A great afternoon watching the football and eating lunch, nice family vibe as well as attentive staff, look forward to returning!

Excellent dining experience! My partner and I stayed iver night at the Premier Inn next door. We stayed for dinner and breakfast the following day. Lovely atmosphere and the waitresses were super friendly. The food was delicious and good portion sizes. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a lovely meal out x Thank you white horse, we shall be visiting again soon! :)

This is perfect for family’s and solo people very welcoming barry and Charlotte are very accommodating and very pleasant even with helping on task not relevant to there job role excellent standard to up hold these two need a payrise

Theu do a Great breakfast, it's very fast and friendly service. Also get a cheeky fried bread if you play your cards right ✅️

I was here for 2 weeks whilst working a night shift, unfortunately I couldn’t get a beer at 0630 however we did compromise at fried bread with my morning fry up 😂😂 great food, and great staff, top marks.

This was our first visit as we were staying in the Premier Inn next door for a couple of nights, so we can only comment on the post-refurbished pub, only a few days since it re-opened. The decor was lovely though, and accessibility was excellent for my wife who uses a wheelchair, including a sizeable accessible toilet. Good food and great service, from Sophie on Saturday afternoon when we and our family came in for drinks, and from Charlotte on Sunday evening when me and my wife had dinner. I'm not a vegetarian but I loved the mushroom, cheese and garlic tart with the Sunday roast trimmings.

Amazing place to go for a meal! Food is delicious, service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere in here is very welcoming and enjoyable. Great spot for a quick meal or a family dinner. I would recommend for solo trips, dates and families!

We have dined here a number of times. It has recently been refurbished and the food, staff and service are impeccable. It has a large outdoor seating area, sky sports tv's, 2 sets of toilets and a good sized car park. Just pop your reg in the console indoors and you're good to go. We recommend this pub for couples, large groups and kids.

Fancied a Sunday lunch, so we popped down. Unfortunately, the pub closed for a refurb. We spoke to a man, who I presume was the manager. I asked if the menu was still the same, and he told me it was, which we're happy about as the food is beautiful. He told us it is re-opening on Wednesday. From what I saw it looks lovely. Looking forward to popping in at some point this week. The garden looks lovely too. The climbing frame has gone, but there's lots of nice benches and seating in place. Let's hope we get some summer so people can use it.

We visit the White Horse quite often as a family for meals, in general they've been satisfactory for the price for the past few years, but more recently we’ve noticed a change. Il start with many of the tables having reservation signs but even when we’ve spent a few hours there they haven’t been used, so seating can be limited. They do seem to be switching from seat yourself to being seated by staff now though but this is hit and miss, if a staff member is at the point to greet people. There are some lovely staff who take pride in their work and are friendly towards customers, there are one or two who are a little scatty, they don’t seem to pay full attention, make mistakes and aren’t good at hiding their displeasure if you ask them to correct anything, they can make it difficult when ordering food if you want anything changed. Their food has generally been good for the price, and we rarely make use of offers so it’s not just that, general meal prices are good but recently the quality has changed somewhat and food can be different temperatures or not cooked as requested. We are not a family who like to send food back so on recent visits we’ve not finished our plates, when previously they’d be returned totally finished. At this weeks visit we found the reservation signs on many tables but managed to find one left that could sit more than 2 (3 of us). We ordered drinks and one had to be taken back, there was a brown ring in the bottom of the glass and the person drinking it said it tasted strange, it was changed without a problem. We ordered food, meals we had all had there previously and unfortunately on this occasion we had an issue with them all. Fries were given instead of chips, not a big problem but they wasn’t eaten. Steak was requested cooked med/well which became a habit there because previously well done has been served charcoaled, med/well usually comes out well done, possibly because of the skillet, but this steak was med/rare at best and couldn’t be chewed or eaten and the onions went to water. The one person in our party who usually eats everything and anything didn’t finish their chick mix meal due to different temperatures of the food, some going stone cold while others were burning hot, this has been an issue that’s arisen here recently, food will feel hot to touch, ready to eat but have left us with tongue burns after biting into something, but if you leave the meal to ‘cool off’ it goes cold before you can finish, I’m not an expert in a restaurant kitchen to understand why, possibly it’s due whatever is keeping food hot until it’s served (being too hot or possibly the foods been there too long). So this most recent visit wasn’t the best but we will probably go there again as it’s became our ‘go to’ for non special family meals, I do hope it will improve again, hence the 3 stars.

Food was absolutely awful,we ordered the turkey roast which was a Bernard Matthews turkey breast Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding and literally a dessert spoon full of instant mashed potato,the staff were very short handed and only 1 was serving who was clearly very busy whilst the other one was trying to re stock the glasses, over all very disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food definitely not an experience to repeat

The food was amazing the staff were really friendly and helpful I would recommend the hunter’s chicken it was really tasty and good value. All in all we had a really good night out.

We saw on Facebook that there was a new menu, so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed. It was very busy but the staff still gave 100% friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I had the lamb flatbread, and my partner had a rib and chicken combo. Highly recommend. Our friends had different food to us and were also impressed with their meals. Next time I will leave room for a dessert. We will all be back soon

Praise where praise is due on Friday evening i took my father in law and husband for a meal, my father in law must be one of the fussiest people to please when it comes to dining out. My father in law ordered his usual gammon which he eats every where he goes, he sat quietly and cleared his plate he sat back and said I am completely amazed that the quality of food and service was exceptional he observed the manager and his wife and there team and commented how polite and professional they were he also commented that the level of service and the quality of food would of been like dining in a 5* restaurant if the brewery invested some money in the establishment and make it more appealing. Cearly the staff deserve 5* despite dealing with 2* surroundings. I hope greene king will read this and realise with great staff and great surroundings the pub can only go from strength to strength. We also thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the professionalism of the staff. Keep up the great work.

We have not been here in a few months because our meal was not so good last time but we fancied a change as soon as we entered the pub the bar staff were friendly and most helpful he advised me on what wine to have and it was chilled just right and it was in a wine bucket which kept it cool. I ordered the meal and we sat by the playground exit and the children were going out to play so we moved table and the bar man moved table for us when the food came it was hot and sizzling on the skillet it was perfect and the cost was very reasonable. We will be coming back again it has improved 100% thanks

I would like to say a massive thank you to Dave and the team , after a hard morning at my moms funeral we made our way to the white horse to celebrate her life with family and friends where we had booked the pub restaurant, we were greeted by the staff who I can only describe as sincere and welcoming , the food we had asked for was just amazing , and my friends and family constantly commented on the quality of the food laid on for us was to the highest standard I have ever tasted . The staff were on hand every second we was there , polite and genuinely sincere in the way all the guests were treated , I can honestly say that the white horse made our day a special day in honour of our mother and words can not thank them enough. I truly believe that the staff there will go out of there way to give the best possible experience they can and I hope that this is reflected to the head office who can take note that the managers of there brand are the backbone of there success, without these caring managers and there wonderful staff they would have nothing . So again thank you dave and your exceptional team for making the 7th March a very special day in honour of our mother .

The white horse is a great pub with fab staff. The Wednesday quiz is one of the highlights of our week too. Haven't tried the food but plenty of people seem to enjoy it

So sad, this used to be a lovely local pub that welcomed everyone with a smile. 1) Under 18's now only allowed in bottom dining area, so if a parent wishes to play pool with their son/daughter for example, it's now not allowed! 2) Oh, if you bring family in with a dog, you're no longer welcome as under 18 not allowed in bar, dogs not allowed in restaurant - you can sit on bench outside with smokers weather permitting, or with smaller kids the play area outside. 3) Music used to play each evening, even free to choose tunes early Friday evenings, it was lovely to see families gathering after school/work - it's no longer playing or even on to use - but they do have sport - adults only. 4) The new gaffer never really spoke and now he's in the kitchen as he can't get a chef after the last one left! Can't comment on food - but tables and pub needs a good clean. 5) Quiz night is still on of a Wednesday - it was isolated to dining area as it 'was' too busy with music playing in bar and not everyone wanted quiz night.
