and many other things. Good beer. Whimsical, sometimes cheeky folk art line the walls, animal pelts draped over the seating. There will probably be a few other local polish people having some food or a pint. Good sign. You probably won't hear English spoken here, other than by your waiter. Behave as a guest and they will treat you well. Hidden gem kind of place, definitely worth the trip.

We walked in and were not impressed about the telly being on on the sport section but once we managed to turn it off in our minds we really enjoyed the amazing, tasting food (the Polish dumplings simply super!) and the lovely furniture which make you feel like you are in a cottage on the mountains. They have nice selection of Polish beers, also the portions are very big, so you won't leave starving.

Great food of a specific region of Highland in Poland, been there few times and the service along with a super tasty food was great.

We went to this restaurant on a Friday evening, there was only 4 other customers in the restaurant at the time, yet they entirely ignored us, we had to seat our selves, we waited for the menu that never came, the person in charge was having a chitchat and saw that we were waiting but didn’t care. We left, and we will never go back, awful service.

Only previously encountered Polish food in a Plymouth cafe much bigger than here. FHZ has some of the same features but a deal more enthusiasm and evident love of the dishes. It’s a small space, I think less than 20 covers but it affable garrulous and very hospitable. Very enjoyable. Close to Turnpike Lane for transport.

Oraz kolejny zamówiłem golonkę i porad kolejny kucharz ma w nosie o co się go prosi Ziemniaki nie posolone golonka też jakoś słabo doprawiona i poprostu wyciągnięta z rosołu nawet nie dopieczona o co prosiłem 2 godziny przed dostarczeniem zamówienia aby kucharz upiekł ją na chrupiąco a dostałem niedogotowaną nie dopieczoną i nie odchodzacą porcję mięsa z kością i dziwnym bukietem surówek Pierwszy raz się spotykam z kiszoną z pomidorami ale może 20 lat w Gastronomi to za mało aby wiedzieć jakie sie podaje w Zakopanem. Ogólnie to była ostatnia szansa dla tej restauracji. Ocena -bardzo słabo i bez smaku, gości mają w nosie, najważniejsze żeby było jak najwięcej

Pyszne jedzenie prawie takie jak w domu!

We came here on the insistence of a friend who won't stop raving about the place. He was proven to be dead right. It's a small dining room (with only four or so tables) decorated with all manner of weird and wonderful curios from Polish folk culture. I think it compares favourably with the also-excellent Autograf Grill in Green Lanes. Whereas Autograf is more pricey and aimed at a trendier crowd, Zakopane seems to be aimed primarily at the local Polish community. The food is unpretentious, well-priced and delicious. The food is hearty. We started off with bread and lard with pickled cucumber, as well as sheep's cheese and pork. We then got a selection of pierogi for the table. I had a fantastic pork shank with wonderfully smokey cabbage, mustard and horseradish. The portions were enormous. We capped off the night with a beer or two and walnut vodka - as in Poland, the bar had a great selection of different fruit vodkas and brandies. The staff were helpful and tolerant of our increasing exuberance.

This restaurant is just what a Polish person needs every now and again. Delicious, authentic Polish food with gigantic portions. Everything is very reasonably priced, and the decor is fantastic (although explaining goralskie jaja to my boyfriend was slightly odd). Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone!

Food was nice. We had to wait for food a bit as there was some event going on. We had "pirohy" - dumplings staffed with cheese and potatoes. Also gulas with potato pancake. Next time we'll try different meals.

Mi esposa es de zakopane y fue una sorpresa maravillosa para ella. Viajamos desde Essex en transporte público y debemos decir que valió la pena el viaje de 2 horas. Comida regional muy auténtica, música, decoración e incluso dialecto!

Restaurante local muy bonita polski. La comida es deliciosa y porciones enormes. La cerveza es barato. El servicio es amable. No hay nada que no te guste. Tuve sopa de pollo para entradas que era sencillo de una buena manera. No saladas o condimentadas. Sólo sabor pollo. Mi compañero tenía costillas sopa sauerkraut y ahumado, que era divino. Me tiene frito patata tortita con gulash y era tan sabrosa. Sin duda recomendable. Mi pareja que era codillo de cerdo, y verdaderamente delicioso enorme. No hay espacio para los postres. 35 libras de comida y bebidas - ganga. Volveremos.

Then food is amazing, wonderful, really delicious but the waiter is not too friendly. No contact, no communication...no offer, no recommendation and no SMILE at all.

Recomiendo este pequeño lugar para degustar comida tradicional polaca y la bebida. Yo estaba allí a la hora del almuerzo, pero estoy seguro de que es un buen lugar para una cena. Hay un extenso menú, ya que no estaba seguro de que todo era la camarera nos recomendó el buñuelo de queso cottage. Vinieron con un puñado de cebollas fritas y tocino. El tamaño de la porción era perfecta y eran muy sabrosos. La decoración es muy acogedora y rústica, se siente auténtico sin ser pretencioso.

Fantástico restaurante, que sirve frita oscypek (queso de cabra) que puede ser difícil de encontrar en otros restaurantes polacos.

Ambiente original, cálida bienvenida, enormes porciones de comida increíble! I m tan feliz que mi amigo polaco me trajo a este lugar, se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos

Niestety nie mam dobrych opini na temat tej restauracji! Zamowilam z mezem golonke i schabowego - 80% golonki tluszcz reszta zylaste mieso, kotlet tak twardy ze nie dalo sie go przekroic!! Urocza pani kelnerka nie byla zainteresowana ze prawie nic nie zjedlismy. Szkoda bo polskie jedzenie i goscinnosc jaka znam nie ma nic wspolnego z tym miejscem!

Hi this was one of the worst experience I ever have i order my food on the phone to get delivery to my house and the order get owner the restaurant staszek wchich he lost my order by accident and we get food ready in more than 2 hours after another call to the zakopane and he didn't even apologized for a boss of the restaurant this is a joke and this guy was just unfair and rude he is a persnon without any knowledge to lead any branch of restaurants he is more than zero

I have never been in Polish restaurant in UK before but, food was incredibly good.My best friend ordered dish with beef ( crispy potato cake with goulash) and I had simple chicken brest with chips.Both we very tasty and well prepared. Drinks and cocktails were also awesome - I loved sweet and colourful Ciapanie na sianie ;) Another drink - good for a taste before a meal - Wscikniety Janicek ;) Desserts ? Oh... my theirs apple cake is just sooo yummy ;) Great staff who knows how to care about the customers, will help you to choose food and give perfect recommendations ;) You will struggle to move,as portions are proper size, make sure you are very hungry ;)Will definitely visit again.

This is by far the best Polish restaurant in North London. Staszek the owner and his staff are very friendly, they will make sure to make your experience special. They even make you a special dish which is not on the menu, a great fact for a vegetarian. Make sure you reserve a table, especially for dinner at the weekend. Highly recommended!

We moved in just down the road and have visited 3 times in two weeks because we loved it that much. It is genuinely delicious food, with a range of authentic polish dishes (would recommended the goulash) and polish beers. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, thoroughly recommended!

I visited the Folk House last week for a Polish friend's birthday - I had never eaten Polish cuisine before and was told this was a 'highlander' speciality restaurant (A mountainous area of Poland near the Czech border, I believe)The whole restaurant is tiny, with log cabin style decor and tradition Polish clothing on the walls as a feature. The staff are lovely and friendly and very good at recommending dishes to a first time diner!I found the food to be simple and filling, but excellently prepared and flavoursome. I went for chicken and sheep's cheese, chicken noodle soup, mixed dumplings and cabbage. All very good and reasonably priced! You won't leave there hungry....
