Gorgeous restaurant. Went for Mother’s Day, wasn’t particularly busy but yet the service was so slow. The waiters also didn’t seem to know what they were doing. The scallops starter was delicious! Fresh & hot! Seafood linguine was bland. No seasoning at all and tomato sauce was reminiscent of Heinz. Mum got fish & chips…lumpy tartare sauce, more batter than fish & chips were rock hard.

The ingredients are fresh and delicious. If you are looking for fish and chips, this restaurant is the best 👍

I had already been to this place twice before and this time I was satisfied. The fish is of excellent quality. Simple but kind service.

It was a Friday afternoon and we had a very late lunch at 4pm. The signboard said they have the best fish and chips. Having just arrived in London, I was very keen to have this so I walked in. In summary, the waiting staff were all very hospitable. Food was great. We had fish and chips, and a seared yellow fin tuna. Flavour was spot on and I enjoyed every mouthful. Nothing is perfect and if I had to pick on something, I would say the chips could be a little more crispy and the tuna would be a bit more medium rare. Again I’m more the happy with the food the way it is. 10/10 for service 9.5/10 for food 9/10 for atmosphere This place is well worth a try. I’m not disappointed and I hope you won’t be too.

Fantastic food. Love to try it again

It feels like high-end fish and chips. The French fries were thick and had a good texture, and they tasted even better when I ate them sitting by the window with the sunlight shining through them. The staff was really friendly. The tartar sauce is also delicious~

Rather classy restaurant. We actually came to eat fish and chips but after discussing the allergen (and looking at the allergen website with a filter) it quickly turned out that I should eat something else. My dish was still very tasty and the fish and chips were tasty too

FishWorks**** The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and the service is very attentive. The staff is very ready to serve and help. It was easy to get a table, and the food was excellent. It's a seafood place, and the fish and seafood were super fresh. One of the dishes we ordered was also very well seasoned. We had a Chardonnay, and the wine option was good and reasonably priced. The cost was around 70 pounds per person, and I highly recommend a visit.

It was my 3rd visit to Fishworks and as always it was a great meal and great service. Staff were attentive and the food was fresh and tasty.

Disappointing. An expensive fish restaurant in the heart of the capital which runs completely out of mussels at 7.30pm on their biggest night of the week (Saturday), tells you all you need to know really. Very patchy food quality and service for £60 each. They had no mussels, so I had seafood linguine, which was like linguine pasta with Heinz spaghetti rings tipped into it. A tin of that might have been nicer to be honest. Oysters good. Wine good but expensive. This restaurant is way past its heyday. We won’t be back.

Nice atmosphere, fresh and delicious food, although the flavours are not anything special in the dishes we ordered, but most importantly, the seafood is fresh. The oysters are cooked perfectly, but I would have preferred seared in olive oil, butter, and lemon garlic rather than covered in breadcrumbs. The salmon steak was a respectable piece and delicious. Prawn was not served correctly, was not peeled properly, and had to be handled in the least suitable way.

Warm and friendly reception on arrival. Wide choice on menu. I had a simple oven baked sea bass, fileted on request, and cooked to perfection. Great waiter service. I would be very happy to eat here again.

Great service. Only other time that i have enjoyed fish and chips (Halibut) was in Hastings where it was made the proper way, but execution here was magnificent. Service was exemplary, excellent attention to detail and host, almost as if the waiter and staff owned the place as family. Pride in the food and service!

We wanted an understated but quality Valentine’s Day meal/brunch and this plaice (pun intended) hit the spot. Negative: Minimal choice if you’re not a seafood lover ( not sure why you’d choose a seafood restaurant if you don’t like seafood). Positives: Amazing array of seafood as you would expect, cooked to a high standard and excellently presented. Bright, modern decor/lighting, appropriate nautical theme. Value for money especially considering the location. But the biggest positive and main reason we will be returning, is the staff. Welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Offered suggested on both food and wine, all servers provided hospitality which is often lacking in busy central London restaurants. Would 100% recommend for seafood lovers.

My wife and I had a nice meal at the Fishworks, Covent Garden. The fish dishes were tasty, and the panna cotta dessert I had was really good. However, it was a bit expensive for what it was. Also, we went there for Valentine's Day, attracted by the advertised four course tasting menu. However, one of the "courses" was the side bread, which was a bit misleading. Overall, we had a nice meal, albeit a bit overpriced.

Went to FishWorks Covent Garden on 13/02, and it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had! I was celebrating Valentine’s a day earlier as my date and I were both busy on the 14/02, and the staff made us feel so welcome and special! My date had never had oysters before and seeing how much he loved them was amazing, absolutely top tier sea food, he had the Halibut Fish and Chips and I had the Seafood and Samphire Linguine, followed by a Sticky Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream! What an amazing Valentine’s meal in such a beautiful restaurant with such caring staff! Thank you again, and will definitely be back!

I had the pleasure of dining at FishWorks in Covent Garden this evening with my mum, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Our server, Kristelle, was incredibly knowledgeable and charming, adding such a warm and welcoming vibe to our meal, it felt like being with a family friend. Despite visiting during a quieter time outside of peak hours, her hospitality made the atmosphere feel like we were dining at a cozy family restaurant. Every dish we had was absolutely delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The quality of the food was outstanding, and the pricing was very fair for central London. The wine list was lovely, and the highlights of the meal for me was the fish soup—it was hands down the best I’ve had in quite some time, beautiful flavours! The kitchen staff even made a special version so the rouwe was lower in lactose for me. The menu was varied and truly impressive. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to Kristelle & FishWorks for a memorable dining experience! Will most certainly be back next time I'm in London. Yum!

The four of us really enjoyed this experience, the food and service were excellent. All the staff were very happy and positive which contributed to the whole experience. From the simple cod and chips to the more adventurous items on the menu, the quality was brilliant. Would definitely recommend and will visit again next time we are in the area.

Visited Fishwork for my bae’s birthday celebration! The overall experience was awesome. One take away, the “value for money” factor is a scope for improvement. The fish has great flavours and butter with lobster was umami laden. If I have to pick one dish that was a winner - this was scallops. Definitely recommend visiting!

We were a party of 4 and all agreed Fishworks is fantastic. It is going down in memory as one of my happiest and best meals out. Every single thing we ordered was fresh, great quality and utterly delicious. I hope her manager is reading this because our waitress was hands down the best waitress I've ever encountered. She was extremely personable without being intrusive, fun, great energy and gave very helpful advice on menu choices and wines. She always seemed to be there when we wanted something but didn't hover about making us feel uncomfortable. Give the woman a medal! At £85 a head I know it sounds expensive but actually it felt reasonable as we had starters, mains with various side dishes and puddings plus a glass of champagne each to start, a bottle of white and a carafe of red. I should add that it was a special occasion so for the food and service be so brilliant meant a lot. Thank you.

We had a superb meal here, with excellent food and wine. In particular I liked the seared tuna, which was absolutely delicious. What did let it down was the service. We visited about 2pm, and I appreciate that this is between main service times, but there were some definite issues notwithstanding having three different waiting staff over our visit, which I'd expect as they rotate breaks. Our starter was completely forgotten, so we went straight to our main course. My wife chose from the fish selection on ice, but the 'fishmonger' didn't know where the gills were on the fish to show her, which doesn't show the sort of product knowledge you'd maybe expect. Overall, absolutely would visit again as the fish was really well cooked, and dessert was also great quality.

We came her for my birthday lunch. We wanted a nice meal. The mussels were very good. We also ordered grilled lobster, lobster thermidor, grilled seafood platter (no photo). The lobsters over cooked slightly, don't think it was worth £55 each. Overall experience were good but I don't think it was value for money.. I expect much better quality cooking.

Great fishworks branch. Have eaten at all of them but this was my first time here. Food tasted a lot better and the service was excellent.

We were turned down from two other restaurants as we were four adults with children and did not book a table thinking it's not necessary on Tuesday evening. Came to fishworks and the manager asked us to wait 15 min, but had a table ready in 5. The food was excellent, and the service was prompt, considering how busy it was. It’s rare to see such commitment and poise under pressure, and I want to commend the lady manager and our waiter for their exceptional service. They turned what could have been a stressful evening into a memorable one. I will definitely be returning, knowing that the restaurant is in such capable hands.

So much amazing fish food! Definitely one of the best seafood experiences in London. However, it's unfortunate that the staff didn't do anything special for our birthday celebration - not even a complimentary dessert / candles. Also, the lemon tart smelled a lot like fish... Definitely would not recommend to order it.

Found my fish and chips restaurant. Very good. Not greasy and very good chips.

Came here after the lion king show. We were 20 min early before our reservation time but were seated quickly. In brief, the food was not impressive for its price except for the appetizer (whitebait). Our waitress seemed very busy and we had to wait very long for additional plates. There was never a refill of water and our empty glasses sat on the table for a good 40 min.

Really wonderful surroundings and ambience, only 4 stars for the food as the sides we had were not very hot when they came to the table. Super fish and great service otherwise. Perfect for a bite before a show

Chic restaurant with delicious fish & chips

My wife booked a surprise birthday meal for my 60th followed by a show, our meal (starters) was delayed by 25 min due to a printer issue and we were given some very basic bread and pesto oil as a complimentary dish, When the starters. (Scallops) arrived they were a mishmash of raw and seriously overcooked with a heavy metallic taste. Given my concerns I would generally have sent them back but I did not want to embarrass my wife who dad given a lot of thought to choosing the restaurant. Hoping that things might improve we moved to the main course. My wife chose Salmon which looked and tasted brilliant. I chose blackened Mackerel only to be presented with a dish that had evidently spent too much time under a heat lamp. The mackerel, 3 dried and tasteless fillets on a sauce that resembled burnt asphalt was accompanied by a straw like slither of artichoke and potatoes, which as an Irishman, would have my ancestors turning in their grave. Little did I realise that we were to be reacquainted with the scallops some time later which brought a disappointing end to what should have a joyous birthday celebration, On this occasion the Fish did not work.

With full confidence I can say that this is one of the better meals I’ve ever had. The fish, oysters, drinks and service were phenomenal. The staff know exactly what they’re talking about and offered some really helpful tips about the different kinds of fish. Cannot wait to dine the next time I’m in London. Highly recommend this place.

I booked through The Fork booking site, and got 20%off the bill (a la carte food only). For a weekend at lunchtime, it was quiet, especially in Covent garden, so you can relax and enjoy the food. On the other hand, it lacks atmosphere because of it. It has some "catch of the day"menu on the black board, which is a good touch. The service is attentive for a chain restaurant. Friendly, but not too much. Even without the discount, I found the price very reasonable for the quality and for its location. Recommended.

Great restaurant, close to the theaters, so perfect for pre-show dinner. The seafood was fresh with great flavors. Service was fast and allowed us to visit without feeling rushed, amazing for a Friday night.

Food is overpriced. Staff were incredibly slow even though it wasn’t super busy. The food was under seasoned and overcooked. I had the blackened mackerel and it was just ok.

Omds I could not recommend this place enough! The seafood was absolutely delicious and worth the price! We enjoyed the grilled lobster, Fruits de mer, scallops and wine mussels! It was absolutely spectacular! The oysters were so fresh!

Came here midweek and had the seafood platter with 2 glasses of champagne, and a couple of sides. Good atmosphere with plenty of people, with couples, families and larger groups. The platter was great, with a decent quantity and mix of seafood, including a healthy amount of crab meat If you were willing to put in the hard work to scrape it all out. Our server (Alex) was friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

We are like royalty and have fishy seafood babies, which is about as high a compliment as I can give. For the amount of feed we received, it was pretty good value for London in the middle of theatre land, and the service was great. We were an impulse walk-in having spotted the restaurant as we passed. Most people already eating were dressed from the office and we were hesitant to go in as we were dressed for a rock gig on the other side of the city so we definitely stood out and were a bit self-conscious, but the staff were great and encouraged us in anyway and made us most welcome so that quickly faded. We had a great time. I would definitely go back!
