Fish Union in Bromley

The service tonight was an absolute train wreck, I don’t think we’ve experienced worse. Disappointing given the food is generally very good.

Quality and taste of the food at this restaurant is exceptional. We had the chili prawns then a fish to share with samphire, cabbage and the potatoes. Wow, what a great meal. Love the fishmonger too, it is expensive but you know you’re getting great quality and sustainably sourced fish.

Not impressed. Basically a fish and chip shop, which, upon entry, had the A/C at what seemed like full blast. Didn't like the decor/seating and temperature, so sat outside. Had a very watery Bloody Mary, full of crushed ice and very little tomato juice, my partner had a Gin and Tonic, which was fine. Maldon Rock Oysters lacked any depth of flavour, I've had Maldon Rock Oysters on many occasions, these were nothing like the ones I've eaten previously. My partners prawn starter also lacked any flavour. A smallish piece of herb crusted cod was over £18, it was however well cooked, the confit crispy potatoes were very good but at nearly £6 for four basically large chips they should be. So £24 for cod and chips. Will not return. Very disappointed

Absolutely amazing lunch today. Tiger prawn starter x2 followed by Herb crusted cod and the largest, perfectly cooked bowl of mussels we have ever had. Rose wine wasn’t bad either!

A lovely little seafood restaurant in the middle of Chislehurst. Great food and very friendly staff. The octopus was very nice and the confit potatoes were fantastic. Will definitely return!

Was so looking forward to this, but was a bit disappointed, my halibut was lovely but my friends monkfish was undercooked and had to be sent back, by the time it arrived the rest of the food was cold, & the samphire was overcooked ,soggy, and tasteless. On the plus side the hispic cabbage was delicious as were the crispy potatoes . Desert was nothing special, Waitress was really sweet and pleasant. Expected more for the price.

Lovely, lovely 2-bottles of wine Sunday lunch. The Octopus is AMAZING, The house rosé is delicious, their "I don't know how many times cooked" chips are addictive. Owner Richard (and ex-Exec chef at Wright Brothers oyster house) stopped by for a chat, the staff responsive and child friendly. We sat on the terrace, enjoyed delicious food, wine and atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Very nice meal of fresh seafood dishes. Well prepared and freshly made. The chips are excellent. Nice outdoor seating if the weather is good.

Dined here with my father late afternoon on Saturday. It was superb, the menu and the food itself was complemented by the very attentive and friendly staff, it all made for a real treat. We look forward to coming back soon.

We fancied a seafood lunch so looked up google to see what tickled our fancy. I found this restaurant and thought why not?! The restaurant itself was quite small with a fresh fish counter on display for those who wanted to buy fish/seafood to cook at home. We ordered from the lunch set menu and found it great value. The quality of food was amazing. Everything tasted so fresh and was seasoned so well. Delicious! The bread which came with the mussels was so good alas I was so full that sadly I couldn't finish it! Even though it was just a quick small lunch.. it was possibly one of the best seafood meals I've had (even compared to some of the big names J sheekeys, Scotts, Riddle and Finn, Bentleys, Wright Bros...to name a few!). It was very very agreeable. Pure tasty food with lovely professional yet non pretentious service. We bought a bream from the fish counter to take home for the children's dinner. ...I can confirm that they loved it! The restaurant is not near to where we live but we will definitely be back again!!!

Fancy some real fresh seafood without having to drive all the way to Dover or Folkestone? Look no further! Must try grilled tiger prawns, scallops and their octopus! Lobsters are very fresh and they also have a fish monger counter! We did order a little bit too much but it's rather hard make a choice! The only little letdown are their side dishes, the lettuce was too overgrilled, broccoli bit too oily and triple cooked chips was lacking some taste. But otherwise well done on the small dishes especially! Oh and as there isn't a door between kitchen and restaurant, it does tend to get a little bit 'smelly' so make sure you don't wear your most expensive outfit! Super friendly staff and owner, too!

I had booked days in advance a table for mothers day mentioning I had a pram with our 3 month old they seemed accommodating but when we arrived they had us in the middle table in the serving corridor which was not possible to accommodate us or our children. We left, extremely disappointed and frankly disgusted by their behaviour as we were suggested to sit on the high counter which I had rejected when booking on the phone. The menu might be enticing but I would suggest you avoid a place like this...

We throughly enjoyed everything about our evening at Fish Union last week. The seafood was some of the tastiest and well cooked I’ve ever had. The young girls who served us were very lovely, professional and thorough. Our favourites were definitely the Octopus and Seafood Bouillabaisse, everything was fresh, tasty & cooked to perfection. Only pointer would be that for the price, the prawns could be served as 4 instead of 3, since it is likely people will be sharing these small plates. Can’t wait to return!

We finally got to visit this fishmongers that has a restaurant with some family over the NY breaks. As you would expect, the fish and seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection. This is a real find in the area and will become a regular for us now. Tip: it’s highly recommend you book in advance as tables are limited and it was fully booked on the night we visited. Parking is limited as it’s right on the high street in the village.

Overpriced. Seafood platter was so-so with quite small not good looking shrimps. From 3 mains ordered only ray bay was good, muscles were alright, but small piece of monkfish without anything was really below average. The deserts were awful. In summary, you pay like for a good restaurant, but receive food just a bit better than in average fish n chips place.

Just a quick stop, I'll be back for sure!

OMG just wonderful food. 2nd time I have been to this restaurant and both times the food has been amazing. I recently went to the River Restaurant at the Savoy Hotel, the food at the Fish Union surpasses the food there 1000 times! Service is great, wine list is decent and prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back and happily recommend this restaurant.

The food is amazing, service outstanding but the venue really lets it down. It has a local chip shop feel to it. I highly recommend revamping the place as the owner obviously invested in the quality of food, chef and staff however hasn’t put the same into the restaurant and decor. Light, simple colours would definitely suit it better.

impulse bought 2 mackrel, £10 seemed expensive. Weighed at home 400g, thats £25 a kilo, for mackrel, unbelievable. Won't be going back.

Regularly changing fish options - all great. Tonight we had baked oysters and sardines for starter and then shared a John Dory for two. All excellent.

I celebrated my birthday in April with some friends and we all had a wonderful time. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and professional. I then went to the School of Fish Union Kids Club with my 5 year old foster child. He learnt a lot including how to open an oyster, and also prepared his meal which tasted amazing. Robert was very informative and catered to my taste and again I had a very tasty meal.

We went for our third 'Mussel Madness' and, as usual, it didn't disappoint. The staff were as attentive as ever, and the food was top-notch.

We visited fish union last night with friends. I was slightly worried as I'm a veggie and this was a fish restaurant, all the rest eat fish but I had no need to worry. The chef cooked me one of the best veggie meal I've had in a resturant. Not a token veggie meal that is normally available it was so nice! The fish dishes looked amazing, and were also loved my all the other guests. I feel like they service we above and beyond, the staff are lovely. Great wine. What else could you ask for? We will definitely be coming back.

Took my parents hear for a lunchtime treat (early mothers day) and cannot recommed it more highly. Whoever thought of combining a beautiful fresh fishmonger and restaurant is a genius! Quirky yet tasteful decor and what a menu - so different and difficult to chose if you love fish!! The staff were fantastic, so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All three of us enjoyed every last mouthful of our food and wine. We will absolutely be back very soon.

One of if not the best foods I ate in London

Wow...fish dishes like you have never seen. Fresh fish of high quality. The menu is a little like Spanish tapas..small plates of different fish dishes and on the side vegetable dishes. You order several dishes and share with friends/ family... Quite expensive but a wonderful experience (worth saving up for). Staff friendly and Picpoul de Piner perfect.

my dad brought me as a spontaneous lunch today as its his favourite restaurant and I can see why. Food was fantastic with so many options, atmosphere was pleasant, and staff were very friendly. If I could afford it this would be a new regular spot haha

Delicious place to dine in Chislehurst as long as you love fish!! Great sustainable fresh fish with the bestest chips plus a tasty bottle of Albarino Friendly service and of course the fresh fish sales The chilli prawns are divine!!

Amazing food and really good value.

We had an absolutely delightful dinner at Fish Union last night. We booked 30 mins before arriving and were given a lovely booth seat. The food was sensational - we had the scallops, octopus & prawns. Then we had the mussel offer with a massive portion of moules mariniere/bread/amazing crispy potatoes and a glass of wine for £20. This was followed by the most delicious chocolate fondant. The service was brill - the team couldn’t have been nicer and the owner was great too. The only complaint was it was a tiny bit cold in the restaurant but to be fair it was minus 3 outside!! Can’t wait to come back. Thanks guys

Found the daily menu without many options as mains, and the main menu quite pricy. Definitely a place to go for oysters.

We went for a Sunday walk to Petts Wood and on the way back stopped for lunch. Really nice food and polite service. Everything we have tried was delicious

Food was good but not amazing. Samphire way too salty for example. But mackerel really great. Haphazard delivery of the dishes. Being picky as it is a good place and overall I would recommend.

Had an absolutely lovely birthday lunch at Fish Union! Couldn't recommend the Tuna Tataki more! The picked mussels and happy hour shrimps are also a must-have. My family had a wonderful time. Amazing service! The price definitely reflects the quality of the food, so don't worry about not getting your moneys worth. I will be coming again!

Such a gem. Went for Saturday dinner and was really impressed. The food is amazing! Octopus and prawns cooked to perfection. Other dishes were brilliant too. We went with our dog and had table on terrace. Waiters were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. It was wonderful evening

Great restaurant with good attentive smiley staff. Mot a hugh menu. And if you don't like fish don't bother. No meat alternative. Not cheap but fish is never cheap. We really enjoyed our evening with good fresh food.

Went there with my daughter for lunch today the staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive. The food was amazing perfectly cooked. It is so easy to overcook squid and octopus but this had been cooked to perfection. The Galician octopus was far superior than I’ve ever had in Spain and I lived there for 9 years. Was so caught up in the food I forgot to take anymore photos. Also had squid and clams, chilli prawns tuna and Eton mess everything was faultless. I has really been looking forward to eating there and I wasn’t disappointed. Will definitely be going back again maybe Sunday Brunch next time.

Little unexpected gem here. Appears like a wet fish counter but sit down, buy some bubbly and enjoy food that is way way better than you'd expect. Superb casual dining experience. Octopus was best I've ever had. Very highly recommended

Just ate here and wow, blown away. Dishes were just incredible and with impeccable service, it's made our new favourite list. Sardines were delicious, oysters plump and full of flavour and the prawns were sublime. Great wine too. All the staff, especially Angelik (hope I got that spelling right) were incredibly knowledgeable, fun and efficient. Highly recommended!

I was craving seafood and decided to swing-by Fish Union and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was prepared swiftly. Every dishes were rather tasty.

Stopped here for spontaneous lunch and wow it was delicious. Some of the best fish we’ve ever had. The whole mackerel was perfectly cooked and an absolute steal. And the crispy potatoes were to die for. We’ll certainly be back.

This place is amazing and definitely the best Seafood around. I come here all the time and the team here are the best.

First visit to eat in. Staff excellent and very friendly, the quality of the fish was excellent and cooked very well. Highly recommend the Happy Hour Prawns and Crab Gratin. The wine we had was very nice, but I would only suggest to them it would be nice if they had slightly larger drinks list (2-3 more whites, 1-2 more sparkling). Would certainly visit again and great local addition.

Seafood meets tapas.... What. A. Find!! Outstanding food, great setting and a wonderful team. If you love seafood, brilliantly creative dishes and excellent wine, this is absolutely the place for you. Walked past it literally 100s of times and wish I'd been sooner. 10/10.

A great Addition to royal parade Chislehurst Richard Kirkwood is a top chef (look him up ) He knows fish well ! The whole team are great, we love sitting out side enjoy a menu that changes daily. Food, drink consistently good and now with the outside seating you could be on holiday with the smell of those prawns cooking. Happy hour 5-7 I recommend the prawns ask as they are not on the menu Support and enjoy

Absolutely excellent service, super lovely. Fish is fresh, the selection is brilliant and they are super knowledge about how best to cook your fish because they are all chefs! Highly recommended to anyone wanting a taste of the sea.
