Five Guys Brighton Marina in Brighton and Hove

Sara was lovely, she made our day with my fiends earlier. I can’t think of a better customer service like this anywhere. The food as well was perfect.

Opening hours wrong or unable to put up a note. Tried at half 10 and 11am on a Saturday and they were closed . Normally good quality when I have been.

I'm not sure if this will be a practical or emotional review. I'm fairly sure it won't be helpful though! The main hook when Five Guys exploded onto the global food scene of hipster smashburgers seemed to be 'Free peanuts (monkey nuts) while you wait and you can throw the shells on the floor and brown bags full of greasy chips. Well, you don't maintain fingers with the elegance of a concert hall pianist fiddling about with nuts all day, and I'm one of those people who can eat a burger and not have to automatically have a side of fries, so I think their two biggest viral selling points meant absolutely nothing to me. If choosing an accompanying side dish, proper onion rings are my top tier go to (not the breaded reformed onion mush ones). I say this because I could not give a monkeys about fries. Not chip shop chunky ones, not skin-on skinny ones, not hand cut, organic, single origin, triple cooked in fresh beef dripping or deep fried in peanut oil blacker than my soul. Not even when they throw 'an extra' scoop into your brown paper bag. We're such suckers for a freebie, 'ooh, I got nice twinkle and a smile with my extra portion' etc. It's just a chopped up potato! Free fries? Don't care! . But burgers? Boy, I didn't know exactly how much I was missing out, leaving my first Five Guys experience until 2025! Sure, I love a good hipster burger. Now, It doesn't even have to be hand ground by emo virgins who don't know any Avril Lavigne lyrics and think it was River Phoenix in Point Break with Keanu, but it kinda does need to be smashed onto a diner-style flatplate, all nice and moist and juicy with some crusty, crinkly, nobbly bits at the edges. If you're serving a burger in a bun, then I shouldn't need cutlery since the bun is the ideal table-to-mouth burger transportation vehicle. The right size bun for the patty. Resilient enough to hold everything together and not disintegrating into mush halfway through yet soft enough to squish a bit so it all fits in your mouth. Easy right? Well, not really. And not for the cheap, high street and late night fast food prices Britain got used to as standard. Making slightly smaller patties, but automatically serving doubles is a concept that makes so much sense and benefits both the business and the customer. Twenty years ago you'd have been burned as a witch for suggesting such a thing. Glad we got over that. a little thing that triggered me the rest of the day was 'free fillings'. They're not free, they'd better be included in the price I just paid for the one main component of that one main food item that you cook in your restaurant that sells one thing. It benefits the business every time a punter forgets to include mayo or slice of tomato. all those 2p blobs of ketchup add up-saves you money over the course of a year. But if I'm paying you over a tenner for a burger I'm about to eat with my hands there needs to be more than meat and cheese inside that bun! I had a cheeseburger, (I didn't know about the automatic double thing, pleasant surprise), it came with a bun without anyone even mentioning that and for my 'free extra fillings' I chose mustard (English), mayo, pickles (gherkin), fresh onion (meaning raw, not grilled or fried) and lettuce. It cost £11 something and it was absolutely delicious. Having paid the exact same amount in money last week at a different 'hipster burger' chain in town for almost the same cheeseburger (no English mustard) - that came automatically as a single patty in a melty bun. Tasty, for sure, but how can I be satisfied again when a single patty and no English mustard costs me the same as a double patty and a good slather of Colmans? I can't, can I? Well, good. Marina Five Guys is closer than North Street anyway. Forget about free fries, they're nothing special. Don't pay £6 for a milkshake with bits in, I know a dude with a van and a clown horn. Don't take your kids, they won't appreciate it. Go Pay a Guy (or five) a tenner for a burger, you'll be back quicker than Arnie. So will I so I'll probably see you there!

Burger had no sauce! No salad! You’re better off going to mc Donald’s. Not getting anything from here again. Absolute rubbish

What can I say about the place? The food will put hair on your chest, so ladies, be careful. Proper meal even with small fries, so be prepped to be walking out of there stuffed fingering your belly button and licking your lips. Get the cajun fries if you don't you're just wasting your time. The whole place was clean as a whistle which was a pleasant surprise and the coke machine was fantastic, like the old school american diner places. Pretty sure the staff though they were at a funeral though they were as miserable as me going to a boot sale. Be prepared to take out a pay day loan my meal was 26 quid. That's more expensive than the ivy. Bit ridiculous really

Had the best experience at Five Guys, all thanks to Sarah! She was super welcoming, made me feel right at home, and had the energy of someone who just discovered their secret superpower—serving up smiles and the best burger in town. The food was spot on, hit the cravings dead on. If you ever need someone to brighten your day and serve you a perfect burger, Sarah’s your girl! 11/10

We had such a lovely experience at Five Guys, all thanks to Sarah. She was so friendly and welcoming, and really made us feel at ease. She recommended a milkshake that was absolutely perfect and a new firm fave—we loved it! The food was fresh and delicious, and her great attitude just made everything better. First of all, great customer service when you walk in and the manager's name is ''Scott'' very nice guy and very helpful, and of course a nice atmosphere, I ordered the double cheeseburger and got some peri chips, holy crap the burger was so full of flavour and really nice and the bun was tasty, as for the chips they were the best chips I have had in a while they were baked with the skins, and did I mention you get free peanuts while you wait FREE! and lastly I tried one of their milkshakes, so thick and full of flavour unlike your cheap knock off milkshake made from dead skin and cardboard at Mcdonalds, this shake was delicious and so filling, I would definitely come again I highly recommend, worth the price? yes, get your arse down to five guys..

The food is yummy as always, I'm a big fan of the cajun fries ❤️ and the atmosphere is bright and clean, really gives you a comfortable dining area vibe! The best part of the experience is "Scott" , the staff who served us, was freaking fantastic and super friendly!!! We are at the hospital as our baby is in TMBU, we sometimes come at night for food after a long day in the hospital and Sarah at 5 GUYS is the sweetest most amazing person who has made our journey a litte better, she is 5 star top class costumer service! Thank you Sara! Food is lovely!🙌🙌🥳🥳

I get the quality. But the taste and price was not that much better than other places. The fact that the toppings can’t be controlled and you can end up with a heavy dose of something you only wanted a little of. The fries were nice smelling but just salty. KFC or Nando’s fries better for fries with coatings. The milk shake did feel premium. What didn’t feel good was the exhaust cooking smells coming off the griddle and into the restaurant. Not something I wanted from a premium chain. First and last time I’ll try. The price is a con. In all honesty. A well made Burger King whopper is just as good as this.

Was enjoying my meal until I noticed some sharp hard plastic in my milkshake in my throat. Managed to get it out but be more careful you’ll hurt people.

Cancelled on line as when I called Five Guys restaurant after 35 minutes later than requested delivery they told me they did not have my order. So cancelled order on line , went elsewhere as had guests for dinner. Then delivery arrived very late!!

This place was absolute chaos, not a clean table in sight, service was miserable at best, it didn't even seem that busy, food was served in a takeaway bag looking like it had been thrown around like a rugby ball, chips everywhere..... The burger was really tasty tho

We came in early on a Friday evening, we ordered three burgers, Fries & milkshakes. The staff were absolutely amazing; professional, friendly and very efficient. The food was cooked perfectly, absolutely delicious burgers and salty, crispy fries. We've been to several Five Guys locations now and this is by far the best service we've recieved!

Dreadful branch. Walk in and you are met by the stench of old cooking oil and grease. Staff are miserable. Food overpriced for a basic burger. Place usually empty for good reason. Invisible management. Will close soon when people get fed up of the rottweiler staff and daft prices.

Had the most amazing experience at Five Guys Brighton Marina, drove from Eastbourne to get the famous burger on New Year’s Day and was met with the most friendly and welcoming person called Sarah. The customer service was some of the best I’ve experienced and I travel the world as a sports commentator. Sarah recommended a shake she makes that I’ve never tried before it was amazing (I will now call this the Sarah special). We left with a smile and a full belly, she really is a star and stands out as the most positive experience to date at a food establishment. We had an amazing and outstanding experience, thank you Sarah see you next time!

Really tasty food, tried Five Guys for the first time and I loved it. The hot dogs and fries were amazing, and the drink selection is vast. Would definitely go back for more! They have bathrooms as well which were nice and clean.

Great food. Very close to genuine American Burgers. Tasty fries too. A little over priced. Milkshakes thick but flavours not mixed that well..and again over priced. Free soda refills though!

Ordered via Deliveroo. Fries and burgers were massively overcooked. You could actually peel off the burned meat. Shouldn’t have been sent out , very disappointing.

we traveled all the way from Leeds to visit Brighton, and our Five Guys experience made it absolutely worth it! Sarah provided outstanding service with a superb response to every request, making us feel truly welcomed. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Highly recommend this location – we'll definitely be back next time we're in town…. 10/10

Better burgers than McDonald's but at twice the price, and with the sane fast food chain atmosphere

We stopped by for a meal after the cinema and had a great experience thanks to Aiden. He was very friendly and made the visit even more enjoyable by talking with us about horror films. His great attitude and excellent customer service really stood out and made our meal memorable. The food was also amazing - we would definitely come here again!

To be honest, I think the burgers at Five Guys are the best flavoured and moist burgers anywhere. They are never overcooked or dry. It's a little pricey, but you pay for great quality. The fresh milk shakes are better than Mc D. I treat myself once a fortnight. Thank you, Five Guys. Keep up the good work 👏 🙌 👍

Undercooked fries and patty. I have been eating five guys years before even come to UK and this is 1st time ever had undercooked food. Didn't eat hardly anything. Considering price pretty poor service and this was at 11.30am so def not busy

Following the delivery drivers location for 20 minutes being a 2 min drive away my food arrived cold.

Went yesterday to order a takeaway and brought my dog along. I walked in, dog in arms, making it clear I'm getting a takeaway, and that there's nowhere to tie the dog outside or is there any signage. While I understand their no-dogs policy, the way the staff communicated it was disappointing. Charging towards me in numbers, they were passive-aggressive, with a snotty and unwelcoming attitude, which made the whole experience uncomfortable. "No dogs allowed, I can't take your order" (arms crossed, drowning) - no problem, but what's with the attitude? I shared my feedback with the manager, who was professional enough, but her response—"sorry you feel that way"—felt dismissive. Her intentions were good, she seemed unaware of how they came across and seemed unconcrrned. Unfortunately, intention alone isn't enough when it comes to customer service. Moreover, I go to my local in Wembley Park and Park Royal, and they handle this situation like pros...so there is a benchmark for consistent good service.

The place to come for beef burgers, fries and refill drinks! Brilliant place for kids and they also have beef dogs for those who would like to try something other than burgers.

I had the whole place to myself, which is better than McDonald's which is jam packed. Nice location. The fries are excellent but a bit salty. I like the fact that they're made with real potatoes, with the skins still on, and not out of some chemical mush as at MacDonalds. I'll be back.

Food was great, great service but a trifle expensive. The quantity of fries were disappointing considering the hype over the quantity of them. Drinks, although free refills are on the top end of the price scale. I would have another burger there for sure, but would give the fries and drink a miss. Way too expensive. Sadly underwhelming, but the people working there were excellent.

Me and my boyfriend have been going here for years now and have never had a bad meal!! The service is spot on every time and Sarah never fails to putt a smile on our faces! She is an absolute credit to the business, so polite, always smiling and wanting to make sure we are happy which we always are! We always get a fries between us as you’re given enough to feed a small family😂 we always clear the bag there is never anything left and we leave feeling ready for a nap 💤

Very overrated. I had a hotdog and fries, with a peanut butter milkshake. You get loads of fries, the milkshake was good, but the hotdog was rubbish. Staff were very friendly and welcoming

The chips were little bits rather than actual fries, and they were put into a cup where they became soggy. The burger was okay but definitely not worth the price. We paid £75 for four burgers, fries, and a drink for a family of four. I can think of a few places where I could have not only paid a lot less but also enjoyed it a lot more. Sadly, I wouldn't ever eat here again.

forgot all sauces for fries including even sauce one burger, my burger arrived completely soggy due to far too many jalapenos being put on and fries were luke warm. expensive dog food

Rude staff, they dont allowed my puppy dog , just wanted to give order and wait outside…I am a marina resident and never ever come back again, and try my best to tell everyone on the marina…you have to teach your staff how to communicate with people…

Very mediocre considering price _ double cheeseburger fries and beer £23.65 total. Burger was overcooked and bun was squashed so much it was dough. Bacon had no flavour and fries were so salty I left them. The sheer Brooklyn brewery was really chemical tasting and not refreshing at all. I don't get the hype for that price you would expect to be blown away not wondering if you will ever go back. Sorry but I had better burgers at bk or McDonald's

Not bad. Cheeseburger at just over 11 quid is pricey. It's a very nice burger but not worth that. The chips are shockingly bad (dry and bland) and far too many tossed into the bag at the bottom. It's nice but it's just not worth paying so much for burgers.

They let me order and pay for my food wirh my dog, stand and wait for my food with my dog and then when they gave me my food said I would have to eat outside. In 5 degrees with an icy wind. Either get a sign on the door, or give me the opportunity to go somewhere else that does allow dogs. £22 to eat a burger and fries, in the cold. With the food getting cold before I could finish it.

Good American style burger joint. Expensive but a treat. Can help yourself to monkey nuts. Don't have a vegan option as such apart from a veggie mushroom burger thing. Kids enjoyed it.

I used to love this place, but 2 burgers, 1 chips, 2 drinks is £40?!? That's insane for a fast food burger place. Whilst it is tasty, and the service was ok, it's just not worth the price. This branch appeared to be well run, tidy and good service in a great location overlooking Brighton Marina.

In the words of Samuel L Jackson, "That is a tasty burger!" . Huge portions of fries, friendly staff but seemed overworked but they did an amazing job. Prices are higher than MaccyD but the quality shows its worth. Great milkshakes, truly a 10 dollar shake!

It's a fairly standard five guys slightly overpriced okay burgers but is fairly speedy if you need a quick meal.

Visited the Brighton Marina branch on 6th September. Mistook Cafe Rouge for Five Guys as the signs are both red (had left my glasses in the car). Once I finally got to Five Guys I jokingly told the assistant my silly mistake as I didn't have my glasses. Instead of just listening and smiling she immediately offered me a menu card that I would be able to read better. That is what I call a high quality customer focused service; recognising a customers need and meeting it. The assistant is called Alise. Burger was great as always.

Hats off to the member of staff who served us on 02/09/23 at around 21:30. We ordered a milkshake (biscoff/salted caramel/pb) and he made sure there was no traces of bacon after seeing my wife wearing a headscarf. Very accommodating and pleased to see. 👍🏼

Often very good. The fries are sometimes a bit greasy but the burgers are ALWAYS great.

Had a burger (half pounder I'm guessing) chips and a milkshake. It was amazing. Probably the best milkshake and burger ever. The chips were pretty good as well. Only thing I would say is it's a bit pricey.. I'm not saying it should be anywhere near Golden Arches prices, obviously. Because there is no comparison. But a little cheaper and I would certainly go more often.

Admittedly I would never come here for myself but my granddaughter twisted my arm. She enjoyed her food but I think it's expensive for a burger joint. There is no vegetarian choices available.

Typical Five Guys, was pretty quiet when we went despite the marina being busy. Other restaurants were full so chose this option, was more expensive than I remembered.
