Flamm restaurant in Spelthorne

Was visiting family and found the hidden gem of a restaurant that deserves to be busier. Delicious food, lovely big portions, friendly service. Will be coming back.

Very disappointed with our meal here. I have been before and had great food, in fact we went for my daughter’s silver wedding and had a great evening. This time it was awful. It was really cold in there, maybe it was the position of the table we were given. I had grilled sea bass which was over cooked and very crispy round the edges! The vegetables were so hard I could barely cut them and the whole meal was just warm. My husband had the lamb shank which was also barely warm and was swimming in so much sauce that the mash potato was just a sloppy mess. We had booked for 13 of us to go there for my husbands birthday in March but due to the bad meal we had we have cancelled the booking.

My friends chose Flamm for my birthday meal although I had not been to the restaurant before. The booking came with a cosy table. The group can be very picky and the veggies in the group particularly so. Even the most picky were very happy indeed. Great appetizers suggested by the house - meze sharing platter - arrived promptly and were delicious. I was impressed that the staff refilled the bread baskets three times without being asked ! Great service was provided throughout by attentive staff. The staff were friendly and humorous. Main courses were delicious including some Ottoman classics. A small birthday cake arrived unsolicited as well. Convivial atmosphere and gracious staff. Genuine Ottoman/Turkish cuisine that made the visit memorable. Cannot imagine how the restaurant got any bad reviews on this evidence. impressive and will be back.

As soon as we walked inside, it didn’t smell right (like nasty broken toilet pipes smell or something like that); Waitress was friendly and smiling, but we weren’t sure, if it’s a good idea to wear leggins and a crop top; Placed an order and went upstairs to wash hands before we could get to the food, and it was freezing cold upstairs, as it wasn’t heated at all! Tap in the ladies toilet didn’t work, so couldn’t wash hands and the grey flooring they have was mega slippery, probably been mopped with oily chemicals, not sure. So when we got to the food part, the portion was so tiny (we ordered sharing platter for two people and there wasn’t much to eat at all! Meat was delicious though, however, vegetables that came on a side didn’t look presentable at all, again it was one tiny plate for 2 people, and cauliflower was rotten. Tortillas that were served with meat and rice weren’t cooked at all! We enjoyed the starter of nice bread with white sauce and olives! Liked the interior of the place but wouldn’t visit again, sorry.

Friendly welcome by male staff. We had glass of wine which was good and bread that’s all positives. Our main sharing dish was rather awful, dry, overcooked, tasteless, very little meat, meal for one rather than for 2. Rice was cold, watery vegetables. They add service charge which we asked to remove it. Unpleasant and rather arrogant Indian woman show no respect to customer. We left hungry. Place is overpriced for amount of food you get. Don’t recomend

I chose this restaurant based on reviews for a evening meal whilst on business. It was a Monday evening so was quiet, but there were a few people in. Food was very tasty and service was swift. I have had better similar cuisine but it was certainly pleasant enough. The couple who seem to own/run the restaurant were polite and attentive.

This restaurant provides a wide range of authentic Turkish cuisine and typical Turkish hospitality and service. It is also relatively quiet compared to many other eateries in Staines. We had a most enjoyable meal and highly recommend it for a casual night out. Ian leProvost

We were visiting the area and have never been here before but what a find. It was a Sunday evening and not busy so we had a choice of table. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Drinks came promptly and the menu was extensive. I ordered the aubergine starter and Lasagna for a main course, both were excellent. My husband had the calamari and the lamb casserole which he said was also good. If you are in the area give this lovely restaurant a try.

What a disgrace!!! And a rip off. We ordered a delivery the platter for 2. We ordered 3 of these and food arrived very small position couldn't feed one person. The rice and vegetables so plain, bread dry. Horrible. Never to order again

I had been here when it first opened a few years ago (it was amazing) and kept meaning to come back, however I wish I hadn’t and should have maybe taken note of the bad reviews! When we arrived I did notice a few tables with food piled up and not cleared away, and considering the restaurant was only about 30% this didn’t seem right, or look nice. The waitress was ok if not exactly over friendly. The food itself was terrible. My Chicken Beyti looked like it had been in a microwave and had absolutely no flavour. My friend’s CENTIK SPECIAL D-DFO that apparently had grilled cubes of lamb, chicken and kofte was also without taste and looked like it had been thrown together. One of our party left nearly all there main course but when the waitress came back she just cleared up the plates and didn’t say anything, which was again poor as clearly there was something wrong with the meal. This restaurant really had lost its way with the food and service. Sadly I (and my friends) will definitely not be returning again!

Party of approx 24 booked for lunch we had pre ordered the service diabolical over hour wait for starters, a lot of main courses warm not hot served on cold plates, some of group had to help bring food to tables, will never go there again.

Visited with family today delighted with the delicious food and excellent customer service. Drinks were excellent as well.

The lady who served us on the day had no manners unfortunately, no staff like this should be at the front of the restaurant with this type of customer service. My friend have ordered a Mojito which was in the cocktail menu and she gave one without alcohol, which is fine, mistakes happen but she had the audacity to tell her “you ordered it wrong” when we questioned it when she never said no alcohol. She asked for it to be replaced, never happened and no apologies. Her starter was out of date, the yogurt was fizzy, which is not acceptable for any restaurant, again no apologies, didn’t offer any replacements. we are very dissapointed and trading standards will be involved.

Awful!!! Ordered a delivery the food arrived cold and the main vegetable moussaka was drowning in grease see photos of the “main meal” that was £12.90 plus delivery the halloumi was obviously pre-cooked and left on the side for a while too

I booked a last minute table for 30 to celebrate my 50th birthday at Flamm (one week’s notice). I chose the £19.50 2 course menu for ease and spoke to Oscar (owner) on the phone and in person. He gave advice on table lay out, asked when I would like food to be brought out, collating pre- orders for the meal to help the evening run smoothly. I asked whether we could bring a cake. which was no problem. He asked questions about what I wanted for the evening - as we were such a large group together, I hadn’t considered certain aspects about how I wanted the evening to unfold. On the day we were greeted warmly by Barbara. What a star she was! She took control of the whole evening which ran like clockwork. The staff were super friendly and the food delicious! It can put promptly so we were all able to eat each course together. There was such a calm and friendly atmosphere and all my guests were delighted with the food, service, decor and ambience. When my cake appeared they had added a super sparkler candle (as opposed to my crappy ones) and played happy birthday. Such a lovely touch and really made my day feel so special. It was also my brother’s birthday so they brought out a cake with the sparkler and again sang happy birthday. I was offered a drink on the house to celebrate my birthday. As we left, Barbara brought chairs out for my elderly and frail parents to sit on whilst they awaited the car. The whole experience was truly wonderful and made my entry into my 50s really spectacular. Special thanks to Oscar and Barbara for their help in making my birthday meal such a memorable occasion and it far exceeded my expectations.

Shocking! Shame on you, Flamm. How could you overcook and leave dry ..succulent fish and chicken on a skewer … fry delicious potatoes in oil that has been overused and acrid…. and present it on a plate with cccompanying vegetables that have not been seasoned...
