Chips are delicious and the fish is really good. Best around, and we’ve tried nearly all in Fleet! Not tried Chinese menu.

Always used Flying Fish years ago, food was great, then change of ownership 5+ years ago and it went seriously down hill, so went elsewhere. Tried them again today as our usual was closed and had been years, so thought it may have improved. We had scampi and chips, scampi was pretty good but chips had a real strong oil taste, as if they’d been cooked in olive oil, even salt and vinegar wouldn’t mask the taste, not nice at all. Sadly won’t be giving them another try.

Fantastic food, excellent service, and very fresh! Always love coming back here. Ran by a lovely family too.

It says something when you have to download the app again on your new phone just to leave another bad review for this place. We tried the chip shop this time, waited for the fish to be cooked (a good sign) but when I got home with it (2mins drive) we plated up the worst food I have ever seen. Even their curry sauce was bad (it was congealed solid, looked like play dough and smelt like socks). The chips were all bruised, old, clearly they didn't cook a fresh batch since before lockdown. Terrible tasting is too good for this place, sort yourselves out.

Had a text at 1922 saying delivery on it's way. 1.5miles. At 1955 I'm phoning chasing the delivery. "Its on its way" I'm told. He arrived a minute later and the food is bland, Singapore rice isn't spicy. The curry is tasteless. Wont be having this again. Indid receive a phone call from a lady at the takeaway apologising for being very late. Had no excuse or reason.

Had to wait 35 mins in the shop even though there was only x1 other person in there when we placed the order. They have no system to serve people in order, kept getting knocked down the queue as phone orders came in. Food is ok, slightly over priced, be prepared for a very long wait at peak times. Check the order they think you have placed, lots of mistakes.

We ordered through just eat and was surprised to see they had this food on the menu. We ordered satay chicken, pad Thai, crispy shredded chilli beef and mushroom chop suey. The food was delivered promptly and very hot. The food was delicious and I will definitely be ordering from here again.

I’m shocked at the negative reviews. Admittedly I’ve only tried their Chinese food but I’ve been ordering from them for over a year and at least once a month. It has always been excellent. The food arrives hot and cooked to perfection. They even provide the sweet and sour sauce in a separate pot and the Hong Kong style pork arrives crispy with hole in its container. The beef with seasonal vegetables is excellent, with tasty and succulent beef. The crab meat and sweetcorn soup has real crab, none of this crab stick rubbish from other places. And finally they have a 5 hygiene rating (unlike some other local establishments).

Don’t ever eat from here. I don’t write reviews as I don’t have the time, but I feel I just have to write about this place. I ordered through Just Eat, for simple Chinese starters, they arrived, over cooked and cold! I ordered satay Chicken, prawn toasts, spring rolls, seaweed and ribs. I phoned to complain, and was told they are meant to be served cold! No apology! Nothing Chinese is my favourite food and I have never had this food served cold!

I would love to be able to add a picture to this review I however I can’t so I will just describe that I had to pull a string of gristle chewy beef out of my daughters throat because she was choking on it! requested a full refund of my order which was only £22 and they refused and stated they could only refund the price of the chow mein! absolutely disgusting service and no remorse for the fact she choked. the rest of the food wasn’t very impressive either and my order was late

Right so I’ve ordered fish and chips for the office, we waited until the time slot and nothing, we gave it 5 mins and called them, and then repeatedly called them for the next 30 mins. Finally after an hour the food arrives, stone cold, soggy and covered in condensation. I’ve called them again and she offered me a half price refund. I explained it was going straight in the bin. I was offered a full refund, gave them My card details and instead they charged me again. I was left, hungry and angry. They have no customer service, and they’ve not attempted to compensate me for this shambolic experience. Save your money and go to Churchill’s

Went in on Sunday evening(between 7 & 8pm) to get us all fish and chips..Have switched to them after using the one in Ancells Farm for a long time...Been rest excellent then on Sunday we were given probably the worst chips we had in a long time...they looked old, poor quality, not hot.. Not much more I can say except that the fish was excellent and the mushy peas were good..

Awful fish and chips! All the grease leaked out of the paper bag on my boyfriends journey home, all over his coat and in the car on the seats. Fish completely stuck to the inside of the paper bag and so oily I’m sure eating it would take years of your life. Tried a few chips, they tasted ok but to be honest the whole experience has put me of fish and chips for life! Wouldn’t even recommend to someone I didn’t like! £12 for a damaged coat and car seat and no edible dinner!

Please control the male staff in the back of your shop. Each time I visit with my daughter we both have to endure the long uncomfortable sleazy stares from the dark haired male and his friend, to the point where my daughter will no longer come inside and waits in the car. Your food and the serving staff are great, but let down by the two in the back.

Completely dried out and inedible pie and chips. Had obviously been left in the hot cabinet for hours. Won't be making that mistake again

Very great food, we ordered 3 times take away/delivery. So far so good, much better quality and price than the other ones around. Big portions. Good service.

We have recently moved to Fleet so are trying a number of differently takeaway options week-by-week. Absolutely love our Friday treat from the Flying Fish. Cod is always chunky and white, crispy batter and fresh perfectly-cooked chips. A side order of excellent mushy peas completes the picture!

We thought we would try the Chinese tonight. Food arrived within 25min, crispy chilli chicken was very tasty The only down side is when you order a side of chips it's not very big Rest was very nice

Justo cuando pensaba comida china en la flota no hay nada peor, estos chicos discontinua al podium. 90 minutos a domicilio (50 minutos), la calidad estimada de la comida fue muy mala. Muchas, pero no es agradable en absoluto, ninguno. Rango adecuado. Palo para pescado y patatas fritas.

Me dio este lugar bastante crítica negativa cuando abrió como el servicio y la comida era estupenda en todo, pero no lo intenté recientemente y, de hecho, creo que han mejorado mucho. Más Amable que mi primera visita y la comida era buena.

Chips are great chip shop chips, and large portion gets you enough for two easily. Orders don't take long and you can order Chinese food as well. Need to park round back behind launderette when road parking taken.

De regreso a casa en unos 10 minutos, la comida y encontrar unwrapped pescado muy caliente que estaba muy fresco y suculento las patatas fritas, sin embargo, no cumplió con la calidad de los peces. Fish and chips fine, nothing to shout about unfortunately but I felt compelled to write a review based on terrible customer service. Assistant was on her phone the entire time she served myself and several other customers, only to hide phone when the boss appeared! Simply rude!

We have used this restaurant many times for both fish and chips and Asian food. We have tried other fish & chip restaurants but none of them seem to match up to the Flying Fish. The fish is a good size and freshly cooked. The Asian food is also extremely good and we have tried both the Chinese and Thai dishes.We thought this restaurant was good before the new owners took over but it is now even better!

We have not used the Flying fish before until we moved to this year.We have used 3/4 times mainly for Chinese which superb but had fish & chips and they are good tooSad there has been some low rated reviews - I'm very particular and feel the Flying Fish is worthy of a 5

What a disappointment, this used to be the best fish shop for miles around. Today the very expensive haddock and chips were almost inedible. The thick batter was soggy and undercooked, with soft spongy 'bits' adhering to the fish; the fish was not totally cooked through. The chips were pale and soggy, evidently undercooked. And even the salt and vinegar application was poor and frugal. Very poor, disappointing, and a bit let down.

Crispy batter, firm nicely cooked fish and great chips. On previous occasion NHS we have tried and enjoyed the Chinese food.Good news!

Service used to be good and food used to be very good, but it has definitely slipped back in the last year or two. However, one of the 1-star reviews seem a bit harsh. Last time I visited, it had become a Chinese Restaurant that also does Fish & Chips. Long wait for it to be ready and portions now smaller. I think I'll find somewhere else.

I know you cant go wrong with chips and a batter sausage,fish cake?? um yes you can if you buy from here...The chips were vile we binned them,the sausage was awful hardly any batter just brown...The girl serving us had her hair hanging,,,second time here and still as awful as the first time..small portions expensive and well we won't be back..

Got fish and chips prety sure that the fish was pangasius watery with two fish to make up a potion. it was bloody awful. Dont bother

I just paid £5 for a 'large' portion of vegetable dumplings, got home and realised it's a tiny helping....not happy!

Visited this evening for a quick take away as my first choice 'chippy' was closed. Won't be going back. Although chips were just about edible, the fish was very oily and after the first 4 mouthfuls contained bones, I gave up.

I've bought plaice and chips twice here in the last couple of months. The first time I was disappointed at how small the piece of plaice was and thought I had just been unlucky. However, husband popped out to get some this evening and on serving it up discovered the same again. the pieces of plaice are literally half the size of what one would expect to find. Since the refurbishment and change of ownership this place has definitely deteriorated. You always have to wait for items to be cooked too - nothing ever seems to be cooked in advance - only fish and chip shop I've used that operates like this. In future will stick to the chippie in The Verne - much more reliable.

This used to be the best fish and chip chop in the area but we heard it had changed hands and didn't bother to go anymore until last night. We just had cod and chips and 2 extra portions of chips. The cod was extremely small, nowhere near the value of the previous owners and with soggy batter. The chips were soggy as well, and to cap it all we were all I'll in the night and the only common denominator was the chips. I think the oil is too old and needs to be changed, but we will not be going back again to see if things have changed. Such a shame.

We last went here and the fish and chips were ok. Bought it gain this evening as no where else was open in a Sunday and it was awful. The cods were swimming around in oil and as for the rock I bought, I'm not 100% convinced it was actually rock! Never had anything like it before and definitely not in a good way. Will never be going there again.

one of the few chip shops open on a Sunday so thought we'd give it a go, wish we'd read the reviews first! The chips were terrible, really soggy and cold. We went at 5pm when the shop had just opened and honestly think they gave us chips from the night before which had been heated up. Don't go here!!

Hadn't had fish and chips in ages - what a disappointment!The chips were brown and soggy, and the portion was tiny (which in this case, was a good thing!).The chips were served in small a bag rather than being wrapped up - which meant they got cold very quickly on the way home, and the oil soaked through the bag.Also had to wait as they didn't seem to have anything ready.We're new to the area, so if anyone knows anywhere better, please mention it!

Had chance to buy fish and chips today for the first time. I never had such worst fish and chips in my life. Do not waste your money, better buy one in supermarket and heat it. Never ever buy from this shop unless they give it freely.

Very dissapointed. The fish and chips were both under cooked, the chips were a very small portion and was just thrown in a bag, so by the time a got home (5mins) it was not very hot and the grease from the fish had soaked through the bag and is now on my car seat.

Average fish and chips - only visited because our favourite was closed due to holidays. No real complaints, fish, batter, and chips! What more would you expect?

I have tried this place a few times with mixed results, but finally it has sorted itself out - new manager, different staff and really excellent fish and chips. Long May it last!

The chips were fine but the fish was really overcooked and dry and the batter way too thick. The shop wan't very busy when I visited, may be it gets better...

This has been our local choice for years because the food has always been consistently good but sadly my last visit under the new management was a noticeable decline. On arrival there was literally nothing ready in the hot trays and I was told a pie would take an hour?Chips were hard and not enjoyable.. The fish had been put into a separate food bag which it it isn't usually but it's possibly not a good idea as when I got home half the batter was stuck to the bag and not the fish leaving me with a bit of a mess to put on the plate! We got a plain sausage when we had asked for a battered sausage (and I had definitely confirmed it when asked again) and I didn't eat it but it really didn't look great.I noticed that another man asked for fish (yes..he actually thought he might get fish in a fish shop!) and he was told there was no more batter and "I'm not doing it now it takes ages..you can have anything without batter" It was 9pm so even if it shuts at 10pm there was still an hours worth of custom and four other people waiting just when I was there. I really wanted it to be good and support the new people but sorry to say it seemed a bit poor in all areas. Not great organisation, food or service.. We too shall be trying elsewhere next time..

We live in Crookham Village, Fleet, and have always used the Flying Fish and Chip Shop on a very regular basis because it was always so good. UNFORTUNATELY today we decided to have a take away, AND WHAT A DISASTER, as soon as I opened it I said to my husband this is not cod, it no way looked like cod, very flat and very greasy and when you opened it up it was very grey. Chips like rubber, and the curry sauce was very sweet, in all a horrible takeaway. There is no way we will be going back there, but we have been told that Ancells Farm in Fleet are very good, so thats where we shall be going to. All I can say that was £20.00 in the bin. Tried phoning but could not get through YOU ARE RUBBISH

I've used the Flying Fish for 10+ years and considered it to be the best in area. Sadly the new owners have cleared changed the suppliers and quality of ingredients used, chips are now like plastic and fish was grey and a funny texture. Such a shame, we'll have to try a few others and see if we can't find a new favorite chippy.

Shame because this is our closest chippy but really disappointed and won't go back. No food ready cooked so had to wait for food then small portions, way way way too much salt and was impossible to eat. The chips were a bit chewy for my liking. Surprised to see so many good reviews of this place, don't bother!

Excellent value for money, with freshly cooked fish and chips and a friendly staff.Parking was easy.

As well as always having the best, fresh cooked fish and chips and the best veggie 'burger' thing, they are the only 'chippie' in the Farnborough/Fleet area that is open on a Sunday teatime. Very good quality and value.

Fish was lovely, chips could've been better....fish and chips not a cheap takeaway anymore so think more of an effort is needed here...quality was ok but nothing more..

On 19th August, Chineham WI had an evening cruise on the Basingstoke Canal with the John Pinkerton Soc. Half way through we had our delivery of the most delicious FISH & CHIPS and CHICKEN & CHIPS delivered right on time, beautifully warm and plentiful by the Flying Fish.Made our already good evening even better..wonderful idea. We recently tried this little family run fish take away in Fleet and simply cannot recommend it enough! The fish was fresh, the batter crispy AND tasty, and the chips were big, fat and scrummy! The best bit is nothing tasted like old oil like so many fish take away places so we will definitely be going back!
