Gone are the times of asking what you want.. you can have what we have got. Chip shops used to provide what the customer wanted, regardless of waiting times. Gone is the service. Just materialism ego & greed in its place. Sad times that we now lead.

This review replaces one that I left many years ago, was a three star. I'm very pleased to say that the rating is now a brilliant 5 stars! I go here probably once a month and always get a friendly welcome into the shop from Athina and Stav. The food is consistently good, with the Greek menu on a wednesday a real highlight. The halloumi bites are superb and the chicken kebabs are really good quality, not fatty or greasy. They serve their food in recyclable packaging, which shows a real respect for the local environment. They offer delivery service to the local area, a real help when you have those lazy days when a chippy is the perfect tea! An absolute must visit, prices are good when compared with other chippys, and the food is absolutely worth it! Recommended!

Great food and great owners. We carried out gas work outside the shop, owners kept checking on us to see how we were getting on etc. We decided to have dinner here on a break, and me and my colleagues would highly recommend coming here. 10/10

Superb! Fresh fish. Great menu choices. Gyro on a Weds. They even deliver the food in special boxes to keep the food warm and fresh! Say goodbye to soggy batter!

The chip portion is stingy, if you are used to a medium - that all other chip shops give, better to go for a large. The owner has a bit of an ego. However the girls serving are really friendly and the food tastes good

Cod and chips. Popped in while passing on the canal. Glad we did; the staff were efficient and helpful, and while waiting for my cod to be fried, had a lovely chat with a lady who I took to be the owner or manager. She was very friendly and kept me updated regarding my order. Great food; batter was crisp, and the fish was moist and flakey. Ordered one regular chips, which was plenty for two of us. Thoroughly recommend this great chippy. Look forward to coming again

We had really good fish & chips from here, the battery was light and crispy and golden, not soggy or over done . Even though we ordered small fish and chips , portions were generous lots of things on the menu

Just had chicken meat and chips,best I have had locally, very large portions and perfectly cooked mint mayo stunning will definitely use again and only £3 delivery to great glen absolute bargin

1st time we have ordered the take away, fish and chips was excellent the chicken cyros was loaded with chicken and a lovely fresh salad. Will be ordering again. Oh yeah my dog enjoyed the sausage

We're lucky to have this first class fish&chip shop in our village. The food is always fresh and tasty, portion size is perfect and service is friendly. I would particularly recommend the gyros on Wednesdays.

Very disappointed with the portions paid £4 for this box of large chips along side large fish savloy peas and curry sauce last night. Prices have shot through the roof since covid restrictions have lifted spent just under £14 last night not worth the money. Feel sorry for the young staff with having to put up with the portion controlling owner. You know if she serves you you deffo won't get your moneys worth. Will never return there will use oadby chip shop next time.

I was treated to a super of large cod, chips & curry sauce last saturday and I can honestly say, it was the best I've ever had, reminding me of the feast I'd had of my first treat of fish & chips as a child! Thoroughly recommend!

Best fish and chips in the area. Had to queue for 20 minutes as it was so busy but the queue was socially distanced. Fish and chips were great and very tasty. Staff were friendly and efficient with quick service. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great Gluten free Mondays, what more can I say

❌Prices expensive, as don't represent the quality. Serve reasonable chip portions. ❌Fish dry, had lots pre fried, but understand for reasons to turn over queue quickly due to Covid procedures? But not worth the price £5+ for regular fillet. Hygiene rating certificate on wall dated 2013. I've addressed this with local authorities, as their system appeared also lagging! 5 issued 2019, just didn't update their systems. If a chippy does kebabs, it's probably what they're best at. Avoid the fish.

Absolutely love this chippy, used to go to kibworth but when it changed hands it wasn't the same, wouldn't go anywhere else best chippy by far food is amazing staff are so friendly

Loved this chippy for far too long, always been and remains excellent.

Had lunchtime meal deal, quite pricey in comparison to other chippies. Fish was nice, chips tasted like cardboard. I think they had been warmed up in the fryer again but they were definitely stale.
