Flippers in East Lindsey

We are a family of 4, 2x adults, 1x 12yr old, 1x 9yr old. We ordered 2x large fish and chips special which comes with a choice of cod or haddock, chips, mushy peas, bread and butter and tea or coffee, a jacket potato with beans and a steak pie special. We were brought 1 plate with 1 slice of bread and butter to share between the two fish specials. When I queried this I was told, "no that's for both of you, we have cut back." A quick glance at their menu told me that the price for bread and butter separately from a meal is 40p a time- therefore one slice of bread and butter=80p! The rest of our order arrived- the fish didn't taste fresh it tasted like cheap frozen whitefish rather than the cod we ordered but it was edible, the jacket potato and steak pie were fine but the ridiculous cost cutting and poor tasting fish have completely put me off returning.

Had the small fish and chip meal. Cost £5.95 for the small fish, chips and peas with coffee meal. Was average at best. Coffee was the cheaper variety. Service a little on the slow side. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

We visited Flippers today whilst visiting skegness. It was the first fish and chip shop we came across that was open and we definitely weren't disappointed!We only ordered a portion of chips each with curry sauce and some pineapple fritters. The portions were a very good size and the chips were very tasty! The pineapple fritters were so lovely too! There were 5 of us eating and it cost under £15 for us all. We will definitely be back!

Of to Skegness again next week.frist stop flippers for the excellent home made steak pie.Friendly staff and best meat pie in Skegness.

Had homemade steak pie with mash and veg.thought I'd have a change from fish and chips.The pie was lovely full of meat.nice rich gravey.would highly recommend.

Visited for the first time for a while. Sat outside, table didn't get cleaned. Ordered fish chips and mushy peas. Took a while for order to arrive. Chips were not their usual taste and the fish was mostly batter. Didn't enjoy it at all! Usually very good!

The person serving at the takeaway was rude and unhelpful, if you want to pay by card your order has to be over £10, and to top it all the chips were horrible, like the fat hadn’t been changed for weeks. Had to throw most of them away. Try any other chippy in Skegness but this one.

very clean cafe. nice hot food,best chips i have had. came here on sunday 8th march 2020.came as a family,at lunch time. great staff,very friendly. great price. fresh cook food. would diff go back

do not come here you must give way to push chairs as they have more rights than you do i have illness and disability i cannot just jump out of the way the lady who works there side with the person pushing the pushchair suddly everything you do is wrong she was forceful nasty and disparaging very un profesional

Went to flippers chippy.did normal meals as well.had homemade steak pie with mash and veg.pie was really lovely.would highly recommend.good service and friendly staff.

I was there today I had small fish chips and mushy peas bread and butter and a pot of tea for one it was to good for words fast prompt service value for money one complaint will the owners please install a fang in there as it gets hot keep up the great work and service

Come to Flippers regularly. Really nice staff who nothing is too much trouble. Always feel welcome at Flippers and the food is lovely. Everytime we come to Flippers it is always very clean and tables cleared very quickly. Food is very good value. Would highly recommend.

Cold food, tasted like pure grease!! Thought we would try somewhere new, and what a mistake that was. The staff were rude, especially who I’m assuming is the owner. No toilets, how can you run a cafe with no toilet.Do not waste your money here.

a very nice hot day so as look would have it had the chance of a day at good old Skegness and soon it was time for dinner so if possible i like to go were we bean before as i know what to expect just as before we found Flippers very very clean set out very good with two rows of tables 1 row down each side plenty leg room very nice staff food nice and fresh and brought to the table nice and hot i had Cod,Chips and Mushy Peas 2 rounds of bread and butter with a glass of orange drink

Sat inside watching Skegness walk by ,eating excellent Cod,chips and mushy peas! Good service, great food!

The fish and chips are very good, nicely cooked and good service, Would recommend them as there is so much choice in Skegness but these are well worth a visit

if you are looking for fish and chips in skegness there are so many it can be a bit of a lottery.....flippers is where you need to be....great food ....great staff....i had large fish chips peas/my wife had small fish chips peas..came with bread butter and two pots of tea for around£ 13.50....wonderful.....no lottery here.

My wife and I and the kids were over for a few days and stopped for lunch, everything was fine, the service and the food was good, but the visit was ruined by one person maoning from the moment he walked in the door - he sat at the table beside us.

Visited this restaurant for lunch, ordered the fish & chips special, nice chip, peas fine.

Walked past it a few times looked nice and modern sit in or out side it was very good the batter was really nice and it was freshly cooked and paid The same as a takeaway at other chip shops

been there the last 3 time now, 1st thing in the morning for breakfast , all a can say it was the best i have add in skeg,thats why i keep going back..keep it up

Visited here for lunch and all had the food off the specials menu.Got it after 10 min wait and everyone said it was okay not memorable but decent and filled an hole. Staff where pleasant enough and place was clean,prices okay.

Had the greedy gorger breakfast (less than £5) enormous. Bigger than most by far. Beautiful ingredients all cooked fresh. Lovely service. Cannot recommend enough

When we are in Skeggy we always visit and sit inside. All staff are very friendly and to me will go the extra mile to make sure you make the most of your visit. They have lots of offers on show. We always have the small fish & chip special, which is just right for us. Will visit again when back in Skeggy.

Came in with a buggy. Got told can’t get past with that there. Would have been nice to say sorry is it ok to put that outside as not space. Then brought kids drinks out and slammed them down on table. Service at counter was good and food served reasonably quick. Clean food was good. Just need to smile.

Not a very nice chip shop at all, food was very poor quality but expensive for what we got. There are many much better fish & chip shops nearby.

Fancied a nice piece of haddock with mushy peas. Really hot day, sat outside and ordered inside. Fish cooked from fresh. When it arrived it was piping hot. It was absolutely delicious and the mushy peas were excellent! Recommended!

Dropped in for lunch while on a day trip to Skegness, and they where open earlier than some of the others. We ordered fish and chips I had large and my partner had small, though when they came there wasn't a lot of difference. The food came freshly cooked. The chips were nice and the fish was fresh and white encased in a nice crispy batter. With it came bread and spread and mushy peas. the staff were polite and friendly. Overall a pleasant dining experience..

Had a lovely meal at Flippers, very clean and comfy Plentiful amounts of food... good home cooked style food for a takeaway/ restaurant reasonably priced.. proper Ketchup would be nicer but overall...9/10 I’d go back again

we went to flippers for lunch it was a nice place not large but big enough.i had small fish,chips,peas,tea.my husband had plate chips.the small fish,chips was a big fish plenty chips,peas.there was plenty chips on the plate chips.it was not bad price.the place was nice clean,comfortable staff were polite,friendly.will go again

out at Skegness with my support worker we spent some hours though it rained all the time in and round the shops (ect) we went and had our dinner hear and found it very clean food was great and plenty of it well set out and we have bean hear before they have quite a good menu to choose from and it is cook fresh so it is nice and hot wen you get it

I came to this restaurant 6:45 it look like they just shut the restaurant I asked the bloke in chipshop if he could open back up for 10 - 15 of use to sit and have fish and chips and he said " no sorry that side is closed chip shop still open " we wanted to sit for a meal they lost out in a lot money think it was rude

Wasn't expecting great food but how wrong was I. Went to two fish n chips places, this one and another one much higher up on trip advisor, both really good but this one is superb. Definitely recommend. Decent prices too. Photo is the small special.

I was made to feel most welcome here small fish and chips mushy peas and bread and butter and a pot of tea £5,95 I think it was it was certainly great value for money will deffinatly be coming again

We just popped in , didn't expect much but the service and food were spot on ,very cheap meal with a pot of real coffee for two ,everybody in the cafe seemed to be tucking in with gusto ,nice find

We visited for the second tie and it was as good as the last time. It was not very busy but we enjoyed the food. Staff were friendly.

What can I say apart from quality!! My family and I visited flippers one lunchtime during the half term holidays. It was busy but still very very clean with very attentive staff. We all had fish and chips (large for me and the wife) small for the 2 kids. The cod was fantastic, very tasty and beautifully white. The chips and curry sauce, to die for too!! The staff are brilliant with the kids too. If you are ever in skegness be sure to go to flippers for your food, you won’t be disappointed

We have visited here a few times always fantastic food cooked to perfection also very clean . Staff are friendly and welcoming would recommend to anyone !

We usually visit another Fish/Chip shop close to Flippers but decided to give this place a try. We sat inside and chose what we wanted and went to counter to order. I had small cod, chips, peas, bread & butter & pot of tea, my husband had the larger version. All staff very friendly and food was served really hot & it was most enjoyable. We would visit Flippers again if we were in the area.

Friendly staff, we had the special of the day pie mash and veg, the pie was full of steak really good value. The seating outside was good or you could sit inside on such a warm day we sat out. This is somewhere to visit if your in Skegness.

Nipped in here for lunch and had the deals off the specials board.I had the sausage which was a little bland but okay, wife had fishcake which was nice.Portian size was okay and staff where friendly and premises clean.

Yo, mi esposa y el chico (2 1 / 2) visitamos Skegness, mientras se aloja en el Butlins durante unos días. Siempre nos han pescado y patatas fritas cuando su estancia en la costa, así que nos fuimos buscando un lugar para sentarse. Fue el final de mes y comenzó a llover muy fuertemente, decidimos caminar por "Chip callejón" y vimos unas aletas, tenía una buena reseña! Era precioso y limpio, nada en las mesas de nuestros clientes y tenían una silla alta si necesitábamos uno! Yo y mi esposa pasamos el bacalao y patatas fritas con salsa de guisantes blandos y un curry como un extra, el chico tenía pastel de pescado y patatas fritas. Todas las patatas fritas eran bonitas y frescas, el pastel de pescado era agradable y caliente y sabía preciosa y no había nada a la izquierda al final de la comida. Ambos Peces eran bonitas y grandes, masa crujiente, no sogginess en la de debajo, y el pescado estaba delicioso! El curry era, como debe ser, y la única crítica es que los guisantes no eran tan gruesas como me hubiera gustado, pero todavía sabía agradable! Sin duda lo recomiendo, si necesitábamos un lugar donde ir mientras en casa!

Not knowing which chippy to choose from, im glad we picked out Flippers, friendly service from the start. The fish and chips were lovely, would definitely recommend.

Mi marido y yo estuvimos aquí dos veces el pasado fin de semana. La última vez que mi marido tenía una cena de carne asada, que se sirve en un gran plato lleno de carne, verduras y patatas bien cocido. Tuve la ensalada de queso con patatas fritas en el lateral. Todas eran tan fresco y estaba buenísimo. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar no sólo por la comida, pero por el gran servicio que te dan.

Went here for my dinner with my friends great warm welcome from a nice gent ordered the fish chips with drinks. Had a good funny chat talk with the owners of the restrant I will bring ice cream next time haha lovly place lovely staff expecially the gent thank you

Called in here after sample a few beers round Skegness. Got the 7.99 special. COD, Chips, mushy peas , buttered bread and a lovely cup of tea. The guy serving said they would be lovely and he wasn't wrong. Thank you

Mi esposa y yo fuimos allí el domingo pasado (17 de julio), y aunque estaba cerca de la hora de cierre, nos dieron la bienvenida. Teníamos su especial (pescado, patatas fritas, un lado, pan y mantequilla y una bebida) no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo y era cocinado a la perfección.

Went in not long ago now got welcomed in with a smile even seeing the young man was busy placed my order on till quick and simple the gentleman made my bill cheaper to what me and my friend could eat not pushed use to pay more and leave food we paid for what we can eat I watched the man think his name is John take my order put my fish in done my drinks brought it to table served more people running around plated my meal and brought it to me and said is that all making sure we had everything best service better gent took over the business than the previews people fish was beautifull clean plates will come again !!

Siempre vale la pena visitar el pescado y las patatas fritas siempre son cocinados y servidos en un alto nivel. Las porciones tienden a ser más grande que muchos de sus rivales. Sentarse fuera y disfrutar de su almuerzo.

Skeg en día para otro viaje y probamos una vez más después de que unas aletas decepcionados en nuestra primera visita (pescado duro y se esta vez!) incluso peor! Bien, tienes que entender no como negatividad y lleva mucho para conseguir mi vuelta pero viniendo de Grimsby sabemos lo bueno es todo! abadejo Abadejo fresco es blanco, no olor de algo más que de ozono y tiene una textura entre la vía láctea copos cuando fritos. No plagado de bits dentro de un marrón y un olor apariencia yellowy pesado! Muy pobre y fresco! Pero por encima de todo, tener a nuestra hija con nosotros visitando un restaurante 65 plazas en 2016. NO HAY BAÑO! Es aún legal? Pensé que era una ley para este tipo de cosas? Metro en Hull con capacidad para 20 personas extrañas es bajo amenaza de cierre porque no dispone de una instalación de 65 asientos olvídate! Realmente necesitas tu juego! Dicho esto, el personal muy bien!

Comimos aquí durante un descanso en Skegness - como solemos hacer - la comida era perfecta, real patatas fritas! El servicio había cambiado un poco desde nuestra última visita ahora puedes pedir en el mostrador de la orden en lugar de su orden de ser llevado por una camarera. La comida se entregó con una sonrisa. Recomiendo vivamente aletas si buen pescado y patatas fritas es lo que quieres.

He visitado este lugar hoy y solo era porque había oído que había nuevos dueños, sabía que el dueño anterior y no estaba impresionado con la comida que se sirve o cómo él lo dirigía. Pero las personas que tomaron este han hecho para mejor. Al entrar me sirvió un caballero joven decir veinte años que fue educado. Él era freír y pasó a ser que sirve al mismo tiempo. Sólo pedimos patatas y curry y una para mi chico joven fishcake en este tiempo fue a instalarse nosotros hasta nuestro té de la tarde. Las patatas fritas, no me puedo quejar. Estaba buenísimo y el fishcake estaba bien. Nos dieron un menú en dejar ya que seguro que volveremos de nuevo. He visto los peces en el decodificador y en mi próxima visita voy a pedir uno. Muchas gracias los nuevos propietarios para apagar esta lugar y servir mejor cosas de los dueños anteriores.

I came here with the family the food was shocking it was eating a jar of cold baby food the staff was more miserable then the grinch and shown no intrest in us she was rude and snappy the manager dident look like he knew what he was doing the prices are dear for what you actually getting

If you like your food cold with hair in it then eat here, if not avoid at all costs. Poor unfriendly service, forgotten items, we will never come back.

After a family trip to skegness,we decided to end the day with a trip to the fish and chip shop before the journey home.From the moment we walked in the door,we were made to feel unwelcome.The waitress on duty had an absolute stinking attitude,everything seemed like to much bother.everything we asked for on the menu was a case of "cant do that or dont have that".the mrs is vegetarian,so when she asked for a veggie burger,she was curtley told she couldnt have it because it was cooked in beef fat???,so why have it on the menu.after the meal my son asked if he could use a toilet.the waitress started screeching"we dont have one you'll have to use the public ones".considering he's only nine i thought that was a bit inconsiderate.therefore i would hate to think were the staff go to the toilet during work hours,and where they wash there hands.anyway upon leaving the waitress showed interest,as we paid,probably in anticipation of a tip.shame she didnt get one.far better places in the immediate vercinity.avoid

Visitamos para el almuerzo con nuestra 21 mes mi nieta, no hay sillas altas disponibles para que ella tenía que sentarme en mi rodilla ya no podía llegar a la mesa. pedir y entonces nos dimos cuenta que aceptan tarjeta así que tenía que ir a buscar un cajero automático.
