Great service, lovely location a delicious bacon, avocado and tomato toastie with fresh orange juice

Very pleasant setting but over crowded as there is nowhere nearby, over priced tea and stale, untoasted toastie with raw swede and one big lettuce leaf, lump of tomato. At least make it edible

Great coffee at this cafe. Had flat white + oat milk. Friendly and helpful staffs.

Perfect brunch/lunch spot for after our gallery visit. I went during winter and it was cozy, warm and the food was filling. It’s super close to the gallery and you can get there via the gallery to avoid rain. There are also bathrooms next to it which is usually needed after a gallery visit.

Their iced coffee to have in was very small and watery with granules in - and over £4! 😥

A good place for a coffee, meeting friends or eating before visiting the gallery, if that is your choice. Just enjoy a visit and the surrounding grounds and Dulwich Park

Lovely cafe in Dulwich village. Amazing range of cakes and bakes and great variety of drinks. Staff go above and beyond, Lauren was particularly lovely!

Nice food and surroundings. Being accused of not paying was something I find disgraceful and was treated in a very poor way. Would certainly think twice before going back The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Its lovely to be in this place, feeling very calm in the morning , had a lovely breakfast , Paige and Owen are nice waiters who have good customer service skill. Its nice to see Paige is training owen.

Met friends at the Dulwich Picture Gallery for lunch. Rather eclectic brunch style menu, but all food freshly cooked and good-sized portions. I had the American pancakes which are enormous andan Apple carrot and ginger, which was lovely. Nice Gallery too

The best cafe in London in my opinion. The manager Paige is the nicest person I've met. She makes me feel at home. Everyone that works there are so welcoming and lovely. I live the food and coffee. I couldn't recommend anywhere better.

Small cafe near the Dulwich Picture Gallery. There is a terrace. We had something to drink and eat cake. There is a covered walkway to the Picture Gallery shop.

Nice cafe, friendly staff. The soup of the day being spinach soup was delicious, and fresh mint tea was ok. Even though I've visited dulwich picture gallery a few times, I've not tried the café before to dine in as it is pricey for me.

I ordered a fresh mint tea and it arrived with the smallest quantity of mint in it. I basically paid £3.50 for warm water. It shouldn't be on the menu if the quality is so low. Not the first time I get a bad experience there so I won't be tempted again by its promity to the gallery.

Was persuaded to buy two brownies by an enthusiastic seller, but they were both dry and unpleasant. Also beware tiny flat whites. Nice setting of course, but overall disappointing:(

Very disappointing. Cold food, dry toast, squashed poached egg..... pretty poor really.

Very blah experience and service. The people working there seemed disinterested in serving the people sitting. Short staffed and the management found it difficult to manage the rushed crowd. The muffin was really nice. Rest everything is over priced, small portions. Take away better. Sad way to spend a weekend lunch.

Nice venue and was hopeful of a good experience. Coffee was nice. Other half's toastie was good. Lamington was dry and inedible, and so sent back. Service was passable.

Poor experience today . My husband, grandson and I ordered coffee, tea and toast following viewing of Rubén’s exhibition. Service very poor ! Staff rude particularly waitress wearing red t shirt . We felt most unwelcome in our local area . We will not return !!!

Nice little cafe located in Dulwich Picture Gallery - the world’s first purpose-built public art gallery. We came here to escape the afternoon sun and relax with a drink. We ordered an iced latte and an apple juice, and were both satisfied with our choices. Service was friendly and pretty efficient. All in all, no complaints and would happily come back here.

Good flat white for a pre or post exhibition caffeine fix.

Gone the days of good customer service... I struggled to understand the rudeness of the management when I enquired about how much longer my tea would take to arrive after over 20 minutes of waiting during a quiet period as 6 staff chatted indoors.

Nice food well presented and very tasty. My BLAT had well cooked bacon and a good slaver of avocado. Coffee is good as well as the other drinks. Friendly staff too.

We were at an exhibition here and stopped in for breakfast. My wife had Scott's Chorizo Scramble and I had the Eggs Benedict. Both really tasty and hit the spot. Nice friendly staff and atmosphere. Good music too.

Great healthy food options next to the brilliant Dulwich Picture Gallery. Compact menue but the chorizo hash the prawn and chickpea salad were great and reasonably priced. Great place to sit as well with outdoor, semi-Outdoor options.

Lovely spot for lunch or brunch after you’ve visited Dulwich Picture Gallery. Wide selection of drinks - I had an iced chai which was delicious. For food, I opted for the avocado on toast. The waiter and kitchen staff were more than happy to take an adjustment on the order from what it said on the menu (removing the feta). Really great food.

Have been going here for sometime but on Sunday 29/5/23 the food was terrible, ordered gluten free sandwich and toast & peanut butter and could not handle the bread as when you tried to pick it up the bread just crumbled,, the sandwich looked like eton mess, just horrible. Will not be going there again.

Busy cafe with great food. There is a system to leave your name rather than queue for a table and it’s not possible to reserve a table. The food was cooked to order so can take a while at busy times. Lovely salads and cakes. Well worth the wait.

Quelle belle ambiance, le samedi c'était très familial surtout la première journée de soleil de la saison. The lamington cake was superb, great texture, accompanied by à spiced chai, it was à memorable moment in the park just outside the restaurant.

Insanely overpriced for tiny portions of canteen like food. They left out ingredients too. The gallery garden is a 5 star location but is free to sit in so get your food and drinks somewhere else.

A real hidden gem in Dulwich. The food is great, the coffee is good, and the staff are always wonderfully friendly and professional. I love the feta and avocado on toast, and the eggs Benedict is also worth a try. They do a number of healthy options for brunch and it’s just a lovely place to spend a Sunday morning! Interiors are also great — big floor to ceiling windows and skylights mean it’s bright inside, and in the summer there’s outdoor seating too. Close to the park so easy to get to after a lovely walk.

Given the location I accept a little creative license in terms of pricing but two eggs Royale and two teas for £37 is absolutely ridiculous. The feeling of being taken for a ride was particularly evident when I recieved my chai latte in a small glass, not a mug, and a glass which was actually smaller than the one the tap water was served in. Good food and a great place to spend some time but the prices are exploiting the customers. I'll sadly not be going back.

My husband went today to your cafe for tea while waiting for a hospital appointment. He noticed other customers having a glass of water given on arrival at tables, no water was offered to him? Quite pleasant, too pricey for a tea, only debit cards accepted, no cash

Lovely soup with a (rather meagre) slice of sourdough. Strong coffee. Last time had halloumi sandwich which was spoiled by strong garlic butter (not mentioned in the description) on the bread. Will try to remember to ask for plain butter in future!

Best lunch - perfect superfood salad - very kind staff in kitchen and out front. Delicious.

I know that it’s Dulwich, but for £24 for three coffees, two muffins, one banana Bread a cookie, I’d expect something more that having it all served in paper cups and brown bags! Apparently the dishwasher is broken, if so reduce your prices to reflect the reduced service. Come on guys your game at these prices!

This is just a great cafe/restaurant. Great coffee great food and friendly people. Love it.

Some time this cafe is quite busy and hard to get a seat, but hang on in there. It’s the best soup of any cafe and the staff are simply fabulous. I love coming here for a ice cream and a potter around the gallery. Definitely worth a visit.

Overall poor experience relative to the extortionate prices. Location is beautiful next to the gallery but slow service lets it down. Overheard staff member joking to customers on another table that they add unnecessary elements to the dishes so they can "justify" high prices. At least they admit it.

We were lucky enough to visit here at the weekend and what a delight of a cafe.The staff were very attentive and the lady that took our order was very friendly and happy to make recommendations ( who we learned while chatting was the manageress) I ordered the avacado poached egg and feta on sour dough for myself while my daughter opted for the scrambled eggs .....the choices on the menu all sounded delicious. We both enjoyed our meals and the delicious coffees. We opted for the recommended carrot cake for desert and another coffee The carrot cake was beautiful. As it was such a sunny day we were in no hurry to leave our table in the sun and enjoyed a few Mimosas in the lovely surroundings of the park and gallery. The cafe was busy which to me is a sign of a good place to be. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Dulwich.

Bright airy cafe with nice views to the gallery and grounds. The flat white and carrot cake are always delicious and staff are helpful and friendly even if it’s busy. Recently tried the greenade which wasn’t too sweet or thick like smoothie/fresh juices sometimes are - would recommend it on a sunny day

The cafe is a really rare find, you'd think that since it's attached to a tourist place it would serve ok coffee and some not too special bits. This isn't the case for this establishment, the coffee is divine, the selection of food and snacks are ample and of great quality and while it can get busy ( make sure to book if you want lunch) the staff are great at keeping up with the rushes and always smiling. A great vibe and a great place for a coffee i drop in whenever i can.

Good food and a pleasant space with engaging staff. They've changed the menu so lots of avocado and sourdough but it was well done and we went back after visiting the gallery for tea and cakes. It's busy and popular.

In sunny weather, people used to be able to sit around at tables in the shade of the trees on the right side of the central path leading to the Gallery. These tables are now no longer in the shade but are bunched into a rectangle up against the cafe and fully in the sun. Apart from the discomfort of this, the change also takes away from the attraction of tables spread across that part of the lawn. This made the area more inviting and conversation easier. Talking to staff, it seems this change has been made by the cafe who don't want to serve customers too far away from the cafe itself. I think this is laziness on the café's part and makes one wonder who they run the cafe for - the staff or the customers. It seems like Flotsam & Jetsam may be giving the latter a flotsam & jetsam service.

First time I’ve been here as was visiting the gallery. Was very impressed with the quality of food and coffee and the service was outstanding. There’s a lot of places that overcharge for mediocre food but this isn’t one of them - the chorizo sandwich was great and every one of the people working there seemed happy to be there and knew what they were doing! I’ll be back, thank you.

A great hidden gem of a coffee shop in the heart of Dulwich. It is set in the gardens of the Dulwich Art Gallery and linked by a walkway. You do not have to go into the gallery to visit the coffee shop. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good with a small menu.

Went on a busy lunchtime and staff were so nice and helpful, moving things around to accommodate us and serving us with the delicious food that I was expecting, being familiar with the Wandsworth Common (original) branch. Yummy!!

Gail’s was closed so popped to the Gallery Cafe. I now realise why I always ignored it. It’s not terrible by any measure but the coffee was bland as was the cake. However top marks for the setting and atmosphere. It’s just lovely. So I would get your coffee at Gail’s and enjoy it in the Gallery gardens.

Went for a few hot drinks at the cafe today with their takeaway service during lockdown. The staff were very friendly especially the lady with long blonde hair, she recommended the carrot cake to me and it was delicious! Had the best latte I’ve had in a while and it was lovely to be out of the house and be able to sit under the umbrellas in the park 😊 Will definitely be back again!

Badly designed and overpriced (always the case with cafes in the suburbs) and not very polite staff. They needed an alternative design, something unique on par with the famous Dulwich Picture Gallery. It feels that the only purpose the new layout serves is to rip customers off with their high prices. Even cafes in central London are not that expensive. The whole area (one of the most affluent suburbs in the country) belongs to Dulwich Estate, a robust financially charity, which recently came under criticism from local businesses and residents over their management of properties! They don't need another overpriced cafe. Be different, be diverse and unique! I would not recommend it.The nearby Dulwich Park cafe is certainly much better with lovely and polite staff.
