We were the first in, and a very pleasant young man organised US pints and told us what available for lunch. ( One arm was decorated in monochrome tattooing ! ). Un lugar peculiar pero buena comida y un ambiente agradable. Llegamos a 5:15 en un sábado por la tarde. Llegamos temprano para nuestra reserva asumiendo como era sábado y era un hotel, el bar estará abierto. El lugar estaba cerrada herméticamente. Nos sentamos en el coche y en el golpe de 5:30 moto de movilidad como desaparecía aparcado a la vuelta de la esquina y entramos en el hotel. En el momento en que nos bajamos del coche y nos dieron dentro del bar tenía cuatro personas dentro esperando a ser servido.

Acabamos de pasar un fin de semana fantástico aquí con mi familia. Helen y su familia fueron fantásticos, atento, buena compañía. Las camas eran muy cómodas y nuevos . Cogimos tres habitaciones . La cena que teníamos era de primera clase, así como el desayuno ... Gracias.

Sábado 13 de junio, después de visitar el priorato. Decidimos ir a tomar algo en el pub del pueblo. La Fleur de Lilys es una muy buena cerveza y casa - sidrería. Pasamos una hora aquí sentados afuera en el jardín de la cerveza en el sol. Mi amigo bebiendo su gin tonic, mi marido su 'Doombar' bitter y tenía una pinta fría encantadora de 'sidra plana Harry's, que tiene una patada como una mula si tienes más de un par de pintas.

Christmas Days with the sons was a treat; although the licensees have changed since then, so I'm not sure if it is still available ! However, during "normal" times, a pint (or two) on the way from Yeoviil is very welcome !

Esperábamos haber sido tomada que hubiera un nuevo arrendamiento de la vida, pero por desgracia no. Está bien para el desayuno en un sábado si no quieres nada elegante, pero en general se siente Son antipáticos y anticuado. Es muy triste ya que no hay ningún otro lugar en el pueblo, y lo hacen un muy buen punto focal si algo de dinero y esfuerzo invertido en él.

Comida aquí solía ser muy bueno.

Una vez más, nuestras vacaciones no estaría completa sin visitar este maravilloso país pub con su encanto del viejo mundo.

It's really hard to review this pub, being that in the past it's given good service. Recently though, I'm afraid things have gone from bad to worse. In a village that lacks any real infrastructure regarding the service industry, the local patrons only have this establishment to dine in.I think, that might be part of the problem, lack of imagination & prudent investment leaves the Fluer lacking in all areas; to make the business pay it's now open for breakfast, what was served up was lacking in anything, taste, cold & the visual appeal not there at all, the lad serving gave the impression he'd rather be working at McDonalds ! The problem of having a cook rather than a Chef, belies the other problem here, good chefs demand a good wage, good wages mean sound investment, this I know is an ongoing problem.

The Fleur De Lys Public House in Stok Sub-Hamden, is a old pub with a real country feel about it. It decor is typical local country pub.

We visited with a group as a lunch stop on the way to the west country. Warm welcome and excellent good value food. Just off the A303 and so much better than stopping at a chain style café. Highly recommended.
