Fish & Chips in Barking and Dagenham

Ever since the new owners took over, the quality dipped and Food is nowhere near as tasty as before

Love the place, been going here for years. The food is always lovely and they have a good selection. The workers are lovely and are easy to talk to, always nice to strike up conversation with. Their prices are fair and with the quality of the food it’s nothing to shun. Always my go to when I can’t decide on what to eat.

Came here today with my friend to have some dinner. Saw the good reviews, and was excited. Dont be like me and my friend. We came in and ordered 2 different burgers, but only because there wasn't any wraps for the chicken doner wrap. A lot of the items that they had on the menu weren't available either. The actual shop itself was dirty, there were flies everywhere and a dead bug in the pickle jar. There were two workers there, one of which was always shouting at the other. She had to send him to the post office to get burger buns, and was in general speaking to him very hardly. The atmosphere of the shop was very stiff. She ended up burning one of the meat patties (which were stored on a tray right next to the jar with the bug) The whole process for making the food was very lengthy, and while the food was being made we were able to go to two other stores before coming back. The food itself was bland, unseasoned and not worth it at all. The only plus of this place were the prices, as they were relatively cheap. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Fish and chips has got to be my favourite takeaway. Unfortunately the food here didn’t taste great. Fish was ok, freshly cooked but batter was too thick, however that is a matter of opinion, so it may be to others taste. The chips had a cheesy taste to them, so only had a handful. I also got some doner meat in a tray. Just tasted of salt, so again only had two/three strips. The reason for the two stars was purely for the service. The lady behind the till was lovely and polite, the food I’m sorry to say was well below par.

Best fish and chips in Dagenham East. Big portion and very testy, value for money, we will soon come back again.

IT WAS THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!! The environment is lovely and the portions are soooo big and the food is very tasty. 100% value for money and I would recommend eating here.

Just had a lovely savaloy and chips, English run and proper chips. Impressed.

Ordered Lamb donner meat and large chips. Lamb Donner size was absolutely small for £7 and it’s about 10 pieces of lamb donner. Chips was a regular portion at best, box was not filled up. The cost was £12 and I wasted my money with the value.

It's a nice place, and the man who owns it mr chips is very friendly. And he does try to keep his prices resenball as well.

Just popped in for a quick bit of food, some of the best fish and chips I’ve had in a long time and very reasonably priced

Would give it 0 stars if I could. Worst place I’ve been to in the area. Give you old food that’s been reheated and completely burnt, probably has been sitting around for days. The chips were barely something you can bite into. Not sure how these guys are even still open.

All produce are of a really high quality Beautiful haddock and amazing fried chicken

Picked up Fish and large chips, savaloy and a fish cake. We got the food at 4pm, most defiantly the fish and chips were dry and like leather, and very over done. Both had been re heated put back in the frier for sure. The saveloy was dryer than the dessert, again left overs from last night...Fish Cake was the only fresh item. Will be a long time until I return here....why do it cook fresh please for how much we pay.....

Got large cod and chips, cod cooked fresh, took it home fish 🐟 full of bones, nothing telling you might have bones, my other half nearly choked on 1,then sorted through and found 5 bones, plus it tasted like the fat had not been changed for weeks. NEVER GOING BACK IT'S A SHAME I CAN'T GIVE A ZERO

Slightly on the pricey side, 8.90 for fish and chips, chips very nice. Cod fish okay. Decent shop. Could be better. Extra charge for sauces, 50p for pot of sauce, sauce is not great. Sauces should come free especially when the food is already well overpriced. Kebab for a tenner but i still have to pay extra for sauce. Not worth it

Overpriced already and then on top of that they charge you for everything including to have salt and vinegar on your chips

Best fish & chip shop around, family run with good tasty food, you have to try the southern fried chicken, you will not beat the cod, always cooked to perfection. great menu to choose from and very good value for money

The fish (cod) is a lovely bit - chips are OK (sometimes a little bit dry - but if freshly done they are OK) - good customer service & it's just at the bottom of the hill at Dagenham east station !... Would recommend 👌

Would anyone like to taste this kind of packaged mix doner? Sorry it is not possible to upload a photo. I tried, but soon put it in the bin. because even the meat was cold. Although I live two minutes from this shop. It's are mix doner for 7 pounds! ....

Ordered fish and chips for 4 people for 12.45. All ready for collection on time. Cheerful service and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Lovely and hot and fresh. Will definitely be back.

Loved it AND This place serves halal food too. I did not realise when I had entered the shop that this place that they were serving halal food too. In any event I ordered fish and chips. I ordered a plaice fish so I could share with one other. The portions were very generous, the quality of the fish was very good. I think my fish was slightly overcooked however even though it was slightly overcooked, the fish was still very nice. The chips was absolutely Scrumptious and I will be definitely going back there. I think I found my local favorite
