Flaxmoss chippy is always very busy evertime I go there..the 3 Chinese ladies there are always very busy and very helpful and quick with all the orders..just wish they took card or phone payments...cash only though..food is always top quality and plenty of it aswell..👍👍

Extremely slow service and ignorant staff. Basic food, would not recommend

We arrived around 7ish on Monday 28th November, it was quite busy inside with people having orders to pick up that they phoned in and people ready to order then and there(me). I wasn't sure who had ordered yet but I went to the front counter and I was met with a lady that asked if i was picking up an order, I said no and that I was ready to order. I placed our order and I have to say the attention to detail is top notch, they write all the orders down on post it notes and I was worried she may of missed something so I anxiously watched the orders being made at a professional yet fast pace. You can tell these women who work there have perfected their craft, they are very organised and look like they never catch themselves behind with an order. Fresh chips were put in as the other batch was about to run out. I lucked out and got fresh out the fryer chips with our orders. As I watched everyone's orders get given out, it was my turn to watch ours get prepared and it was exactly as I said it. Portion sizes are generous and the chips are cooked through, I've had chips with a raw snap to them before but these were so soft and lovely. We got recommended this place and it did not dissapoint. My order was: Large Chips w/Gravy, Large Sausage seperately wrapped up, Cheese and Onion pie w/mushy peas, curry sauce and chips.. It came to £10.30, I'd say that's a bargain. You got to go here.

Great chippy, selling Chinese and fish and chips shop stuff. Always busy, so I'd call and order ahead.

Phoned in an order 45minutes before arriving. Had to wait a further 30 minutes after arriving on time. Got home only to find they had missed one of the dishes so I enjoyed a plate of boiled rice while the others ate theirs. To be fair the food was really good, but the incredibly long wait and missed food really puts me off going again.

Ordered from here for the first time, I must say it’s the nicest chippy I have ever had!! The food was extremely fresh and tasty by far the best will definitely be ordering again soon. Cash only makes it a little difficult but it’s worth it!!

Spot on. Can't really go wrong with this place. Maybe waiting time would bother you but that's because people keep coming bk, so it is what it is.

£5.90 for fish and chips, portion size reduced significantly and dishes are inconsistent, I live near by, but can no longer support this business. I understand that prices are increasing, but when you increase the price and provide less at the same time, that is a poor decision and people will not pay more for less.

I now only get Chinese from here. Food is amazing, always hot and never get our order wrong. Brilliant prices for the quality you get!

Fantastic food and service and great prices

We wanted fish and chips on our visit to Haslingden and Flaxmoss Chippy was a great find. The staff were helpful and friendly despite being very busy. There was plenty of choice on the menu and overall our food was excellent.

Joke of a place to be honest! Foods alright but not worth the wait at all. Go to one of the other 12 Chinese take aways in the 2 mile radius instead. We rang up and was told to collect an hour later... that seems fine, happy with that. So my pregnant girlfriend goes to collect it and ends up stood in the cold for over an hour outside waiting for them to acknowledge her and finish making the food!!! And by this point half of the stuff we ordered on the phone is now out of stock so we never even got the meal we asked for! I will never use this take away ever again. Absolutely Appalling service!

As well as Chinese dishes available. Great tasty food, not greasy, and decent portions. Accepts advance orders by phone. Doesn’t deliver, but suspect they’re too busy to offer that service!

Always lovely. One of the best chippy's in the area. Had food from them almost every Friday lunchtime for the last 3-4 years and it's never been less than lovely. Edit. Went again after they re-opened after full lockdown and they are still cooking some lovely fish and chips. Nice precautions too with the plastic shields.

Must be the best Chinese chippy I've ever visited, the food is second to none, you might wait a while for your order but it's well worth it.

Fish & chips were marvelous but they left the battered sausage off our order.

It's a few years since we used this chippy but we'll be going more often for a treat. Delicious, fresh, moist, tender cod (don't ask for Haddock - they don't sell it) coated in light, crispy batter. Chips equally good. (My personal preference would be for them a bit more crispy but they're fresh & tasty so still good). AND ...they come in paper, not polystyrene trays. (If they could use paper cups for peas and gravy it'd be perfect 😊)

Always great food at reasonable prices. They also serve the whole menu at lunch time and have parking just across the road.

Gave this place another chance after a terrible experience a few months ago as we visit family in Helmshore. Sorry to say nothing has changed!! Phoned at 5pm (opening time) was told 20 minutes. As we drove down Helmshore Rd customers were queued along the foot path. Had to join the queue as everyone in front of me had also telephoned their order. I had to wait another 30 minutes. A man came in and gave Alan his order wrote on a scrap of paper and waited outside. 15 minutes later Alan knocked on the window and told him his food was ready. Everyone who had been stood in the queue looked at me flabbergasted!! I questioned this as it was very unfair soon after my food appeared. But after spending over £28 two out of the 3 main meals were inedible as it had been laced with hot pepper!!! 😡

We called one lunchtime as we were passing we just fancied fish and chips but it was'nt great pale chips greasy fish cooked in a funny tasting oil not a good experience at all.

Lovely little Oriental Chippy. Fairly large menu and prices are reasonable. Would give 5 stars if it had a card-reader, but it's cash only. Otherwise can't fault it.

This is our local Chinese fish and chip shop. The fish is cooked to order and we have found that one serving feeds 2 of us. The curry has the typical flavor, portions are good. There is always a line here when I go. I went at 5pm this time and there was only one other person there It must be good as it is never empty.

The fish and chips were awful the fish had been kept warm and it was dried out would never go again.

Both Chinese and English foods are great, great value and plenty of it, fish and chips is delicious, one of the best around, I love the Chinese food here as well, the salt and pepper chicken fillets are gorgeous, I’m there all the time when I’m in the area.

The food at flaxmoss is lovely but the organisation is shocking. I ring my order through every week 1 hour before I want it and I still have to wait 20 minutes in the chippy. Well I say in the chippy most of the time I end up at the back of the queue stood on the pavement in the pouring rain. The staff never acknowledge the fact that you have had to wait much longer than necessary they don’t even say thank you when you pay. Here we have a problem of maximum profit and least expenditure in other words GREED!!!
