Good restaurant with good product, but you pay a very high price. Taking into account Edinburgh prices, nothing crazy. Very good service from a Spaniard from Alicante called Jose and his manager.

The food is very delicious, even the common fish/shrimp chips (deluxe) are amazing, very tender and juicy. The oysters were plump and crispy. This time I tried the original and Bloody Mary sauces. The Bloody Mary oysters are slightly spicy when you first eat them, but the more you eat, the more they taste. The restaurant also offers bread and pickled olives, but they cost an additional £4.50. The marinated olives are delicious and worth a try

Went for oysters and the hot seafood platter for an anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! It was wonderfully prepared. Oysters couldn’t have been more fresh! My only criticism would have some of that lovely garlic butter in a pot on the side for the seafood platter. Perfect selection of wines. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and nothing was too much trouble! Thank you again, and we’ll be back!

Anyone says less than 5 stars is cookoo! Best seafood, perhaps, anywhere!! So they’re 109% five star all the WAY! Rose & I are very careful about seafood… our Marriott hosts said to try Fishers…. Collectively my wife Rose and I are 133 years old (sorry Honey), we have NEVER HAD BETTER SEAFOOD! But there’s more; Behind the bar is Henry (pictured), a pure professional JOY! Then Liam (pictured) manages the floor with unmatched skill and talent and poise! The there’s the ultra shy Ada (no picture, too Shy) waiting our table with talents a plenty! Ok back to the food, we had the hot seafood platter ( see menu picture)… nothing short of Oh My God delicious, our best EVER! Ok, back to Henry… look fast cause he’s going to Australia!… find him and you’ll find great service and delightful bartending!!

The food and experience was not what we had expected. Presentation is beautiful however the food was disappointing and expensive. We were visiting from Canada and had been recommended by a local tour guide. We ordered the scallop appetizer which was three small scallops. We were asked if we wanted bread and olives. In Canada bread is complimentary. We should have looked more closely at the menu. The olives were good but expensive. I ordered the fish cakes I love fish cakes. The cakes smelt overwhelming like fish and were salty. Fish should never smell like fish. My husband ordered the seafood pasta it had bits of shell that was off putting. We were asked how our meal was we were honest and nice and were dismissed. I was told the fish cake recipe had been around since the restaurant opened and most people like it. My husband received the same type of dismal. Why ask us how our food was. Would not recommend. Expensive and food is not good. A bit pretentious was the vibe we got. The drink I ordered was amazing which sadly was the best thing about the meal. It was our wedding anniversary so I ordered a French martini.

Very disappointing visit. *Do NOT waste your time going if you have a peanut or nut allergy, especially if you are anaphylactic.* While we were informed of the menu items that did contain nuts, our server told us she didn’t feel comfortable serving my sister (who is anaphylactic to peanuts and nuts) any food at all. We left and it disrupted our family dinner on our first night out in the city. Nut allergies are common, and severe, and should be accommodated for, even in a shared kitchen.

We were recommended to book by local friends who joined us for dinner, we were five people. We booked at 5.45 but arrived early and were ushered straight to the table. My husband arrived 5 minutes later at 5.50pm. We ordered main courses and were told by the waitress there would be a long wait because we didn't order starters. Why should that affect the waiting time? The food mains were good, I have to say unexceptional. The rocket side salad had clearly been around in the kitchen for a while, it was wilted and the brocolli was completely unseasoned. No salt in the salt grinder. The empty plates sat on the table for 40 minutes. The restaurant was very busy but busy because of the number of tables in proportion to the staff and the need to turn over the tables to fit in more covers. When the waitress asked if we wanted deserts she waved the menus and said she would see what she could do (i.e do us a favour) but she said there wasn't much time. We were told there were people waiting for our table because we had sat a little longer at the table after finishing and paying the bill. When I offered feedback on our experience the waitress said "its the festival", "we are really busy", "I had a huge table to deal with" and then she added "and you were half an hour late". This was patently not true so when i challenged her she said "that's what I was told by the front desk". I then asked to speak to the manager who was very aggressive and when I tried to leave he blocked my way on the stairs and said smuggly "you were half an hour late" as if to say the whole terrible service experience was our fault. I tried to point out that this was wrong but he just kept going being rude and stopping me from leaving the restaurant. Honestly I felt sullied, bullied and so disappointed by the experience. This was supposed to be our treat meal in Edinburgh. Luckily it was not typical of our experience in a city we rather like. Fisher's needs to reduce the pressure on diners it seems to me this kind of experience is all because of maximising profits rather than providing a lovely service and experience for its' clients. I read a review by Jay Rayner from 2017 which said it needs a "friendly whack". It still needs that in 2024. Such a disappointment.

The service was friendly, professional and efficient. 6 oysters / Sweet soy braised short rib bao bun and 4 scallops (missing 2 for the price) / fish and chips later the highlight for both were the dessert. The Sticky Toffee pudding was heaven and Lime polenta cake, to die for or rather have it one last time before dying :-) One disappointment was to indulge myself knowingly to a small glass of Chablis for 25£ and it's definitely not worth it. Our food was pretty terrific - scallops with 1/2 lobster and fish & chips then crème brûlée for dessert - but the service was overall very poor. When we arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, we were told we’d need to wait until our reservation time, although the restaurant was overall only about half full.. We thought maybe they just needed to catch up, so no big deal. We watched 2 servers hanging near the bathroom area on their phones, so it didn’t seem like they were too busy to handle the crowd level, but we said nothing and waited. At exactly our reservation time (when no tables left in between that time and our arrival), we were escorted to our table and left for 20 minutes before being able to order drinks. Our server acted like he had much better things to do/places to be when he finally arrived to our table. By the time we finally received our food, there was only one other table in the restaurant, but we had to find our server for basic necessities and, ultimately, for our check. For the price, there are hundreds of other restaurants in the city with better service and food that is just as good.

Never Have We Been Treated Like This, Anywhere in the World! So excited to be coming, but what happened next was inexcusable. We arrived 15min late, after trying to call twice to let them know, but the phone rang out. We explained this but we were told on arrival that we “had” a table and he would “see” if he could find one for us. He then proceeded to seat before us, with our knowledge and to make a point no doubt, another couple that had no booking. They offered us to go first but, aghast, we said please don’t worry. He also overlooked a young couple, of Asian origin, who were also walk-ins, before the walk-ins seated before us! When we asked the maitre’d why he would serve walk-ins first, after dressing us down, he had no explanation and, in my opinion, delighted in upsetting us. He succeeded. So upset by our treatment, we left and, will never come back, and will never recommend the venue to anyone in the world. It is a shame when angry, dissatisfied staff visit their troubles on people that just wanted to reward them with custom. As a proprietor myself, I would be ashamed as the proprietor of this business, if I knew my team were treating arrivals, and from overseas, with such calculated nastiness. Bravo Fishery for upsetting two tourists that were so excited to visit your establishment.

She was friendly, professional and attentive. A couple other staff assisted her and were equally pleasant. At one point, the maitre d stopped by to check on us. We went to this restaurant without a reservation because it was near our B&B. What a nice surprise ! The people there are so nice, they found us a table for the 3 of us. We were with our 3 years old and they make a plate espacially for her. The service was very quick and the dishes excellent (We had the prawn curry, I hightly recommand it!) The wine was perfect too. You can go there without an hesitation ! Thank you for Everything!

We tried other seafood restaurants in the city (didn’t manage to make it to Leith), but this one had the best seafood platter! We loved it so much and can’t wait to go back again.

Great spot for a family dinner or night out. Fresh seafood and good service. We started with the mussels served with cream and garlic and oysters - oysters were fresh and the mussels were delicious. For dinner we had lobsters, surf and turf, scallops, and seafood pasta - everything was delicious! Definitely not our cheapest meal, but well worth the price.

Great restaurant! Had some of the freshest seafood of my life here—oysters, scallops and lobster. So delicious! Service was wonderful. Was recommended by our hotel and totally see why. Will be craving those scallops especially in the future!

Went to this restaurant with my friend on Friday. It was busy right when it opened at noon. people working there were really nice. Food was good but a little expensive. They have lots of wines to choose from and it’s in a nice spot. Good place, but you might spend a bit more.

Friendly staff, delicious food (so far we had the platter of smoked fish, mussels and fish and chips) and a lovely designed interior. We’re heading back tomorrow.

First time to City restaurant, and I've been to the Leith one a few times. I always go for the fish soup, Cullen skink, but they had their fish soup. Nice, but disappointed as simply nowhere as good as the Lleith Cullem Skink, short on fish. At £12, for the large bowl I'm disappointed. However, others pleased with their starters, and we all had fish & chips, which were decent value at £17. Setting nice, staff very good, great service and don't rush you.

Had been to Fishers original restaurant in Leith so was excited to try the city centre venture. As you would expect in the city centre it's a bit smarter and upmarket and the Friday lunchtime when we were there it was busy and buzzing. We went for the a la carte menu - I had the scallops as a starter and halibut as a main. Both were excellent, really well cooked and generous quantities, well presented and with tasty sauces and vegetables as appropriate. Service from the staff was excellent, friendly but professional. Although busy, waiting times before and between courses were just right Overall, nothing to fault and certainly hope to return in due course.

The food is real nice bit quite overpriced. You can get the same quality at Miller and Carter. Service takes ages. We actually got aksed to move at the 2 hour mark. We were only there so long because we waited forever for the food! Cheeky Nice decor but it's basically like a posh Wetherspoons. Avoid this entire street. They reel you in but the reality is very different

Went with a couple of friends at their suggestion because I don't really know Thistle street and haven't heard of Dusit before. But I'll definitely be back. Very friendly and helpful staff that gave a warm welcome and the food was very good. They even asked if I wanted the food less spicy which was a bonus for me😂 can't fault it in any way! A definite recommendation for sure!

The view alone is worth the price, but the food is amazing too! Portions are small but expertly crafted.
