Good seafood, but not superb in my opinion.

This place is fantastic. The service was great. The fish was fantastic. I can’t say enough. Terrific evening.

The food was excellent, very fresh seafood and nicely seasoned. The service could’ve been better and kinder.

The service is great and the food is very tasty. About an hour after leaving the restaurant I had crazy stomach pains and vomiting and I thought it was my last hour. My heart was pounding like I had food poisoning. I recommend checking fish and shrimp carefully !!!

We went to this restaurant without a reservation because it was near our B&B. What a nice surprise ! The people there are so nice, they found us a table for the 3 of us. We were with our 3 years old and they make a plate espacially for her. The service was very quick and the dishes excellent (We had the prawn curry, I hightly recommand it!) The wine was perfect too. You can go there without an hesitation ! Thank you for Everything!

We tried other seafood restaurants in the city (didn’t manage to make it to Leith), but this one had the best seafood platter! We loved it so much and can’t wait to go back again.

Great spot for a family dinner or night out. Fresh seafood and good service. We started with the mussels served with cream and garlic and oysters - oysters were fresh and the mussels were delicious. For dinner we had lobsters, surf and turf, scallops, and seafood pasta - everything was delicious! Definitely not our cheapest meal, but well worth the price.

Went to this restaurant with my friend on Friday. It was busy right when it opened at noon. people working there were really nice. Food was good but a little expensive. They have lots of wines to choose from and it’s in a nice spot. Good place, but you might spend a bit more.

First time to City restaurant, and I've been to the Leith one a few times. I always go for the fish soup, Cullen skink, but they had their fish soup. Nice, but disappointed as simply nowhere as good as the Lleith Cullem Skink, short on fish. At £12, for the large bowl I'm disappointed. However, others pleased with their starters, and we all had fish & chips, which were decent value at £17. Setting nice, staff very good, great service and don't rush you.

Had been to Fishers original restaurant in Leith so was excited to try the city centre venture. As you would expect in the city centre it's a bit smarter and upmarket and the Friday lunchtime when we were there it was busy and buzzing. We went for the a la carte menu - I had the scallops as a starter and halibut as a main. Both were excellent, really well cooked and generous quantities, well presented and with tasty sauces and vegetables as appropriate. Service from the staff was excellent, friendly but professional. Although busy, waiting times before and between courses were just right Overall, nothing to fault and certainly hope to return in due course.

They master the art of seafood ! The meals are delicate and exquisite, very tasty and creative, with good portions, and the wine exceptionnal. The staff is also great !

Firstly a warm welcome, then a superb selection of oysters. For main course I had the sublime halibut. It was absolutely delicious and I don’t think I have ever tasted such a super sauce! So much so I asked for the recipe! Fabulous dinner! Thank you!

Phoned ahead as I was dining alone. Very understanding and took a table by the kitchen for something to watch. Had half a lobster which was superb. In herb butter. With fries and rocket salad. Glad I ordered bread to mop up the sauce. The staff were friendly. Efficient. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back.

Had lunch.. pricey.. it’s slightly overrated but nonetheless good apart from the fries.. burnt and cold. Am sure any fast food establishments would better.. overall ok but didn’t appreciate the 10% service charge slapped on us. Wouldn’t mind paying it if stated.. won’t rush to come back though

Always a safe pair of hands when it comes to good seafood in the city centre. Excellent choice and good value.

Not fancy food but just well cooked traditional fish and chips and fish soup. Batter was light and airy with tender juicy fish. The soup was rich but not too heavy. A great pop in to get the mandatory fish and chips!

Had a lovely meal the food is really good and decor is nice. However service was poor. They did not fill my glass of wine up and I had to do this myself with the bottle. Paying a lot of money one would expect the glass to be topped up. I over hear the staff talking about there personal stuff and laughing which is not professional. Found staff a bit direct not the service I was expecting. Wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Omg the bisque - everything else was lovely to but the bisque was DIVINE!

I was hoping for something special with the fish and chips but it disappointed. Way too much batter which choked the fish and prawns. Luckily a lovely bottle of Gavi was enjoyable, sadly the food wasn’t that nice.

Me and my partner came here whilst on a city break and we are both big fans of seafood. Staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. Lovely selection of seafood to choose from. We had the monkfish tacos and fish cakes as starters, and then the king prawn curry and my partner had the scallops and 1/2 lobster. The scallops are some of the best we have ever had. Reasonably priced for top quality food! Will definitely visit again and try the sharing platter as it looked delicious. Thank you so much 😄

Razor clams, langoustines, and scallops were winners but the lobster was a big miss and mushy. Also not sure why they give you an absolutely useless nutcracker, especially a broken one, when you're spending 70+ pounds per person.

Great place for seafood. Reasonably priced.

This restaurant used to be good with a reasonably priced menu. This was going back 7, 8 years ago. Now it feels like everything has turned into a bit of a snob. Food is tasty but the kitchen is very mean with the portion size. And the menu is ridiculously overly priced. Also, it seems to me that the waiters are more attentive to customers than the waitresses.

Really good seafood with a small efficient team on site

During our short stay in Edinburgh after Christmas before New Year, Fishers was recommended by Hotel Staff where we were staying and were very impressed with the quality of the food and service. The wine selection was equaliiy wonderful. Thank You for an amazing evening.

This is an attractive location in the heart of Edinburgh. The menu had various options and we chose the da alley portion options which were generous. Service was professional and friendly. Food was delicious and carefully presented. We couldn’t help but be impressed.

Excellent service, everyone who served us from the moment we entered the door to the moment we left was excellent 👌 We had a range of dishes and everything was superb from the octopus with beetroot puree and vinegar jelly, to the duck with pear puree, to the sole wih olives, capers and tomatoes to the hot sea food platter. 5/5 all over.

Délicieuse nourriture et service impeccable, très sympa. Enfants admis et bienvenus, chose suffisamment remarquable dans le centre. Ils ont des chaises hautes et un fish&chips pour enfants. Nous avons vraiment très bien mangé et avons été bien reçus. Le cadre du restaurant est un peu vieux jeu mais la cuisine ouverte est sympa.

My and husband and I were so lucky to come across this resturant when we shopping in the street. Very grateful for the staff for squeezing us in as they were full and ofcourse we didn't have a booking. We loved every bit of it. Yes it is alittle pricy but you will get what you pay for , great food, great ambience, friendly staff and a memorable dinner!

Came here on my birthday whilst staying in Edinburgh.Really good seafood and friendly staff. I had squid to start and it was possibly the best I've ever had. Only slight criticism that portions were quite small considering it was quite pricey and partners meal was swimming in garlic butter, but he enjoyed seafood.

Absolutely divine food! Amazing service

Another great visit. We enjoyed some bread and herby oil to start and then had the delicious smoked haddock & salmon fish cakes. We were eating again later so just had a light lunch on this occasion. Very good service, really friendly staff. The white wine we shared was perfect to accompany our food. Can’t wait to return.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, attentive service and delicious food. The bar is well stocked and the menu is varied and interesting. Obviously they specialise in fish but they have a nice range of steak and other meat options.

Next time I’m having the Hot Shellfish Platter (£110.00 for two) as it looked incredible!

Delicious food on a great menu, lovely vibe and atmosphere with superb staff, all makes Fishers a really good restaurant and definitely worth a visit, Cameron the host is top class too. The fish curry was amazing 👌👌

Best food ever had in Edinburgh. Fresh lobster and cod, perfectly cooked. Enjoyed the desserts as well. Was a little suspicious whether it’s worth the money with a tight budget but would definitely want to go again!!!

Starter was OK, I got 2 scallops with some black pudding. It was served in a scallop shell, which was difficult to eat from and unnecessary. The jam/chutney was very sweet and disappointingly overpowered the scallops. However, my second course was increible. I had the halibut fillet moqueca which was utterly delicious! If I could eat this dish every week, I would. I cannot fault it. I finished my lunch with an affogato and a coffee.

Had the hot seafood platter and chocolate fondant, both tasted amazing, especially the chocolate fondant. Most of the seafood were fresh (with a few mussels gone bad). The seafood were cooked perfectly. However I still think it’s a bit overpriced (£60). The chocolate fondant was decent, the nuts, ice cream just matches perfectly with the chocolate. The service was nice and made me feel at ease.

Hard to find fault here. Staff pleasant and good service throughout is a great way to start any dining experience. A seafood menu to tempt anyone and almost too many delightful choices to make a quick decision....a nice problem to have. The halibut was outstanding....

Another smashing visit. Attentive staff made us feel right at home, and WOW! That Brazilian halibut dish was one of my favourite things to eat of all time! The chef is THE GOAT!

Excellent seafood spot located down a cute little street. Everything we ate was delicious from one of the tastiest plates of varied oysters we’ve eaten in a while, big juicy langoustines, a bowl of flavourful steaming mussels, thick crusty bread to mop up the sauce with. The service was professional, attentive and very friendly. Highly recommend a visit if in the area and seeking some fresh local Scottish seafood.

Great meal at Fishers In The City. I thought since in Scotland I should have seafood and I was not disappointed. The cured salmon starter was amazing as was the rest of the meal. Chilled atmosphere and super service. I cannot recommend enough.

First we were met by a nice waiter, who offered to keep out bags (we came straight from the plane), then another waiter helped with the food and made a really good recommendations for a glass of wine. The food came without having to wait for long and it was really delicious! Pretty messy, but really good. We shared a dessert and was both full to the brim after. Highly recommend!

Ordered the classic fish and chips, as well as the half dozen oysters. Both were extremely fresh and delicious! The creme brulee and pear parfait desserts were remarkable! Pouilly-fume was a perfect pairing for all. Definitely make reservations in advance, which seems to be a common theme in Edinburgh (lesson learned). So glad we made that reservation and waited. Truly memorable experience that we'll seek to repeat when back in Scotland. Highly recommended!

We could enjoy variety of hot seafood platter. Lobster, langoustine, mussels, oyster and clams were amazing. We ordered salmon for main dish as well, it was amazing. However I am not sure this restaurant is very special or impressive. I feel it is just normal fancy seafood restaurant.

Had the fish and chips deluxe and the chowder. Both were excellent! Moreover, I was a walk-in customer on a Saturday night. Needless to say that they had no table available. However, as I was standing outside the door contemplating my next option the manager came back out and said they just had a cancellation and they could seat me now. Now, that’s customer service!!

This is a spectacular restaurant. The food was delicious. Really really delicious. Service was attentive without being fussy or too much. The mains went too quickly to get pictures I’m afraid. Oysters were just divine. But here are the deserts.

P.s. do not order everything in 1 go because they don't care about after spending £120 and not receiving the service that they say that are capable potentially to provide. What's so diasappoitting is that the Waiter/owner or manager reaction while taking the payment, was like "thank fo let me know bye". He knows how to destroy 1 year anniversary celebrations !!!!
