I placed a very large order in the week as part of a celebration with my work colleagues 🥈🚑. We have used Lucas Fish Bar many times The Staff (Pete and the team) delivered everything I ordered perfectly, they did not miss a single item, and there were lot of them. The food was ready exactly on time, piping hot and the taste, portion size and quality of the food was absolutely spot on, many of my colleagues said it was the best fish and chips that they’d ever had, I have to agree with that, it’s was amazing, Thank you very much for looking us so well, from me personally, and from my colleagues of the London Ambulance Service……….🚑🚑🚑.

I’ve been away from London for 16 years upon my return I was advised by a friend to visit Lucus fish bar… and so I did… the owner very busy guy but still a smile on his face… I took a plaice & chips home for less than a tenner to boot… was so full very generous portion had to have two goes… fantastic tasting too… Enjoyed that much returned next night for three dinners Haddock Chips Cod Chips Skate chips… everyone more than enjoyed their plates… Certainly a must visit and little gem in the wall spot… 10/10

Hey guys on visit to East London had craving for fish n chips. On all accounts a wonderful experience for locals and travelers. First the exterior of the place does not say Lucas and looks of place are misleading; included a photo. Do not judge the book by the cover! As one reviewer said upon entering you are immediately welcomed as if you were a native. While I was waiting for my food had great exchange with owner and woman working behind counter. They answered all my questions about what I wanted and helped me place my order with patience. Upon ordering owner went back to kitchen and prepared my food fresh. Portions were generous with huge piece of fish battered to perfection and tons of “proper” chips; check photo. Delicious authentic fish n chips. Would definitely return!

The proprietor took my take away order, took my money then said it would be a 15 minute wait - when I said that was too long - he shrugged and said I could not have my money back - quiet rude

The hospitality and warmth I felt from the shop was amazing. The owners really make the food with love and the conversations is so friendly. Definitely a spot to check out

Went to this chippy yesterday whilst visiting from Liverpool, excellent value and service and the food was the nicest I’ve had in a long time, really tasty and well cooked, really good portion sizes. The staff were amazingly helpful. Definitely worth a visit if your around that way. The local people are so lucky to have such a good chippy.

On walking in there the greeting and banter you get was first class. Made you feel very welcome. The food is excellent. All hot thoroughly cooked. Will definitely visit again. Think the owner's name is Pete. Top bloke.

Went to this place today which is an easy walk from our hotel right by the London Excel. We are Canadians looking for authentic fish and chips! We read the amazing reviews of this place and this prompted us to show up here. The reputation did not disappoint; we were impressed with the friendly staff, the large size of cod and the crispy fries. The taste was a perfect balance of crispy battered fish in texture and delicious flavour. This place does not have seating. As a takeout, we walked about 1 km to our hotel and when we opened our food package it was hot and fresh. I highly recommend coming here!!

Best fried fish I have had so far in London. Eat it right there and you are in for a treat. (Otherwise it’ll soak all the oil and it will be a disaster) Tried both haddock and cod. Loved both but haddock will remain a favorite. 6.50ish for both fish and chips is probably one of the best deals you’ll get in town. Note: it’s a giant fish and huge portion of chips so can easily be shared between two if you are light eaters.

While staying at the aLoft hotel, I was craving some fish and chips. This place was the highest reviewed and was definitely worth the walk. The prices were cheap and the food was delicious. Note that they only accept cash and do not have anywhere to sit.

I was staying at a hotel nearby and went here to get fish and chips to bring back to my hotel room. Everything was decent enough. I wonder why they left the skin on the cod but I guess that's the way it's supposed to be?

Stayed across the road in the hotel and it was an easy decision to get something to bite here. Got some chippies with half a chicken for a good price of only £5. Tasty meal too and good portion size.

Good fish and chips very clean shop and friendly and helpful staff. We phone up and order first cuts of cod nice thick fish cooked to order and served if asked for in cardboard boxes so nothing gets sweaty whilst travelling home with dinner.

This fish and chips shop is incredible, always good fish, and chips that are cooked just right. Recommend to anyone.

Vimos las buenas críticas en TripAdvisor y Google y no nos decepcionó. El pescado (eglefino y solla que tomamos) y patatas fritas eran absolutamente genial, recién hechos y el personal muy agradable. Estamos seguros de que volveremos. Queríamos tomar a los scampi también. Pero eso fue demasiado optimista y nos alegramos de que nos salteamos, ya que el pescado y las patatas fritas definitivamente son suficientes para comer:) Súper delicioso. ¡Gracias chicos!

A pesar de tener una tienda de pescado y papas fritas frente a nuestra casa, siempre viajo por el camino extra en mi bicicleta para recoger nuestros platos para llevar desde aquí. Un negocio familiar, Peter y compañía. hacer una excelente comida, a muy buena relación calidad-precio, y siempre con una sonrisa. Una verdadera joya de una tienda de pescado y patatas fritas, y mantenerse en línea con las tradiciones que duran décadas. Me alojé en un hotel lujoso junto al centro de exposiciones Excel de londres enorme. Después de pasar dos días recorriendo todo Londres estaba anhelando el completo de la tradición inglesa llevar pescado y patatas fritas. Yo estaba en el centro comercial Harrods comida en pocas horas y vimos el pescado y las patatas fritas eran servicio de barra de 25 libras (pero tienes que ir allí, la planta de alimentos es increíble) así que pasé. Salir del tren en la estación Prince Regent haber cruzado las vías donde el ordinario ciudadanos viven y encontramos este pequeño llevar tienda. Yo puse mi pedido y después con agua salada y vinegered que descubrí que no aceptan tarjetas de crédito y no tienes dinero. El caballero del mostrador dijo que podía volver y pagar mañana. Fui la manzana de Parque cundy y en un típico día de londres y llenarnos comí mi tradicionales de pescado y patatas fritas. Definitivamente me lo mejor de mi viaje a Londres. Gracias

Having trudged round the Excel all day this place provides a take away to brighten up the rest of your day. When we went there was a queue in the shop, always a good sign with take aways. The fish and chips were fried in small batches while you are in the queue, so there is none of this warm it up from lunch and the final product is fresh and hot. The fish and chips are not priced at the usual silly prices so well worth a visit. Service was excellent even down to the news print detailed grease proof paper used for the wrapping.

Fish & Chips tradicional, uma comida obrigatória para quem vai a Londres. Não espere muito, mas a maioria dos lugares servem a mesma coisa :( Na minha opinião :)

I was in London on August 2, 2014 on a layover from Venice Italy. Some friends of mine picked us up from the airport and we were starving. We wanted to have a traditional Fish and chip meal. He stopped off here and they willingly accommodated 20 of us for take out lunch. They were patient, kind and so friendly. We each got an order of fish and chips, drinks, ices and other items. They supplied us with not the bare essentials but many extra sides as well. They also gave us a deal on the meals so that was great as well. The fish and chips were great they were seasoned well and were hot and fresh. I would definitely visit them again if I am ever in London.
