Lovely little place. I had their chicken curry which was delicious. The portion size was generous. At £8, it’s great value. The Vietnamese coffee is a treat also. Highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious, Vietnamese owned restaurant, the service is always considerate and the staff are very sweet. Back home (South East Asia) we'd always skip over to Vietnam and have pho, this place reminds me of home, need I say more?? I will always highly recommend this place and keep having my pho there!

pho is so so plain, just like water. I love how we can choose different sizes of bowls for the pho, but i don't think the soup is cooked with any onions in it which is such a basic ingredien not to miss and can't go wrong. The people and services are lovely tho. The chai tea is pretty good.

Really lovely guy fresh makes the bahn mi in front on you. Matcha latte was also on point. Great price and traditional asian/vietnamese style to the cafe.

The food was delicious and felt very authentic. The staff were super friendly. The place gets a bit warm when it's a hot day outside (but that's why you should order the Vietnamese iced coffee!)

Service is fine but food is just plain bad. Ordered a salad which was just mixed leaves with one thin sliced tofu puff dressed with... Salt water?!? Not like anything I've eaten in Vietnam or any other Vietnamese restaurant. I guess the pho must be ok based on the other reviews but stay away from the salad, it's inedible.

I think this review is long overdue: I have been coming here for maybe 5 years? on and off, and I have not once been disappointed in the food quality and the people running it. Lovely owner and such a great family run business! I always get the beef curry with some extra spice! - Being a family run business, I am sure there are times that it gets very busy, but the food has never been too late, even when it was jam packed. The quality, flavor, and "homemade" comfort feeling in the food is unmatched. Really a great place to come for a chilled meal, or just a quick stop by on a rainy day for some food that not only fills your belly, but warms your soul too. All of this combined with the affordability of the food had led me to regularly pick Milk no Sugar over any restaurant/street food place in Brighton for a very long time! Definitely would recommend them!

My favorite food is Vietnamese, and I have it at least once a week. However, this one was the least flavorful I have ever tried. I attempted to improve the taste of my food with some salt, chili oil, and soy sauce, but nothing worked. When I asked why it was so tasteless, they sarcastically replied that it had been their way of doing things for 20 years. Their shop was almost empty, and no one came in during my stay at the restaurant. Perhaps this is the reason. If they change their recipe and improve their customer service, they might attract more customers instead of persisting with a poor method for 20 years. Seriously, it was very disappointing.

I had a Pho with a mix of beef, pork and chicken. The food was delicious. We can choose the size of the bowl. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant :)

Well what can I say.. the curry had absolutely no taste just mild curry power. When I eat Vietnamese food I expect explosions in my mouth. Very unfriendly staff and not interested in you. Will not return!

This is a solid staple I have been coming back to for years. Food is more than decent: wholesome honest hearty. Lovely team. It’s kind of a mid way between a cafe and a restaurant, canteen vibe, and always seems to have a mix of workers lunch and more social / relaxed patrons. Anyhow, I like this place. Go eat there.

It was on the day we were due to leave Brighton, after the recent long weekend, Tuesday 2nd April, that we decided to stop in here for lunch. Over the weekend we had passed this place several times thinking it was another coffee place. How wrong we were! My wife has a gluten, dairy and egg free diet and we had been looking for Asian food. How happy we were to discover this place is serving Vietnamese food! The young man greeting us was able to tell us what was in each food item on the menu and he was very helpful and friendly. The diet issue was not a problem and my wife was able to enjoy a starter of Summer rolls, and a Vietnamese salad for mains, which she said was one of the best she had ever had. Mine was salt and pepper squid and a delicious Vietnamese chicken curry with rice. Seating is informal and comfortable, and the food seems to be homemade and cooked to order. We enjoyed watching the big steaming bowls of food being brought out, and the staff seemed relaxed and unflustered. Everything was incredibly fresh and perfect! Clearly many other people have discovered this gem, as it filled up quickly each time tables were vacated. We really loved it! Definitely a go-to place for us when we are next visiting Brighton! To the restaurant: Do not change a thing! It was really lovely. Thank you

We ordered a vegan Bahn Mi and Dirty Chai. The Dirty Chai was amazing and loved the Bahn Mi too. Only comment I would say is it took a while for the food to come out, but I would say we visited during peak business time. Loved the vibes here though.

The coffee shop for when you’re nostalgic about past travels through Asia. Simple. Relaxed. Fantastic banh mi. Can’t get enough of their dirty chai.

A chance search on Google led us to this fantastic place. After a visit to Vietnam this year we have become big fans of the food. This restaurant has been the best Vietnamese dining we have experienced outside of Vietnam. Atmosphere is authentic, staff are very friendly and welcoming and the food was first-rate. We had Summer Rolls (best I’ve had) Duck spring rolls, Pho and curry. The Vietnamese cà phê was superb. Highly recommended by us!

Visiting Brighton for a pre-Christmas break and found this brilliant place via Google. We visited Vietnam this year and loved the food - make no mistake - this restaurant is as authentic as it gets. Atmosphere is vibrant, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. An unexpected treat and highly recommended by us. Good, honest Viet Cooking.

Friendly and comfortable atmosphere, large enough floorspace to be baby friendly for our large pram. Pho with beef was delicious and we also ordered vegan Banh mi and some mochi. The kind of place you could easily become a regular, go for casual work lunch or a special get together meal with friends. We also loved the music 🎶 I felt I was back in Vietnam.

Been waiting to try this for months. The food was fine but not super impressive (not expecting it to be a ceiling level anyways). Overall not bad, quite average. However, the service actually made me not considering to visit in future. The guy was fine but the female waitress doesn’t seem to be welcoming and friendly. Price wise were actually quite fair. And what I like about is there’s a choice for the size of Pho from mini to XL which is quite interesting!

Ive had pho in alot of places but this is one of the best. Generous portion and amazong flavour. Orderd beef, pork and chicken. Cant wait to try more

One of the nicest, creamiest caramel iced lattes I've had and the man who served me had the biggest warmest smile on his face. Will definitely be back to try the food. It looks yummy!

Must visit for the banh mi (sandwich) and I love a good bowl of pho. The pho served here is in the style of North Vietnam so the ingredients are slightly different but tastes delicious nonetheless. They don’t have an Instagram account and they could really do with redevelopment inside the restaurant but the outdoor seats are practical weather permitting.

Since changing from an English cuisine cafe to Vietnamese it is so much tastier! The chef is serious about his work, taking his time to get the details right. The food is wholesome and delicious. It is not too expensive, and I especially appreciate that there are lots of different portion sizes depending how hungry you are or how much you have to spend. Really useful because it gives you the option of going for a light weekday lunch or a more substantial dinner. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual.

Popped in for lunch with some friends after craving Pho! We ordered summer rolls & salad to share, and a bowl of Pho each — everything tasted lovely, fresh & home-cooked and I liked the option to add prawns/salmon as well as vegan options. Overall a nice little spot for a casual bite :)

I visited with colleagues at lunch time and it was heaving (even on a Wednesday!). I ordered the vegan curry which was tofu based which cost £5.50. The food came really promptly, and was so tasty. The flavours were well balanced, and there was a good serving of tofu which was nice to see. I found there was a little too much rice but that’s just my personal preference. It was a really decent portion for the price. The staff were friendly, accommodating and quick to serve. The only thing I would say is the menu is written on a black board and it’s not the clearest thing to read - I did get a bit confused about what dishes were starters/mains and what toppings were available. Perhaps menus on tables would be better. I would definitely come here again for a tasty meal on a budget.

Rating purely the Vietnamese iced coffee I had! Utterly delicious my go to place for coffee when in Brighton you cannot go wrong with it!

I got the tofu banh mi with spicy sauce and tofu summer rolls. My boyfriend got pho. Everything was so good and decently priced. Service does take a bit long so I don’t recommend if you want a quick bite. The tofu banh mi could have more sauce or filling. But their pho (not pictured) is amazing!

Good atmosphere. Spring rolls were overly deep fried. The Pho was very bland compared to what I've tasted in Vietnam. They may have been understaffed as I need to clean my own table before I could use it. Table next to me had to clear away plates from customers who had previously left.

The place was empty as we got there around 5:30 pm as we were going to a gig. Ordered x2 starters ( gyozas and summer rolls) summer rolls never came. Then we ordered x2 curres- bland and gelatinous. These two words you'd never associate with Vietnamese food. Both staff working, had zero interest in us,nor did they ask how our food was either. Such an underwhelming experience despite us being the only people in there. No excuse for being busy or preoccupied. Wished we'd gone to Oshio further down trafalgar Street instead. Such a limited menu, that it's astounding that he can be so unbelievably rubbish.

Very rude, just made a hand sign to me to say a 25 min wait, annoyed for me just asking a question about if takeout is an option. So stressed to make food at lunchtime on a Friday even though literally what you're business is about. Will not come back.

Finally got around to finding this place today. Have been to Vietnam a few times and the food from here is equally delicious. Have attempted Vietnamese cooking myself and now realise how second rate I am compared to how these guys do it.

I love Milk No Sugar. Their Pho is so tasty and fresh. All there food leaves you feeling refreshed, energised and healthy. Nice broth, fresh veggies, noodles and good meat. They do salt and pepper 🌶 squid and summer rolls which are also really nice. My partner had the Banhi Mi which she said was very tasty. I saw people ordering the curry which also looks very good. The staff are nice, polite and friendly. I would recommend this place for a delicious Vietnamese lunch with friends.

Food and ambiance is always excellent, whenever we are In Brighton we head here for lunch and the food and coffee is always exceptional. Be prepared to wait as it is all hand made and freshly prepared but is def worth the wait. Is also a great place to sit and work on a laptop.

Had a craving for an authentic decent Banh Mi and this cute little place did not disappoint! Pork with spicy sauce and the hidden pate was delicious. Vietnamese filter coffee on the side and my lunch was complete. Nice cosy restaurant in the North Laines.

I've spent a lot of time in Vietnam and the Vietnamese coffee, Pho, summer rolls and Bahn Mi here are easily on par with what I have had in Vietnam. The staff are really nice, and I had a good chat with one of the owners. The ambiance in the restaurant is perfect, I felt I was in Vietnam again. Milk No Sugar is now in my goto list for whenever I need a bahn mi and proper Vietnamese coffee.

Food is decent and tasty. Friendly staff. The place needs a good clean. The floor was very dirty. The chairs were stained and sticky. The sauce bottles need wiping as they are greasy. I went to the toilet and it was very dirty, spider webs in various places and it looked like it hadn't been scrubbed for a long while.

We ordered vegetable spring roll, Chicken and Beef Pho. The spring rolls were pricey for the little quantity and taste was alright. Nothing too special. But the pho was AMAZING. It had such a homely feel to it. The good part was you can order as per the size you prefer. I tried the rice pot too but didn’t like it as much. Do pay a visit if you enjoy pho. Usually their chicken is not halal but this batch was. Please do check with them before ordering if their chicken is halal or not. Will definitely go back for the Pho!🍲❤️

Me and my sister travelled all the way from London to dine there We went in the summer and had to go again in December. They have amazing vegetarian option I loves the curry!!!! The only thing I would recommend is please 🙏 get rid of these spiders in the bathroom The place could do with some cleaning up. It is abit dusty .other than that I couldn't recommend enough

Me and my brother came for a little snack , I had the pork goyzas and they were brilliant and my brother had a hot chocolate. Service was friendly , food came fast and overall a good experienc. Definitely come back but more a more substantial meal. Highly recommend👍

My day started, a quite Friday morning but felt like a Monday! The birds were chirping children playing, a trip to milk no sugar was in order. Bloody lovely it was. I was feeling slightly under the weather as we approached the doors but one sip of beverage restored me to full power. The food had a bit of a kick but the bowls were empty MORE we said. We rejoiced just so yummy. A burped with excitement Great food, great laugh, great vibe, great staff, brilliant company. A toast to milk no sugar, sorry love I'm sweet enough 5/5*

Best pho in the town. Really tasty, but flies inside the cafe are off-putting. I will still buy from there but for take away probably.

Came in for a work friend's leaving Dinner we had made a booking for ten people then realised we had 5 extra, not an issue 😍. they put in every effort to accommodate us all then made us all a fantastic dinner with many dietary requirements. Definitely worth a visit small space so nice for an intimate dinner but group friendly . Will come again

This cafe is such a hidden gem. The banh mi (get the pate as an extra) is really fresh and tasty but the Pho is my favourite, the broth is aromatic and perfect, it’s so tasty and it just feels like a hug in bowl. Staff are friendly, service is quick and prices are reasonable. Don’t be put off by the paired back, industrial style decor this cafe is well worth a visit.
