Came from Uber Eats after ordering from time to time. Such a great meal and service was just as good. The manager is great. Do not hesitate to visit if you are considering, as I will definitely come again soon. -Jacob

I had a deeply disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. I discovered a long hair embedded in the beef burger patty I ordered. This was not only disgusting but concerning, especially as I was serving this food to my children. I promptly brought this issue to the attention of the person I believe to be the owner. Instead of addressing my concern with the seriousness it deserved, he initially denied the problem altogether. Even when I showed him the hair coming out of the patty, he deflected blame onto the supplier and refused to take responsibility for the incident. After much insistence on my part, he finally refunded the cost of the burger. However, his attitude was dismissive and disrespectful throughout the entire interaction. As a customer, I expect the establishment to take ownership of such issues and to respond with empathy and professionalism, especially when it involves the health and safety of their patrons. While I appreciate the refund, the owner's lack of accountability and poor customer service have left a lasting negative impression. I hope that necessary actions will be taken to address these concerns and improve the overall hygiene and customer service standards of this restaurant.

Great dining experience, always making sure we’re good and stand up personable people, that are easy to talk to. Price of the food is almost too good to be true given the top quality product they have. Special mention to their grilled chicken, once you try it you won’t look anywhere else for grilled chicken.

My experience at five lads goodmayes was amazing. The customer service was 10/10. The food was ready faster than most places I order from which is a plus as time is the key to whether or not a customer will place an order or not so excellent job at that. Now the food….. the food was amazing, it was fresh, tender and juicy. The drinks menu is perfect as there is an excellent range of drinks. Even their milk cake are soooo good. This restaurant is definitely my favourite on the high road. Shout out to AJ for looking after us every time, he plays a big part as to why this restaurant is my favourite !!!!!

I pop into Five Lads at least once a week to treat myself, usually ordering a boneless quarter or half grilled chicken with potato wedges. The food is always spot on and for the price, you really can’t go wrong. The staff are warm and welcoming, particularly AJ. He always makes sure my order is prepared swiftly, just the way I like it. Good food, cooked well, 5/5 but a bit too expensive, should be a little cheaper since its standard/normal food. Side note, staff are always nice and everything, and not to get anyone in trouble but while i was eating with the missus, the younger staff were swearing and stuff a loud, not a big deal for me but kinda ruins the atmosphere, wouldn't bring missus or want my younger siblings there probably. Next time I'll probably take food home unless I'm just there with the lads

I ordered from Five Lads Goodmayes via Uber Eats, and it was a very disappointing experience. The food arrived leaking because saucy items were packed in cardboard boxes, which clearly wasn’t suitable. To make things worse, the chicken was severely undercooked—when we pressed it between our thumbs, it was pink inside, and there was almost blood-like juice coming out of it. Despite this, the restaurant told us, “that’s how it should be,” which was shocking. When we called the restaurant to raise our concerns, the person on the phone kept giving us excuses about why the food could have been the way it was, rather than accepting what we were telling them. Even though they were closed to the public, the person answering the phone was still inside the shop and refused to come to a resolution with us. Terrible packaging, unsafe food, and very poor customer service. I wouldn’t order from here again.

Ordered via uber eats. The chicken arrived under cooked and raw pink inside. Called the restaurant to complain and they didn't take accountability and said other customers haven't complained to them can't take it seriously. The food Wasn't packed properley and came leaking with the bag ripped. Luckily we spotted the pink chicken before catching salmonella

I enjoyed the rasher smash burger with a large side order of peri chips. It was much better than the chicken wings, and the regular lamb burger. The staff are friendly and welcoming, although giving a little more attention to customers would improve my rating.

Both of them were incredibly polite, attentive, and efficient. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was delicious, but it was their wonderful customer service that stood out the most. They worked seamlessly as a team, and their positive energy was contagious. NEVER WAITED AS LONG IN MY LIFE. Went in here at 7.10pm and ordered a half chicken with peri chips. There was literally 6 people in the restaurant, and a few of them had already been served. 30 minutes passes and not one sign of any food, guy in kitchen seems to be only worried about takeaway orders (very strange when there are literally customers sitting starving.) Manager appears from kitchen to deal with complaint, tells kitchen to prioritise these complaint orders above the people sitting waiting. Such an absolute joke by the way, just completely ignored the diners. FORTY FIVE MINUTES PASS - I ask the lady serving “can you tell me how long my order is gonna be?” Returns 2 minutes later telling me it will be “five or ten minutes.” No apology or acknowledgment of the wait. 5 minutes pass I throw the receipt on the table and leave. Never waited so long for food in my life. Absolute joke.

I placed this order a little while ago. I spoke to the colleague at Five lads immediately once the order had been taken through ubereats. She informed me it will be cancelled and I will get a refund. Little did I know they cancelled it and stated that they had already started making the food just to make a little extra cash. After speaking to Ubereats they informed me the restaurant informed them they had already started the order. The manager is very rude, his response is to speak to Uber when they can’t admit the fault from their side. Never again!!! So I basically got charged for food which I never received. Don’t trust these people!

I called to make an order for collection and was told to hold as he was taking someone’s order. I was left on the call for more than 10mins hearing the staff having conversations with others. I then hang up and tried calling back countless times with no answer. I then decided to visit the shop and saw there were no customers. The food was dry and the chips were soggy. I liked this shop before but won’t be returning.

One of my worst experiences on uber, they changed the time 3 times took ages to make the order, kids had to go bed they deliver 45 mins late absolute shocking. I won't be ordering again.

The food was absolutely yum. Everything was on point and the smash burger is too good and can't forget the lemon and herb sauce.

Bunch of moody kids running the place, appalling service. Instead of standing there talking they should serve the food to their customers instead of waiting for it to get cold and then getting complaints. How hard is to cook wedges? These guys apparently burnt them and then made us wait another 15 mins whilst the burger was already eaten. Won’t be coming back here in a hurry that’s for sure.

I went with my family and being honest the service was unexpectedly bad. I need to ask for the tissues and asked for the cutlery by myself after receiving the food which is not the problem but the guys could have inform easily if we need anything else or not. Burgers were so so. The chicken burger was not good at all as the pattey was hard.

Generally eat here and enjoy their food but second time in a row this has happened. I order 2 box meals make the effort to go in and order take away, come home and my strips are missing. Service is so poor too staff barely pay any attention.

Went to five lads with my family and have to say service was great so was the food. Really enjoyed the food, the young brother who works there told us how to get 10% off by joining five lads. Quick and easy just had to scan a QR code and name and number thats it, so was happy with that. The only issue I found at this place was the smell in the bathroom. Overall : 8.5/10

I've never not had a satisfying and filling Meal from here. Always reliable. On this occasion I went and they had missed my strips, I called and they were happy to replace and rewarded me with an extra item. The staff are nice and friendly. Love their generous portions of chips too.

Fortunately, this issue has been addressed, and the spice levels are now aligned with expectations. It prompts the question of how well the order sections are managed and the attention to detail exercised in the preparation and dispatch of each order. The food, especially the Chicken Fillet Burger and the new Smash Rasher Burger, was tasty. While the wings didn't quite hit the spot for me, my friends liked them, so it's probably just personal preference. Also, big thanks to Aminah for being patient and providing excellent service, especially since we had a large group of more than 20 people. The staff's accommodating attitude made your meal even better. All in all, it was a fantastic dining experience.

I usually do not write reviews. But I have to say, five lads is one of the nicest places to eat in East London. Me and my mate ordered rasher smash burger. Amazingly, cooked. I would like to say a huge thank you to, the hostess and adnan (chef) for their magnificent service!

Went to Five Lads in the late evening around 10pm of which there were a few other families there too to our surprise! Even though it would close at 11pm. We ordered the loaded box of which we weren’t disappointed, the burgers were nice and fresh and had a high quality feel to them. The loaded box also came with a drink and side of choice, all for £9.99 which is pretty decent too. Will definitely recommend coming here if you’re in the area and feel peckish and it will certainly fill you up.

Had lamb chops and Peri chips with banana milkshake, the entire meal was SPOT ON also the service from Amina was also wonderful, she constantly checked on the customers and made sure we had a good time. My girlfriend had barbecue chicken with coleslaw and strawberry milkshake, and again, SPOT ON Definitely worth my next visit

I have visited this place on 3 occasions. The standard of the food has been excellent, service has been exceptional. A family friendly place as we are a family of 5 (3 young kids). Price is average/reasonable. A special mention to Maisha who has provided us with an exceptional service from the moment we walked in. If you do visit, then reach out to her as she is very attentive, smiley and polite.

I popped into this cosy little restaurant and I am so glad to have made the discovery of how beautiful their food is. Their burgers, particularly their smash burger, are honestly out of this world. Plus, the atmosphere was super comfortable, the service makes you feel as though you’re in the comfort of your own home, especially the two young gents named Hussain and Abdullah. I came and ate at fivelads on saturday 22nd 2023 at around 7pm, they had extraordinary customer service, the staff were extremely nice especially the hussain at the front, i asked for his name especially for this review, and another named maisha who took my order and was extremely helpful and recommended stuff for me to try. Food was cooked to perfection. I will 100% be coming back.

I love this place especially due to the new smash burger it was so exquisite and bursting with flavour. I particularly liked one young man working at the front who had great customer service and amazing social skills. I saw how hardworking he was and I would come back just to receive that kind of customer service again

Just ordered from here for the first time, was extremely impressed with the quality and flavour of my meal (loaded box). The chicken tasted fresh and was hot, the fries were crispy and not greasy, the food was delivered quickly and packaged very nicely. Felt like a much healthier meal than some of the overly processed and fried stuff you’d expect from a takeaway. Great prices also. Overall, I a fantastic experience and really enjoyed my food! Thank you. I’ll definitely be returning in future (love the name of this restaurant too lol)
