Fluffy Rice in Brentwood

Over 45 minutes late for a specified delivery slot. Not good enough. Good food but now extremely over priced. Will think twice in future, real shame.

Haven't been here for quite a while due to some negative reviews even though we have previously enjoyed it here. The service and food was excellent considering it was a Saturday evening. A good menu that was explained when asked. Will definitely return.

Always friendly and delicious food at this small family run restaurant. The chicken or vegetable Green curry is always a favourite with tempura vegetables to start.

What an excellent restaurant for proper authentic Thai food. Cosy restaurant, with welcoming staff. I can recommend the sea bass which comes with a beautifully hot salad. You don't get dishes like this at the chain Thai restaurants.

The flavour is always incredible and made very well! Maybe on the less spicy side of thai, but good quality. Every order has come super fast, never waited longer than 45 mins for a takeaway even on a Friday or saturday night

We visited Saturday evening The service was initially quite good but a wait between main course and rice. Their table booking service led to people waiting for their table while the diners finished.Staff don’t seem trained in basic cleaning and serving etiquette. There was no offer of a desert/coffe.The bill had 10% service and they charged £3 for card machine, I couldn’t believe it. Refused to pay the service charge due to card fee ,and left,definitely will not be going back

Best authentic Thai food in Brentwood. Forget the aesthetics … it looks like a beach shack but the food is just like it would be on a Thai beach. Fresh and tasty. Everything you order is cooked fresh toperfection. Only a few tables but Bea is so accommodating and friendly. Takeaway is most of the trade here but we often eat in. Licences too and the wine is pretty good too.

We are big fans of Thai cuisine - we have been in Thailand numerous times, and experienced the real authentic Thai food. Despite reading a few poor reviews, we wanted to go and experience this place ourselves. We ordered Massaman Lamb curry and Vegetable Penang curry + coconut rice. We asked for jasmine tea, but got Chinese green tea, that was incredibly weak (and arrived without the leaves/or perhaps tea bags already removed). Then arrived two bowls of rice - the bowls were incredibly hot - just like taken from the microwave, and the flavour didn’t have a coconut flavour at all. Rice was followed by Vegetable Penang curry (see picture), which was quite all right. Then we have been told that our Lamb Massaman curry has been made with chicken. So we politely said we will wait for the lamb one. This dish arrived within 5 minutes, and it was truly horrible - the presentation, as well as the taste. The meat was tough and absolutely tasteless. It was far from the taste of Massaman curry. Just 5 days prior to this experience we visited our favourite award winning restaurant Yum-yum in Stoke Newington (London) and had the Massaman curry over there. Perfectly presented, delicious and cooked to precision, and cheaper than the tasteless dish at Fluffy Rice. Overall Fluffy Rice is a disappointment - we have been recommended this place for it’s authenticity, but this is far from it. At the end it’s important to note, that you can’t pay by card. You are presented with an option to pay by cash or Paypal transfer. Which is a bit ridiculous. Overpriced, low quality food, far from authentic Thai, and not worth it at all.

Placed order and then had it cancelled 10 minutes later. No reason etc and not even sure if money has been refunded. I’ve now cancelled Fluffy Rice. I will never use this restaurant ever again. Customer service - zero!!!

The food tasted terrible rather I would eat dog food lousy tasting food ordered lamb massaman curry and I had 6 baby potatoes in them for the cost we paid for the food and the quantity don't tally up and the lowest tasting food I had eaten in evaluating the food and the wasn't friendly customer service I rather die than eat that food again I think I am going to puke

We keep coming back, it's still the best thai restaurant in Essex from the prawn crackers up! The chilli sea bass with rice was delicious as was the ever reliable phad thai.

Have missed fluffy rice during shut down, was looking forward to my meal. Usually love your food, in particular the crying beef, you must have changed your butcher because my steak was terrible.

The restaurant is closed due to Covid as it’s too small to open . It is our favourite place to go usually but is still offering delicious food to take away

We’re so lucky to have Fluffy Rice in Brentwood. They have an excellent selection of authentic Thai dishes - personal favourites of mine are the lamb shank massaman and prawn Pad Thai. It’s a very cosy place with a family-run friendly atmosphere and delicious cold beer to wash it all down with. Perfect.

Ordered a takeaway through Just Eat and they cancelled it 20 mins later without explanation. Not ideal on a Friday night and a big waste if time!

Dinner tonight was perfect! I ordered something different to what I normally go for, the 'crying beef', it was delicious! I have never had beef that tender and flavour some! The service was spot on and the staff friendly as always. If you like thai food, this family run place is 100% worth a visit!

We have been back here numerous times. Fantastic food and very friendly. It's small but perfectly formed and very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

This place is absolutely fantastic, relaxed dining Thai style - due to the nature of the tables, we have made some friends through dining here and will occasionally meet up to have a meal. There are chains in Brentwood that if you want a TOWIE experience will give it to you - this place is all about the food, the atmosphere and the hospitality. I hope they don't change!!

Called in the afternoon for a 7pm table for two no problem.Have ordered takeaway from here numerous times and was not disappointed with my experience here.The restaurant itself is quite small but lovely and cozy with a real homely feel to it.The service was great , the host very friendly and helpful and happy to answer any questions about the dishes we had.My partner and I had the mixed starter plus an extra portion of dumplings, all very well cooked and flavoured followed by the jungle curry and pad thai. Could not fault any of the food and will definitely be returning again.Would highly recommend.

Went for Sunday lunch - it was empty The lady came over, (I'm assuming the owner), and took our drinks order. Never did she smile or engage, I felt awkward and wished we had left then, but our meal was very tasty.I wont return as their as there is another good Thai restaurant in Brentwood where the service and food is very good.Being polite and courteous does not cost but it may cost your business being miserable.

We didn't really know what to expect as the restaurant is a little randomly located but this meal was absolutely lovely. The restaurant is very small which was great and the food was outstanding. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for it. I would highly recommend this place over close by chain thai restaurants!

Phoned Friday midday for a 6:30 seat for two... spot on.Plenty of nearby parking.Small restaurant but don't let that put you off from going and enjoying some very fresh, light and exceedingly tasty dishes.Our hosts were lovely people, service was prompt and with a smile.Portions were generous and really lovely. They have an excellent menu to choose from.Everything arrived piping hot,We were asked how we like our spices... no problem there and everything was cooked perfectly for us.We made the mistake of having a starters... to be honest two starters would have been enough but a starter and the main course had us filled... extras was packaged up for us to take away.We so enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning soon.Thank you "Fluffy Rice" for a nice experience.

We pre-ordered a delivery in the afternoon and after chasing it turned up half an hour late.

Ate at fluffy rice last night. The ambience is welcoming. Beach hut/ improvised style of decor works well. The food was good especially the sharing starter plate. Curries were good. The waitress was lovely and very helpful. Wine was good and a bottle of pino grigio was cheap. We came away thinking that although we had a good meal, it wasn't 'mind blowing'! Giggling squid's food is better presented but a lot more expensive. I'd rather be here, if I had to choose. One improvement they could make is laminate the menus or reprint some more. They were a bit stained and dog eared.

Ordered a takeaway from here last night. We’ve tried Giggling Squid and Lemongrass and neither come anywhere close to this place. Every dish was sublime. Recommend the lamb massaman curry, crying beef and prawn pad thai. Was so good I am ordering it again tonight. Faultless. Can’t imagine what it’s like to eat in there if the takeaway is this good. 10/10

I enjoyed a visit with 4 friends to this cute and friendly little restaurant. The food was very good, I especially enjoyed the quality of the salt and pepper squid starter. Personally I would have liked a little more heat to make it more like food I’ve had in Thailand but that was my own fault for not stressing that I would like extra spicy. Stick rice served in little bamboo pouches was lovely.

Met with friends before a trip to the theatre. Explained when booking that we were on a time limit and were advised to arrive a little earlier. Staff ensured we were served promptly and the food was absolutely fantastic. Able to enjoy a wonderful meal and no worries about missing the performance.

Great local Thai spot. Amazing tasting Thai food. Definitely try the Thai green and red curry. Can highly recommend this spot.

Ordered a take away for 8 friends. Nothing missing, everyone said lovely meal and we plan to do it again soon! Lovely staff on phone and delivery guy was nice. I am allergic to egg and gluten and normally when I order you can literally hear them rolling their eyes but the lady at fluffy rice was amazing. Said she would personally take the order into the kitchen and she was very informed on what ingredients were in each dish. Really refreshing. Planning a date night with my hubby now at the restaurant ❤️ thanks fluffy rice.

We turned up as an unbooked group of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) and the management did their best to accommodate us, which is fantastic as we were seated within 5 minutes.

This was our first visit having said for some time that we must go there to eat and we were not disappointed in any way . Although the restaurant is small it is really comfortable with a nice feel to it , a bit quirky décor and nik-naks that make it work . We have been to Thailand many times and enjoyed the food at Fluffy Rice , lovely vegetable tempura starters and nice mains (Beef Green curry and Vegetable Panang curry).

Food arrived very quickly to our home. We were really impressed with 90% of the order until we got to the soup. I retched at the taste of it, and my other 2 family members gagged at the smell. It was the most rancid tasting thing I've had in years. I have no idea if it was supposed to taste like this or not.

Quirky small restaurant. Great service, food and value. Always superb. Have been several times and never been disappointed.

Charming little restaurant. Food amazing and service is spot on. Restaurant was full and buzzing. The relaxed staff made the atmosphere just perfect. Highy recommended and can’t wait to go back.

All going well until they served my husband up prawns in his chicken phad thai...... He is shellfish intolerant and thankfully he did not have a bad reaction to it, so no ambulance was needed. To top it off the chicken in my massaman curry was so dry I had to send it back, if I had wanted dry chicken I would've cooked. I was told that they steam all the chicken for 3 hours and very sorry I did not like it. We were not charged for either meal and they replaced the phad thai and apologised.

The worst delivery ever! Really disappointed about the food . Smells horrible as well as tastes. Not worth for the money I paid at all! And after complain I didn’t get the refund. Never getting food from there again.

Tiny venue with big flavours. Doesn't take cards but who cares! Fantastic authentic Thai food at very reasonable prices.

We were recommended to try this and we weren’t disappointed. Ordered a selection of main dishes alongside fluffy rice mixed starters. Food was gorgeous, fresh, hot and everyone enjoyed it. The nicest Thai in town and will definitely try the restaurant next time.

Ordered a takeaway from here at the weekend, after being recommended by a friend. Can safely say we wasn't disappointed. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly with immense flavour. As a frequent traveller to Thailand with the family, I very rarely eat Thai food here in the UK, as it's normally targeted for it's western market, but this was very authentic and tasty.

Great little find in Brentwood, food was excellent and reasonably priced, good eat in selection. Restaurant is small but adds to the charm, service was good. Limited selection of wine and other alcohol but all priced well. Recommended, we will be returning. You can also order takeaway and delivery

Visited on Tuesday evening. Really good authentic menu. No alcohol licence but you can bring your own. Keeps the bill down. Small restaurant so I recommend booking. Will def order a take out as well soon. Lovely.

I was so excited when I saw this place open. We desperately need independent different restaurants in Brentwood and looking through the window it looked so cute and the decor is quirky and something more like Shoreditch. After reading the other reviews I'd hoped that they had got through teething problems and sorted out their service. Unfortunately not. We booked for 7pm and when we got there there were only 2 other tables seated. We sat for ages before we asked for drink orders and we'd byo'd gin so asked for tonic. It took 30mins and a number of reminders to get it. In the meantime another table had given up waiting and left. We'd ordered our starters and main course at the same time but it took 40 mins before our starters arrived. I think if they had been apologetic about this is would have been acceptable but it wasn't service with a smile or sorry. Food was pretty good but honestly the (lack of) service tainted our visit.

Good authentic Thai cuisine with a wide range of choice on the menu. The place is quite small and can seat approx 20 people at a time, I strongly recommend booking in advance. It doesn't have a liquor license and they let you BYOB. Speed of service could be a bit better. Would definitely go again though.

Good to try new restaurants, the food was pretty good, however, the service was poor. Waited over an hour and a half to be served.....Great for the restaurant that it is busy with takeaway orders but need to look after the customers in the restaurant to.

Really delicious lunch. Quick service. Beautifully presented. Veggie tempura and the green curry/rice from the lunch menu. Family run and would come back with our kids too. BYO. Hope this is a great success. Good luck!

This tiny restaurant is a great addition to Brentwood. Great decor and a little quirky, the owners certainly know what they are doing. The service was excellent and food was delicious, some of the best Thai food I have eaten in the UK. The only reason that I didn’t give this 5 stars was because I thought the portions were on the small side however some may argue that this is reflected in the price. The fact that you can BYO is a bonus and keeps the cost of the final bill down. We will definitely be returning!!!

Yummy food great service. Had a lovely pad thai chicken one and a prawn one and a milk shake and a coke. Reasonable price . Lovely venue 😁
