Fish & Chips in Spelthorne

New owners, a kid was working behind the counter, looked like a 10 year old, went at 17:30 to get pie chips for the wife and just chips for me, they were cold, looked like they were old ones from this afternoon and just heated up, at them prices I want them cooked fresh, theses are new owners, If they carry on like this they won't be in business for long, this used to be a very good chippie, It's now been spoilt for their greed.

Ordered via their website. Placed my order and paid the money. Got a message saying 'waiting for restaurant to confirm your order'. Waited 10 minutes with no message so decided to phone the restaurant. A very rude guy said the website delivery was not working and they didn't have one of the items I ordered anyway, said he was very busy and could not help. Said he just worked there. We phoned back the following day to talk to the manager with no luck. We are now in the process of getting our money back via our bank. There is no indication on the website that their delivery system is not working. We will never use them again, BEWARE.

Have been using this fish and chip shop for many, many years even though we now live in Staines, we still make the journey to enjoy the great fish and chips this shop is renowned for and been providing for a very long time. Unfortunately, it’s now under new ownership/management and it has sadly suffered badly as a consequence. Have tried it twice under the new regime and both times the fish was taken out of the top heated shelf. Before it was always cooked to order and was always worth the wait. Result was overcooked, over battered, very dry fish on both visits. Will now seriously contemplate taking my business elsewhere. Such a shame.

The guy that worked there before has left, it was 5* now It's not, so good went there last night, you could taste the oil on the fish, it was old and needed changing, the fish was big, but cut on the length, so it was thin, and it was the tail end, it was mostly batter, the chips were also on the hard side, and not fresh, it's a shame really it was a nice fish and chip shop, but its spoilt now sadly.

Called in here on a rainy night while staying at local B & B. Very friendly place - amazing fish and chips - portions rather overwhelming - couldn't finish the fish! Best we have had. thanks.

Arrived back at B/b and needed a quick late lunch . This place was recommended. We were very impressed. The guy gave us a few chips to eat while we were waiting which we have never had before. Then the fish was freshly cooked and the batter was lovely and crisp. The chips were not greasy either. A great find!

Had cod bites and chips and was only charged £5. to much to eat, great value for money and well cooked will definitely be using again.

They have a good variety of food including sausages and pukka pies, but I always go for the fish, which is fresh and flaky. Chips sides are huge!

I am from Edinburgh and I visit my daughter that lives in your area every 2 years and I always ask her to order a chippy from you as you food is excellant, the fish is so amazing that I could have it ever day.

We visited having just arrived back from holiday into Heathrow. Fish was freshly cooked with a crispy batter. Friendly server offered to split one portion of chips between us which was the perfect amount.

The food here is delicious and fish is freshly cooked, the chips are the best I’ve ever tasted for a chippy. Staff are nice and polite too

I don't know about you but I hate those chippys that stuff there chips in bags. You get home and your chips are all stuck in one big lump. Ergh. This chip shop is not one of those. They wrap your food in good old fashioned paper. The food is so lovely and he portion sizes are generous. The staff are very friendly and I didn't have to wait long for my food which was steaming hot even when I got home. Would definitely recommend.

This shop it bad not they cook in the same old oil all day every day go to the one in Stanwell village it is much better and cheaper and cleaner and very friendly to the one in the village not this one I am saying to everyone please go to the Stanwell village one you will see what I am on about

I regularly use this place despite living in Staines with several closer shops. Never disappoints. Great quality fish and chips for a reasonable price. We have used it for years and as long as it’s the best around, will continue to do so.

Amongst the parade of shops down Clare Road in Stanwell is this good fish and chip shop that serves good quality food. Good customer service. Prices are good value. Free car park.

Good food although the paper they put the chips in is not all that good as you get home and theres no vinagar left on the chips! Can be long waiting times. Other than that all good

I was there for a dinner. Even the medium portion was too big for me. Helpful and friendly staff will help you to choose what you want to eat. However, it does only take away.

Use this place about once a month. Never disappoints. Easily best fish and chips around this area. Great quality and good value. They even do a pensioners meal for my mother.

Most friendly hard working team of guys,serve the freshest ,tastiest fish and chips plus so much more to choose from. Also catering for the elderly having a smaller portion in their pensioners dish.

This wasn't the best, was a bit greasy and the service a bit impersonal. Unfortunately as ideal location but travel a bit further and other places are better.

The fish here is lovely big chunks of cod and nice batter and a good size ,chips are ok too varies depends on dust time you go

I work at Heathrow and have found this Fish and Chip shop in Longford.. Great place to get the above with LARGE portions and freshly cooked and nice moist chips....Definatly give this one a try!! :) :) :) :)

The portion size is rather generous.The fish was just superb.. crispy yet flaky!Worth every penny.Will try again

Its just a good chippy with clean tasting grub. A regular fish and chips shop. Reasonable prices and enough staff to handle the rush hour. Easily the best chips in the area.

The food (fish & chips) is OK, there is more than enough even in the medium portion. Parking outside is not bad, but remember this is a take-a-way not a restaurant!

Now that this is under new ownership, the food and service, and cleanliness has vastly improved, generous size portions.... more than I can eat anyway.... not at all greasy, dry chips, and piping hot, they cook the fish to order so its nice and fresh, this is now my local Fish & Chip shop and will definitely be using it again and again, reasonable prices and good portions make this a winner and quality product

Since I have lived in Stanwell I have never tried this Fish and Chip shop as the reputation it had was terrible. However in the last few weeks I had heard it had new owners and really had improved.So... last night I thought it was worth a try.THE FOOD WAS GREAT ! I was really impressed. I had a small battered sausage and a fish cake, along with a small chips and the BF had a large battered sausage and large chips, came to £7.50. The chips were crispy and not greasy and the same with the sausages, the fish cake was also really nice :)I also happened to notice on the door that they had a food hygiene inspection 12th Nov and scored top makes '5'Overall very happy with the place and will now consider this my local fish and chip shop !

The fish is over cooked & greasy. The chips do not fair any better.Real shame as the service is very friendly.

When I visited, I had trouble getting staff attention to place an order and to get the bill, even though restaurant was not very busy. I attribute it to poor management and staff training.
